Hey everyone, I got an Geforce 8600 GT for Christmas. I had a couple questions, and I was hoping you all would be able to help me.

1.) I've heard about the 8800 problems, does it extend to the 8600 and if so; to what extent?

2.) Where should I get the drivers for this card? I know bonopi's post back in 05 mentioned something about XtremeG 81.84 v.2. I didn't know if that was still the best kind of driver for mmos or if I should just get it from the manufacturer or Nvidia's website.

3.) I want to film using this card and when I do, i lose alot of frame rate and everything becomes choppy. This is strange because Madbent's Geforce 7600 films just fine.

4.) I get some choppiness when I'm not filming, is that the lag people are talking about with the 8000 series?

5.) If the problem applies to all of the 8000 series, anyone know how soon the card will be able to pwn in MxO?

Basically, could someone give me a break down of this card, or really should get my drivers etc. I really appreciate it!

Japan had an earthquake less than a week ago. It was like a 6.5 on the scale and one thing that it damaged was the Nuclear Power Plant. It created a big crack and 300 milion gallons of Radioactive water poured out into the sea of Japan. And the latest reports say that the water is 1.5 times more radioactive than first thought.

Now... In the movies, the original Godzilla was was made from radioactive waste going into the sea of Japan. And Godzilla mutated and became Godzilla. Now that it seems this is coming true, all I have to say is run for the hills!!!

On August 1st, the long awaited CS Pro mod finally reached closed beta. It looks like this game will actually reach fruition.

For those not familiar with CS Pro mod; it is a modification based on the Half Life 2 engine. It was Specifically designed for competitive game play. It uses the high end graphics that you see in Counter Strike Source, but has the same specifications (IE: accuracy, recoil, mathematics, et cetera) as Counter Strike 1.6 and 1.5. An elite group of players (think big name teams), along with the development team and others will help make the final decisions on which aspects should be taken from which version. When all is said and done, the goal of CS Promod is to create a hybrid Counter strike with all of it's best qualities and have it used main stream for competitive game play.

Jake Brown seriously cheated death when he fell over 40 feet on to the hard wood flat of a gigantic ramp. Jake nailed a 720 launching off of the ramp, but just a few seconds later on the vert ramp he loses control and flys 40 feet up in the air and 30 feet out into the middle of the flat (flat part of the ramp). The fall literally knocked the shoes off of him. What's the biggest surprise of this you ask? Ten minutes later Jake Brown WALKS off the ramp. Check it out.

I know there have been alot of threads before this about hovercrafts but i never really saw an official answer on it. So i decided to send in a ccr about if the hovercrafts were rebuilt yet, and they said that they cannot answer that question but if i post in the forums, a dev would answer it for me. so im here posting.

Ok so Walrus or any Dev, are the Hovercrafts rebuilt yet? are the crews off the hover barges and on hovercrafts? The reason why i ask this is because out of interest, but also because of conflicting information. I know i heard you, Walrus, refer to crew's and hovercrafts in a previous post somewhere. Also i was at a coder dish and it says under the details about it, that the coder dish helps boost the signal between you and your hovercraft. So i was a little bit confused because i thought we were still on a barge.

OK to reiterate, are the hovercrafts rebuilt yet and are the redpills or atleast the redpills in crews off the barges and on to their own hovercraft?

Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) finally closes down after ten years.

I'm a little shocked that it closed abruptly. But maybe not in the long run. Championship Gaming Series (CGS) seems to be the new and upcoming thing. Which could be why a lot of the Counter Strike teams decided to switch over to it.

Since the 360's HD-DVD disc can only hold around 30GBs and the the Blu-Ray Discs can hold around 50GBs will this lead to the PS3 being better in the long run?

It seems like Microsoft will be cutting the price of the 20 GB Xbox 360 to $299. This would be down from $350. Hopefully they drop the price on the elite, as well. I was actually about to buy a 360 when I saw this. so I'm excited to see a price drop.

