PBlade wrote: Will you be considering the hotbar proposals put forward by the players? As there's some controversy over the current one for CR2.0
Look, if you guys are gonna get this upset over the hotbar, maybe we'll just remove it entirely! Now you got no combat UI, and no way to run macros, single-click use items--we just streamlined the game for you about 300%!
Seriously, though, we have no intention of reducing the number of non-combat hotbar buttons you have available during interlock. That screenshot did not show everything that will end up going in with the combat update, as far as my understanding goes.

I don't know if I'm supposed to divulge the exact particulars or anything, so I'll just say that yeah, you're on the right track. A mix of expensive commercially available products, and tools developed in-house for stuff specific to this project.

Actually, there is 5 Helipads in Downtown... 1 that is just outside our bounderies, unreachable.... and 4 downtown... Got the pics of them too if you need them for your records.... i can send them to you via PM ;P

Very astute! Yes, I noticed both of those over the past week--one off the map to the east, I think it was, and one that I hadn't noticed before in Vauxton or South Vauxton or whatever. Heck, there are probably even a few more.

I have little idea how those work, but I'm guessing that they require the time of a database administrator, and a DBA is about the most expensive guy you can find, so the answer is probably no. I have to beg and plead for months and months to get any DBA love myself for little design features I need (*nudges Walrus and hopes he remembers that request we put in about database tool for Live Event character name overrides* .

I can't remember, exactly. It wouldn't have been a surprise, because most of the people I had worked with on AVP2 as QA Lead had already moved over to MXO. As far as I can recall, it was mostly a feeling of relief that I wouldn't have to worry about shipping a Gold Master for at least a few years, mixed with a lurking dread that finishing up the game could very well be the most crushing crunch time ever.

-----------------
Is there a chance we can get a new board on this forum where only developers such as yourself can create threads, and those threads would include screenshots and chatlogs from all the important live character interaction occurring across all the servers? For example. Threads could look like this:
Syntax – Niobe requests operatives to train commandos Vector-hostile – General’s commandos gatecrash Merovingian’s Party Recursion - Masked men attack Mara C
And so on... It would make it easier for players to be able to check one forum and see all the important happenings within the game rather than searching each private board.
It could be set up like the Broadcast Depth forum, where only team members can actually create the threads but anyone can reply to them.
Oh man, and here I just spent time typing out a reply to your IM. Oh wait, I can just copy and paste that here:
Ooh, but that puts pressure on me to keep producing logs and screenshots all the time!
Hrmmm. Maybe I'll see what Walrus thinks.

'Cause it hasn't got fixed yet.
I did find something funky with the configuration of the hyperjump sound fx though. If this configuration issue is the cause of the looping bug, then it is, at least, fixable on a case-by-case basis. We need to get some resources replaced and do some testing.

*That's for my own self preservation *
Don't worry about it. We're pretty good at ignoring spam, even Mara Central style. If we have a problem with your messages, the Live character will either let you know by RP, or by putting your tells on /ignore. If it's real disruptive spam for others during a live event, we can admin silence you temporarily. But until one of those things happens to you, as far as you should be concerned, you're in the clear.

The new Stealth system is still in design, and it isn't yet finalized what attributes or stats or whatever will affect it. We'll fill you guys in as soon as we have that worked out. And when the combat update moves into Live, everyone will be given the chance to reassign their attribute points however they like.

Actually, Frog recently switched Ookami over to Assassin. Veil, in theory, is also an Assassin, or something close to it.
If you're talking about computer-controlled NPCs, then the answer has to do with what abilities we're able to teach them to use effectively. They can do knife throw attacks (the Dire Lupines do these at higher level), but our AI aren't able to do complicated things like sneak attacks and so forth.
