This thread is for us to discuss places you have been outside your country and where you went.

I just got back from Romania and had such a good time.

Places I went were Brasov, Transylvania, Bucharest, and Wallachia.

I went on the two week Dracula tour and it was amazing..

Romanian Church very old and beautiful

Brasov town in Romania

Vlad Dracula's Tomb grave on Snagov Island. Transylvania

This is the Tomb, where Dracula aka vlad is buried

Bran Castle

Inside castle hallways to rooms, see how small the were back then in size. I'm 5'6 and I can almost touch ceilings.

Views from rooms

Graveyard next door to Bran Castle. Lot of people buried there from the time they were killed or murdered. It was gothic and pretty though.

Vlad Dracula's first and longest Castle he had in Transylvania. IT is in ruins and you had to climb 1500 stairs to get there!!

The Start of the climb

About half way there!

I made it!

My friends ontop the mountain woo!

The beauty for Romania, you can't really get a accurate portrayal unless your there in person, its just magnificent! I went through so many interesting city's here and its so old world and untouched. I recommend this country to anyone looking for adventure.

Things I found amusing..

Their telephone

And the fact they had a KFC SMILEY Their money is made out of a light plastic vinyl as well

Thats all for now, I hope you enjoy the pics!

  "Save the cheerleader..Save the world"

I have been watching this show since it started and I'm loving the whole build up and story development.
The characters are fantastic though I'm alittle confused about tonights episode which was suppose to tell you where they got their powers.

Am I missing something or did it not really tell us anything other then more of the plot.
They seem to still already have the powers.

Also whose your favorite character and why?

I like Heru(Sp) and Nikki.Nikki cuz we don't know if she's evil or not, the doppelganger.
Heru cuz he's funny and so lovable.

One thing I will say its very unique. A superhero show based in reality, I love it.

The Lounge Off-Topic Discussion Aliens Franchise to become Game :) Aliens Franchise to become Game :) Midnight 0 12/13/2006 09:15

Yeah its about time. MMO for the alien franchise to hit in 2009. I'm assuming thats what the Role Play Game means..

Here is the article.

SEGA® of America Inc., SEGA® Europe Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising today announced a worldwide exclusive agreement to bring game content based on the critically-acclaimed "Alien" film franchise to next-generation gaming systems. Multiple titles, including a first-person shooter and a role playing game, are currently in pre-production with the first to be released in 2009. Securing the rights to produce "Alien" titles reinforces SEGA's strategy of combining premium licensed content with original IP to aggressively expand its global business.

"As a direct result of Fox's efforts over the past 27 years, Alien has become one of the most recognized franchises in the motion picture industry," said Simon Jeffery, President and Chief Operating Officer, SEGA of America, Inc. "SEGA will utilize the power of next-gen systems to blend the time-honored story with leading edge design technology to deliver a riveting and suspenseful gameplay experience."

"Alien is one of those special franchises that has continued to thrive in licensing long after it has left theaters. The L & M program has been very successful over the years because we have partnered with the best companies in each category and created appealing products that become must-haves for the extremely loyal Alien fans," added Elie Dekel, Executive Vice President, Fox Licensing & Merchandising. "We look forward to partnering with SEGA, a known leader in the gaming industry, to expand the program to the next generation gaming systems and bring the franchise to life with the newest technology and gameplay."

Since its 1979 debut, Alien and its three sequels have grossed more than $557 million worldwide, garnering numerous awards, including two Academy Awards®. In 2002, Alien was deemed "culturally significant" by the United States Library of Congress and was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry

I personally love aliens they rock..

For those who want to give O.J. Simpson what he deserves, you now have the chance! GSN's newest celebrity scandal game, "Throw the Book at O.J.," lets you stick it to the Juice.

Yes, you can now do what the murder trial jury didn't! The online game lets you literally throw his cancelled book, "If I Did It" at him. The game shows a fictional book signing, where a O.J. dodges flying books and defends himself by throwing back footballs. When you hit Simpson, you not only earn points, but he suffers bumps and bruises. Oh, that does sound like fun!

I got a chuckle out of it.

105,000 Accounts Closed

By Dana Massey on Dec 22, 2006

In a move the company to fight cheating, Blizzard has closed 105,000 accounts worldwide and recovered 12 million gold.

