I love cr2.0, I was one of the skeptics that has really turned into a fan of this system....
My only issue with cr2.0, is defense as a whole... You can set your attributes anyway you like, but in my opinion that's not enough, I've done some testing, loading up the best loads I can, and trying them against the loads I want to defend against.. (i.e setting up ballistic defense and just having gunman shoot at me to see how good it is) and even with max ballistic defense, I still get hit, a lot.... at the minimum I still get hit with 3 out of 5 attacks.. Same applies with MKT as well...
Now, a situation where it really matters.. In pvp, it's never even, we all know this (zerg!)... PvPing is great now, in my opinion.. being an MA the majority of the time... the major problem I see, is the lack of being able to defend against outside attacks... If you've got a 3 on 1 PvP situation, you're interlocked with an MA, and you have a rifleman and an MKT on the outside, you're as good as dead... I mean, you have the hyper abilities, but even with them, you can't defend against everybody.. If you're in interlock, and you are using hyper block.. ok, so you're protected fairly well in interlock.. but if you see you are getting knived, and switch over to hyper sense, you might not get hit as much from the MKT, but now the rifleman is still going to shoot you up.. and now you're going to get slaughted in interlock, because MA defense without it almost never outrolls any of the attacks, even with max focus...
So, the solution to this could be a few things... you could either...
Convert MKT into the ballistic category (if you can dodge a bullet, you should certainly be able to dodge a knife) This would free up some attribute points we could put into ballistic defense..
Or to make it easier, just make the same attribute buff ballistic and thrown defense... so we won't have to scatter our very important attribute points out.
Make the hyper abilities passive.. so as long as they are loaded, the upgrades are there.
If not the above, make the hyper abilities active for like 60 seconds at a time, with a short reuse timer, and allow us to use all of them at once, to be able to defend ourselves in those situations.
A combination of any of the above... as well as having outside of interlock attacks, automatically roll against a block, instead of whatever tactic we are using, since block gives us a little more defense.
Just some ideas, from my trials with PvP so far... I think if there is going to be something people complain about, it's going to be the fact they are dying way to fast in PvP...

Your going to get hit a lot with this new system. How high you can roll has less impact with this system than how much damage you can resist. Resistance is everything now and not how high you can roll. Try to ignore your rolls (for the most part) and concentrate on building your resistance and youll see getting hit 3 out of 5 times isnt that big of deal.
If your outnumbered 3 to 1 in pvp you should die or have to run.

I'm not really speaking on exact roll numbers.... but if a person with max ballistic defense faces a person with max ballistic accuracy, it should be an even battle, this isn't the case... even with max ballistic defense, the average ballistic CT roll is still about 10 points higher than your defense..... still giving them the advantage reguardless.... I'm aware resistance is a big deal now, but I'd still rather not get hit, than take less damage...

There are benefits to the way the system is now. Lower levels can now help fight higher level characters since they have a better chance of landing an attack. They may not do a lot of damage but they can still help in other ways (cause states or debuffs).
Imagine a group of 10+ level 30's being able to take down a level 50. That was simply impossible with the old system.
It has more advantages than it does disadvantages.
all i have to say on this is.....didnt sony learn ANYTHING when they murdered SWG
i played that game also and loved it, was ORIGINAL, not like any other MMO, thats why it was good, sony buys it and changes how the whole thing works and it died, like 90% or more of their accounts quit in less than a month
they need to learn that if someone wants to play EQ then they will play THAT game, quit ruining all the other
I played matrix in beta, and i loved it, it was again different and original
Yes i remember that it was slightly...broken, hell at lvl 30 i could take on 5 or 6 lvl 50s and come out untouched, just max out speed attack bonus on all your gear and stats, and go kung fu, and bam, you couldnt be hit
so ya it needed to be changed, but this damage resistence, what is this? its matrix, and last i checked if your shot in matrix to much your dead, you dont, resist damage you AVOID it
and then beyond that, even if they want to bastardize that consept, then instead of being lazy and making the fights feel like you take turns trading blows, program some new friggin graphics/ animations
b4, if you hit they didnt, was that simple, so combat was fluid, looked cool, now you both roll seperate, and if you both score a hit, you do a long *CENSORED* combo for one hit, then they do a long combo for their hit, it looks *CENSORED* and makes the fights take FOREVER, make new animations so that if you both hit, then it does a special animation where you both get shots in in one combo scene, and keep the battle look fluid
te cool scenematic fight scenes and the matrix feel was the only reason to play this game, and once again in one shot sony ruins them both, good game sony....heres hoping you dont ruin vanguard also, noone wants ANOTHER EQ clone

You really do come off as someone who doesn't understand this system, you might complain about long animations, but they are there for many reasons, mainly the whole DPS as well.
CR 2 did not break MxO but it gave pvp a new edge, there is still lots to learn for many people and they really need to get to grips with it. Setting your attributes, using a base style, choosing your buffs, choosing defense and resistances, all these aide to make combat that much more interesting and thought provocative. ITs not just load one move and keep spamming it, you actually have to think about things a lot more and decide how best to play out a battle.
Its the age old saying "people fear what they don't understand"
lol no, i totally understand the system, its like every other MMO ive played
and yes they did break it, in the sence its not the same game anymore, nothing is the same.....and honestly you come off as someone who didnt play back in beta, or youd get what i was saying, the game works, its just not the game i played in beta, and i loved it, it was original, now its not, its every other MMO, with less features...it just happens to be i na city and not some fantasy island
my point is, sony kills MMOs when they buy them, 3 servers.....when i left they were high capacity, now its still only 3 servers, but 2 on low and one on medium....now, how did they do something right? looks to me like they ran ppl off just like in SWG
and ya, if you learn the system, you can still play the game, but that wasnt the point, the point is, its not the game it was made to be, they gimmy rig it to something their devs better understand, to make it easier for them to work with, just like in SWG
beyond that, changing the fundamentle workings of a game, runs old time players off, but does not bring new ppl to the game, that wouldnt have come anyways, so flat out it lowers your acocunt base, wich is why i said "how did SWG not learn their lesson with SWG" and the answer, i dont think they care if they kill this game
