Either way, if you don't like being ganked your first mistake is making a character on vector, your second is not furiously tapping 'c' when you pop out of hardline, and or going to a HL with people around it (as noticed by the variated color of the name of the hardline in the list, this can also be used to run around HL attacking people =P).
Another good tip is to apply your title buff, shield and what not at some remote location then HL to wherver it is you were going. Or you could do what i do and have your title buff ready to activate in your hotbar the second you pop out, shield second, hypers can be applied mid-fight =P
Thanks, I'm quite adept at choosing an out of the way HL, but there is still no guarantee that there won't be a higher level there or in the vicinity. As I said, it take a few seconds for my computer to catch up with what is going on therefore preventing me from moving or activating anything. I'm not opposed to playing on Vector, I understand that there is a risk that is unique to that server, I only wanted to know if there were some out there who sit and wait specifically for low levels to pop out of a HL.

No I don't, I like the immersive feeling it gives when transporting. I guess that's one of the trade offs you need when playing on the hostile server, you lose the signature Matrix code, but gain the feeling of danger.... unless, of course, you do have a hot PC and minimal lag...

I don't use jump a helluva lot so I've binded my HJ to my space bar for ease of use, I've gotten quite accurate at pinpointing the place I'll land by releasing the spacebar at the right moment. I don't use HJ in PvP unless it's to reach an opponent on the rooftops or to try to head them off when they run away. As my main on Syntax is the only character I PvP with, I can only speak of my experience there. The only people I see HJ are the occasional MKT, they pop out of sneak, throw a knife to state someone then jump away. I find it strange because most Hackers, who get a disadvantage in interlock, tend to stay in and fight back, or roll out but continue debuffing and attacking. All in all I'd have to agree that, for the most part, Syntaxians keep their feet on the ground.

Tabor West became the hotspot for PvP on Syntax last night (with a few elements of RPvP thanks to Chloe <3) Again only one or two people HJ'ing away from a fight (I like to HJ into the fight if it's some distance from the HL) but is was fun. Most people were fighting to the death coming back out (or getting rezzed) and getting back in. And not too much trash talking either! Every kill is a temporary advantage, every death is a temporary setback.... in equal numbers anyway!

I would prefer that the yellow code be removed, and the blur effect stay, but only happens when you move location rather than when the body twitches. HS is cool in IL but I think if they increased the chance the character does it on his/her own when dodging puches/bullets then you wouldn't need to turn it on for that 'Matrixy' feel

I think you're getting mixed up with Duel and Dual.
Duel: A prearranged combat between two persons, fought with deadly weapons according to an accepted code of procedure, esp. to settle a private quarrel. Any contest between two persons or parties. Dual: Composed or consisting of two people, items, parts, etc., together; twofold; double. I.e. 'I challenge you to a duel' *slaps with back of a glove* and 'Veil uses dual SMG's aswell' (See how I fixed that! )

I don't think our developers can whine about it costing too much money, or taking too much time. They get a paycheck to provide us with the type of game we want to play. I want to see more Martial Arts styles in this game. Three is not enough. We all pay $15 a month for things like that. The fact that MxO has been around for almost 3 years, and STILL does not have an expansion/higher level cap/the ability to add your own buffs to the clothing of your choice/etc... is a bit sad.
The Dev's get paid (because SoE is not a charity) but they get paid to provide us with a game that they can develop and maintain with the budget SoE gives them, they probably even get paid from that budget. They can provide what they can afford to provide. They give us what we would like if it can be included and if it can be budgeted for. New trees mean new animations that means a lot of time with motion capture, the rental or purchase of the equipment, studio and trained personnel (I believe the current moves were done at the same time as the motion capturing for the films thus saving money), then there's the inclusion of it in game requireing major recoding then effects, balancing determining power levels and buff's de-buff's etc.... We pay $15 or £10 or whatever but what would that cover? Maintenance costs of the servers, Dev wages... barely (Theorys abound how the money gets split up...). We're only a small community and it would take a lot of money to implement an expansion and higher level cap (unnecessary imo) certainly a lot more than we're drawing in and then we probably won't draw too many more people to MxO to cover that cost. The players are demanding and want a lot and the Dev's are doing what they can but they're not gonna take time out from their usual tasks (LE's etc...) to invest time in a major game alteration that they can't afford when there is a lot more other things the could and should be doing in the mean time.

