Update 35 Informaion - Importing Your Buddy List

With the implementation of SOE chat, the database used to store your buddy and ignore list information will be changing. Due to this, you'll need to import your old lists when you log on after the update.
Also because we're moving over to the SOE chat system, players won't "appear" until they've logged on after the update.
To import your buddy and ignore lists:
- Log on to MxO after the update
- Type /importcontacts on the command line and press Enter
The system will add players who have already logged on to your buddy and ignore lists. If you find your list is incomplete, wait a while and use the /importcontacts command again. Please note: The /importcontacts command refreshes your list from the old database. If you delete players from your buddy or ignore list and use the /importcontacts command again, those players will be added back onto your list. Try to refrain from making any deletions to your buddy and ignore lists until you're imported list is complete.
This information can also be found in the patch notes on the launcher after the update and on Data Node One in the Update 35 notes.

Below is the list of changes for Update 46, which is scheduled to release on Thursday, August 24, 2006. Featured Changes The Matrix Online Story Continues in Episode 5.3! The 5.3 Storyline missions and cinematic are now available in game. The first 5.3 critical mission will be available as soon as the patch is live. The remaining four missions will roll out each following Thursday (8/31, 9/7, 9/14, 9/21)at 1:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (0800 hours GMT). White Hallways Open for Business Archivist vendors now sell very special, very expensive keys that give access to certain areas through hallways. These keys require 100 or more Reputation points in the appropriate Organization to use. New "Prop Vendors" "Prop Vendors" at Tabor Park West, Camon Heights Central, and Stamos Northwest hardlines sell a selection of over one hundred prop items. These items have no particular function of their own, but can be traded to other players for roleplaying purposes. Pandora's Box Mission-Spawn Changes Pandora box missions with high NPC numbers were causing significant amounts of lag--the ~30 NPCs per phase of the final mission were likely the cause of most of the mysterious, intermittent lag in north-central Downtown. NPC counts in the following Pandora's Box missions have been reduced; : arc 2, mission 2, "Walking Papers"; arc 3, mission 1, "A Key for Every Lock"; arc 4, mission 3, "Trial By Fire". In most cases, the level of the remaining NPCs has been increased by one. Dead Redpills Flag no PvP You can no longer become flagged for PVP while you are dead. - Gang boss "Big Dog" now drops the access node key at a higher rate. (Matches drop rate for other gang bosses.)
- Morpheus will now appear in mood "regal" in the last chapter one Archive mission.
Bug Fixes - Fixed a bug that allowed players to move at normal speed while using a Stealth Ability. Engaging in an activity that shouldn't break Stealth now prevents movement until the Stealth Ability has re-applied itself. (Fixes several exploits.)

This results in not being able to force interlock or use free attacks on opponents. If you find yourself unable to begin combat, select a Tactic other than Block and the issue will be resolved.

Okay, let's not start accessing the External Playtest server before it's ready, folks. Generally, if we don't make something available publicly, there's a reason. (Just waiting to see the flood of "My version isn't working!!!!111oneone" posts because someone logs on early. )
As far as "soon" goes, it looks like we'll be posting access information today for opening of the server tomorrow (Tuesday, Jan. 10). We want to get the access information out a bit early so everyone can patch as soon as possible.
Unless we find something broken today, things are looking good for tomorrow. Keep those fingers crossed.

Tickets go directly to the Customer Service Team for resolution. Bugs go to the Quality Assurance Team for investigation and will not be replied to.

For anyone who doesn't know, the mostly complete event summaries were accidentally released on DN1 this morning. They have since been pulled down.
This was my fault for not correctly prepping the articles for staging, which resulted in not releasing only this morning's summary, but each day's. Words cannot express how sorry I am for this mistake.
The event will continue as planned as there is little we can do to correct for the mistake at this time. Event characters will be appearing in game today, tomorrow, and Sunday.
Again: It was my misunderstanding of the website interface that caused this error and I am incredibly sorry for the accidental release of the summaries.

