Alrighty I have returned... not that anyone really knew i was gone. Here's the thing. I crave something other than Zion. In my heart i dont belong there. So im looking to join up with where the action is at. I cant stand all this goody two shoes bit. So whats going out there. Who's having all the fun? ((on a side note.. im looking for an RP based faction where theres plenty to keep me occupied.))

There has been a sizable Merovingian renaissance lately that has taken a lot of people from all sides. There's always RP to be had in that org, but there's no accounting for quality nowadays. Lots of godmodding, stories about hybrid exiles that can never die and can /e kill you, and a lot of self serving RP. It's a lot of character development but no ongoing plot in most cases. No 'story'.
With the departure of Haigen, Cypherites have taken a hit but still retain the same position in PvP/RP if only to a lesser extent. I personally prefer RP that is more grounded within the Canon of the movies with very little deviation. Cypherites usually fit pretty well into that category and there's some excellent story activity to partake in if you put forth the effort. It's a nice option for people who want to play conflicted characters since there's always the power trip that the Matrix gives a person but the desire to have the old life back, etc.
Machines tend to be a bit more cookie cutter (maybe a bit bland) in nature but harbor some of the 'best' RP'ers in terms of actually abiding by those unsaid RP rules. I find less godmodding on this side, and some of the most well put together stories from Machinists that could probably be made into best selling novels. A lot of people don't like the monotonous Agent drone that many Machinists seem to emulate. It's not everyone, but there's enough of it to be a stereotype. Some of the RP created by Machinst players often gets overlooked because it'll end up going over most people's heads. There is such a thing as RP that is too intelligent.
You've said that you're sick of Zion, and EPN is still EPN. So I'm going to assume that those two are out.
Hope that helped some.

thanks for that Marias. Most definately a good insight into whats happening. Ive heard a little bit of bad press about the Mervs lately but im open to find out for myself. I have a lot of good memories of playing as merv and had it not been for Asna's ... persistance i most likely would have remained merv. oh and Criinge was actually deleted so im not playing as her these days

You can still get her back as long as you haven't remade the name. That is, unless you feel like grinding it out again.

I thought it was only the name you could get back? Nope. As long as you haven't remade the name again, the character is still in the Database. CCR it on another character and ask to have it reinstated. People delete their characters accidentally all of the time.

I accidentally deleted my storage character before and was over a week before someone told me to ccr and get it back. I did so. Next day I had it back. I have actually found its easier to get characters back with full info/abs/clothes (whatever you had on it when deleted) then a singel item for some reason.
