Just as you spend some time recovering from one wound, another opens up. I find myself unable to keep up these days. I'd rather jump ship while I've yet to fall into a downward spiral. I fear the time is approaching when that's what will become of me what with all of the conflict amidst Mega City. Kill codes are being manufactured for Redpills now? Despite the system's resources being utilized on known terrorists, it's only a matter of time before the wrong hands find their digits wrapped about the right tools of murder. I am losing my faith in the system itself. I suppose I have Agents Betts and Purcell to thank. Of course if it were up to them it would all amount to my petty human concerns. While the secretarial program that handled Lucite's affairs made contact with me, it was Purcell who'd tracked her code signature to the clandestine meeting. I suppose it was generosity that permitted them to let me live after consorting with a rogue resource, but I saw no crimes being committed by this particular Exile. If anything, she wanted to help me...

Guard the corpse. Those were my orders. Even as Betts struck her down he didn't even so much as flinch to acknowledge my demands to let the program go. I even resorted to challenging the Agent and stood my ground for what I felt was right. Purcell insisted that I am emotionally attached to Lucite's affairs. Of course I am interested only in what connections she has to the Merovingian without being entirely in synch with what the other Exiles want... What the unfeeling Agent program did to the Exile was dishonorable. For the sheer fact that I was present and yet unable to do anything, I feel in some way responsible for what had transpired.

Standing here now, I think over it all... Over my bitterness, my hatred, my rage... I've even resorting to lashing out at the system and the code I revere so much. I've began a road of regret that I cannot easily deter myself from. I figure one last unfulfilling attempt at retaining some sense of dignity, some sense of honor, is worth it. I offer my apologies and my services to Lucite and make my offering to the Undeclared status and shelter amongst the Exiles.

So I step outside of that meeting with Lucite, recognizing that she would rather kill me than take me as a replacement to the departed assistant. I do not wish to turn on the Machines so much as I refuse to take orders from Special Agent Purcell or Special Agent Betts at this time. I step out into the rain that continues even now... I step out with an air of clarity about my head. I am tired. I am exhausted; I've grown weary with all of my duties. E Pluribus Neo runs rampant and terrorizes the system. Merovingian operatives plot on other Redpills. Zion continues to struggle against what the Machines know to be right, and yet now I challenge what is really right out here in this digital jungle. I'm tired. I said that already...

Someone once told me they killed a level 50 with their level 35 before CR2.
Someone also told me they got to do Pistol Evasion in bullet-time.

Getting the 400 codes isn't a problem at all. They can be easily obtained in a week playing an average of 4 hours daily. The problem will be killing the corruptors, it will take enormous amounts of farming to get 5 pieces for just one player even with an entire team, imagine getting 5 pieces for each player on the team... Are you a solo player? Forget it. The huge effort would be justifiable if Patcher's Headgear was without a doubt the best hat in-game, but it really isn't that much better than a Sakura. I wouldn't recommend doing it unless you're obsessed with collecting things. I know for sure I'm not doing it until they adjust the 5 Corrupted Codes requirement or at least make flit guns useful. As it stands right now, this is seriously a job. It makes Pandora's Box look like a content masterpiece. I'm installing Quake 4, since there's no Wasteland Corruptors in it. :p
Since I don't have a team most of the time, I'd need to farm roughly 650 frags just to have the insecticide to kill one of those things. I started attacking one the other day and I sprayed him three times, then had to go away so I could fight Corrupted. When I returned to where the Wasteland Corruptor was, he'd since un-spawned. Wasted effort on my part.