In our continued efforts to combat cheating in World of Warcraft, more than 105,000 accounts were closed and over 12 million gold was removed from the game economies in Europe, Korea, and the US in the month of November. The closed accounts were associated with activities that violate World of Warcraft's Terms of Use, such as using third-party programs that allow cheating, and farming gold and items. These types of activities can severely impact the economy of a realm and the overall game enjoyment for all players.

We will continue to aggressively monitor all World of Warcraft realms in order to protect the service and its players from the harmful effects of cheating. Please note that selling World of Warcraft content, such as gold, items, and characters, can result in a permanent ban of the involved accounts from World of Warcraft.

Many account closures come as the direct result of tips reported to our GMs in game or emailed to our Hacks Team by legitimate World of Warcraft players. If you suspect that a World of Warcraft player is using an illegal third-party program to farm gold or items, or is otherwise violating our Terms of Use, please report the suspected infraction via one of the means listed above. All reports will be investigated, and those that prove false will not result in corrective action.

As always, thank you for your continued support, and best of luck with your continued adventures in Azeroth!

You can read more about WoW on their website.

Ok So I've been trying to get back into the game, and have had all the patches downloaded.

I go to log in and it's fine, it goes to the Loading area and everything looks and sounds perfect. The second I go to load in a world my entire screen goes BLACK but I can hear everything as normal and once the code is done though I can't see anything I know that on the other side I look fine.  Also sometimes it loads properly for a few seconds then goes black and my computer is automatically restarted!

I had crowlos log in to where I was and he said I looked fine and could move and everything. I've tried restarting computer a few times and that doesn't help. We also made sure I had all the newest driver downloads and graphic cards etc. We spend three hours last night trying to figure it out. It maybe ram but i've never had problems with MXO.

Now I have no idea what to do.

We have about 8 people already looking for a few more to have a really cool time.

We went practicing over the weekend where I was staying for Christmas and it was so much fun...

The arena is in the LA area, we will probably be there for about 4 hours. It costs about 20 bucks to play. Not including anything you may want to rent such as face masks, jumpsuits etc.

I suggest buying them ahead of time. Or go to Ebay for them there cheap there. Or go to SpeedyToys.com they have amazing guns really cheap.

We'd like to get 10 to 12 total, so we can rent out the entire place for ourselves. Also this will most likely be in February.

This is going to be one of my guns

I have these two currently. Duels.

Let the fun begin..

Here are their choices..

1) Thank You for Smoking

Similar to last year's awards show darling Crash, Thank You for Smoking was released in theaters early on in the year. The first few months are normally used by studios as the designated dumping ground for films they don't have much confidence in. And unless the studio launches a killer ad campaign, decent films released in January through March each year miss the boat when it comes to gathering awards which, in the case of Smoking, is a real shame.

2) The Queen

If you haven't heard the buzz surrounding Helen Mirren's performance in The Queen, then you haven't been paying any attention. Mirren's a sure bet to pick up a Best Actress nod for her role as Queen Elizabeth, but she's not the only reason The Queen is one of the best films of '06. Stephen Frears directs with a light hand and Peter Morgan's intelligent screenplay takes the perfect approach to presenting the events immediately following the death of Princess Diana. Plus, if the Brits are ever in need of a stand-in for Tony Blair, The Queen proves you couldn't do better than hiring Michael Sheen for the job.

3) Letters from Iwo Jima

Flags of Our Fathers was a fine movie, but director Clint Eastwood's alternate take on the Battle of Iwo Jima is the better of the two films by far. While Flags concentrates on what happened to the American servicemen who raised the flag on Mt Suribachi, Letters from Iwo Jima flips the story around and focuses on the same battle from the Japanese point of view.

Eastwood's subtitled film posed a dilemma for many critics groups. Should it be considered in the Foreign Film or Best Picture category? It doesn't matter because subtitles or not, it's one of the most entertaining films of the year.

4) United 93

When United 93 was approaching its release on April 28, 2006, the argument kicked into high gear over whether or not it was too early to release a feature film depicting the events of September 11, 2001. With the support of the family members of United 93 victims, Paul Greengrass proved he was right in launching the movie into theaters less than five years after those horrific acts of terrorism. I dare anyone to sit through this beautifully done tribute to the 9/11 victims without shedding a tear.

