Last night I was watching the discovery channel and there was a Matix Docmentary on. It was mostly about the cultural impact of the film series (with some of the usual odd balls rolled out just to make it look dumb) but there was a section about the matrix online! We were on the TV people! But, they couldn't talk to anybody about the Matrix online, so inorder to explain what the Matrix Online was, they got a lead designer from City of Heroes to explain what a MMO was and how the Matrix was an inspiration for them and they got effectily five free minutes advertising about City of heroes and nothing on ours. Was this before SOE's time?

At this point in time I'm going to point the finger at the red tape between WB and SOE

At this point, the message is loud and clear. Warner Bros., 'Lets make an MMORPG based on the Matrix!' Warner Bros., 'Cool! We're gonna need some rules though...' Rule number 1: You do not talk about the Matrix Online. Rule number 2: You DO NOT TALK about the Matrix Online. Warner Bros., 'No marketing campaign, the millions of people that enjoyed the films will have to hax the internets to find out about our product not unlike Trinity haxing the IRS Database in the first film! We will make a pile o' money!'

i think its more SOE's Fault to blame i mean if you rember we were actaully getin theatrical trailers before the game was launched and even comercials during monolith to me i really dont think SOE wanted this game i just felt the took it cause it was the only way they would get DC online that is just my opinon anyway.

Mmm, perhaps, but I'd rather think it's cause it's STILL one of the best looking MMOs in service today. (On a properly-equipped XP machine, that is.) Anyone got a challenger? I've held it up to WoW, SWG, CoH/oV, EQ2, Tabula Rasa, DDO. None of them measure up to MxO's depth of rich detail, character models and animations, environment texturing and AI .. IMO of course, but really, show me a better-looking MMO and I'd love to check it out. /as

Reply to Asna: Eve Online without a doubt, CCP need to take over this game, the graphics overhaul they recently did was breathtaking, the cinematics/texture detail on high etc is stunning, the best MMO graphics ive seen, and 5 years later the ystill get regulay monthly updates, theyve just had an expansion released also, the 3rd one

I thought EVE was all spaceships n stuff. Do they have people in EVE? Age of Conan huh? Hmmm .... I'll check it out. I'm not typically one for fantasy-thened MMOs though. /as

eve is spaceships, you can dock in stations but as of yet cant move in them, and you are represented by an avatar not a charecter, i was using it just to show the graphics, much better than any other MMO ive played, also to show the activeness of the devs for that MMO however they are working on a system where you can get out of your ship and walk around and interact in the stations, each system has loads of stations, and when complete, will boost eve into one of the best MMOs, theyve shown videos of it at the fan fest and the graphics again are awesome for the charecter models here is the trailer for the graphics overhaul they did 4 years after the game was released http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihO9nIMeUYc