One question Mr.Redalibi, have you ever used the Rifleman/Sniper tree? The way you talk about pulling off a "Hot shot", as if it's easy to do tells me you haven't even begun to see what it takes to get the damage needed to do 800 damage per free fire hit. It also tells me you're most likeley a Martial Artist, with low Ballistic defense and Ballistic Resistance. You say it's possible to kill someone in 4 to 5 seconds, but you haven't thaught of what the sniper has to do prior to actually firing the weapon, he has stealthily to get into position, activate an ability that will give away his cover for a moment and then quickly move into the concealment position, after this he Lines Up His Shot giving away his position once more, then finally he begins to charge a Sniper Shot, followed by whatever attack he may wish to use after, and believe it or not yes, they do have a chance to fail. I would say all of the above combined takes about 20 or maybe more seconds to prepare before actually firing the shot. The damage boost you're talking about lasts maybe 10 seconds at most. If the Sniper that uses this tactic misses a single shot against you, you're more than likeley to live. Go load the Rifleman tree, try it out for yourself. Then load up Spy, sneak into a crowd of reds without a team, disable a shield and sneak attack them, then load SMG's, see what it takes to get someone Dazed and pull a Redux, then see how easy it is to get someone Off-Balanced/Dazed/Staggered and then land double state specials on them with an MA. I know performing a "Hot Shot" is far from the easiest of the bunch. A Rifleman has his weaknesses and strengths just like any other load, keep on your toes and get him in interlock. I think you have said it best. It's not that easy to kill someone when Power lowers your accuracy and you have a higher chance of missing. I've missed many Sniper Shots and I always have to get into a new position (if the targets don't realize where I am while visible, giving chase). However, because of Power and Line Up The Shot... If I don't miss, it's going to hurt. Regardless of most people's loads, their health goes down typically by two-fifths and sometimes more than that. That's with the first hit. But there's time invested prior to that and if I miss, that time is all lost.
Generally speaking, people hate Snipers as much as I hate the Zerg loading nothing but Kung Fu and SMG Specialist. Some people pick their loadouts based on what everyone else is doing. Proof in the loadouts that you see nowdays versus the ones you used to see all the time. Remember the abundance of Ballistas before CR2? I was always a Gunman first and foremost. I will play as a Duelist/Sniper if I can help it, because it's my strongest IL build as a Gunman. If I want to PVP and live, I'll load up my pure Sniper load as it works well when I am taking on a small force. I can kill one without dying, which is something that doesn't always happen with my IL build. It's no worse than the craze of everyone going MKT or Master Assassin because they've been punted a few times and went "Wow, that's a lot of damage!" Months ago, everyone was an Expert Rifleman. They stopped when they saw how tedious it was. Don't change Sniper/Rifleman. It's fine.

It doesn't have ANY animation. Sniper abilities don't even involve a rifle. You just stand there, as the Finger Of God strikes your target for damage.
You're concealed, so it doesn't really matter I suppose.
And oftentimes Snipers do get nicknamed 'God' for their default position - because of their position, able to see everything due to their vantage point. Of course a lot of that can be chalked up to myth and cinema, but I feel that when you put it the way you have it's rather fitting. And Sniper abilities alone doesn't kill a person. Sniper Shot, freefire, Immobilizing Shot, and freefire (or Three Round Burst followed by another freefire) does.

I think it is awful that those of you out there who worked together with me, in ML and LET, would assume that all Machines are without emotion. You have to understand that we feel as any others do. As a purveyor of the System's will, I am a redpill operating to ensure the stability of it. Just as The Watchmaker, as Agent Pace, and Agent Gray. It's my belief that all feel just as you, only we have a sense of obligation to the Source unlike you.
It is the moment that our feelings lead us away from responsibility into regret, that we become that what is feared most: Rogues. In becoming one, exile is the next logical step. We do not stagger away from our goals, as they are neatly laid out in front of us. We follow our path through guidelines, not chaos.

I've been spending my time mixed between searching for homes within Zion's space in the Real and wondering at just how long this Peace will last. Of course, I'm being reminded that due to certain Merovingian operatives -- Red Pills employed by the Exiles -- there is plenty more work to get done before I am finished. I'm still tired. I'm still exhausted of this. Still, the System needs its resources. Ronin. Systematic Chaos. Likwid Hyuzu. Silent Shadows. The Initiative. Hell, even Reviled Restoration despite their Cypherite ties. I briefly thought as they did and while my agenda runs parallels, I feel it's appropriate that I reside where I do. I'm borrowing access to the Matrix via a Zion hoverbarge, but that's only because once I'm in there is no way to distinguish that the dark-haired, green-eyes fellow Jacked In next to you is the same green machine pointing a Bedlam up to your temple in a threatening manner. I may live in Zion, but that's all for the flesh outside. I'm here -- on the inside -- to carry out Machine business... One more time.
For Agent Pace, sh*tloads of operatives would do a Hell of a lot more than see to the correction of their own errors. Of course I expect that I'll be assigned to Special Agents Purcell or Spearing as more information is forthcoming. Still, the issue at hand is not their problem despite the risks they pose. It's my problem. It's my *CENSORED* problem.
She's curt with me. I guess that's the kind of charm I have with the ladies. I wonder why they're all curt with me. Pace, Tytanya. Hell, even my conversation with the Oracle was a mere "Thanks for helping my friend to restore his missing code." I can understand Tytanya's aggression. I've tested her Emergency Jackout Procedures a few times. Still, that doesn't explain Pace. Maybe her mind's still on Ghost. Feh. Greetings, Rosapillore. I'm uploading to your PDA the last known location of the simulacra.
Fun. It's here in International. Hitting a bit closer to home than I'd like to imagine. I prefer keeping business Downtown or out in the Slums. It's not very far, but I'm going to need to take out the Surveillance. First, I'm going to need a d*mn Hardline. I need my equipment. Alot of good a PDA and a Lancet will do with all of the mercenaries running around out here. Perhaps once I've ran out of bullets I can toss the PDA at their head as if it were a neurodart.