5) The Departed

I've heard all the arguments against The Departed: "It's too violent." "It's not as good as Scorsese's other mob movies." "The Departed depicts women as either hookers or drug addicts - or both." Cry me a river. If Scorsese wins an Oscar for The Departed, I'll be cheering right there alongside the rest of his fans. It's bloody and brutal and nasty, and every single actor nails their performance.

6) Little Miss Sunshine

Greg Kinnear, Steve Carell, Alan Arkin, Toni Collette, Paul Dano and scene-stealing young actress Abigail Breslin share screen time in one of the best examples of a strong ensemble cast this decade. Little Miss Sunshine makes a good case for an Academy Award for performances from a group rather than singling out any one actor. If Kinnear was off, Carell and Company might as well pack it in. Same goes for any member of the cast. Little Miss Sunshine is a group effort that succeeds because there aren't any weak links

7) Half Nelson

Strong, intense, riveting performances by Ryan Gosling and Shareeka Epps are two of the main reasons to go gaga over Half Nelson. Gosling lays it on the line as a junior high school teacher hooked on drugs. Epps co-stars as the student who discovers - and covers up - his secret.

SMILEY Casino Royale

What Batman Begins did for that superhero franchise, Casino Royale does for the Bond film series. Not many films had to overcome as much negative press as Casino Royale had to do prior to its release. Internet bloggers and Bond fanatics were all but calling for Daniel Craig's head during the film shoot. But the Casino Royale team of Craig and director Martin Campbell were able to silence the majority of their critics by delivering a movie that's better than the other films of the series since Sean Connery threw in the towel. Casino Royale made a believer out of me, and I've never been a fan of Bond, James Bond.

9) The Dead Girl

The subject matter's dark and disturbing and so The Dead Girl won't be everyone's cup of tea. But for those, like me, who enjoy their films with more bite than bark, The Dead Girl is the twisted tale we've been waiting for all year. Writer/director Karen Moncrieff shows she has a keen eye and ear for storytelling without posturing. And the performances of Brittany Murphy and Kerry Washington in particular are strikingly raw.

10) The Illusionist

It's deliciously fun to watch Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti square off in this big screen adaptation of Steven Millhauser's short story, Eisenheim the Illusionist. Norton holds back and lets the character slowly find his way to the audience, while Giamatti attacks the story with his usual gusto. Add Jessica Biel (in a surprisingly nuanced performance) and Rufus Sewell (always good as the dashing bad guy) to the mix and things just couldn't get any better. More: on The

The Lounge Off-Topic Discussion Worst Movies of 2006: According to the press Worst Movies of 2006: According to the press Midnight 0 12/28/2006 08:43

1) The Wicker Man

I can't shake the image of Nicolas Cage running through the forest in a bear costume from my mind. A neutered remake of the 1973 thriller, this 2006 film was without a doubt the worst film of 2006 (and quite possibly the entire decade).

2) Trust the Man

An incredible waste of talent, time, and energy, Trust the Man proves that even an independent film with respectable actors is capable of trying to pass off burping, farting and other potty humor as art.

3) Date Movie

This thing was so horrible I got up and left about halfway through the screening. I wasn't the first person to leave the free screening and I was told a mass exodus occurred shortly after I gave up on the film. The writers must have forgotten the definition of parody when they threw darts on a board to come up with this script

4) Basic Instinct 2

Trust your instincts and avoid this mess at all costs. Sharon Stone was perfect for the role back in the early '90s but that's no excuse for repeating the character so many years later. Seriously, do you know a single person who begged for Basic Instinct 2 to be made?

5) Eragon

Before you type up that email letting me know how wrong I am about this film, consider a couple of key points. One, even if you're a huge fan of Christopher Paolini's novel you have to admit the acting in this movie was atrocious. Two, the advertising trailers failed to explain that those thinking of taking in a screening of Eragon would need to be well-versed in the source material in order to make heads or tails out of the storyline. And three, it's obviously an inferior version of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.

6) Annapolis, Tristan & Isolde, and Flyboys

James Franco made some horrible choices in 2006. He clichéd his way through what can only be described as an insult to military films in Annapolis. His hair managed to pull off a better performance than he did in Tristan & Isolde. And the piece de resistance was Flyboys, a $60 million film that brought in $6 million over its opening weekend before word-of-mouth shot it down in flames. Here's hoping 2007 is a much, much better year for Franco.