Surly arranging buddy lists into your own groupings would be something client side rather on the database side? The database only needs to report that a player is online/offline. Or are peoples buddy lists stored on the servers? I suppose it will take a bit of re-writing the relevant software to do it tho'

If I remember correctly from beta MxO doesn't use motion capture (Granny Animation is it? *digs for old MxO manual*), they used the martial arts team Zero Gravity to help them study the different moves and have them recorded and discussed but after that all the animations were done by hand so more flexible animation templates can be made.
Necroing threads are fun btw " />
According to my manual, Zerogravity were there for Martial Arts reference but there was a Motion capture team (or suggestion of) with Simon Wong as lead motion capture engineer and Alesia Glidewell as the Motion capture actress. It's possible that they captured the base movements and tweaked them with the animators...

HJ is good to get to those places where people are, but not to flee. It could be argued that if you don't and your being pursued or attacked by two people then you're gonna lose to them, but you never know, a teammate may be just around the corner coming to your aid... and when you HJ you're gonna leave him to the mercy of those two attackers. I've noticed a few runners on Syntax, I don't mean those who try to get a bit of range on from the main area and come back in, or to try to draw a single person out, I mean those who shoot you once then run halfway around the district even if the are only being chased by one person...

I've no problem with player Mod's as long as they themselves are being Moderated ie. Raijinn. Moderators should have the decency to keep personal vendetta's with their personal account and not their Moderator account. Any problems with one report it to Raijinn and it shall be investigated. Fuelling that Mod's vendetta by calling them out or bashing them on the forums will not work. Mod's should tread carefully as any action taken by them that is unjustified should result in that Moderator being suspended or the account being terminated.
We, as users have our posts moderated but we also have the power to report any Moderator that is deemed to be taking actions unjustly.

Don't wanna add fuel to the fire but I've been seeing this a lot on all the Gunman abilities... I just thought my PC wasn't playing the miss animation (mind you that would mean missing a helluva lot, that's why I've been checking my stats a lot recently...) apparently there's more here than faulty miss animations...

Flag it up if you havent already done so, perhaps it's something the Dev's can quickly sort out... then again perhaps it's isn't... but if they didn't already know about it, they will do.

I would support base animation changes, especially in interlock, to show the experience/level of the person, but I don't think adding extra abilities (even though there are a few I'd love to see) or powerful moves would be very welcome as it would unbalance what we already have. What would be needed to implement them would be CR3

If I use Lancet for the acc bonus and during IL I use the DPE ability which automatically uses a dual set of pistols, does the ability take into account the accuracy from the Lancet which was being used when the Ab was selected or the accuracy of the dual pistols that it uses?

As I stated before we aren't adding abilities, we are just changing the animation if a certain ability is loaded, in this case, the level 33 abilities. I know, I was just commenting on the 'More powerful/complex moves' statement made by Fatmop, unless he meant more show-offy in which case I got the wrong end of the stick and apologise! I'd love to see advanced versions of standard moves!

My own tests lead me to believe that the accuracy is taken from your current setup and weapon, but you will not be able to use the ability unless you have the dual pistols in your inventory. It's just that I usually have Bedlams in my inv for any dual pistol abs, but if accuracy isn't taken from them then I can just use any dual pistols with a higher DPS and I'm guessing that the only difference will be slightly less Acc when I click on an Ab while DPE or other dual pistol ab is going through because after the animation it swaps back to the lancet...

I've noticed this. There are days when I get rendered solid about 10 seconds after I enter sneak and then there are days when I stay translucent. Glad to hear that the Dev's are aware of this, it seems strange to appear to walk around crouched and solid whilst sneaking. I half expect someone to say 'what the heck are you doing?'

Well we got some honest answers. There was a lot of referring us to Virrago about stuff such as in game billboards website art etc... However, he has mentioned that it often takes a lot of red tape and many months to get approval from the right powers that be. He's not saying he won't bother with it, but don't expect him to get things up on the website and in-game straight away, red tape can be very sticky....

It is a real shame you didn't get any screenies, but I guess like so many surprising things that happen thinking about hitting F12 only occur after the event!
It'd be really nice if there were some added animations and Rare's post is an attempt to cover them up... but it's been quite a few days since the patch, if there were legit new or reintroduced animations shouldn't a few people have seen them by now?
