The profanity filter on the forums is there for a reason. Attempting to by-pass it to post words that are filtered can result in a forum suspension.

- Avoid sending private messages to developers asking gameplay-related questions. When we can answer questions posted about general gameplay, we will. We won't however, reveal anything privately that we won't reveal in public.
- Don't send private messages asking SOE folks to read a particular thread.

There is the complete process.
Could use some more nominations actually, especially from Recursion and Vector-hostile. A female nomination would be a nice change as well

Would that include changing British English spelling into American English spelling, or do us Brits get to use our language as it was intended? " />
LOL
Even though I love Brits, unfortunately, I only know how to edit in American English

The Matrix Online Story Continues in Episode 9.1! Chapter 9.1 begins with a new cinematic and critical mission on Thursday, 11/15, plus a new critical mission follows on the next four Thursdays: 11/22, 11/29, 12/6, and 12/13. Chapter 8 Missions Archived Archived versions of the chapter 8 critical missions are now available from Archive Vendors. Get all nine chapter 8 mission archive tokens by completing the archived subchapters for each organization. Turn them in to one of the Organization Collectors for the chapter 8 mission archive reward item. Changes and Improvements - Organization collectors now offer tickets for archived chapter 8 missions and a new FX reward item for completing them. The collectors also offer organization-inspired rewards for turning in all completion tokens for a single organization's archived chapter 5-8 missions.
- Mission archive chapter reward FX items now have a System chat panel activation message.
- A new option has been added to the Options window on the Game tab. The new option is Scripted Bullet Time Camera. This option controls whether or not your camera goes through the scripted bullet time behavior when a bullet time animation plays or stays where you have placed it (distance or position relative to the player's model.)
- There is now an option for turning off the scripted bullet time camera in the Game Options > Advanced Key Bindings > Camera window.
- Toned down the viral deflection FX and made it fade in and out smoothly instead of popping on/off.
- Ability interlock accuracy bonuses are now shown. These are the base values added to a player's total and are not reflected in the player's bonus panel. These values are influenced.
- Doubled the buffs of the special event/reward items with level-scaling Resistances: Anniversary T-Shirts, Demon Army Trench (Merovingian chapter 1-4 archive reward), Security T-Shirt, Verdigris Shirt, Formal Gloves. The buffs on these items now range from +2 to +22 in all Resistances as player level increases from 1 to 50 (the old Resistance buff range was +1 to +11).
- Reduced the shine on the large revolver slightly.
Bug Fixes - Corrected "critical" to "archive" in the details text of archive clothing reward items.
- Pulling a jumping player into interlock with an ability will no longer prevent them from using their own abilities
- Fixed the order of messages on a computer in phase 2 of Sunshine's second mission, "Night for Day."
- Fixed a typo in a message on a computer in the second phase of Sunshine's second mission, "Night for Day."
- Fixed the Oracle's dress at low level of detail (thanks Croesus).
- Fixed the edges of the world in the Zero One and One Zero archive constructs being clearly visible near the horizon.
- The bamboo trees in the Yuki and Sakura archives no longer disappear when viewed near the edge of the screen.
- Fixed skeletal distortion at the shoulders and hips that occurred on females, and to a lesser degree on small males and large males, during many weapon combat animations.
- Fixed many Exiles who were missing combat animations, including lupines, blood-drinkers, Gargoyle, succubi, and Zero One / One Zero robots.
- Fixed some animation-related problems with Ookami's character model.
- Inner Strength taken while attempting to use Ghost Strike when visible is now refunded.
- Fixed an outdated reference to the truce in Zion's "seduction" graduation mission, "Meet with Niobe." (Thanks Othinn1.)
- Fixed a typo in Flood's text in Merv 8.3.3 (thanks GypsyJuggler).
- Fixed a typo in Tyndall's opening message in Zion critical mission 8.3.3.
- Replaced the non-Agenty "you're" contraction from the border Agent shout "You're not authorized in this area" with "you are."
- Sitting effect now penalizes all defense types.
- Automatic style switches will no longer display 'Ability is not loaded' when the requested style is not loaded.
- Escape Moves now use Withdraw Tactics and fail while enraged.
- Area effect group heals/upgrades are no longer applied to dead characters.
- Consumables can now be used from the actions panel.
- Using decompile or repair tools on empty slots no longer cause them to modify other slots.
- Master Shadow’s details have been updated to properly indicate prerequisites required for use.
- Delete Upgrade 2.0 should now use the proper FX on the target when the target is affected by the ability.
- Paralyzing Throw now properly indicates to the user when the target is rooted.
- Find Weakness no longer stacks with Upgrade Master.
- Delete Upgrade 2.0 now has a more appropriate casting animation length.
- Fixed "retreived" typo in System Chat notification when getting attachments from emails.
- After using shift+up arrow to bring back a previous tell, pressing space bar will now add a space.

Winter Holiday: December 13, 2007 through January 10, 2008 It's time for the third-annual Winter Holiday Celebration in The Matrix Online! During this period, snow will be falling in the Mega City and Snowman and Holiday Helper Vendors will be around to help you get into the holiday spirit. This Winter Holiday, operatives can enjoy the gift of sharp new clothing items: "Formal Shoes" and "Winter Coats" for men, and "Formal Skirts" and "Winter Shirts" for women, all available in both black and white versions. Those operatives skilled at defeating the giant Snow Simulacra may find an additional holiday-themed clothing item. Featured Updates Winter Holiday Features: - Four types of Snowman Vendors can be found in each District with different types of Snowballs for sale. (Icy, Slushy, Powdery, and Rocky.)
- Three Mobile Snowman Vendors will spawn around the city. These are luggable objects that dispense snowballs and can be dragged around by players. Only three will spawn per world, so get them while you can!
- Holiday Helper Vendors, outside Mega City clubs, will trade Holiday and Party hats to players for one of each type of Snowball.
- Equip a Red or Green Holiday Hat to put your RSI in the "Festive" state. Players in the "Festive" state can throw and be targeted by Snowballs.
- Snowballs can be "thrown" by activating them from the Action panel or the hotbar. Hitting another player with a Snowball reduces the stability of the equipped Holiday Hat.
- When Holiday Hats lose all stability, they disappear. Players can stage snowball fights where "last hat standing" wins.
- Black, Silver, and Gold Party Hats can be worn and activated to create flying confetti and party sound effects.
- Holiday Helper Vendors will also sell special mission activation tickets. Take these missions to earn Perfect Snowflakes, which can be turned in to Holiday Helpers for dress gloves, dress hats, and special Winter Holiday masks.
- Abominable snowmen will ambush players during the holiday missions. They don't move, so they're easy to escape. However, killing these NPCs will be well worth the effort!
Bullet Time Tweaks: Tweaked Bullet Time on interlock special moves and finishing moves. All finishing moves now have custom Bullet Time. Custom Bullet Time was added or adjusted on the following special moves: - Head Butt
- Cheap Shot
- Pistol Whip
- Low Blow
- Bash
- Aerial Takedown
- Iron Guard
- Tomo Nage
- Counter Throw
- Maki-Otoshi
- Punch Reversal Catch Slam

- Extreme Falling Kick
- Shadow Phoenix Pill (item-based move)
- Silver Bullet (item-based move)
- Succubus Kiss (NPC move)
- Pistol Aerial
- Pistol Barrage

