BLAP

Imagine, just for a moment, that PvP was purposeful in the constructs.

Imagine that in the constructs when you killed an opponent you could loot/would recieve a token. No's of these tokens could be exchanged for goods.  Imagine if 50 kills in various sakura instances could be exchanged for bandanna equivolents - which of course would need to be untradeable.

I am not saying the same loot as the bosses drop, but new loot, only achievable through PvP in the constructs.  Not only would this bring more people to the constructs, it would result in escalation - as more people died reinforcements would be called and there might even be large scale pointful PvP.

 Just a thought.

Edit: Consideration see's that people between orgs could come up with deals to farm tokens by respectively allowing themselves to be killed. Perhaps only allow tokens from people without DE. *shrugs*  It was merely a starting point of an idea.

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Poignent.

I am indeed grasping at smoke, trying to catch shadows, bottling light.

I guess, I would like something more out of the things we already have. Anyone else?

If you want large scale PVP in the construct, you could do what HostileIntention is doing on Syntax and advertise an event where everyone can head into 0-1 and have a proper orginised large scale fight.

PvP would be great if it had a point.  Doubly so if it would move away from Mara C.  How many times have we all chased someone up and down that overpass?

CQ's and ranking systems aren't enough.  I don't PvP enough to ever be ranked in a top 10, or even a top 50.  The people who do PvP enough to make those ranks are the same people who PvP enough to stay in those ranks.  We'd see the same names on the list for weeks on end.  In order to make it fair CQ's would have to be reset every so often, and I know a lot of people wouldn't be happy about that.

But in a game where we exist in a persistant virtual world, persistant virtual rewards make the most sense.  Like the archive clothing and FX rewards.  Something unique that validates our accomplishments.  Something available to everyone at a certain point, but not without some time and effort.

That being said, I support this idea.  Give PvP a purpose, and return the constructs to their originally intended purpose.

I'm always up for new content, and like the idea.  However, we all know what will happen.

1. New content comes out
2. Everyone farms the new content for a few weeks.  Once that is done,
3. PVP begins again at mara c

Why? Because

1. it's free to PVP in mara (no archive book)
2. returning after you're killed is very quick (no waiting for the Archivist to send you there)

It happens every time we have new content.  After the huge addition of Data Miner content, DT was ablaze with redpills.  For about a month.  Now it's a ghost town again.  Though, I do see more people running around because of the content, but not many.

Do... or do not. There is no try.   Why are you even on a hostile server if you dont pvp much?

CQs, being already in game, would appear to be half the battle. I remember when Honor points were introduced to WoW for PvP kills, followed by being able to purchase items with said points.

All they'd really have to do would be to find a way to set up a vendor to go off of CQs. I don't know if that's possible though. D:

That is, if a construct-PvP token system is too much.

Your idea's great btw. SMILEY
Kill, collect token, trade for cool item. I like it and I would definitely pvp more.

Because I choose to?  SMILEY

Actually, I don't think the mere act of being on a hostile server dictates that I must seek out people to kill.  I find the fact that I'm constantly open to be attacked more exhilarating than the fights themselves.

I guess the point that I was trying to make with the stuff about CQ's and ranking systems was that there are players on all servers who make PvP their life.  I personally don't understand it, but hey, to each their own.  These people have accumulated enough CQ's over the years, and continue to accumulate them by the truckload, that if a ranking system were to be put in place the ranks would only change once in a blue moon.
