I agree with you on that one MatrixRefugee...things need to be in context. Billboards don't sing (yet! thank god) in the Real, they need to not yammer for my attention in the Matrix: just the color palette will do, like with all static advertisements. If you want to bombard me with sound, build a TV shop and make it audible when I'm close to the window. Or put a radio in the room...if you must.
Otherwise it starts to get like Minority Report with those holographic Gap ads: "Good morning Mister Anderton--how are those khakis working for you, that you bought last week?"
