I've heard a lot about this, but I don't no what it is. I've gone on the site, but that tells you nothing. All the forum topic does is show people saying how great it is. Could someone kindly just explain it or tell me where to find out where it is?

Sooner or later, you are going to realize, just as we all did, that there is a difference between knowing a path and walking a path.

Algorithm Black is an expansive Player Event that has been going on for some time.  It has a complex back story and plot and is so thick with mysteries to be explored, information to be gathered and encounters to be had that it is certainly in the top three of all Player Events in MxO.

Remember, all I'm offering you is the truth, nothing more: http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/..._id=36300017331

Alot of the event information isn't really up anymore, but here is a synopsis from what I recall from reading and participating.

*RSI's with the name "Operative###" started to show up, communicating with emotes only.
*Random data drop videos were silently released to the public.  Those who researched and found them shared.
*Random people were contacted through various out-of-Matrix means (AIM, MSN, XFIRE) and were somewhat toyed with
*Characters Brian Gauss and Kate Sky appeared in the Matrix.  Brian had been investigating certain issues with the power company.
*Operative### characters start talking in riddles, and became more involved with the other players.
*More various "encrypted" videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_lxdm9Mb9o
*Brian Gauss releases a "final message" video, and the Algorithm Black site went live.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7BIsDVNxyQ
*5 to 10 buddy keys are sent out to all registered users.  I used one today, apparently they have no expiration date or a really long one.
*Algorithm Lieutenants showed up.
*The Algorithm releases his first video, promoting peace. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi0KUCthyvg
*EPN video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imtHkc9kNw8
*Kate Sky is awakened, assumes the name "SkyQueene".  Currently on the Recursion server.
*"Real world" event videos show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ-S7eKtlAA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeAsVvZkGYE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNS18x-1N_Y for a few.
*The Algorithm's journal is introduced. Various Operative###'s, Exiles, etc are killed for the pieces.
*http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgFs6nsfV5Q (I think)
*Event Bluepills make their way to Mansdale, the last location that still has power (according to the story)
*The Algorithm kills the event created agent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wth3Z8KCt9M
*The lieutenants appear in Mansdale.  Claim that The Algorithm will use his ability to shut down the farms, killing all bluepills, as his way of ending the war.
*Players are left with a choice, let all of humans in the fields die, or kill the ones around them to assemble a deactivating kill code
*Merovingian operatives kill the few bluepills, assemble the deactivating code and apply.  The Algorithm is stopped from killing all of the podlings.
*Lieutenants are killed.  Remaining Operative### go into hiding, are killed, or something.  Each one seemed to have a unique background.

*Live Q&A takes place, posted.
Foxdie receives a handwritten copy of Kate Sky's diary.
Jack's Wasted Life receives a handwritten copy of Brian Gauss' diary.

I think that's about it for a synopsis.  Currently their next project is called "Snowblind", and they archived all the event posts from the Algorithm: Black event for all to see (bottom of their forums).

MxO-Insertion is wrong... never woulda thunk it.

One does not simply walk into Algorithm: Black.
