Other than reading spoilers or getting there by luck, how could you
learn that the next step was to go to Loripor? I've read everything and
I haven't found any clue pointing there...

A message from "The Subway"! This was a good event. Yes, times like that requires us, hardcore roleplayers, to put aside our shell and actually have some innocent fun. It's a game after all. Hey, when I check the episode listing of tv series, many have weird alternate episodes that are there only to take advantage of the characters and tone of the show and mix all that in a pretty random environment. The X-Files "Triangle" is coded 6ABX03, right in the middle of 6ABX02 and 6ABX04, two regular episodes. There wasn't an alternate coding simply because if was an offbeat episode. This party was an "alternate episode" of chapter 7.1.3. Being a subway was truely the most unique experience I ever had, pushing away the 1-hour very personal meeting I had with Flood on Linenoise. I had fun and never I asked myself if bluepills could see me. I was privilegied to have this and I wholeheartly thank Rarebit for having the guts to do such things. Oh and those knowing Harpalos, I have to admit: he /dance for the first time of his life, but that was because he wanted to see how it would look to shake his hulk! This is not canon for you purists. And now, some pictures! Taking some fresh air soon after my transformation About to "crash" the party Asking pardon for taking part in such canonical sin Saying adios to my unique RSI

I've never met Paddock, but I find it dramatic that redpills are ready
to treat bluepills like cattle like that for their own agenda. There
are more "diplomatic" ways to make sure that bluepills' politics don't
have an impact on the powerplays of the Matrix' main actors.

I played the trial for one week. I think I spent most of my time reading a book while playing a computer game. Having a ship travel for 10 minutes on autopilot without anything to do in the meantime didn't felt right for me. And the skill system is strange. Basically, you level for leaving your game running for days. The political structure of the game seems interresting however, but the gameplay wasn't really for me.

Hey, don't laugh. This book is widely used in various domains where random numbers are necessary. You take your RAND, open it at a random page, point your finger anywhere and take as many digits as you want. I never got my chance to get one of these icons in engineering's history, but bringing me back that memory might incitate me to grab one!

1 million random generated numeral digits. It was published in the fifties, at an era when generating random numbers wasn't that easy. To help mathematicians, engineers, etc, requiring random numbers, the RAND institute, a non-profit organization involved in R&D published this book. There's no perfect way to generate random numbers, because true random in computers doesn't exist. The RAND method with this book is however considered as one of the most random number generation methods. Simply because it mixes 2 interfaces : the computer one, with the randomly generated numbers in the book, and the human aspect, in flipping the book to a random page and pointing to a random number. Good luck trying to reverse-engineer any random number sequences created with that. This is why many institutions still trust the RAND book method over any algorithms. Oh and for your curiosity, the "book" in .zip (0.6 MB) http://www.rand.org/pubs/monograph_.../digits.txt.zip

Bought my copy last saturday (yep, before release date). I am not a Final Fantasy fan at all, being too disgusted at having my Final Fantasy 1 saved game erased when I was a kid, so I hated the game since then. Failing to peer pressure telling me that it was the best thing for a roleplaying gamer since sliced bread, I tried and liked FF7, and loved Tactics. Didn't play any other, especially not the "lets play dress-up" FFX-2. Why pick 12 then? The combat system. Seriously, random encounters (aka meeting a 30 feet mammoth which you couldn't see coming) is boring. Now, you have a nice tactical map and you can avoid enemies. And the Gambit system is great... It's complicated to learn however when you start (and you'll have to play for a couple of hours before accessing it). Not having to smash a hundred commands each turn to your party, and instead "code" the AI is fantastic. The characters are interresting, and the story, while complicated at the start, becomes actually good. If you like character building, that game is great. The skill system (licenses) allows for a great customization, and like in mxo, you can't really regret your choices because you can just fight a bit and regain points to build the skills you really want. You are allowed to free roam and do what you want, something I hate about most console rpg with a forced pathway. This is still not Fallout or Oblivion, but I know I can work on other things than the main quest. Oh. Bad points too. I hate androgynous blond boys in shiny too-much skin revealing armors. And why fight with iron swords and armors when you look in the sky and see starfighters dogfighting à la Star Wars? (that's not much of a spoiler, this is from the intro animation). A good game finally! Once I closed my eyes on the not enough hard-edged setting for my tastes, I enjoyed the game mechanics and the story, making FF12 a good RPG experience.

An older Hugo Lapointe. He's a singer from Quebec which problably would have trouble playing Harp since it's mostly a pop singer, and surely not much a mathematician-philosopher. But I'll pick him based only on the look.