Preferred Weapon System The game now features a Preferred-Weapon System for selecting the weapons you want to use for special attacks. Right-click a weapon on your Inventory panel while jacked in and select Set as preferred weapon. From then on, that will be the weapon you use for any special attacks that require its weapon type--even if you don't have it equipped at that time.
- You can set one preferred weapon for each weapon type: Pistol, Rifle, Sub-Machine Gun, Dual Pistol, and Dual SMG.
- If you already have a weapon equipped that works for the special attack you choose, you will use the equipped weapon.
- If you have both a dual and a single version of a weapon that works for a single-weapon special attack, you will use the preferred single version of the weapon.
- If you have a preferred dual-version of the weapon and a non-preferred single-version of the weapon that works for a single-weapon special attack, you will use the preferred dual-version of the weapon.
- The Free Attack dropdown list displays your equipped weapon first (if any), followed by preferred weapons, then non-preferred weapons in your Inventory.

The current version of the Fly in Amber mission (Memento Mori) is set up to only award the mission leader with the final item. As this is a critical mission, everyone on the team will be credited with completing the mission and will not be able to receive the mission again which results in only team leaders ever receiving the reward. We're working on a fix for this right now and will hopefully have it ready for tomorrow's update.
After the update, players who have already run the Memento Mori mission will be able to get it on their critical mission list again. This includes both players who did and did not get the Fly in Amber already. However, since this is a Singleton item, players who have already gotten the reward will not be able to get a new one if they already have a Fly in Amber in their inventories.
We apologize for this issue and will update the game with the fix as soon as we can. In the meantime, you can take the mission solo or as a team leader and get the Fly in Amber or assist other players on the mission and still get the reward once the game is updated with the new Memento Mori mission. Walk of Game is the first-of-its-kind landmark honoring the icons and pioneers of the videogame industry.
Walk of Game is located inside Metreon, a 350,000 square-foot entertainment complex at Fourth and Mission Streets in the heart of downtown San Francisco.
Every year, gamers worldwide cast their vote on www.WalkOfGame.com to induct the next set of honorees to receive a permanent 24"x 24", customized steel star on the Walk of Game. From the list of nominees, the top four in the category of Games/Characters and the top two in Lifetime Achievement will be inducted. Inductees to date are: Nolan Bushnell, Shigeru Miyamoto, Halo, Link (The Legend of Zelda), Mario, and Sonic The Hedgehog.
The list of nominees is compiled from a survey of industry members and technology, entertainment, and gaming media. SCA Interactive, a leader in online promotions, powers the Walk of Game voting interface.
Check www.WalkOfGame.com regularly to keep informed about upcoming events including unveiling of the stars for the 2006 Inductees!

Crew and Faction Data Wipe
With Update 12, we will be wiping all Crew and Faction data from the External Playtest server. We have some stability issues that we believe are being caused by Crew captains and Faction leaders who have not been copied to the External Playtest server and want to see if that is the only issue.
Note: This is strictly related to the copying of characters to the External Playtest server and has no effect on the Live game servers.
Changes and Improvements
- Title Ability upgrades are now reapplied after teleporting via hardline.
- More animation polishing has been done.
- Leveling Write Code now breaks stealth. (Fixed exploit that removed the stealth movement penalties.)
- Data Miner branch is now available by link from the Infiltrator tree.
Bug Fixes
- Shifty Technique now has the correct Coding difficulty level.
- Paralyzing throw now does damage and the effect is properly reported as "rooted" rather than "blinded".
- New sniper rifle with duplicate name has a new name.
- Enhanced Green Milleri Kitten Coat now has an improved Decompile bonus.
- Doctor Upgrade now displays the correct name and description.
- Combat chat now correctly reports that Iron Guard increases Melee and Ranged Defense (not Block and Dodge Tactics).
- Combat chat now correctly reports that Guard Breaker reduces the target's Melee Defense (not Block Tactics).
- All Repair RSI and Restore Health abilities now display the correct icon in-game when used.

