Vector - Hostile World Discussion - Vector So what happened? So what happened? Zerotolerance 0 02/01/2006 18:08
A fight was requested between the Jokerz and Trinity, five against five...
No buffs, all Gunman and Martial Arts...
We had to wait for some sort of tournament to finish, though?

..of course, when we got to this 'tournament,' to see what the fuss was about. All we got was hacked to death by 20+ Zion. What kind of tournament was this? And whatever happened to our fight, ILLFACE?

Vector - Hostile World Discussion - Vector Have you had yours today? Have you had yours today? Zerotolerance 0 02/07/2006 21:04

How many times have you crashed today?

I crashed 16 times today, including once at the startup screen and once before I stopped seeing code. All the other times were in the middle of important stuff like missions or PVP. In the event of missions, it's usually during the last phase. In the event of PVP, it's usually right after stun wears off and I previously deflected all viral attacks. Now's my chance to-- Oh, snap...

So yeah, I was wondering... How does the crash support window help? I mean, can you pinpoint what makes it happen? Is it because I gave that NPC a hard look when I walked by him? Maybe it's an illegal operation detected by my computer when I am standing idle in the game, with nobody around and nothing happening?

You jack in after a hard day's work and you think to yourself, "Man, what's in store for me today?" You wonder at the people who've killed you and the people you've killed and you realize it's all fun and games. It's going to repeat itself, over and over again, with the random computations working behind the scenes to deflect this or dodge that in-game. You develop a memory and perhaps even a vendetta when it comes to certain people you come across every day. Certain redpills that prove to be a challenge and others who -- upon arrival -- are bound to bring an armada of chaos behind them.

Sure, there are others who are not on as often and yet you become so familiar with, so acquainted with, your enemies that you become acquainted with their style or even for a particular style that's been copied over and over, not allowing for expiremental builds or something new. It's predictable. It's easy.

You are going to win and you are going to lose, but it's only a question of when and where. It comes from out of nowhere at times, I tell you! Scary stuff. But I think the bottomline is who has the last laugh and knowing when opportunity will strike.

That being said...

I jack in and I receive an incoming transmission over the Jokerz network. Zion at Zia South? Let's go check it out! Loading an interlock build, I come straight through only to be assaulted by an entire crew -- no, multiple crews -- of Zion operatives, most of them loaded with Ballista, MKT, and Assassin. I know that my time is short and I expect to be tossed like a ragdoll into the loading area any second. Why am I not going there? Ahh, the copied loadouts they haven't quite mastered... Someone must have told them to use knives and hacks, without really explaining how it all works. Well, after half of a minute spent in interlock I am finally dead and allowed to reconstruct what remains of my poor, battered RSI. **bleep**, that hurts in the Real...

...before I reconstruct, however, I receive a comment about "stupid mechs." Who would be so bold as to-- Oh. I state very clearly, "How many times have I killed you, *edited*? Enough times for your opinion to not matter." Afterall, if you're going to gloat when you've got a zerg you need to back it up. Of course!

To which the reply is: "None."

None? It's back to the loading area for me, and it's time to wait for Team Purple to disperse the herd while I work a little magic code into my RSI's loadout. I need to find a way to refresh his memory, but I need to switch up how I do it. All he needs to see is a name... That's it.

When I return, it's pandemonium. Still, I see that the crowd is not beaten down entirely. I notice two Zion running away from the onslaught and I rush beyond the first one, moving towards the second with renewed vigor. It's time to take this one down. Sadly, that is not what occurs but I managed to grab a log of the conversation and yet I keep it short to avoid being abusive towards my peers:

There's no point in upsetting him any further than he was going to be once he came back down from his hyperjumping glory -- thinking he can fly, like the anomaly. It is only a temporary escape as a Zion operative's understanding, as I've documented on the field, is limited by their time spent underground. He would soon be tricked by his successful leap; tricked into thinking he was safe, he would return to try and find a target he'd prove capable of destroying. The Jokerz network recently acquired some level 12's who participate in PvP, so... I was certain he'd find a worthy distraction.

Even better, he'd somehow forgotten to put up his evade shield. It had been down since I'd been ganked, myself. That, coupled with the few freefire shots I'd taken with my Lancet meant I was in luck. The opportunity made my mouth water and yet I had to reassure myself that it was not my own saliva but the code of sweet revenge and clarity seeping into my interface. Alas, the last laugh would be mine!

