The level 50's always get screwed?

During one of my bored times in the matrix, aside from farming for bit 3's and info, I decided to check out the revamped Uriah industries area with the new collectors and see what they offer. To my surprize (not really) you can not start the collectors unless you have an ID card from the tutorial.

Why should I care about the 3 mct pts anyways? I would rather have the clothing since it is open to newbies, it should be open to us as well. We have been through the transistion, the low times of no content and no LET, the high times of server lag and over population. And yet, we get screwed.

It is something that might not happen, but maybe if the lvl 50's could get a one time email with the Id card to obtain the items, and those who dont care can just delete the email SMILEY

Make an alt, get the items, email them to your main.

I'm pretty sure they're non-tradeable. They should have ran a grant script so those that didn't want to bother with making an alt could try it out for fun.

It's nothing huge, but for those that are curious...

Yeah actually I just wanted the pants cus they look better than the bucklepants and give a moderately useful buff......I guess i will have to start a lowbie and get them and send them to my alt.....or are you going to go on and say I can't later pass them on?

This game does have an odd attitude to players in terms of the freedom with which items are restricted to levels....its almost as if they never concieved of people playing after they attained level 50, are they wrong or are we?

I don't think the pants themselves can be traded, 'though I may be wrong on that.

no, they are non tradable. I just looked. so ya...if you want the look of the items i guess were screwed or try to find clothes open to us that look close to them and code them up. *sigh*

and on second thought, why not have this for all neighborhoods? the abiltily to trade up to the mobs attaire, give the boss a special key or something and start the trading proccess in that neighborhood to gain the "Mara" clothes or whatever.

I dont know Ice, I wasnt really all that bummed about not being able to have the clothing, though maybe something for the 3 highest levels 48,49 and 50, their should be some sort of reward for coming that far now that it doesnt take 2 weeks to make it to 50. Maybe access to a uniuqe construct or something.

lol not really bummed out, but just pisses me off that something like this wasnt considered to offer to everyone.

You just answered your own question about why "supposedly" the level 50s get screwed:

Are you really that screwed? This is a task for the lowbies. And also you said it'd be nice just to have it so you can give/trade it to the lowbies. The id cards are nontradable, no, but the npc drops are.

Why is this really that big a deal?

If the only reason you want the clothing is so that you can give to the lowbies, then as I pointed out, while you may not have access to them, you can still do a good deal to make it easier on them by getting the NPC drops.

Genuinely Ice, I can understand why you're annoyed, I mean, it has
buffs sure, but it is good Aesthetically, which, for something well
buffed (for a lowbie at least) is a rarity.

However, by the time a character reaches level 25 they'll be wearing
(for males at least) the +9MCT pants an the +10 DR yoshi trench.

Then again...the pants do look like they're from the 70s, which isn't for everyone :smileywink:

As I said, I do understand your concern, and as a new lowbie on
Recursion, I like the buffs, and the clothes, I think they look good,
but as a 50, i'm really not that bothered.

Why do you have to be level 50 to get this then? Just because you are level 50 does not mean you have been through the highs and lows of the game.

New items are desperately needed for high levels. How about some buffed, dress shoes, slacks, (good buffs) and maybe closed trenches minus the Oriental flair.

i know it isn't 50's only but why should 50's have to get all the best stuff?
they played the longest? Na has i have a level 33 whos /play is longer then my lvl 50.....

Well, just to make you a little crazier, I think the top has 3 rct and the bottom has 3 mct.

Anyway, I don't think they're tradeable, I didn't know they were untradeable and offered money for it. Some poor newbie was standing in the middle of the street nude until they figured out it was untradeable.

I always wonder about guys who use the term "get screwed" with negative connotations. :smileyhappy::smileytongue:
