Oh.. just on this subject... I am correct in saying there are some clothes / items out there that are specific to certain servers? I think i read that somewhere. Is it versions of clothing or something that are only available on say syntax and dont appear on vector or recursion?

You'd be suprised! I still get people coming up to me confused that ive got a low level with me. Still everyone has their own method of doing these things.

I originally posted this on the Recursion forum because that is where my character is, but maybe it is better suited here?
Okay, as I’m what amounts to a complete and utter newbie to the lore of the Matrix, I’m absolutely full of questions. I’m not sure the questions below are in any special order beyond off the top of my head, but I DID make an attempt to search out the answers from various fan websites and these forums before posting. So please be gentle if the next thread over explains everything and I somehow missed it. 1. Mega City is where the current game environment is located obviously, but is it the actual total supposed expanse of the Matrix? I’m trying to figure out if the Matrix is a global simulation of the entire Earth circa 2100 or just Mega City, with boundaries no one ever questioned for some reason like the movie Dark City. Or is the whole world simulated, visiting Paris and New York and Moscow is possible, and we just suspend our disbelief as players about not being able to go there for the same reasons we have to in any other game where real estate of the fantasy world is limited by development time and technology? From what i understand the MegaCity is just one City. Its based on an american city and there is no reference to any other cities like Paris etc. 2. RSI are the visual representation of how our characters perceive themselves, right? So do they age or change at all based on any changes the operator is undergoing in the real world? Is that up to the redpill at all, or is the RSI mostly a subconscious manifestation? You can now change your RSI with RSI pills. You can change several elements like hair style, hair colour, facial details, facial detail colours, face style (im sure) and body type. For a full list of how and where search the forums for RSI pills. 3. Once a person becomes a redpill, gets unplugged, and starts jacking back in as an operator for their faction, what changes actually happen where their ability to relate to bluepills and the world they knew is concerned? The redpill knows the truth, but the bluepill isn’t any wiser. Is there any reason a redpill couldn’t carry on like normal with bluepills if they desired to? If they had family and friends, could they still safely carry on with those family and friends if they wanted to? What your talking about is more RP related than anything. If you choose to you could create a story where you do something like that. Alot of people leave their past behind them in game. I guess it would depend on what org you join, as i doubt the machines would be too happy about talking to bluepills. Physically you can talk to bluepills in game but youll get nothing but random comments. 4. Another question on the same train of thought, what other in-Matrix changes take place for a redpill as far as their former bluepill lives are concerned? Yesterday, they had a bluepill identity, a job, financial responsibilities, maybe property, and so on. Today they’re awakened to the truth and living on a hovercraft. Do they still have access to all that stuff in the Matrix if they desired? Are the changes forced on them by their new status in the Matrix or is it just usually by choice? As above its more RP related and that is entirely down to you. Your choice to become a redpill means you would probably be far too busy fighting for chosen cause rather than look back over financial invests or such. 5. Once again on the same track, without understanding all the details of the current state of affairs, what is the general idea of what each faction is generally working toward? What is the general view of each major faction toward the Matrix and how it should be interacted with or even lived in by their redpills? It occurs to me that a hovercraft crew might be annoyed by a crew member that wants to jack in and hold onto parts of their old life, because that is just wasted time taken away from furthering the mission of the faction. Or maybe not? That would really depend on which org you join. Each faction has their own goals and their own way of doing things. 6. I saw a reference somewhere to a place called Abaddon? It seemed to infer that it might be some kind of Merovingian follower’s holding in the real world? Like New Zion, but for Merovingian types? Most RP factions claim areas of their own in the real and some stay on their own ships. This can apply across all orgs. 7. I’ve seen a thread or two about where non-Zionist redpills live outside of the Matrix, with a suggestion that the Machinists might live in barracks outside the Machine City, but there wasn’t much about where the Merovingians might live beyond their hovercrafts. I guess a Merovingian aligned hovercraft visiting New Zion is out of the question too, right? Its not entirely out of the question. Would make for an interesting series of events as im sure the security measures New Zion would take would be intense. 8. My vague recollection was that if you die in the Matrix, you die in real life on the hovercraft too. What is the explanation for why our redpills survive defeat and are able to come back? I dont actually know this one... i know some people make use of Emergency Jack-Out Proceedure. That’s probably enough for now, though I’m sure I’ll be back for more. Thanks so much for any responses and helpful guidance ahead of time!