It is only a matter of time before I am defeated again, and yet I keep it fresh in my memory that I've been disconnected before and will be many times over. On the same token, I'll remind everyone that they've also been sent into loading. Even if you don't remember it, I do. I'll be happy to send you there again, repeatedly, over and over, as long as you keep coming. It's like 7-11.

Don't get me wrong, if a redpill kills me then they win. Congratulations to all the wins in the past and all the future wins. With or without a team, it's still a CQ. There's obviously different degrees of honor involved, but then the game itself doesn't know that. Just watch the trash-talking and make sure your memory serves you well or you might get hurt in the soft spot.

Not sure if I should be posting this in Next Ren, but I figured Residual Self-Image boards would be good enough for this topic.

I'm seeing alot of very nice looking trailers out of Recursion and Syntax lately. While Vector's had it's own share in the past, do we simply not have anyone with enough experience in editing to produce something for Vector or are we all just time-constrained? I'd like to work on a project with any number of you from Vector. I believe Bayamos wanted to do a Systematic Chaos Faction video, but perhaps Vector PET or even volunteers from the other servers want to put something together? I have an open character slot and would love to help if anyone already has any ideas.

I just love to see people representing the Hostile.

Vector - Hostile World Discussion - Vector Why are you quitting!? Why are you quitting!? Zerotolerance 0 03/29/2006 14:02

Why I would...

CR2.0 sucks. We all know that much. Just about all of Vector agrees that CR2.0 was not necessary, and that our old Live system was one that felt unique and in need of some doctoring. We didn't need the whole combat revamp. Now the way that the attributes are split up, it makes it nearly impossible to continue playing this game as we all have before... What do I mean by this?

The one key ingredient to this game was the option of character regret, utilized by all of us each and every time we'd get rocked and trade loadouts to use attacks that played to the enemy's weakness. You know what to /loadlo when you're fighting certain types. Not to mention Hacker made farming info alot easier and mixing Spy with Virologist made missioning a very easy process.

Now we face character regret. Now we face forks in the road...

Changing loadouts is a difficult process now. You need to spread yourself thinner and be worse in all of your areas in order to even accomplish anything with those Ability trees you've got. Being a Gunman myself, I know that I can switch between SMG's, Pistols, and Rifles and remain effective. I can even do well with Martial Arts loaded, but still... I can't excel in MA duels and what's worse, my Spy trees are useless when it comes to any sort of damage needing to be done. Now, more than ever, it's crucial that you not make any errors in leveling your trees and once you've specialized in them, you're kind of stuck.

And forgive me, but RSI hacks feel clumbsy -- not something that should be available very often, either. But then what about the new system doesn't feel clumbsy? I dislike the que system that's in place for the specials in combat now. I'd like to see a blinking, or the waveline effect like on Evade Shield. I want to know that it's being processed, not have to strain my eyes looking at the little flashing red number. At least before we got to see the action in que. Now I waste innerstrength clicking the next attack when I thought the previous one had finished rolling (in the background).

Why I will...

Because if everything else about this game sucks, what's the point?

It seems where this game is heading, where the Matrix Timeline is heading, is along the same path as Star Wars. In Galaxies, you've stretched on with little additional content and a revamp and reconstruction that has Jedi everywhere. It has been made dull, repetitive, and boring. As for this game, it's now dull and repetitive... so let's not get bored with it, k? Everyone on Vector has been saying they want content and we've been promised that much...

...but CR2.0 isn't finished. There's still major bugs and inconsistencies. We need to have more bugs fixed, and on a regular basis. It needs more work to feel less bulky and at the same time not take away from the complexity of the game itself. I don't feel confident in a dev team that says they will get to the content once they finish the system and then they release an unfinished product. Arguably, yes, it is very close to completion. But that's not the point. I am not a satisfied customer.

So let's see if they actually start getting the ball rolling on some in-game activities on a regular basis. I know TheWatchmaker has been keeping JoKeRz busy, but that was before the implementation of CR2.0 and now even the content doesn't feel strong enough to keep me here. So hopefully it's good, because if it's lame I don't intend to let my Recurring Bill go into the next month.