- Snowflakes can now be traded.
- Snowflakes are lighter and fluffier.
- Double-clicking on hostiles once again defaults to attack.
- Reputation is now rewarded after mission completion, rather than after all goals in the last phase are complete.
Bug Fixes - Fixed a typo in Mr. Bishop's fifth mission.
- Fixed a typo in Machine mission 8.3.2 (thanks Mathalos).
- Miss/Hit blocks will now use the correct interlock exchanges instead of defaulting to the one self-defense speed vs self-defense block exchange everyone has seen a million times.
- The bluepill who follows you in Amber's third mission no longer gets attacked by Amber's own gang.
- Missing an enemy with a downgrade that is already affecting him will no longer remove the downgrade.
- Fixed the texture and material settings of Synn's shirt.
- Made text and NPC type changes to Rose's third mission and Violet's second mission to correct suggestions that the Legion gang works for Violet; in fact she and the Legion are at odds, as described in the atlas entry for Sobra Shores .
- Find Weakness no longer stacks with Upgrade Master.

While we're on the subject of this Virrago, how about changing the main forum page around a touch to highlight these?
By that, you know the main information banner at the top of the main forums page, which currently states: Welcome to The Matrix Online Forums! Forum Rules of Conduct
Player Event Announcements! Update 56 Game Update Notes! How about splitting that up to be a bit more fully inclusive? It doesn't have to have a load of things on there, just now that you're doing things like the Femme Fatale (yay!) and also this stuff, you could update it everytime the new one comes out so that players can jump right to that stuff to.
I can only perform so many miracles a week
Good suggestion though (and it reminded me to update it)

The Matrix Online Story Continues in Episode 9.3! Chapter 9.3 begins with a new cinematic and critical mission on Monday, 2/25, and a new critical mission follows on each of the next four Thursdays. “Datamine” Construct Is In Access to a new construct, "Datamine," is available from the Archivists found in Richland bookstores. The construct has no level restriction. It is a PVP "free for all" (FFA) area, which means that players within Datamine can be attacked by any player, even those from their same organization. $info gained from Data Mining is vastly increased inside the Datamine construct. You’ve Got Mail There are a few changes to the Your Mail UI: - The total number of messages in your inbox, maximum number of messages, and the number of headers currently retrieved are now shown.
- The total message count usually will not finish updating until the first group of headers is downloaded. There is a Get Next # to retrieve a next oldest batch of headers.
- There is a slider to control the number of headers to receive at once (10 to 300). The slider saves its position in your options file. It can take a little while to get 300 messages if they have long subjects. This also sets how many headers to get when you first open the mail UI, so you can set it to retrieve all your messages at once every time, or to only get a few of the most recent ones (which is much faster), and hit the button when you want to check older messages.
PvP Flagging Changes - Players no longer lose their PvP flag on death. It will still time out as normal after death, and is removed by /release and reconstruct.
- Using abilities such as Revive RSI on a flagged dead player will flag you if the dead player accepts.
- Dead players' nametags (with org and flag shown, if they are flagged) will now be displayed when they are targeted.
Changes and Improvements - Players can attach up to twelve items (or stacks) to an email. Multiple items cannot be attached to emails composed in the loading area.
- Executing instant abilities while in the wrong style will now change styles and invoke the ability. This also fixes the problem with NPCs where sometimes their instant and delayed abilities wouldn't go off, which is especially noticeable in Nuker-types.
- Level 100 Agents who spawn on Zion and EPN players outside of Slums are now Machine-aligned. They will not attack Machinists or Cypherites and cannot be attacked by them.
- Sending a tell to another player while AFK will no longer send that player an AFK message.
- The Interlock Accuracy Bonus has been removed from some non-interlock moves (it does not do anything outside interlock anyway.)
- Disable Security Devices, Bull Dog, and Find Data Node now have memory costs of 1.
Bug Fixes - The map now shows up in the One Zero archive construct.
- Recall abilities now work in constructs.
- The large programs spawned by the intruder will no longer be invisible in certain indoor locations.
- Light prop "glare" FX will no longer draw through solid models.