Original sources said it would happen July 6th, but the Kmart ad that was leaked says it will start on July 16th. And that would be E3 week. Which makes pretty good sense to me.

Some idiots were setting off fireworks in the hallways and outside of their apartment building and caused a multi alarm fire. Burning 11+ appartment buildings. This happened about 5 blocks away from me. I think the fire is still going on, actually. Hundreds are now without a home. Luckily, no one was injured.

Brett Favre has officially announced that he wants to come back to play.

Although, He has asked Green Bay for an unconditional release from his contract. This is because Green Bay has basically said they don't want Favre. They say that they are getting ready for Aaron Rogers to take over and lead them to the Super Bowl, or at least the play offs.. So Brett Favre is saying: Fine, release me from my contract. Don't trade me. Let me decide where I want to go. This request for a release from his contract doesn't necessarily mean he will not play for Green Bay, though. The Ball is in The Green Bay Packer's Court.

So Brett Favre is back. But where will he land????

Stephen Colbert is launching "Operation Humble Kanye" by taking on Kanye West for the number one spot on itunes. Colbert is doing this because "If his head gets any bigger, it will explode and then we will all be covered with sunglass shards."

So he is asking everyone to buy his album from Itunes. The money from the sales goes towards Feeding America (a charity). If at all possible, Colbert wants everyone to buy it at 5:00pm est.

Apparently, there is a virus that is going around. It has already infected 3,000,000 -12,000,000 computers. This Virus is called the Conficker Virus (a.k.a Downadup)

It infects computers maliciously and just sits there. Your computer pretty much becomes a sleeper cell, until they receive further orders. These orders could be something simple as sending out spam, to packeting someone (which is sending an immense amount of data to an IP address which basically makes it crash), to as complicated as brute force Hacking a government network. This isn't any small matter. Microsoft has issued a $250,000 reward leading to the arrest of the Conficker Creators.

On April 1st (April fools day), the Conficker Creators have said that they will launch the next step of their virus and start issuing orders to the millions of computers that are awaiting further instructions. Take all the necessary steps to protect your computer, if it hasn't already been infected, that is. These steps would include getting yourself some anti-virus protection (although the virus has been created to go around most virus protection systems), as well as making sure your computer is COMPLETELY up-to-date with all the updates from Microsoft. Also avoid downloading any illegal content.

Hey everyone,

I want to start filming ingame things to make movies and whatnot. I was wondering though, what are the minimum and recommended computer specifications to be able to successfully film in mxo?

I just got a PNY Verto Geforce 8600 GT video card. I know about the indoor issues. But I know people who use a Geforce 7600 and film with a steady framerate. But when I try to film it is choppy. This is even outdoors. And even some time i get a little bit of choppiness when I'm not filming. So /shrug.

Anywho! I was just wondering what are the minimum system specs to film ingame footage in MXO.

Also, what program do you use? I've heard of fraps and ZD soft Game recorder.

My specs are:

Amd Athalon 2.2 Ghz processor

2.5 Gbs of ram

integrated Realtek AC'97 sound card

And the Geforce 8600 GT with 256 mb of DDR3 ram.

It happened when i was switching between my storage alt and Mercio. so if it doesnt show mercio as online. it could be more storage alt that is online. But im sure they know all my character's names.

Finally after about a month of being back at Zion getting my Hovercraft repaired I will be Going back up to Broadcast depth today. Im on a temp hovercraft but, i have a new feature a better Connection (Broadband) SMILEY

When ever I play any audio files and then say have the visual background running, my audio gets really distorted and choppy with high squeaks in it. The same thing also happens when I try and play videos with audio in them.

I have tried installing updated drivers and turning down the advanced hardware aclleration. and i have tried adjusting the volume too. Nothing seems to work. Anyone have a solution? Because this is driving me nuts. I cant even watch the darn cinematics because of the messed up audio.
