How many people said CR2 was the final straw?  While this is a major change to the way we play, I don't think it's worth quite the amount of panic it seems to have generated.

Because, those that stayed through to CR2 knew we'd still have a dynamic, interactive storyline.  Oh wait...

Leading on from that point... It is *not* a major change. Cads we lost what was MXO's uniqueness. by technicality it changed, but generally change goes from equal to equal... CR1 - CR2 There was no real fault with CR2 it was the change that as you said drove those away. THis however, is going from bien à mal.. good to bad...

I stayed from cr1-cr2 because i could see the benifits to the system and the good things aswell as the bad... Now however im stumpted please. Set in fornt of me the good points about losing live events to be replaced by these high level quests?

(note: i have been to about half a dozen events in 3 or so years... i'm from uk.)

The CR1-CR2 or Lith-SOE transition have been a reason to a lot of people I've met in other games for saying, "Oh yeah, I've played MxO. They changed it a long time ago and now it's dead."

Sort of like the SWG thing. I just kind of feel like it's round two for us. :/

I don't know how many people said CR2 was the final straw, because I had already quit the game before then. And not because of the SOE transfer, but because I suddenly realized after months of (naively, Id never played any MMO's) playing the game by myself that it was rigged to force you to play with other people. It seriously pssied me off that you got more "Experience" from standing in a lobby while a 50 did everything for you, than i was getting slogging trough them on my own, and actually learning how to play the game. But I digress...

And secondly, however many people complained about it, as near as I can tell CR2 did not add or remove anything from the game (though apparently for the duration of testing, there were no LE's). CR2 basically altered the combat system to balance it right? So while it was a change, it was not a loss of content.

This is a near wholesale removal of that which made this game unique among MMO's. Or at least it seems that way at the onset. Which is why I'm not jacking out right away, I'd like to give Rare time to take this all in. But i can pretty safely say that if this isn't "adjusted" within the next 3 months or so, that I will, in fact, can my sub.

I mean no offense, but half of the wording I'm hearing in the complaints sounds like they're coming from people who have been spending an unhealthy amount of time in game in the first place.

This has been a low pop game for a long time, and there will not be much change...it is what it is.

"...and there will not be much change...it is what it is." when you just said, "I have no problems with these changes."

It's a low pop game, yes, but it had reasons for people to stay even if they weren't in the form of a fancy new coat with spectacular buffs. Those reasons are all but dwindling now, it seems.

I think he's trying to tell us to get a life.

Note to those that might have gotten lost and fell onto this topic :

MxO IS Life.

Now that we've settled that, let's move on.

Would this make you stay in MxO?

If we did get the LE's back (with all that follows etc.)

If we did get LESIG back (maybe a upgraded version..idk)

If we did get the storyline back to where everyone could follow it.

If we did get new toy's for RP's

If we did get new toy's for PvP's

That's all I want for Christmas.

Uh...yeah. I'd suggest going over the whole DN1 and maybe figure out (mostly from Rarebit's short speeches) that LESIG wasn't disbanded, only player controlled liaison officers. So you might wanna scratch that out.

We still have LEs , just no content.

The way i see it, right now, the only toys that we would get for RP or PVP, are from a quick-drive to Toys-R-Us.

- I gotta say Ballak, I never had cable since i moved but after visiting a friend i've realized it's a couple hundred programs of essenceless time wasters.-

-Oh and gj ArchDuke on fixing the post succeeding the one I quoted, exactly the way I would have.-

Thx Sugaree for your kind words, I'd have left your post as a conclusion, but I couldn't help pointing out some errors of judgement in previous posts SMILEY

You're not in the minority when it comes to long-term subscribers.

You're just in the segment that's been labeled the minority.

An example of something not a major change would be pants on gi. This, actually, is a major change.

I don't ever recall anyone saying CR2 was the final straw.  I remember everyone being generally excited about it, and those of us that were on the test server were genuinely impressed.  Maybe it was like that on Syntax, but I don't know.  Those I tested with on Recursion and Vector seemed to love it.

*shrug*

However, if there was an outcry about CR2 that I didn't seem to notice...  there's a lot less players now then there were during the change with CR2.

yeh, im an old vet of MxO from the beta days and i joined MxO to hang out with kool friends and to play the story lines and live events

but now, pretty much all of tat is gone now =(

the cinemas r poor quality with no sound, stupid quests for clothes now to replace crits and no more fun with live events since they're gone now

all this made me decide not to come back completely now, just too disappointing to look at anymore

to only come on just to only farm for clothes??

no thank you , im not gonna waste money on "The Farming Online"  anymore

Traxywaxy, The Ghost of  Christmas Past, asked me to post this:

[18:07] Traxada: "Well welcome to the world of MatrixCraft. So Live events have been axed, well what little live events even existed, and all the LO's have been disbanded, in favour of.....what? A pretty p*** poor animated animatic that has no care for story, clarity, or production values? Oh yeah I'm slating your animatics rare, because they are crap. That negative space style to your work is awful mate, it might fly for the occasional pretty picture you put in the RSI forums, but not for a money making games story system.

[18:08] Traxada: You ought to reach out and approach some of the community to work on them, get some real production values in, then maybe there might be a return to some professionalism to the cinematics.

[18:09] Traxada: Woops keep saying animatic instead of cinematic
[18:09] Ebola: I can change it
[18:09] Traxada: kk theres more hang on
[18:09] Ebola: alrite
[18:10] Traxada: So LO's and live events are gone? Well to be honest you treated LESIG so poorly and gave them no help whatsoever there no surprise that now they are gone people don't really care. Well maybe they do care, did it ever occur to you that some players might want to just jack in to talk to their org LO, have a chat about anything, go on some grinding, help lvl up their org rep so they feel like that have achieved something, put in their salt for the day for their org?
[18:12] Traxada: I really have no sympathy left for MxO anymore, just seems now your about half or even a full year at best away from closing down the servers. Oh well, at the end of the day it is just a game, thats the way I see it, but to some people its not just a game is it? And at the end of the day they are paying for a interactive storyline, this begs the question, where is their money going hmmmm?

[18:14] Traxada: Oh well, just thought I'd pipe in, be lucky waaaaaheeeey! Enjoy your whatever it is craft online, do they even still have the matrix code in the game? Or is it pointy elf ears or something now? Tara!

[18:14] Traxada: Right done

Sorry Trax, I was lazy and didn't edit much.
