Exactly, Batman Begins is, without any doubt, the best superhero adaptation to date/for me, the best movie about "superheroes" is Unbreakable...). Taking as reference the awesome Batman: Year One, this movie is a perfect portrait of a realistic and serious Batman. I'm looking forward to see a good Lazarus Pit resurrection for the old R'as in the next movie.
And about Superman Returns....well, let's just say you can't have a good movie if you don't have a good character so...no, I don't like it. Another "genetically wrong" guy here.

Being one of the first comics to appear, his story is quite fascinating. A sole survivor of an alien race sent away from a destroyed planet to save humankind? My kind of stuff! Sci-fi at its finest.

I think they are referring to the actor in general, not the character. As far as Superman goes, the sci-fi stuff borders more on magic and fantasy to me where the "color of our suns light" makes him stronger (going by some of the older mythos of Superman, dunno how much of that changed now).
I dont like the actor they choose either for the role, he looks to femine to me.
The film itself could turn out ok, but the premise so far is alittle corny. But we'll see I suppose.