Vector - Hostile World Discussion - Vector Ganker's Chronicles Limited Edition! Ganker's Chronicles Limited Edition! Zerotolerance 0 04/11/2006 17:31

The Matrix is serious business!

Here's to opening another can of worms. Let's not forget the hardest gank of them all. It packs the biggest punch. The CQ garnered in this side of the business is far worse than any Stun in the other system, Full Auto Redux in CR2.0, or flaming that takes place in a forum.

Sadly, it's the "seriousness" that is MXO itself. It is tainted by a system that itself is an exploit; contradicting itself, by description of abilities available for the player to use. The exploit is that of not wasting your memory allotment, escaping character regret and adding customization through the various trees you've leveled. Oftentimes a superior build is found, most often by accident, and it becomes the favored build. How many were banned for Hacker in the old combat system? Not a one was held accountable for it.

Now comes the release of a glitched system that SOE should take credit and accountability for, and fix as opposed to placing an in-game message that tells you not to use the ability trees you own, fully leveled. Because of who's mistake are we penalized for playing a game that we pay for? In all of my years of playing games, I've found that ithey are played on OUR TIME. We are paying for a service and it's understood that the service is to be provided in a clean way, so as to not provoke ire from the parents of children playing. And yet everyone who I know in this game is over the age of 20. So that means we should settle this maturely, if it weren't for the big children...

And as the truest Ganker of all, I wish to ask you one question...

Who had the nerve to /csr instead of /bug the supposed exploit? I guess that doesn't matter anymore. I mean, I know who it was but I hardly think it would produce anything constructive at this point. I know who you are, but perhaps you would step up? If someone doesn't call you out in a reply already. I'd just like him to know he takes the game more seriously than he does the community; that he was more upset about being unable to win than fixing the problem of the game provided by SOE itself.

People grow a Neo complex, I suppose. Your community CQ is growing, but only because of your mission team with the other Neo.

Handforged blade. It's pretty old, the scabbard's chipped up. There's also a few veins of rust in the blade, but it's not visible with the webcam's quality -- or lack thereof. But it's sharp as Hell and the only way to dull it would be to chop at some rocks for a while.

Here's a site you can go to if you're looking to either appraise one you've got or if you want to find out how to get a hold of one. http://www.historicalweapons.com/japaneseswords.html -- If you look around, you can find some good places online that ship them from all around Asia. You can even try Ebay, I'm sure, but make sure it's "hand forged" or else it's not going to be worth a whole lot. No stainless steel or carbon blades. You want folded steel.

I got pwned too much. Because I suck so bad I am quitting.

I'm calling it quits. Not enough happening in this game for me to stay interested; not enough interest to pay fifteen bucks a month, even if just maybe I decide I feel like playing after a while. I may reactivate again, but I highly doubt it. Even the new cinematics are showing a lack of effort in delivering good content. For every step forward it's another step back. The game's been standing still and only player events seem to make any real progress -- as confusing and unentertaining as the last one was for me.

Nice try, everyone. It's been nice playing with you. I'll be in-game a couple more times, but after the 21st my account is closed. Have fun.

This is a bad idea, isn't it?

Like, what if SOE actually gave a **bleep** about this game enough to put together a real convention-like event for the community of The Matrix Online? It would go downhill fast, because I could see many people coming to the center with brass knuckles in their pockets. I'd be expecting a fight to break out every couple of seconds as soon as we find out each other's in-game names. So many people would just be so scared that the turnout at the event would suck horribly.

I, for one, would go with a bulletproof vest on.
Vector - Hostile World Discussion - Vector Vector Instance Revisited. Vector Instance Revisited. Zerotolerance 0 06/20/2006 16:34

Alright.

This is the last thread I will be starting for a very long time. Most of the community is aware of the fact that I am quitting, but more and more every day I give thanks to myself for making the decision when I did. As time passes and I continue to read the new threads that pop up, I am a little bit saddened as the most prevalent topics include Syntax Vs. Vector, I Pwn Joo, and OMFGSPLOITZ. Is this what it's degraded to? My beloved Vector.

