It's so much simpler when they name a class "Tank" like on another game I used to play. :smileywink: That said, I set out to build a tank. I combine karate and kung fu then sought out items with VD and VR. The problem with being a Tank in MxO is that you have to be able to change clothes faster than Cher sometimes as new threats enter the field. If there is a pack of MKT coming at me, I better grab as much Dodged ranged as I can before I'm dead in the next two seconds. At my level I do pretty well, I think, at fufilling the Tank role. It's a bloody hard role to fill. More like bait most of the time against people. Against Mobs.... I sleepwalk through mobs. I get excited when I'm facing a level 50 mob because I might actually get hurt.
I have Aikido, but I never use it. I found it's more useful, at the moment, to do a greater amount of damage. One thing that a lot of people forget when they are trying to build a tank is belief. Belief = combat toughness. If you ain't tough, you can't take the kicking you are going to get as a tank. Your ability scores play a pretty big role I found. Winning roles through perception is more important in my opinion, but without putting a few points in belief I wouldn't be able to take the stompfest I get laid on me sometimes.
A tank generally isn't a soloist either. There are usually others backing the tank up. A pure hacker protected by a couple tanker types is pretty formidable.
*shrug*
That's my opinion at least. I'm sure by the time I get to fifty I'll change my mind. At my rate... that should be sometime next year. LOL.
