Gameplay Discussion Districts, Neighborhoods, and Constructs Mob bosses' locations in Richland Re: Mob bosses' locations in Richland zeroone506 0 02/22/2006 05:03

Foxtrot Whiskey Tango...

No, I know the map at MxO archive, the thing is, it's a map, therefore less precise than a coordinate list. If the boss is "dead", you need to kill lots more NPCs than if you have the coordinates.
And then, this map seems kinda incomplete. Maybe because the other gangs don't have bosses, I don't know. However, I'm still interested in such coord. list.

Are the 5 Points the only gang with member loss?

I wouldn't care much about it, but their description texts offer more backstory for the neighborhood underground organizations.

And yes, the district reflow in Richland definetely failed. Lots of evading mobs in the roads, some stuck in the ground. While the new mood are a kinda ludicrous, that's actually tolerable. Especially if they've deleted gang member types, they definetely have to spend a little time for another Richland revamp when there's nothing to do at the moment.

Well, then... I say it failed. OK, I'm referring to the evading mobs on the streets and other bugs like that.

If the deletetion of gang members was intendet, so it will be. The only question that bugs me if any interesting information about those gang members got lost together with their deletion. I don't think so, but it's always good to ask SMILEY

They're all there. If you don't see them at the supposed locations, just kill all gang members around the place. A short time after that, the full group including the boss appears.

And thanks, Stack, now I guess I have all boss locations in the Slums SMILEY Just a dumb question, do these bosses drop anything good, or is their only purpose story-based?

Neo's apartment was just another apartment, I guess.

Seraph's teahouse is apparently part of the other Chinatown from Enter the Matrix, which is (unnecessary to say) not our lovely International District SMILEY

The Oracle's apartment ought to be in Mara somewhere around Debir Court.

If you activate the Atlas and completely zoom out until you see the city overview, you'll notice three lines crossing the bride river. The both left ones are undoubtedly these two highway bridges (the left one being the Reeves bridge connecting Stamos to Chelsea), and the right one is inscribed as "aqueduct". Any clue what it means?

Gameplay Discussion Districts, Neighborhoods, and Constructs Aqueduct? Re: Aqueduct? zeroone506 0 03/25/2006 12:04

I know what an aqueduct is, I just didn't take this bride river for an aqueduct and thought there was an additional aqueduct system between the south and north part of the city (i.e. Richland and Downtown) and where maybe there's a section of the tunnel that might be accessible. Of course, it was just out of curiousity.
If the mighty bridges aren't accessible, why should an invisible underground tunnel be? I just wanted to ask what it was, and apparently it's really this bisecting river.

Just one things: When will people stop calling the guy "Locke"? One European philosopher's (1632-1704) name was John Locke. A popular character from "Lost", played by Terry O-Quinn, is called John Locke. But the Zion Commander's name is JASON LOCK.

The aqueduct was already designed by the original Matrix around John Gaeta team when they created the city for the sequels.

And where was it in the movies?

Gameplay Discussion Districts, Neighborhoods, and Constructs Other Mob Bosses Re: Other Mob Bosses zeroone506 0 04/04/2006 04:16

If any of boss locatios miss at fansites, it's because they and their gangs don't drop access keys.

Apart from four bosses in Richland, no one drops keys -- quite reasonable because those would be most obviously for Richland itself.

Both in International and Westview, every single gang drops its own access keys (either for the district itself or for south of Downtown) and therefore all bosses are listed.

In north Downtown, it's similiar to Richland, but the other way round: Since the keys for all neighborhoods north downtown are already dropped further to the south, there isn't any neighborhood to farm keys and therefore the local bosses shouldn't drop any and aren't listed on most websites.

Gameplay Discussion Districts, Neighborhoods, and Constructs Another District Reflow Re: Another District Reflow zeroone506 0 04/16/2006 02:25

The district reflow didn't only change the gang levels, but also their emotes and abilities.