I started playing MXO back in August 2K5, when Justero told me to. When I joined the game, I immediately fell in love with the system as it was nothing like what I'd seen before. Eventually, I would join the Jokerz around level eight as it was destined and then I would begin making friends. Unlike the Syntaxians that have invaded with the delusions that because they were oh so loved on their home server that they would automatically be the best there is on Vector, I made a name for myself by actually learning the system from the ground up and learning from the leadership of Jokerz -- its captains and crews. Not just that, I would also learn through trial and error, and I would fight even when a mere level 42 at Mara Central, running around with the big boys regardless of being a target.

It was fun to get used to the game and it was fun to let others in the opposing organizations get used to me. I grew to love this community, although so many times since I've been here I've seen it picked apart from the inside on out. It's rather sad, seeing players go away, come back, then go away again (possibly for good). It's very grating on my nerves to see forum threads that depict a Syntaxian beating Krytical in a duel when I know that on Vector a duel means an interlock build. So if anything, I've lost all faith in these carebears coming here to participate and have fun; the carebears are only trying to abuse the system, so to speak, by abandoning any form of etiquette.

And some of you might not want to hear it like that, but it's only how I see it.

Why not get along with us here on Vector? As a member of the community myself, I'd like to think of us all as paying customers... But unfortunately, the collective is going to see you as one thing: a guest on our server. So don't wear out your welcome. Krytical is a respected member of our community, carebears. Zion, Merovingian, and Machines of Vector will no doubtedly back him up even if they fight him at all other times. It's not a matter of "I pwn joo" when it comes to us. Vector sticks together, and I'd root for ILLFACE before I'd root for you simply because he is a member of the community, even if he's not the best we have to offer. No offense, ILL. :-p

The fact of the matter is, you're in Vector and therefore you follow the Hostile rules but you also follow what rules we've established in these parts. In the Vector instance, certain Merovingian and Zion factions won't attack me because I've established certain relationships with them. The same applies to a great many of us. Does it mean we're carebears? No, it doesn't. It means that we know how to work together when we have to, even if there are exceptions to the rule. But if you hadn't noticed, there was plenty of smack-talk pre-CR2 and yet when we'd arrived on the QA server, the majority of us under one banner, nobody put up -- everybody shut up.

So let me be the first to show unity amongst Vectorites. You've grinded on Syntax, like you said. But you didn't grind here. You've made a name for yourself on Syntax, but you have no name here. No name. You have won a great number of duels on Syntax, but so far I've seen no honorable wins to your name through Vector. I'm leaving after tomorrow, but when I return I expect to see none of this garbage. It sounds like you're desperately trying to prove something, while we've got nothing to prove to you.

Now get along or go home.

//SOURCE Ronin Relay System

Attention, all Machine Operatives and Zion Soldiers...

As of today I regret to inform you all that Morpheus' Legacy has violated the truce between the Machines and Zion. Outside of combat simulations within Mara, Morpheus' Legacy was witnessed aiding E Pluribus Neo terrorists in protecting Keterina, who may have knowledge regarding how TaeCross was able to unleash a code bomb within the Vector instance -- causing the deaths of a number of Bluepills within the System. E Pluribus Neo does not revere life, choosing to utilize guerilla tactics against the Machines as well abandoning regard for innocent bystanders caught in their outlashes. This hostility will not be tolerated from EPN, and as a result of Morpheus' Legacy's inability to step down from a matter that does not concern them, they are no longer protected by the Truce.

As per Systematica's directive, Machine operatives are to eliminate any of Morpheus' Legacy for their disregard for System Control and therefore the lives taken by E Pluribus Neo's violent acts against their own kine. The ideals that Morpheus' Legacy once carried are no longer valid... Their actions are unacceptable and a reflection of their willingness to undermine the System remaining at peace -- something their mentor and his pupil, Thomas Anderson, sought to their very ends.

If there's three people fighting someone, one in interlock and two others attacking... Why is there a need for a second, third, or fourth MKT to neurodart the person that's getting their *CENSORED* ganked as it is? There's no longer a need for skill in this game. If you're Zion, you can just call one of the thirty Factions that plays on Vector and one of the top ten will show up in numbers to defeat the five or fewer M-named Org members. To make matters worse, usually this is a way to get revenge because there was originally 3 Zion and 3 Machines/Mervs and because the 3 Zion were unable to defeat 3 M's, you're determined to bring back as many as possible to show who the real force is.

