Been to a faction or organisation meeting? Witnessed a serious conflict? Want to tell your friends about it, but don't want to give them a bunch of screenshots or horrible log files? Then this is the tool for you! http://www.glitchsociety.com/format-logs/ 1. Take your evil looking MxO log file (located at [game directory]/Profiles/[your account]/chat.log ) ; 2. Grab the lines you need; 3. Paste them into the form linked to above; 4. Set the options if you need to (instructions are at the bottom of the page); 5. Hit Format; 6. Copy the code that appears and paste it wherever you want! There are all sorts of options available: - Choose from botched HTML (for these very forums), good X/HTML (for Web pages) or typical BBcode (for simpler forums like phpBB);
- Choose to filter out any channel you want (like secret faction chat or /tells);
- Colour the names of important people (or colour their entire messages);
- Format [System] messages to look like *action sequences*;
- Make MxO-chat formatting ({i}, {b} and {c:######} tags) visible wherever you post the logs.
Make the Data Node 1 forums presentable: format your logs! (Just make sure you actually log the meetings/events you're attending: use the /logstart command in-game or hit Alt+L.) Obviously I'm open to suggestions to improve the tool, but I'm rather busy finishing off the rest of the faction Web site.

Yup, it happened last year (albeit not to the same station). They're going to run out of things to give away eventually.

I log everything. (Unless someone manages to sneak a quick message in before I can type '/logstart'.)
*Laughs.* Glad you like it.
Let me know if you see anything wrong, or if anything isn't obvious. I tried to make it as user-friendly as possible.

I've created a stand-alone version of the formatting tool which you can install on your own site (either for convenience or because you don't trust the one on the Glitch Society Web site ).
Please send me an e-mail asking for it. You'll find the link here:

Pfft, the Cypherites are all the same. Well, alright, that's perhaps somewhat of a generalisation, but no single faction can be trusted.
There isn't any faction who closely watches or even cares what their operatives do or believe in. The Blue Order, for example, continues to claim they stand against forced re-insertion and want to help those who choose to be re-inserted to fulfill their dream. And yet they don't care what their members are doing, and accept the likes of Aiyalla into their fold!
This is why I stand against all the Cypherites! The truly peaceful ones are few and far between. By their very nature, this is a group of dangerous, murderous and treacherous radicals.
And you call yourselves Machinists. *Spits.*
*Blinks. Wipes down his console screen.*

I'd move Wright from 'The Oligarchy' to 'Other', 'cos she was never actually a member of the Oligarchy, just someone who managed to steal their override tech. I get the feeling the Oligarchy is going to become increasingly important as the story goes on, and we don't want her brief(ish) appearance confusing things.

Well, all the launcher is doing is telling MxO how you're logging in. MxO then makes the decision as to whether to drop you in the loading area, your last hardline or where you typed /jackout.
All I was saying is that the behaviour you described (viz. appearing at a hardline despite using /jackout) is what happens when you use the -char option. The Station launcher must be doing whatever the MxO launcher does to tell the game to dump you at a hardline, but the MxO launcher itself is still making you select the character.
It's just SOE faffing about. *Shrug.*

That's the same behaviour as using the normal MxO launcher but with your username specified in the shortcut (i.e. "C:\The Matrix Online\launcher.exe" -user myUsername -pwd myPassword -char Procurator ).
Was there somewhere in the Station launcher where you specified your character? I've yet to try the Station launcher myself, so I don't know.
The fact that you appear at the last used hardline instead of where you typed /jackout (if you did use that option) is an issue with MxO, and one I've complained about before.

And thus we welcome Notarux to the fold!
Don't be left out. Improving the lives of humanity and the Machines alike must be done one step at a time. While others aim to clear the skies, improve the surface, deal with outside threats and uphold good relations with Zion, we maintain the stability of the Matrix - humanity's shelter until conditions are perfect again.
Be a part of history, join one of the oldest factions on any instance of the Matrix: go Glitch.
(Corny enough for ya? Seriously, though: we rock.)

Cool, I didn't know players were being added to this. Thanks for mentioning me, Tenshi!
I've got a description of myself, and the three Syntaxian Machinist liaisons. I don't think mine's biased.
Procurator - Second-in-command of the Glitch Society and a staunch Machinist operative of the Syntax instance. He programmed what came to be known as the 'Procurator Virus', which granted the Machines temporary control over Commando access points and allowed them to determine the physical location of Stalingrad, the General's base in the Real. A modified version of the virus was later used to find the base's network address and interrupt the General's hologram transmissions.
Vogt (Syntax, Machines) - The longest serving Machine liaison officer on Syntax, Vogt has been lauded for his dedication, keeping operatives fully informed and securing the most lucrative and creative operations for the Syntax Machinists. He is currently managing the proper conduct of hovercraft battles in the Real.
SIMLO (Syntax, Machines) - One in a line of programmed liaison officers, SIMLO has proven himself to be the most capable and the most flexible. He frequently makes himself available and often converses with operatives from all organisations.
Destinatus (Syntax, Machines) - Destinatus is a friendly and outgoing liaison, who has recently returned to active duty after a lengthy hiatus. He's eager to prove his worth and assists Vogt in regular operations.
Edit: And no, I'm not the leader of TGS.

On Wednesday the 19th of April I'll be reading out faction profiles during Procurator Speaks on Split Infinity Radio.
This is the perfect opportunity to tell your story, let the world know who you are.

I can't speak for how the new features have been implemented as I can't get in-game, but the update itself rocks my decent excuse for a world. Assuming everything works (which, uh, it looks like it doesn't - but it'll be fixed soon, I'm sure!), we've got a new quest, new luggables (that was a nice surprise), a simply brilliant cinematic (seriously, seeing that Sentinel swarm made me so proud to be a Machinist) and some very sexy bugfixes. Finally we can loot those idiot NPCs who get stuck in doorways! Let's just hope they fix the quest issues. After that, everything'll be just dandy.

Update
- As of Update 45, outbound /tells are labelled as [TellSent]. The log formatter now takes advantage of this and correctly prefixes those /tells with 'To'. Older /tells are still subject to some ambiguity as to their origins - this cannot be remedied.
- You can now enter the name of the person taking the log (probably you). This will allow the newer outbound /tells to be coloured using the sender's colour settings, rather than the recipient's.
- Fixed a bug where LET names with whitespace at the end did not get colour applied them properly.
- Fixed a bug whereby empty [System] messages would be left in.
