sounds good in theory, but not good in the long run.

As Tytanya said, it breaks spy disguises, but more than that, it would have to be re applied after death, and also would require alot of crap in the data base for each persons unique look, I would rather see a change to the coding system that allowed for buffs from one item to be applied to another.

yep, that is the one obvious issue they need to look into.
Ideally the RSI Manipulator would be applied, then if someone used a disguise that appears, when the disguise is finished or the player dies, the RSI they saved should come back. The manipulated RSI should only be turned off when the user says so.

And just for the sake of putting something here... it's a wonderful idea!  Then we need 'wave-able' trenches.

I think this is a great idea, wouldn't benefit me personally because I improvise my combat clothing with style..... SMILEY

but yeh it's a nice idea.

All the best fighters and those that can afford the gear have the same clothes,
people look the same, and it's not by choice.

Let us choose what we want to wear, people shouldn't be basing their loadout on
what non-stupid looking gear there is available for that loadout.

this simple idea lets the Devs avoid all clothing problems with one solution.
Make a temp mask of appearance, put on stupid outfit, apply nifty mask.

ignoring the clothing in matrix is like making it law to serve icecream in fire.

Yeah, after rsi pills, I expect them to do something about clothing manipulation. No need for me to list why and how, since almost everyone knows what is wrong with the current level 50 clothes (aside from all, no black buffed shades ? geez...).
One can always hope.

The Matrix was as much about mood and styel as anything else, it does need to do somthing about the clothing issues at some point...this idea seems more straightforward than some of the others and acheives 90% of what is asked.

I also favour the introduction of invisible clothing in outerwear  and shirts for additional variety and for discrete eye and ear piercings to be brought in as an alternative to glasses and hats.

This topic need not exist.  For one thing it's 'unrealistic', but more importantly it has been said by the Devs already that they're looking at filling the gaps in the clothing database.  In not too long it'll be a lot easier to look good and have the buffs you want at the same time.

If Seraph and Agent Gray had to wear clown suits to pwn things the way they do, how many hours do you think the clothing situation would be fixed? probably not that many hours.

even if they double the amount of buf possibilities with the clothes people aren't going to be able to wear exactly what they want. need to be able to make mask image of combinations as detailed here, or let us transfer bufs from one clothing to another in the coding process.

the idea of invisibility/transparancy is good Tytanya, i'd look for something like this on gloves/hats, for example someone wouldn't wear gauntlets with a dress. making a saveable image of the Rsi would take this into account that there were no gloves or outerwear at that time.

and us girls are annoyed about the gimp mask, let bandannas be for both sexes. and the tiny tiny sunglasses look like m&m's and a paddle pop stick, i dont want to wear that, who designed this stuff? another problem fixed with the Rsi model manipulator.

Like any innovative thought to be dignified, this proves to be an exceptional one.  However, there are so many things possible that can be tweaked to favor certain aspects of gameplay.  One should not presume that things can come terribly easy.

I agree with a comment made earlier regarding MxO programmers compromising between better stats and better clothing.

Since there will be no more frequent live events or LESIG officers and more focus towards the "game"... this thread deserves to be NECROED!

Fighting in mxo and looking like hi tech hobos on crack is OLD.... this issue has plagued the game since the beginning. Something needs to be done to solve the problem.