7) The Wild

I liked this one a whole lot more when it was called Madagascar.

SMILEY RV

If there's a point to this collection of recycled gags it's completely lost on me. Every joke is predictable, every set-up results in having one of the actors covered in poop. Toilet humor can only carry a film so far before it's necessary to flush the whole mess.

9) Apocalypto

The more I think about Apocalypto (and believe me I've tried to block it from my mind), the more I intensely dislike it. I ask those of you who've seen this ultraviolent gorefest, if Mel Gibson's name wasn't attached to this movie would you have been interested? Hmm, let's see. It's about the Mayans and told with subtitles. Women, men, and animals are slain with their deaths shown in graphic detail. Yeah, let's see that one right before the winter holidays. Actually I think what disturbs me the most about Apocalypto was that it got by with an R rating when it so obviously deserved an NC-17.

10) Hoot

Hoot is stuck in the 1970s, and not in a good way. The acting, the dialogue, the premise, every aspect of this film feels rooted in that decade. The main characters don't even use cell phones or instant messages, or wear clothing from this century, yet it's supposed to be taking place now. This very weird, very forgettable message movie never succeeds in engaging the audience. Plus, the adorable owls at the center of the story only get a couple of minutes of screen time. That's just cheating the audience.

Here are my choices

1. Basic Instinct 2

2. Bloodrayne

3. Eragon (Man so disappointed with that one)

4. Posideon

5. UltraViolet

6.  Mission Impossible 3

7. Take The Lead

8. Xmen The Last Stand

Well I went to this last night with a friend.
I was excited cuz it sounded very magical and interesting. Well to my disappointement it was a horrible movie. They toted this as a spanish/english subtitles, adult fairy tale. It wasn't at all, it was a very violent, graphicly violent war movie with a little girl who goes on quests to fulfil her "destiny" but the odd thing is you never any kind of magical world or anything. Its this dark and dreary, depressing film.

Torcher scenes. Inhuman cruelity, so much so I had to leave the film for a breather cuz it was so *CENSORED* depressing. Imagine the surprise my friend had when I called them during the movie (outside in lobby of course) to tell her how bad it was, after discussing how excited I was to go see it.

My friend I went with was a guy and loved it.. of course cuz it was violent and etc, but in all honesty I'm all for a good bloody film (The departed) but this one just didnt fit with the whole story, it was not needed and made the film feel like a horror story more then a adult fairy tale.

My opinion is skip it or rent it..

Do you see gray areas in between the squares?
Now where did they come from?

You should see a man's face and also a word...

If you take a look at the following  picture , let me tell you .. it is not animated.  Your eyes are making it move.  To test this, stare at one spot for a couple seconds and everything will stop moving.  Or look at the black center of each circle and it will stop moving.  But move your eyes to the next black center and the previous will move after you take your eyes away from it....  Weird

Going along with our server wars is hard enough for those who arent machine or vice versa  and we appreciate those who are going along and helping the server out. Going from Merv to Zion  Zion to Merv

Having said that this Nominate a Leader thing can be solved really easily.

Each Faction can create their same Faction but with the recursion attached so it will be easily recongized.

Example FHRECURSION or TC Recursion or  Sirensrecursion etfc or you can do it backwards RecursionFH  or RecursionEndless etc. I think it will solve all problems involving egos and allows us all to still fight along side each other.

Not only that it will keep TS open and you can chat with your faction better.

I personally like this idea and hope others agree.

Just a idea Im kicking around with others.. We may do this.

 Peace

Is there something that you have a passion for that your collect like crazy?

Movie things, worldly items, Unique items?

No matter your age what are some of your collecting passions?

And post some pictures of that collection if you can, be interesting to see what kinds of different things we all like.

I starting collecting things when I was little. The first thing I remember collecting was tigers, stuffed animals and anything with the logo on it. Then it was Star Wars toys, the action figures and trading cards.. My mom is still mad I gave a girl 5 dollars for a sticker card with Princess Leia on it SMILEY. My late teens I started collecting buttons of rock stars for my jean jacket (Yeah you know what Im talking about). Then nothing for along time, till I was in my early twenty's  I got onto that stupid BEANIE BABY trip thing SMILEY That was the first time a obsession really got me into trouble financially, I realized that about a year and half into  the collecting. So I sold them all for a nice hefty 800 bucks and funded my move to LA.

