His latest album, produced by Trent Reznor, mixed by Alan Moulder, and help from Atticus Ross, simply kicks *CENSORED*. I'm not usually into rap/hip-hop, but this completely bends genres. Some songs are rap, some rap on a rock-ish track, some outright rock covers (Sunday Bloody Sunday is amazing), some ballads sung over NIN Fragile-ish tracks.

It's released in a similar scheme to Radiohead's In Rainbows, but more so: there will be no hard-copy distribution. If you choose to get it for free, you get high quality 192Kb/s MP3 and a PDF with hi-def artwork and lyrics. If you pay $5, you get a choice of 320Kb/s MP3, or outright FLAC encoding with the aforementioned PDF.

Check it out -- I thought I couldn't like this sort of stuff and after giving the album a full listen through, it's one of my favorites of the year. The last 10 tracks or so are just packed with epic win. You can download it for free @ 192kb/s, and then if you like it, go back and pay for it and get a higher bitrate. That's what I ended up doing.

Not sure if this was the same topic or not:

Either way, <3 Saul Williams, got to see him live myself doing spoken-word poetry.  Even if you don't like hip-hop this guy is well worth the listen...

I'm pumped, Saul Williams is coming to my university next week to do a guest lecture. This album has been stuck in my head all day.