Syna wrote: The fastest way to do this is to get someone to make a low level character and help you, or to use two accounts at once. The level 50 loads Teleport Teammember and a few offensive area hacks. Might get a few heals in there too. Don't bother with getting high level attacks or high level heals, none of that is necessary. The low level needs to hack the Bathary Node. So do you, but I assume you already have it tagged. I always make a new character, /suicide to log in as a level 1 and then tag the node and a hardline. I'll be level 3. The lower level your lowbie is, the easier the NPC's are to kill. I'll get to that in a second. The Corruptor spawns every 45 minutes. To skip this, you have to teleport the lowbie around. With every teleport you have a chance to spawn the Corruptor on the lowbie. Shouldn't take more than 10 teleports, which saves you the time waiting for one to spawn. After spawning, you and the lowbie have to get at a little distance from the Corruptor. Every minute or two minutes it attacks you and takes away 80% of your health (notice its a percentage, not an amount). Need to find the right distance, but that's not too hard to do. Because you spawned the Corruptor with the lowbie, the NPC's will be 3 levels higher as the lowbie. Yippy, no level 53's! They're easy to kill =) The Corruptor will stay for 45 minutes. I load area hacks because they have a longer cast timer than the Ballista hacks. If I kill the low level NPC's too quick, I have to get near the Corruptors attack range to loot them. I rather have a longer cast timer so I don't have to walk so much. Every now and then a random spawn of level 53's will come. You can hyperjump to get rid of those. Or you can try to find the stairs that connect Bathary with Stamos. There are two of these. If you can get the Corruptor to spawn in Bathary, but stay in Stamos then these random spawn won't be bothering you. Make sure you hack the Stamos node on your account and the lowbie one. To kill the Corruptor you need 340 frags. These can be traded for insecticide at the Fumigator. The Corruptor has 5100 health and doesn't regenerate the health it loses. Each spray of insecticide does 15 damage, regardless of your characters level. Remember the Corruptor takes away 80% of your health every minute or so. It's therefore best to attack it with the lowbie, so you can heal it up to its max health quick. The level 50 stays just out of its attack range, attacks the few NPC's that come with the Corruptor. I think it stops spawning those if you don't loot the corpses, but I am not sure. Been too long since I did this. They're easy to kill anyway. All of this takes a little while to get used to. Once you farmed your first stack of frags you'll get the hang of it. It's all too easy. Just extremely time consuming, especially when you're going for the Headgear. Good luck.
Perfect. I would tell you the exact load you need but i cant jack in for the forsable. The best place to do this is on the warehouse roofs in bathory. I have farmed a headgear in 2 days before. Its mind numbingly boring and not really worth the reward to be honest but at the time i was selling them on order so it made me really quite rich.

Seems to me a lot of people are making assumptions based on the text on the map says. Simple fact is we are not going to KNOW what is going on until the patch notes or Rarebit comes out and tells us exactly what is going on. Until that point im going to reserve judgement on what will or wont be happening in this area. One thing we can all be thankful is something brand new to play with.

There's a common misconception with constructs and the "Archives".
A construct simply means any world not connected to the main simulation. Technically, you could call the Matrix its own construct.
The Archives are named so because they represent previous versions of the Matrix. They are Constructs, yes, but Constructs themselves don't adhere to that rule.
So technically, this could be a construct. Hope that cleared it up.
Heh ok. I knew what i meant anyway... but yeah i knew that just used the wrong word is all. Still.. i seriously hope this isnt an Archive.

I personally feel its either an extension of an existing district (although there are many places it could be added too) due to what was said about its size or a new district entirely (that may be added to at a later date). It wouldnt make sense to have a construct that basically functions like a district. I thought the constructs were supposed to represent previous version of the simulation?

Honesty is not something one gets easily here.. Its the same for every MMO. Cant release anything until day before or hours into the patching process for the said MMO.. Giving spoilers of something to be easily forgotten like the images which are shown then could be another chapter in time is mostly what this is all about.
Could be until after the last critical this go around will we all see what the bridge work in process is. When the next chapter is out.
If thats not honest enough for ya then shoot my years being on MMO's and seeing how Sony does crap is not good anymore...
Ach id never expect it to be honest with ya.. but a girls gotta try.
If you can't guess what it is, then you're slow on the roll.
I can make assumption as to what it is. Then again why should i have to? Im the paying customer afterall!
I mean the image itself is straight forward enough... bridge, dock and water.. so i would say.. new area...

How about this... why dont you just tell us what it is instead of shrowding it in mystery? we already have enough mystery and i for one would rather things were just spelled out. I mean why build something up, get all this speculation only to lead to some people being dissapointed. Im sure the community would rather you just said... hey guys check this out.. its gonna be a new area for you to play or its a construct or its just a bridge. That way the community knows what they are getting. I mean its a cool image but..... just tell us?
Someone has there britches in a twist.. -_- first time seeing these?
Really its a guessing game and who doesn't like games >_< and besides if we all find out what we are getting itil get more either a thumbs up or down soon before.
either way someone will be disappointed so why do it so early?
