It means you should level up a bit..
If the mission server starts taking you into really tough areas... you have 2 choices
1) Get a lvl 50 to grind you up (boooooring)2) Do local contact missions since they typically spawn very close to the contact to help you level up a bit higher.3) Just kill local mobs or do the dungeons (exhile hideouts) that are within your level.

However if you INSIST on finishing the missions that require you to have someone follow you before you level up... then here are some pointers for having someone follow you in an area where your follower is a much lower level the the mobs1) Always always use the streets.. dont use alleyways or parks.2) Find a safe spot and tell them to stop following you... then run ahead and scout out a route (along roads) that will get you where you need to go3) Go back and get them and be extra careful.. it is very hard doing it this way but it can be done with careful planning and patience (sometimes you have to "park" them and go kill mobs)
One Note: There were some downtown contact missions where you escort a level 1 character.... It was nearly impossible to get them there safely... You had to lead them have them wait.. then go kill all the mobs (remember NOT to loot the mobs) then go back and get your character... rinse and repeat..They have since changed these so the low level characters no longer aggro the mobs... If you are still having issues with the mission and CCR it, they may just decide to change the aggro attribute of the follower. I feel personally responsible for them changing the Chef's missions. I just wanted the contacts to recognize when I brought them to a safe place, but QA decided having an aggro-able level 1 follow you around downtown was too hard so they changed that too.

Zion is afraid of everybody (there is a reason we are called "meatbags.")3) At this point his character could go either "good" or "bad" so it would be fun to take him back and forth across the line as I imagine his character will do from time to time.