During events it works the same way. E Pluribus Neo and Zion aren't supposed to be the same, but when there's an EPN event then surely Zion will show up to help. Oh, there's a Merv event? A Machine Event? Bring every last Zion to kill them all. Nevermind the fact that the Machines are supposed to be getting along with Zion during events. It's only a fair game if Zion wins all the fights. There were a few Zion factions that I had respect for, but even they have proven that all they want to do is "win," not follow the story.

The only way this game is going to be balanced is if they give us a real perk for going to the Merovingian or Machine orgs, otherwise there's no further use for PVP. I played as Zion and let me tell you, it was difficult to get an honest fight... If you interlocked someone, there's no way they're going to make it out. Nine out of ten times I'd have two or three more Zion neurodarting and Full Auto Reduxing the person I was fighting. Now I'm back on the receiving end of that and it felt wrong from both sides, but now it feels even worse... We'll never succeed in an event that Zion doesn't want us to. We're not supposed to ally ourselves with Mervs. As a Machine, I'm content to quit this game knowing that in several months there will only be Zion and Merovingian players remaining, but mostly Zion. The few Machines that still play will grow more frustrated until they quit as well, as they've slowly been doing.

The only thing that PVP proves in this game now is that when you defeat someone it means you're going to get slaughtered by the reinforcements. If you single someone out, their friends will get you as they fall. If you're outnumbered, they will give chase. You can be awesome and help one side only to get eliminated as soon as you're the only "red" on the screen. There's ONE red, let's everyone use a root. There's eight Zion and three Machines. They may be able to take one of us down, so check this out... You, load a Patcher Sim. I'll load UGM if you load Doctor. With buffs and sims, those three reds won't be able to fight us three to one. Remember, if they roll out use Crippling Throw.

Man, I just did alot of griping and it wasn't necessary, either. Afterall, I've read threads like these over and over, repeatedly. I'm now guilty of one too. It's not going to change things. It won't get better. I'll just deactivate my account for a while and then reactivate it again when I get bored and miss the masochism of paying to play a game that would be really good if the players weren't a bunch of ganking noobs.

While there's still some glitches in the system to work out, I think the state of the game has improved for the most part. Despite the decisions that Senior GM Brewko makes here and there, despite the trash-talking on the forums, and despite the hostilities in general... The Halloween content has spread people out... We've got edits to our descriptions coming soon! And we've also got Luggables to look forward to, which will spread us out yet again.

Vector PET is trying to get people to enjoy the game.

The Devs are giving us more events. They even gave us one for each org last week.

Let's start focusing on the positive *poop*. There's way too much too gripe about, but it's been getting old for quite some time.

Vector - Hostile World Discussion - Vector Solo the Taskmaster Solo the Taskmaster Zerotolerance 0 01/22/2007 11:56

Guide to Soloing Taskmaster v1.0
------------------------------------------

I.] PREPARATION

1.] Bring the following items: 20-40 Silver Bullets, 20 Health Pills, 10 Tactics Booster 4.0's.
2.] Optionally, you can also bring: 20-40 Wooden Stakes, +More Health Pills, Health Booster 4.0's.
3.] Load these abilities: Dual Pistol Execution [Duelist], Pistol Aerial, Disarming Shot, Pistol Barrage, Three Round Burst [Rifleman], Firearms Expert, and Adrenalin Booster under the Awakened Tree.
4.] Optionally, you can also load SMG's and use Clamor to give both Stun and Staggered states.
5.] Optionally, you can also load Dual Pistol Dash to cause an Enraged state.
6.] Gear: You'll want to bring a Ballistic Damage/Defense/Resistance coat, Coward's Pants, Ethereal Shoes, and as much regeneration gear as possible. Because my build already works off of a Health/IS Regen stat set and clothing, this works well for me. You may want to change it up and use Resist as it seems to work well too.

II.]  CONTROL MOBS

When you get to the top of the Zero One Taskmaster's lair, you will need to first pull and kill the green soldiers. After you do this, do not loot all of them. Leave at least one remaining. This will cause them to not respawn a few seconds after the last body disappears. Next, you may either draw and kill the two level 50 soldiers next to the Taskmaster or you may simply choose to pull the Taskmaster away himself.