HvCFT OS Update 59: -- Featured Changes
The Matrix Online Story Continues in Episode 10.1! Chapter 10.1 begins with a new critical mission on Thursday, 4/3, and a new critical mission follows on each of the next four Thursdays: 4/10, 4/17, 4/24, and 5/1.
Moving on to Year Four The third anniversary event comes to a close with this update. We hope everyone enjoyed the event and are looking forward to another year inside the Matrix!
Chapter 9 is History The chapter 9 critical missions have been archived! You can buy tickets from the Archivist Vendors in Richland to run re-creations of each organization's chapter nine critical missions: 45 missions in all. Tokens gained from completing all the missions can be exchanged at the "PDA" collectors around the city for a special chapter 9 FX reward item.
Datamine Building Interiors Open Most of the floors inside the two buildings at the NE and SW corners of the Datamine construct have been opened for access. However, there may be new dangers in some of these interior spaces.
New Collector in Richland There is a new collector NPC in southern Richland who trades for items from the Datamine construct.
Changes and Improvements - Portable signal boosters can now be recycled.
- Mission archive chapter FX reward items, such as the Blue Headlamp, are no longer "Singleton" items.
- The default FX played on luggables when they are on the ground has been made less obtrusive. (Live since the beginning of the Anniversary event. Silly Walrus missed the note.)
- An Archivist Proxy has been added to the upper roof of the NE building in Datamine. Ladders have been added to the lower ledges of the building.
Bug Fixes - Fixed a typo in the operator's text at the beginning of the second phase of Zion mission 9.2.5, "Building 27."
- Fixed a typo in Malphas' text in Merovingian critical mission 9.3.4 (thanks Nicks).
- Fixed a typo in the operator's text in the first phase of Mr. Po's first mission, "Shadowplay."
- Fixed a clipping problem on the warehouse towers in the NW corner of Datamine.

Update 60 - Hotfix Notes
- "Bonus" % debuffs used by some item have been converted from "bonus" percentages to straight point values. The negative % bonuses used since the beginning of CR2.0 never actually worked. Oops! Items with converted debuffs include enhanced weapons, SSR Gum, and Decelerator Bits.
- Accelerator Bits and SSR Gum consumables now give point buffs rather than bonus percentage buffs.

HvCFT OS Update 60: -- Featured Changes The Matrix Online Story Continues in Episode 10.2! Chapter 10.2 begins with a new critical mission on Thursday, 5/15, and a new critical mission follows on each of the next four Thursdays: 5/22, 5/29, 6/5, and 6/12. New Level 50 Weapons Added 342 level 50 Enhanced/Silenced weapon variants. They drop as rare, high level critical mission or three-chevron NPC weapon loot, mostly. Most level 50+ NPCs are now equipped with the new level 50 Enhanced/Silenced weapons. New Residents of Datamine Powerful guard captains have appeared in the Datamine construct and the collector Dr. Martin in Lemone may be interested in some of the items they have. Changes and Improvements - The One Zero Taskmaster has some new loot.
- Trait descriptions are now somewhat less misleading.
- Female gi’s now include pants.
- Weapon models and names are now consistent across weapon lines; for instance, all "FM" semi-auto pistols, other than the FM-1500, now use the large silver semi-automatic model type. It should be noted, however, that FM-9s use different models than FM-11s and 13s, and Nishiki Furys (sic) use different models than Nishiki Tempests; the model variation in these two submachine gun types is intentional..Also fixed the icons for the Clamor submachine gun (thanks AltDimension).
- Completing a live critical mission now rewards the player with a special consumable item.
Bug Fixes - Fixed the firing sound for the male left-hand large SMG. (Thanks Travi.)
- Fixed blocky coloration on male and female gis.
- Fixed a typo in Merv mission 9.1.2 (thanks Voltio).
- Fixed two Furies Fanatics who were spawning halfway in the ground in Zia.
- Fixed a Bullet Devil Dog who was spawning in the ground in Dannah Heights.
- Fixed an 88 Cornerman who could sometimes spawn halfway in the ground in a Mannsdale parking lot.
- Fly Man and N30 data mining spawns now despawn correctly if they lose their target.
- The "Shadow" pills obtained from the training simulacra in the "White Hallway" organization areas have had their DPS increased from 30 to 40.
- Archive missions will now award full experience each time you complete them.
- Luggables will no longer show up on locating devices once they have been recycled.

