Menos of Fallen Horizon is currently in the process of completing a project for his work at university, the subject of which is MMO's.

He would be grateful for any and all players here that could fill out and return the following questionnaire to him (where to email be is in the document itself).

I'm sure a lot of us will be willing to help him, but to add extra incentive, 1 person will be randomly selected from all entries to win 20 million info (recursion only), and on top of that, the first 20 players to return a filled questionnaire to him will also get 2m info each (recursion only). Yes, sorry the information will only be provided on recursion, but hey it can't hurt to have some on there SMILEY

So thank you to all that fill it out and help him with this project.

Oh, a little word from him...

"I'm currently studying at University in the UK, and for my final year dissertation I am writing a research paper looking at the MMO game industry, the communities that inhabit the game worlds and why the genre is continuing to grow, including a look at how MMOs may progress in the near future.

The main purpose of this questionnaire is to gain a better understanding of the community itself, and why we play MMOs. I've included instructions on the first page, however, if anyone has any issues with filling out the form, feel free to contact me via email and i'll help where i can (my email address can be found on the first page of the questionnaire).

Thanks for taking the time to fill out the questionnaire, it is much appreciated and will be invaluable to my research.

Download Questionnaire.

As stated in the questionnaire, you may need to turn off design mode, the icon for it should auto popup in some case and you simply need to click it.

I haven't installed Word on this PC either, but it opened up with WordPad (should be default on your pc as well, although I haven't tried it in Notepad...)

I couldn't use the drop-down menus, but I could click on them and type in some answers.

Done.

The "How many FREE MMOs do you play" question needs an answer of 0 as well.

Hey all,  Sorry i haven't been able to post until now...i've been having some long term connection problems.

The drop down boxes are meant asa guide, for anyone that either doesn't have word, or is having problems with the controls used on the questionnaire, feel free to delete the relevant box and enter your answer in it's space.  Not ideal, but i can work with the answers like that.  For those of you that don't have word/office, but would like to be able to view and edit MS Office documents, you could always consider using Open Office as an alternative: http://www.openoffice.org (it's a free, open source Office Suite, just an idea for those that want it).

I noticed that too phi, but by the time i had sent the document to be uploaded it was a little too late...maybe next time SMILEY
Sorry i couldn't provide a web based questionnaire Havocide, it was my first choice, and obviously the best option.  However, i just haven't had the time to put one together and test it, the research i'm conducting is being done in a very short space of time....too much gaming, not enough studying on my part, heh.

Thanks to everyone that has completed and returned the questionnaire so far, despite the problems a few of you have had with the drop down boxes, been getting some good answers to the last couple of questions.  If anyone has any problems with the questionnaire, feel free to email me...or pm (now that i'm back on the forums) and i'll help as much as i can.

As a lil reminder, the final return date for the questionnaire is this thursday, 26th April.  I'll still take questionnaires after this date, though the 26th is the cut off for the 20mil info draw we will be doing this coming weekend.

Thanks again for taking the time to fill out the questionnaire, and for the words of encouragment i've received in a few of the emails.  It's all been a huge help with my research, i'll be glad when it's all done though....oh well, better get back to it.

Sent.

Though I did encounter an error when closing the file after completion. If I haden't saved it, it would have been lost. The prompt came up to send error report to MS. Anyone else get this?

Good luck, Menos, on your project.
