It is that thread that runs through every RedPill for every second they spend jacked in. Recognizing this is what makes the Children of the Code unique.

Very early on, the Children of the Code realized that the Matrix gives us purpose. We are the code weavers and the manipulators. The creators and the destroyers and the rebuilders in a very tangible way. The Redpill Special that you leave in the morning trash, we pick up, decompile and then create the mirrorshades you wear to the all-night rave at Polyvinyl. Call it a God Complex. Call it Ego. We call it The Code.

In the very early days of this iteration of the Matrix, Redpills were spurned. The vendors that were to supply skills and gear turned a deaf ear to the Awakened. The Children of the Code were formed to unify those that revelled in the Code and to fill a very vital need to the Awakened. We provided that which was denied by the creators. We did not judge. We provided.

While many of our number follow the main power blocks within the Matrix, ALL of us follow another path. One of purity in creation and re-creation. But despite our politics, the Children of the Code realize that the Matrix represents the waking dream that gives us purpose. We RedPills spend our time swimming in the data streams, within what is a user-configurable Garden of Eden. We have the power to change our surroundings, to change our attire, even to change ourselves.

After a 2 year run, I am finally poised to hit 50!

There will be a small gathering of well wishers at the HyperCube monument at Mara Central on New Year's Day at 1pm EST. Nothing Big. Just a bunch of us Children of the Code watching me break 50 by Coding at once used to be the Coding Center of Megacity.

Feel free to stop by and say hey.

And a little shout out to Jarobi who I watched hit 50 a few days ago downtown. You only turn 50 once and it was an honor to be there when he did. I hope to see him in the crowd...

The difference here is that I didn't sprint to 50 like so many others. It is all well and good to being high level all quick-like but what good is being max level if you don't remember the climb?

I remember all the different paths I took. Aikido, Kung Fu, Gunslinger, Proxy etc. A brief stint as Doctor-For-Hire. And all the while coding for everyone under the green Code sky. These roles were spread out over the months and months, not compressed into one headlong run to 50 using the most efficient route.

No regrets here at all. I guess it is a different value system....

Thanks Folks. It was great to finally make it. I coded myself over the top, of course. Coded up Ability Maker skill, of course...

So why is it that at max level, I still don't have enough memory slots for all the abilities I want to load?? heheh

I, too, saw that they dropped into the mists of non-usability. I
decomped them since I needed the Inv slot but I still have the code in
my compiler in case they backslide.

What I really missed where those Invisibility Grant pills. Made Dungeon Hunting fun!

At least you don't have the "Flying Face" bug affect you. At some
ranges with some game objects nearby, the face of some RSIs fly off
about 2 ft from their skulls. Wrote that up a million years
ago....

You might want to post a message under the RedPill Rescue section fo the forums. That is more appropriate a section.

As for making available the tools for a fully automated bot, I can see
how that would really mess things up. (As much as I would love
something that would automated a compile/decompile process so I can
rebuild my codebit library) SMILEY

I think the level sort will aslo sort based on the developed level for abilities that peopel are selling. ie, submachineguns-15, aikido-45 etc

Strangely enough, I am just finishing up Neuromancer after grabbing it in Audio Book form from thelibrary. I read it when it first came out and am as into it now as I was back then. Ahhh, the heady days of early CyberPunk. Gibson, Sterling, et al.

Is there a concise list of what a given reputation level means? I know that you need a certain rep to start a crew, a certain rep to run the criticals etc etc. Can someone post a table of some sort?

What are the chances of another Ability Buy Back happening for those of us unlucky enough to be Away From MxO when the Buy Back was announced?