IF the level 50's are drawn when you pull the Taskmaster, make sure you kill them first. Their stuns and interrupts will not be pleasant if you engage the Taskmaster first. You can generally kill them without taking much damage as you would already Interlocked by the level 60 boss. Once the others are dead, pull the Taskmaster away to the slightly lower platform -- across the small bridge -- and engage as soon as a Stun or, preferably, a Staggered state comes up. By interlocking him away from where the green soldiers will respawn, you do not risk being attacked by the minions.

III.] STAYING ALIVE

You could have popped the Tactics Booster or Health Booster already, but if you haven't then please do so now. The extra CT will help you to keep from missing your specials while interlocked with Tasky. You want that Staggered state so that you can immediately start off with Three Round Burst. Even better if you activate Firearms Skill here, although you should be activating it whenever's it's refreshed. With a 28 in Perception, I dish out 95 normal with the Power attack and 116 when I've got the damage buffer running.

Follow the Three Round Burst with this combination, rinse, and repeat.
- Dual Pistol Execution
- Disarming Shot
- Pistol Barrage
- Pistol Aerial

Keep Power tactic on. By using the first two abilities in this string, you're keeping his own CT low so that you retain the higher chance of outrolling him throughout the battle. If he starts outrolling you several times consecutively then perhaps it's time to chug down a few pills. Even if your health isn't too low, I like to ingest a Health Inhaler and benefit from some HPS. Good to keep your health high as it feels good while watching Taskmaster's go down.

Pistol Aerial can get a good stun and Pistol Barrage can render him Powerless. Both have their advantages.

IV.] KEEPING IS

Er, I told you to have Regen gear! Widow's Moor, Seraphim Shoes, and Sakura Bandana. Of course we're not all that lucky, so just regular Health Regen or IS Cost Modifier gear may benefit you.

Here's what to do if you're low on IS.
- Use the Silver Bullets and Wooden Stakes so that you're hitting, he's not hitting, and you're recharging your health and IS.
- Let your Power Attack go through some more. If you've recently popped a Disarming Shot or a DPE, you should outroll him.
- Use those Health Pills! Aaahh!

If all goes well, Taskmaster should be dead within 10-15 minutes.

Wow. Just the other day I was defending the game but I'm not sure I'm right anymore. I'll post a few screenshots later, but it seems nowdays there's less cohesive PVP and so much gutter talk that I'm really not feeling at all like jacking in. BIades is still around, still trash-talking in tells. I wondered why nobody's reported him, so I tried to report him myself for the first time after a month of hate speech. No wonder he's not banned. SOE has made it far too difficult to submit a report on someone. The /CCR menu is horrible.

Since my sub renewed on the 28th, I'm locked in to another month. Just don't expect to see me as much from this point onward.

Vector - Hostile World Discussion - Vector Vector RPvP Planning Thread Vector RPvP Planning Thread Zerotolerance 0 02/23/2007 11:35

This is a thread that crosses with Yasamuu's sign-up thread. Some good suggestions were made in the server-wide meeting last night located in Club Sphinx [Dannah Heights East Hardline] where we discussed the state of Vector and the real way it can be saved. The best way to acquire Dev interaction and genuine Events is to prove that we can remain protagonists -- calm and mature -- in the presence of rival organizations. To build a sort of tension amongst rival Factions and Orgs, I'd like to offer my own two suggestions:

 - For RP purposes, fights out in the open (in the streets, on sidewalks) are open declarations of violence that disturb Bluepills. While some Factions and Orgs may not care about this risk, there are those of us who should follow a passive-aggressive approach. Does this mean retreat? No. This means that perhaps judgment on taking it to the rooftops or in-doors would be in order. Obviously, this would apply most to Organizations such as the Machines, Cypherites, and certain Zion.

- We should establish a timezone and timeframe when all of those who've signed up might want to remain somewhat in character during both Area Chat and Team Chat (when applicable). To help promote RP, perhaps even carry out your normal activities as Factions from an in character perspective. Your team can mission grind, clear hideouts, etc. and if you stumble across a rival Org decide whether or not it's best to attack or greet the fellow Redpills.