A bit more like it.

A decent workout. I have a feeling I'm in need of that warm-up, too. The Program has attained a dysfunctional level of intelligence since taking damage back in Camon Heights. She's operating beyond her parameters and seemingly against us. She's becoming a nuissance, excelling in proving my inability to keep tabs on all of my affairs. You create a sim to hack systems while you're away and it turns out hacking exactly what it shouldn't have any part in. Such is the nature of a hacker, I suppose. Of course hackers questions not being allowed a certain task; it makes them want it that much more. Fine. I'll find it. I'll kill it.
It should be somewhere around Akasaka.

Some may perceive RP to be irrelevant, and/or not to their taste, but that doesn't mean yous can't immerse yourself a little bit more and see what happens. Do not fear the RP, it won't bite (Unless you write that into your story for some bizarre, twisted reason).
I happen to like it. I don't comment with negativity on the NR boards when I don't like something because I feel there's plenty that could potentially be up for interpretation. However, there are some static pieces we all adhere to and it shows. I happen to like Bluepill politics, breathing life into the cattle/fodder/randoms as if to suggest that we're not the only ones here. It's still the Matrix, no matter how many Red Pills are jacked in at a given time -- remember, there's tens of thousands that aren't free yet.

The level of involvement that Morpheus' Legacy takes in EPN affairs has been an issue for quite some time. They've done very well working alongside Zion and the Machines. Now they throw it all away on trying to defend the reputations of known hostiles - terrorists. If Cryptos was so fake, then how blind is The Kid? We may have been told all along, but how long have you been told that your leader's charade is all a cry for vanity. Michael steals glory from his Savior. This is no reverance. It's bloodshed. And this is what you want, Mr. Hill?

## INCOMING TRANSMISSION //SOURCE HvrBrg46607 Thank you for returning my rogue simulacra to me. The Machines operatives present, from various factions, proved their worth in the battlefield against the Merovingian Operatives attempting to struggle for dominance over the program. Any foresight at all would attribute their efforts to an attempt to gain more control within the simulation. My simulacra had gone through some shocking changes that are now being dissected for research. The goal, at this point, is to discover how Lucite managed to damage her so badly and to keep such Exiles from gaining the upperhand. Situations like these are to be avoided and hopefully our study of the program will find a way to correct future manifestations of rogue code. It could have been a random anomaly, which is the theory I am left to at this point... Or it could be evolution, as the Merovingian operative Tytanya stated... Still, the program exceeded its original programming. Unacceptable to the Machine Organization, her growing awareness and gathering of operation codes beyond what was previous approved had become dangerous. Her removal from the simulation was a necessary step to prevent disruption of system stability. With this threat no longer in play, I can focus on other priorities such as those loose ends previously mentioned. While I am Ronin, I have had the chance to meet up with another side... Hopefully, with my new contact, I will have the opportunity to find the answers to my prior concerns. I won't necessarily have to go back to sleep, but I can change up my pace a bit... There are those who would like to go back. There are many who do not need to be woken from their slumber. Then there are those who cannot rest. Upon my return from the caves, jacked out of the System, I realize that there is plenty of work to do. Then I can finally say oyasuminasai. - Bryce. ## END TRANSMISSION
With the simulacra now in Machine custody and rumors of Morpheus being alive subsiding, now is a time to lash out at the only thing threatening the stability of the System. The unaware Bluepill population will soon able to put their minds at ease, if but one more problematic situation is resolved: Now is the time to strike out at the Exiles causing disturbances and threatening what peace remains. To protect the Matriarch of the System, to disrupt the plans of the Merovingian, and to purge this world of all its demons.

