It's a great idea, GG, and it's kind of inspired me to do my own little desktop project. SMILEY

But, just for some useful feedback, the bullet-ripple effect really works best when it is see-through (i.e. with a background that will be broken up by the ripple pattern) and when it is used in conjunction with a bullet. So, if you add a bullet at the end, truncate the ripple effect as it emanates from the passing of the bullet, and put your title behind the effect (which I see now is obviously what you intended to do), it will work.

Although, using the bullet effect for a Knife-Thrower wallpaper might take away from the overall effect. Maybe putting your title as a reflection in a knife blade would work better?

idk, it's your wallpaper, just throwing some thoughts at you.

Excellent ideas and work though! 9/10

Nah, the background and that bullet time thingie is some sort of layout for the wallpaper series I thought. I'll add a Knife at the end of the trail at this Wallpaper. Different Bullets for the guns, etc. Dunno what to put for the WireFu one, but I already know what to put for the Hacks!

Well, the problem was that the ripples were barely seeable at first. If you didn't knew they were there you wouldn't see them. So I brightened up the background where the ripples should be and then added the glas distortion. It was far too bright so I tried to darken it a bit. It would be more "transparent" if the edges of the ripples were darker. I'll try to enhance that either way.

One little improvement has come to my mind (updated first post!)

Keep 'em coming!

With the Trail of my characters legs in the air.. I love the dark feel to the image its Cool.. especially the background.. Id be happy to have somthing like it as my wall-paper ^.^

Thanks Riac. Cool idea with the trail, but I haven't started to work on the RSI itself. It took me long enough to get it into the right position, modify/insert/attach aproppriate arms/fists and fill out textures on the arm and the places of the body which had holes after I modified the position of the arms.

<_< The background is from the Hel Club parking lot. Original. I had to redo the parts where the RSI covered the wall, wasn't difficult though.

o_O  You changed the original wallpaper!

I like what you've done with this version, although if you ever feel the need to go back to that original pose (ala Wolverine with the knives) you should. It had a nice concept. SMILEY  But, this has more action, movement, etc. For some reason I keep getting the feeling that the throwing knife/bullettrail should be facing the opposite way. A composition/movement thing I suppose. Maybe play around with putting it near the bottom where the black space is.. but i'm not sure how well the bullet trail effect shows up on black.

And, don't be thinking that anyone isn't interested.. there are people like me who lurk and check things out, but don't post too much i'm sure. SMILEY  I think when I first saw this topic it was very early in the morning when I was just about to leave for work.

At any rate, it's looking good so far. SMILEY

Great start man.

I like the whole concept your trying to do here. What I think would be cool to add is a NPC whos been hit with Neuro, and possibly trying something with that animation used too...with a motion blur effect on layers you can make it look like live action.

Looking foward to how these ho SMILEY

Oh I prefer the 2nd to the Wolverine style one.

Yeah I changed the wallpaper, cause the wolverine style had no action -_- although I tried to add 3 knives to the left hand but it just didn't look good so I went for that version with one knife.
I'll try out your suggestions to reverse the knife/bullettrail thingy.
No, the bullet trail does NOT show up on black background, that's why it was difficult to get a decent one on that background.

Adding a NPC.. I'll think about it but originally I wanted a theme wallpaper with the player only. Uh uhh.. I just got an idea. A corpse with blood leaned on the wall and a knife in the body. Sheesh, modifying bodies takes long. I guess next update will be tomorrow earliest.

Keep on rollin.

Yeah that's what I said. SMILEY I had an idea for the "Wolverine style" one, but I think that's because it reminds me of ae game I can't think of the name of..

But I think it's on the cover of said game, and i've seen a sig around here that has it.  Anyway, if that original pose were larger (Aka, the majority of the screen) and you were working on it that way, then it'd work. As it was, with the rest of the background and the RSI shifted off to the left, I stay by the no-action thing, and that this one has way more. SMILEY

Good job on the body part patching! His... right arm, our left, i think the bicep area needs to be just a liiiiittle longer, proportionally. Although it might be the angle he's throwing at, in which case it could be a little thicker (Look at the opposite arm for reference)

And I had a feeling about the bullet-trail on black thing. It has nothing to reflect off of. /duh.  SMILEY

Ok, I reattached a new arm and fist. I added a corpse (^_^). Now I'm stuck with one problem.

How to make the blood at the wall and where he was hit by the 4 knives?
For the wall blood, I'd prefer some texture, but I dunno where from.
For the blood and wounds on body, what Procedure would you guys prefer? (I read through the Blood Tutor that's around right now but I dunno -_-)

Before Blood

With Blood

There is still no blood on the wall.
Of course the RSI and all things will be tweaked so it looks better at a later phase.

Update: Try numero tres is up.

Changes: Corpse + Blood

Of course you can't see too much of it on this picture -_-

Either way, after I get some stuff from Pyraci (I hope he doesn't forget) I'll look if I can enhance the blood a bit still. After that there are still 3 things to do:

1. Better Font+Colour for Title
2. RSI/Enviroment Enhancements
3. Lighting

Suggestions are welcome.

EDIT: Total Image of Corpse with blood and blood on wall can be found here

Btw: All credits for the corpse go to DevilSparda. Thx man for playing a dead guy SMILEY

Update: The for now final version has been uploaded. It's 1680 x 1050 in resolution.

Changes: Changed Sneak (now 4), Tweaked Hair (as far as a Ps nub like me is able to -_-), Lighting, Changed Colour of title (:O what a change), Movement Trail as suggested by Riac

If some good feeback gets here I'll maybe tweak it a bit again.
If not, I'll start working on a new signature for me. Cheers.

I like the motion-blurred RSI that's right before he "pops out" to be seen. The title looks better in red, in my opinion, but it's a little harder to read now than it was. The dead corpse is... morbid  o_O  SMILEY  but, if you can darken the blood a little bit on his RSI so it's not that bright bright red, it might blend in a bit more.

The bright red on the walls match though, for some reason.

Maybe play around with the dodge and burn tool (Copy your layer so you don't mess up the original one, that's what I do just in case) and get some extra depth in there. I'm a sucker for good contrast.. and there are some parts that could use a bit more, but then it's also a dark scene so.. Bah, i'd ramble on a bit more, but I have to get to work.

Silly "gotta-be-there-15-minutes-earlier-now" thing. >.<