Moods:
- /mood cold - requires level 16 - character shivers

- Increased the skin/clothing color variety of bluepill pedestrians appearing in missions
- /em messages now appear inside asterisks to prevent players from faking System chat messages. While players can still paste in a line break and a second message (using the CTRL+Insert "paste" command) that would appear without a preceding asterisk, the initial line beginning with an asterisk should be a tip-off that the following message(s) could be fake

- Collars on the following suit & dress types will no longer change color when a coat is worn with them:
- Metro Long-Sleeved Catsuits
- Sif Leather Fighting Dresses

2008 Halloween Masquerade: Oct. 23 through Nov. 6
It's time for The Matrix Online 2008 Halloween Masquerade! Find the jack-o-lanterns around the Mega City and activate them to spawn Exiles. Defeating a wave of Exiles leaves you with a special treat: A box only you can open that contains one of seven possible Halloween masks. Hardline and club decorations are up and the Halloween darkness and full moon have returned! Zombies have infested the following neighborhoods and will attack redpills wandering through them:
- Slums: Mannsdale Housing Projects and Camon Heights
- Barrens: Manssen Park and Gracy Heights
- International: Furihata and Ikebukuro
- Downtown: Creston Heights and Edgewater
Players bitten by zombies will be infected by the zombie virus and turned into the living dead themselves. Player-zombies have access to the special bite attack, which can be used against other players in PvP combat. Zombies are known to be vulnerable to Holy Water, which can also be used against player-zombies to cleanse them of the zombie virus. Player-zombies can also use Antibiotic pills to cleanse the virus themselves. Changes and Improvements
- Halloween Masquerade event runs from Oct. 23 through Nov. 6.
- Jack-o-Lantern objects found around the city can be activated to spawn Exile NPCs.
- Ultra-dark skies with a Halloween full moon have been turned on.
- Hardline and club decorations have been turned on.
- All Halloween masks will work during this period.
- Level-appropriate zombies will spawn on players in certain neighborhoods.
- Players can be turned into zombies by being bitten by an NPC or player zombie.
- Players infected by the zombie virus can use the Zombie Bite Ability (under Awakened in the Actions panel).
- Antibiotics can be used by player characters to clear the zombie virus from their RSIs.
- Holy Water causes extra damage to NPC zombies and clears the zombie virus from player characters.
- Seven new masks have been added this year.
Bug Fixes
- Added a 30-minute "safe time" to the level 100 Agent spawns on Zionites outside of Richland. This means that within a single neighborhood, if a level 100 Agent spawns on you, there won't be a chance of another spawning on you for at least a half-hour.