- Use the /Ignore feature as most stated. Soon, those who do not wish for more than mindless PVP will find themselves very lonely while unable to feed off of feedback to their mockery. Grievers can only affect you when you let them. If they are a nuissance and your interaction is important you can always relocate and omit the disturbance from your memory. You can pick some other time to pwn the idiocy.

Vector - Hostile World Discussion - Vector Red Pills = Inferior ? Red Pills = Inferior ? Zerotolerance 0 04/15/2007 02:56

For every Live Event and for nearly every instance where bad guys are spawned we are made to face 10 or so level 60's. In some cases we are made to fight twice as many, if not three times as many, level 55's. Basically, what I am asking is how do players stack up against anything other than another level 50 player in terms of combat? For the most part, in every scenario, a live event character should be able to outmatch (and will outmatch) a red pill or two or three? Or perhaps even between five and ten...

I can understand not wanting the live event characters to die when they are not supposed to, but it removes the satisfaction that this game once promised. Being able to alter the course of the storyline is a big selling point and yet it's not very often we're catered to with something course-changing. Instead, we're forced into an outrage over the shattering of previously-thought course-changing status symbols, such as the passing out of beta clothes.

If devs can deactivate PVP flags, why don't we see more level 30 and level 50 event characters or perhaps more NAMED event characters that can potentially become cannon fodder? Instead, we're forced to gather numbers even when we roll solo so that we can take on the unbeatable level 55. I just killed Taskmaster the other day and I can't even scratch Hypatia! Waaah!

Vector - Hostile World Discussion - Vector CQ Rewards System CQ Rewards System Zerotolerance 0 04/22/2007 12:58

This is going to be my first locked thread! I'm almost sure of it, since it's arisen from a locked one...

How is bringing up an old thread to try to suggest a CQ Reward System qualify as a thread worthy of being locked? The reason why these boards exist is to throw ideas/discussion about and try to come up with some sort of resolution. Even if the Devs/Mods do not find a way to implement them, we're promoting ideas that can either be taken into consideration or discarded... or apparently locked...

The idea of a CQ-Based Reward system for PVP has been brought up several times. As opposed to creating a new thread, an old one was returned. An old one with some pretty interesting ideas, despite SOE's inability to utilize the system suggested. It doesn't work game-mechanics-wise, but perhaps someone else could come up with some better suggestions.

Let's get away from the hate-filled, trash-talk, flame-threads.

If we can't get back on track with discussions that might actually matter, can we at least fill the boards with spam threads as opposed to flamewars? Spam has the potential to be much more entertaining than finding out who's johnson rod can touch Saturn.

As of today, I'm on strike.

Since there aren't any other good MMO's out there, I'll be keeping my main account open here so that I can stay on the forums. I just won't be jacking in unless there's something decent taking place. There's just not enough going on to justify me logging in. Fairly soon I suspect I'll think the same of my sub as well... But I won't jump the gun and say "O-M-F-G CANCEL!!1"

We need that final server merge. I want to kill everyone on Recursion and Syntax. Until there's a resolution to solve the decline in our population, I'm not sure how much of me you'll be seeing online. Out of roughly two-hundred people in my buddylist, only twenty to thirty jack in regularly and hardly ever all at once.

Those of you who have me on AIM, keep in touch.

On the American gameshow, the answer was:

"In this online game, one of the main characters Morpheus
was killed during a live event."

The question (or answer, considering the gameshow is somewhat a*s backwards):

What is The Matrix Online.

Lol. I thought that was interesting. Even though to my knowledge Morpheus wasn't killed during a live event but instead during a cinematic.

I heard a loud pop and then my puter died. I thought it was my power supply. Actually, it was my CPU Fan and Heatsink. The *CENSORED* thing ran so hot, it melted the plastic frame on the motherboard and the fan popped out of place, the weight of it falling upon and cracking my video card. My puter is totally fuxored for the next good while. Right now I am using my laptop. I have two other computers, but neither of them can run MXO for varying reasons. As I can afford a new video card or use one of the two I have lying around, I can't afford the motherboard and the chances I'll even be able to get a socket 754 are slim anyway.

I will see what I can do about this, but my guess it will be at least three weeks before I can get back in.

As of Oct. 30th, I am unable to jack in until further notice.