Currently my only collecting is Movie props and Matrix anything. I just obtained the metal throwing stars from Underworld that Selene uses. I can't wait to get them.

If you had to face your fears for 24 hours whether that was to cure you of that fear or to punish you, what would that fear be??

I have a couple first is to be buried alive.. From anything such as a earthquake, to a avalanch to someone kidnapping me and buring me..lt just makes me all sweaty just thinking about it.

Second would be spiders..*shudders* being in a room with spiders for a entire day would probably kill me, from a heartattack. They creep me the hell out.

I use to be a DC girl all the way, but over the last year I've switched over to Marvel.
I really like The Xmen saga alot.. Wasn't to thrilled with the last film but I still like the characters. Im really looking forward to Spiderman 3 etc.

While DC has Batman and Wonder Woman I think overall Marvel is better.

Which do you prefer?
The Lounge Off-Topic Discussion Batman: The Dark Knight Film Update Batman: The Dark Knight Film Update Midnight 0 01/29/2007 11:22

SMILEYWell news just in..

Casting will be underway for a replacement for Katie Holmes who played Rachel Dawes. She has turned down the sequel and a $2 million dollar pay check to do a small indy for less then $300.00.

Personally I'm thrilled at this news. Katie holmes was the only weak link it a otherwise flawless cast. Cardboard acting didnt cut it for me. Also that character would serve no purpose in the next film anyway in my opinion, but if its recast who do you think should play her?

I suggest a unknown.

*Also

Batman: The Dark Knight started filming Janurary 13th 2007

Plot Summary

Batman and Gordon find alliance with a newly appointed DA Harvey Dent to stop a vicious killer with a warped sense of humor known only as The Joker, a threat to both the good, and the evil of Gotham City.

Sounds very exciting.

The Lounge Off-Topic Discussion The Harry Potter Thread: The Fate of Harry Comes to a End: Spoilers The Harry Potter Thread: The Fate of Harry Comes to a End: Spoilers Midnight 0 02/02/2007 08:09

I haven't read one single book but its always fun to have a fun summer movie to go see.

LONDON (Reuters) - The fate of fictional boy wizard Harry Potter will finally be revealed on July 21, the publication day for the seventh and final installment of J.K. Rowling's hugely successful book series.

In what promises to be one of the biggest publishing events in recent years, book stores will be bracing for another outbreak of Pottermania as fans across the world snap up their copies of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."

Speculation has been rife that Rowling, who became a dollar billionaire on the back of the success of the Harry Potter books and spin-off movies, may kill Harry at the end of book seven.

She said last year that at least two characters would die in the final book, and that she understood authors' desire to kill off the main character of a successful series.

Two top U.S. authors, John Irving and Stephen King, were sufficiently concerned over the fictional hero's fate to urge Rowling to spare Potter.

Potter publisher Bloomsbury Publishing Plc announced the release date on Thursday, and added that it remained cautious about its outlook in light of challenging market conditions, although the announcement supported its previously stated view of a satisfactory outcome for 2007.

The Lounge Off-Topic Discussion The Official Xmen Thread: Movies and Comics The Official Xmen Thread: Movies and Comics Midnight 0 02/02/2007 13:18

As a huge X-men fan, mostly cuz of the Pheonix I found it curious that one of the biggest characters wasn't portrayed very well in the last film. My biggest problem is the fact she was not on fire at all, especially the end. But in the second film at the end she does light up saving the ship.. They needed that special effect in the last film.

But Xmen as a whole both films and comics I really love alot, I love the team work and the fact there is more then just one superhero theres a bunch. Good and Evil there is so many to choose from.

Like in the upcoming film who will they use? Will Mystique turn back to evil or will she stay with the Xmen? Will the Scarlett Witch be introduced or Emma frost?

I also wanted to say one scene of the phoenix in the forest with Magneto was deleted and in this amazing video i've found on you tube it is included which is awesome.

It is the evolution of Jean Gray its a amazing video with matching music. It really shows you how she has grown with her powers.