## Recorded Audio-Visual Surveillance Transmission.
Warblade: ... Insertion: Well, well, well. Of all the people to run into. Warblade: Mr. Carroll.
In that instant, guns are drawn from both the side of the Merovingian...
...and the Machines.
Both are reserved. It's undeniable that Insertion knows how determined Warblade is. Dodging behind one of the massive pillars in the room, Merovingian freelancer Christopher Carroll readies his preferred method of execution. Warblade: I picked up a contraband signal in the area. It didn't take long at all for me to figure out it was you...
Insertion: Your Bedlams are empty, Bryce.
Warblade: And yours. Got knives? Warblade sneered from behind the wall of another pillar. Despite the range leftover between them, he felt as though he was back-to-back against his opponent. He no-doubtedly felt his nemesis' adrenaline in addition to his own.

Insertion: Already ahead of you...

Both strike each other simultaneously. Short-lived victories for either side, they are mere grazes -- fleshwounds -- to be considered as after-thoughts within this world.
Insertion lashes out at the Machinist, forcing him to reel out of the way. It's the perfect opportunity...
...to dash...

Retaliation. Self-defense. It is the only way to ensure escape.

Warblade has become more than a nuissance. Insertion: This isn't just about the Professor, isn't it?

Insertion: This is much more personal, isn't it? Insertion gains the upperhand through psychological warfare.

Falling, it takes a few seconds for the Machine to gather his wits and realize that he needs to land on his feet or risk being ejected from the simulation in a most uncomfortable manner. Straightening himself out, he lands on the highway below... Only not expecting the prey to follow...
Insertion: Ahh, so it's been since The Watchmaker? Insertion grins wryly. Warblade: Our feud is an old one...
The rest was a blur as he could not tell whether or not he struck his enemy.
Only that the moment had passed. Until next time. Warblade: Operator.
Comm: Report?
Warblade: Target lost.

There were a few other shots taken, but I felt the expression of "W-T-F" on my RSI's face was priceless here. Overall, I am getting better with these but it's still a work in progress.
The next NR thread will have a guest Machine and the one after that should feature a mercenary I've mentioned before.  )

Zion field officers have proven unreliable. They dig up too much trouble for themselves. Perhaps it is time for operatives to adhere to the Machines.

Very good, TM. I like the change of pace from the usual constant of violence... It's more focused on emotional resonance.

## Incoming Transmission... //SOURCE Recorded Update: The Merovingian Operative, Insertion, has not been seen within the simulation since that evening. It's possible that while he did not show signs of being mortally wounded during our scrap in Center Park, an unquantifiable amount of damage was sustained by Mr. Carroll. He did well to supress it; visibly, the mercenary seemed composed up until the moment he faded from view. Later on, after analyzing systemscans of the area performed by my Operator, it was discovered that Insertion had in fact made his way back to the nearest subway station -- the orange line -- where he no doubtedly staggered his way out of the simulation. It should be a while before we witness his re-surface. - Bryce. ## End Transmission

I can confirm that this has happened to me with my Rifleman and Duelist loads. And it's exactly the same; everytime you die, not just if you die with X ability loaded at Y time while being hit by Z attacks.

Those consumables also use those damage types. Back in the day, I could milk sweet sweet damage out of Enhanced Silver Bullet + Firearms Skill There was also a Passive Bonus in the Gunslinger or Duelist tree, back when CR2 was first launched. Something about a 7 extra levels in Silver Bullet attacks? I don't remember entirely; it was wierd.

Shouldn't it be possibly for certain gangs to drop their own gear from time to time? It goes together with the suspension of disbelief if we're taking something from them that's theirs? Would aid RP as an infiltration tool as well. Even if the black Demon Army Trenchcoat isn't buffed for a level 50, it would be nifty. It'd be the same if we could acquire the White Security outfits. We already have most of the Guillotine gear.

The Mission Map tells me that those three Elite Guards shooting at me right now are two rooms away. I smack it against the wall, mutter obscenities, and shout out to my operator that my scanning equipment is broken before pulling out my guns.