The Matrix Online servers will be undergoing maintenance beginning at 4:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (1100 hours GMT) on Thursday, October 5, 2005.
During the maintenance period, we will be running a script to grant the Mobius Code Ability to players who did not receive it during the initial grant. If you did not receive the Mobius Code in the initial grant, please make sure you have at least one free spot in your Code Archive before 4:00 AM tomorrow morning.
The game will return to service after approximately 1 hour. We appreciate your understanding and patience. Message Edited by Walrus on 10-05-2005 03:50 PM

Changes and Improvements
- Upgrade Attacks now has a 20-second duration and a 90-second reuse timer.
- Collector Items have had their special effects changed: Panacea and the Ghost Shirt both now have working icons, while all state-causing weapons (Brightflash Auto, etc.) have had their special effects removed and now function just like the Lancet (no more big hack effects when the stun or blind hits).
- Title Ability enhancements are now indefinite. (No longer have 8-hour timers.)
- Chat text now states when a red or green fragment has been consumed by using the Coder Ability.
- Passive Code is now a self-targeting Ability.
Bug Fixes
- Signal boosters now grant bonuses and show visual effects again.
- Fast Healing 1.0 and 2.0 no longer stack. (Fast Healing 2.0 effect will replace the 1.0 effect if used while the 1.0 effect is running. Fast Healing 1.0 will not replace the 2.0 effect, as the 2.0 effect is better.)
- Logic Blast 3.0 and Logic Barrage 3.0 now use the correct Interlock animations.>
- Bug causing some hit rolls to appear in chat text has been fixed.
- Enhanced Edson BR-23 and Enhanced FM-9SK now have the correct descriptions.
- Bug causing Damage over Time (DoT) weapons to not cause the correct amount of damage has been fixed.
- Movement Accelerator Abilities no longer break Sneak mode.

If you are missing an item granted directly to players, such as Mobius Code, and believe you qualified for the item, you can send in a CCR petition about the issue. If you do so, make sure you select Ticket on the petition before you send it in.
If you have sent in a petition about a missing item previously and have not gotten a response, chances are you selected Bug. You should send in a new petition with Ticket seclected so the CS staff can look into it.

Many of you noticed that the Memento Mori (Fly in Amber) critical missions went missing from the game. They were designed to end on October 10--a week after they became available. However, we failed to pass this information on to you, which we apologize for.
Due to this oversight, we are adding the Memento Mori missions back into the game for a limited time. Beginning today and ending on Thursday, October 20, those of you who have not had a chance to finish these critical missions will be able to earn your rewards.

Due to some unavoidable issues, Update 37 has been pushed back to Friday, October 28. Oddly enough, this was when we were originally going to start the Halloween event.
Unless any additional issues crop up, Update 37 will be available Friday morning and the night sky will go live that afternoon. We know you've been anticipating this event and apologize for the delay.

When you activate one of the Jack-O-Lanterns, a spawn sequence of NPCs will happen on all players within a certain radius. If you have one of these sequences activated, but for some reason do not defeat all the NPCs that spawn on you, there will be a 4 minute delay before another Jack-O-Lantern sequence will spawn on you.
If you find that you aren't getting any NPCs when you're near a JOL when it is activated, then there is probably at least on NPC from a previous spawn left alive. Either defeat the remaining NPCs from the previous spawn (or have someone do it for you) or wait a few minutes. After the timer is finished, the previous NPCs will de-spawn and you'll be able to have a new one launched on you.
Have fun!

We at SOE would like to take a moment on this Veterans Day to recognize all those who have served or are currently serving our country in the armed forces. We salute those who have put their lives on the line, and sometimes lost their lives, to protect the freedoms we enjoy and all-too-often take for granted.
Thank you.

My apologies for not getting this out sooner:
There were a few remaining Crew/Faction name conflicts from the server merge that were only caught recently. The system resolved this issue by adding "_temp" to the end of the younger crew/faction with a name conflict. Leaders of any crew/faction with "_temp" added to their name may petition for a name change using /ccr from in game.
