But its gota be a bridge from atop the docks in International.. and i bet ya gota throw someone off it to land on the docks below to make neo appear XD

Nope, im just a girl that appreciates honesty.

Im not one for all this messing about.. get straight to the point an all that.

Sounds to me like a file has gone corrupt somewhere.  I would try the launcher patch.. ie the one before you accept the eula.  It doesnt take very long atall.
Support Forums General Technical Help and Questions Slow Launcher Re:Slow Launcher Criingey 0 02/04/2008 08:29

Have you contacted Live support?

If the files are corrupt then youd need to delete them first then patch.  The patch will only look for files that are either out of date or not there.

Development Discussion Development Roundtable The Economy The Economy Criingey 0 01/07/2008 08:15

It appears to me that there is no control over the ingame economy.  Historically if you look through real world events if there is an unlimeted supply of currency that currency soon becomes valueless.  I believe this could eventually happen to $info in mxo.

It is far too easy to earn info here and from what ive heard the maximum is some silly amount in the billions and even then you can start sending money to an alt, a crew back or faction bank effectively meaning the maximum amount of info you can earn is almost without limit.  The reasons for this seem quite apparent.  Once you hit 50 and level all your abilities there are very few things you can actually spend info on.  Ok you can buy the org construct key at 100mil but then what?  All you end up doing is collecting info no matter what you do, eventually earning an insane amount of info and not many items to spend it on.

Perhaps there should be some kind of live economy where it makes it harder to retain info?

Any ideas?

I had an idea regarding the timer:

The normal archives version should be moved so it goes diagonally across the lower back from left to right.  Then the special Live Event version can go diagonally from right to left creating crossed blades.  Both can be perpetual, only few people will get the twin blades and as already mentioned, anything new will become a fad and everyone will gain it, but given time, only the die hard users will carry on using it.

I know I wouldn't use it much at this point in time anyway as I dont think it will look good with my current costume.

Couldnt agree more

and

I feel kinda let down that i went to all the trouble of getting the sword after all the missions and yet its lasts a very short time and the reuse timer is a joke.  Now the sword just sits in my inventory waiting for special occasions.. what a waste!

I totally agree with your point about the lower level players MotorZ.  If there ever was a way to implement some kind of control method it would have to be balanced in the correct manner.  I just fear that for the higher level players (especially 50s) that $info will truely become worthless because of a form of inflation and then trade comes in form of items .. then where does that leave lower levels?

Well there are ways and means of making serious info if your willing to put the effort in.

Ie you could grind missions on easy / short, got data mining in certain areas for a while, farming red frags... there are loads of ways of making easy info.. not to mention using the market place or forums to sell things.

Im only level 46 and (through choice) i blew over 50 mil levelling a couple of trees not yesterday.  Wont take me long to get that back up again.

Development Discussion Development Roundtable multiple factions chat Re:multiple factions chat Criingey 0 01/14/2008 03:59

I think this is a fantastic idea.

Being able to contact multiple factions in like an allience chat would be great for both RP and PVP.  The only down side i could see with it would be a possibility of spam in this channel.

It also got me to thinking.  Would it be possible for said tri-org / neutral factions to not carry an allience tag or even a neutral tag.  So like <faction - neutral>

If that was possible what would the implecations be for PVP though?

Also with a Neutral tag.... what about LE's? I'd be strange to have neutral people in an event that could be against another org just to have them working with the other org the next event. I shouldn't think that people would give up on LE's just to have the Neutral tag....

Well that could be interesting in terms of RP.  Think of the potential for spying and dirty cloak and dagger type business that could be done.. if you're that way inclined ha.

I do understand your point though.

A cool idea! SMILEY<img src=" width="15" height="15" /> But I think it would require a lot of work. Receiving chat from a completely different area? There's nothing like that in-game at the moment. There's either area chat (confined to the location you're in, which is no doubt hard coded), or channels, and they don't behave anything like area chat.