Featured Changes
The Matrix Online Story Continues in Episode 11.3! Starting with chapter 11.3, we are changing from our previous "critical mission" format. Watch the chapter 11.3 cinematic, and notice the area of the city pointed out at the end: at that location, players level 30 and up will find organization-based collector NPCs who will give them a series of quests in which chapter 11.3's story will unfold, with greater challenges and greater rewards--such as organization-specific items--than before. These quests can be repeated, and will remain in the game permanently. Neighborhood Update: Tabor Park
- A new mission is available from the Chessman in Tabor Park
- The Tabor Park collector Michel gives a new reward item in exchange for the token given by the Chessman's new mission
- The Demon Head Medallions dropped by the Demon Army in Tabor Park can no longer be traded to other players
- Demon Head Medallions can be sold for increased $info, or traded to Michel for half that $info value plus XP
- Michel will exchange Demon Head Medallions for Demon Head Souvenirs, which can be traded to other players
- The NPCs Kimree and Bellix outside Mars Industrial Storage in Uriah now direct the player to the Chessman
Changes and Improvement - Completing an org's archived mission subchapter, other than 1.1.1, now rewards the team leader with an IS Booster consumable
- The mission archive chapter FX reward items now remain active for five minutes. They can be reactivated thirty seconds after that
- Operatives killing a street gang boss now have a 10% chance of capturing reusable code that allows them to assume the boss' RSI
- Added user tip messages when reaching levels 3 (neighborhood mission contacts), 10 (Hyper-Jump), and 15 (Archivists)
Bug Fixes - Fixed a typo in an Exile's chat in phase 2 of Pandora Box 4 mission 3, "Trial By Fire" (thanks Cadsuane)
- Sleepwalker submachine gun details text and collector text now mentions their slightly increased decay rate
- Men's Valshamr shirt now appears in the correct section of the Marketplace (thanks atomicus)
- Replaced accented letters that were causing text display problems in Merovingian missions 10.3.3 and 11.2.4 (thanks Nicksie)
- The contact in the "Get [x] from the desk" courier missions will no longer attack the player (thanks Remixermike)
- NPCs who have Aikido will no longer try (and usually fail) to use Ki Burst
- A.S.P. boss Capt. Sinclair no longer chooses between two RSIs on respawn
- Crow Bars Swaggerers, Swells, and boss Heckle no longer use Chisels gang boss Marcel's RSI
- King's Men boss Stephen no longer uses the RSI of 5 Points boss Party Boy Floyd
- Family timer durations are now capped to the recast timer of the ability that was used to trigger the family timer. This will skip part of the recast sweep on the logic bomb and most of the code nuke abilities, as those are intended to only have 2 second recast times
- Crew Captains other than the Faction creator no longer have the Faction Disband button active

HvCFT OS Update 65: -- Featured Changes The Matrix Online Story Continues in Episode 12.1! Chapter 12.1 begins with a new cinematic and missions. Jack in and see where the story goes! Chapter 12.1 Changes: - Turned off level 100 "tie clip" Agent spawns on Zionites in Ikebukuro, Shirakaba, and Baldwin Heights.
- Re-enabled "tie clip" Agent spawns on Zionites in Hampton Green, but only at 25% of the usual spawn chance.
- New collectors have appeared in Ikebukuro.
Chapter 11 Missions Archived Chapter 11 missions have been added to the mission archive. Operatives completing all 30 archived chapter 11 missions will be able to get a new FX item: "Override Image." Winter Holiday: December 18 through January 22 It's time for the fourth-annual Winter Holiday Celebration in The Matrix Online! During this period, snow will be falling in the Mega City and Snowman and Holiday Helper Vendors will be around to help you get into the holiday spirit. This Winter Holiday, operatives can enjoy the gift of sharp new clothing items: "Winter Vests" for men, "Bathrobes" for women, "Snow Globe Glasses" for both, and 3 other items. Features: - Four types of Snowman Vendors can be found in each District with different types of Snowballs for sale. (Icy, Slushy, Powdery, and Rocky)
- Some of the Holiday Helper collectors have been moved to the more popular entrance to their club (i.e., the one closest to the nearest hardline).
Take these missions to earn Perfect Snowflakes, which can be turned in to Holiday Helpers for special Winter Holiday items.
- Abominable snowmen will ambush players during the holiday missions. They don't move, so they're easy to escape. However, killing these NPCs will be well worth the effort!
Changes and Improvements - An item's mouseover information will now indicate if the item has purity or stability that never decays.
- Each special property displayed in an item's details now appears on a separate line for improved legibility.
Bug Fixes - Gave Jane the Ripper a pair of glasses that don't clip into her face (thanks aracher).
- Fixed a typo in the operator's text in phase two of the Sculptress' fourth mission.
- Fixed a typo in Nicky G.'s second message in Merovingian mission 11.3.1 (thanks eval).