In Richland, they used some sort of algorithm to change the NPCs' behaviour, and that backfired. So before any further district reflow is considered, I'd love to see all the evading mobs vanish from the Richland roads. Especially Downtown would lose a lot of its flair if mobs were hanging about on the black streets.

Disarming during combat isn't possible any longer. I don't really have a problem with that, but I miss the cool disarming animations. Well, first of all, a few positive comments to the OP:

Maybe it's not the best thing to use such a bold size, but I haven't anything against long reading. He used this place for some relatively constructive suggestions and therefore I'd prefer to keep from comments like "this is for posts not for novels... just read "metamorphoses" and just a bit tired". It's funny to read but doesn't really contribute anything to the point.

However, just like absolutely everyone here has pointed out, you really seem to have overlooked the "hostile"-byname of the server you're playing in. You're suggesting "voluntary" PvP without actually knowing that that's exactly what the other two servers offer. You don't wanna get ganked, so then don't type /pvp or involve yourself in a battle in any way (no matter if attacking or healing). And you can have your fun. I really have to add, the fact that you couldn't figure it out with your 25 years experience (several MMOs have hostile and non-hostile servers, you know) and now posting it with such a self-assurance is just embarassing. Maybe the reason why you haven't replied yet.

And the second point of yours I don't "agree" with is those immature players who can be something they can't be in the real. Well, I have to admit some Vectorites match your description: They think their PvP server is the only "real" one and comtemptuosly look down to the other ones calling them "carebears". Some even suggested to let the Vector players vote for new characters because it's such a special uber place. Although, of course, most of those comments are more or less humorous and sarcastic, I sometimes have the impression that certain people mean it.

But... you're definetely exaggerating it. You act as if going to an other hardline is such a big deal... heck, just select a hardline in the same neighborhood and walk a few minutes longer. And obviously you really take this game too seriously. You can't comprehend that this is really a game and you should watch your back yourself -- especially since you've chosen this server yourself.

You know... some people talk about hatred-speech and insults coming from players who were just killed in PvP. For the "normal" players who are conscious of the fact that this is just a game (and I try to be one of those), such a behaviour is imcomprehensible; all they can usually reply to this is really the "chill out man, this is just fun". Then the enraged ganked person reconstructs and leaves all others in perplexity.

Well, obviously you just revealed yourself as one of those people. Maybe you don't start throwing profanities in others's faces and keep your anger to yourself (which would be undoubtedly good), but the point is the same. You don't understand this is a game and blame others and the programmers for something the server you've selected is designed for.

I think players shouldn't disturb live event meetings by starting battles, but in all other cases, just watch your back and take the hostily of your server as a challenge. (which you can easily master by hyper-jumping away right after materializing in the Matrix).

That's all. (was that longer than war and peace?)

The Super Brawl has never taken place in Westview (where the Hotel is located). Apart from the Downtown-typical black street, that place was full of shiny skyscrapers, on both sides of the street.

So if this street would be in the game, it could only be in Downtown, because it's the only district with skyscrapers -- at least Westview has none at all.

However, if you look at the end of the sequences where the camera zooms out, you'll see the street system quite clearly. It's not rectangular like the whole Mega City we know from MxO. So maybe there are other districts without such a strict shape, but it's hardly in the game.

However, this doesn't speak against the Le Vrai SMILEY

Gameplay Discussion Districts, Neighborhoods, and Constructs The Oracle's apartment is not in Mara The Oracle's apartment is not in Mara zeroone506 0 04/20/2006 03:56

... at least not in the movies. Just look at the sequence were Neo flies through the city and lands on the building rooftop.

First, he flies through a Downtown-like district with shiny tall skyscrapers. Tabor Park to the east of Mara has quite tall office buildings, but they mostly look shabbier and lower than those in that sequence. To its north, there are Uriah and the aqueduct, and to the West, the Barrens. So there's no Downtown-like area anywhere near Mara.

After he crosses a road, we see a number of apartment buildings with a similiar shape like those in Eshean, Moriah and partially in Magog. Between these buildings, you can see trees. It really doesn't look like anything near Debir Court.

Any thoughts?