Could it be possible to make a channel specifically for this so when you activate the luggable it opens the channel?
Development Discussion Development Roundtable Independant Organization Re:Independant Organization Criingey 0 01/30/2008 03:45

I would love to carry a <SECTION9 - NEUT> tag.

Would you prefer no tag or the neut?

But yeah seeing as i am part of a neutral faction i would love to see something like this implemented.

  -Collbard- wrote:
I understand the idea from a PvP standpoint, but as far as the storyline goes, that doesn't make a whole lot of since to me.  First of all, an independant is going to get in the way of all the other orgs, and most people are going to want to kill you.  Allright, so you think you are cool enough to handle that?  Well no org is going to want a neutral person to participate in their org meetings, so LE's are out.  No critical missions...Basically, thats it.  Interesting idea for PVP, not so much for storyline (unless you don't mind not receivng crits and LE's.  Of course, the neutral players could just do their own events).

Thats not necessaryily true.  What about factions that want to work with / across multiple orgs.  From an RP point of view it can be quite an interesting place to be.  Now the idea about carrying a Neut tag doesnt illiminate you from working with orgs.. just youre beliefs may be slightly different from one org.. if you get what i mean.  So it would be possible to create alliances on all sides.

As far as missions etc go, you could use Rep points to gain access to one org.  The downfall here would be that if one player had mach rep they would have machine missions whereas another player could have zion rep.

Development Discussion Development Roundtable /RSIType Re:/RSIType Criingey 0 02/03/2008 18:12

Yeah i like this idea.

Could even use the loading area to see this if need be.  We currently have a section where we can see alot of details so why not implement it here also?

Support Forums General Technical Help and Questions Disconnected Re:Disconnected Criingey 0 02/21/2008 17:48

This is actually quite a common problem.

I had this previously and this fix seems to have worked for me:

make the following changes in your Matrix Online directory (usually locate at CSMILEY:Program FilesMonolith ProductionsThe Matrix Online or CSMILEY:Program FilesSonyThe Matrix Online):

1.) Please delete all of the following files: client.dll, artpclnt.dll, binkw32.dll, msvcp71.dll, msvcr71.dll, patchw32.dll, autoexec.cfg, options.cfg, useropts.cfg,matrix.exe.
2.) Once those files are deleted, right-click on your Profiles folder and choose "Rename". Add a number to the end of the folder name (such as the number 1 to make the name "profiles1"SMILEY;). ***Please note that you will lose your User Interface settings, maps and hardlines- do NOT delete this folder or you cannot undo this change!***
It might be an idea to back up the launcher.exe, useropts.cfg and options.cfg just incase. With the cfg files just save them as .txt files.

Once complete, restart The Matrix Online game. Toggle a Full System Check from the EULA screen then login.

Once you have entered the game jack back out, go back and rename the profile1 folder you changed back to profile.

Jack back in as normal.

Development Discussion Development Roundtable Missions with a Package Re:Missions with a Package Criingey 0 02/07/2008 03:45

Sometimes the NPCs can take their time getting to 0,0,0 so you can either wander round trying to find them on the way (i found one stuck going doing into a tunnel once) or wait at 0,0,0.

Sometimes the NPCs reappear in the mission area randomly, ie they have been stuck in the walls or something.

No its not.  Its pretty simple to get, just time consuming is all.  A little patience is all you need.

However, this post isnt about that.  I know a few people that simply refuse to wear their Headgear because of this exact reason.  So perhaps this should be addressed.

So does that mean that you can drop your buffs prior to going through a hardline and it will lessen the chance of losing stability?

I know this would be a monumental pain in the backside.. but just wondering.

Dunno if im just being lazy but wouldnt it be nice if we had a command to extract any code bits or frags from our archives instead of having to go into the loading area.

The syntax would be quite easy to configure /extract codebit1 for example.

I imagine the difference it would make to most would be marginal but still thought id put it out there.

im not really fussed about collecting these masks.  I guess now we have more storage available in mail its not such a big deal but in the spirit of things... it is intersting that current characters have maskes.  Hopefully something more entertaining will happen this year.
