Spies can beat hackers only if they get lucky, or if the hacker is inexperienced or allows the fight to be dictated by the spy. If the spy keeps out of interlock and resorts to pure free fire, then he has a chance (although, with Destroy Resolve and Inefficiency Field, that's one dead MKT). IL generally destroys MKTs, especially Ravager builds. I haven't fought many Ballistas as MKT, but the nature of the rolls is the same, and no matter how good (or bad, even) the MKT is, the failure has to be on the side of the hacker in order for the Spy to win. Now, in order to claim that subjective experience is tantamount to solid evidence concerning game mechanics, like so many people are fond of lately, here's a little story: When I leveled up MKT on Recursion, I had RstNPce load up a hacker tree and fight me with a strategy I told him. He'd never used hacker in CR2 much before, and this loadout never, but he was able to destroy me 4 out of 5 times simply because hacker beats MKTs and he had a strategy on how to use the build. Ballista has far less versatility than most hacker builds, which makes it difficult to combat the versatility of Spy. However, the damage that's dished out is substantial, and with the hacker's perma roots (some over 25 seconds), the hacker should be able to do something like a Logic Cannon. This belongs next to Krytical's "How To Beat An MKT" guide. Still, I'd rather people found out through adaptation than being told. Anyone can read Prima and max out their characters in FFVIII. *Shrug*

You do not need a ton of defense or accuracy. You need to stay alive and let the randomness (and your STATS) do the rest of the work for you.

Everything else is for IS and Health.

Before CR2, some 50's could kill between three and five 50's solo. It's very likely that this guy was talking out his arse a la Ace Ventura. Unless the level 50 had ability maker on, I doubt he'd get one down to three-quarters of their health. Incidentally, when I was level 8 I watched a swarm of 20's and 30's at Moriah East (Zion) attacking a single level 50 Merv. I counted 16's, 24's, 27's, 34's, and a 37. They were landing states, but his health didn't drop below full.

My idea for a solution is VERY simple. Make all three servers into one server, with International and Downtown being Hostile. We no longer have to deal with a lack of people and everyone can PVP or be carebears to their liking. Pac zones and un-Pac zones can be raised and lowered to the devs liking and they don't have to split their attention between three servers and make any of them feel left out.

Just as MA can kill 3 people with little IS using state specials, MKT can do so with sneak attacks. Your portrayal of the Spy tree as imbalanced is slanted and fails to consider all aspects of the combat system. Any decent hacker can destroy even a good MKT. MA and MKT are equal attribute-wise, it comes down to the skill of the player and the strength of their builds in such fights. I've fought MAs as MKT what were a cakewalk in IL, and I've had every single one of my specials outrolled as a MKT fighting a MA with high accuracy. MKT really isn't imbalanced. Yes it has low IS cost but it also has no free fire. The exact same goes for hacker - low IS for dmg abilities, hell look at the Code Infections and their 10 IS cost. But there is a method to this madness, which is often overlooked. Also, neither of the Hacker stats affect their Ballistic Damage or Accuracy for freefire. They rely solely on their hacks for efficiency.
Shut down a MKT's sneak attack and there's no need to gripe about how overpowered they are. I think most people just go nuts when they realize they get punted for 1700 damage and feel that it's the end of the world against MKT's. Remove that 1700 damage and you're dealing with perfectly normal attacks of between 200-400 damage. Last I checked, DPE does between 350-500 and Deadly Throw only does somewhere around 250-325.

I am from Syntax and I spend time in DT and Inter, why should I move to Richland and Westview because I dont want to PvP? When you get to a certain level, missions started in Richland force you to Westview when the enemies are 15-20 levels ahead of you, so the obvious idea is to move to International when a load of 50s will make your job even harder, no thanks. * Anyway, isn't there a reason Vector isn't as popular.... mabey, just mabey, not everyone wants to be perma flagged? Mabey /pvp does a good enough job? If you want to PvP, flag up and wait in a popular area if they want to fight, they will attack. If you are on Vector and you want to PvP, attacking someone who doesn't will just mean they move away from you and the PvP will stop if they do they will fight back, same as Syntax and Recursion. * Also, the merger of 3 servers into one is the last thing to happen before MxO is switched off. None of the servers are left out and they are going a good job considering. If people want perma flagging, thats what vector is for, if they started a character on that server they wouldn't need perma flagged zones on the non-hostile places. Non-hostile means PvP is optional, being forced into other districts is not optional. * * Welcome to leveling on Vector. You're only concerned about an area of the city being permaflagged (like Constructs) because you're used to not being flagged. If you've played this game for any amount of time, you're used to the way your servers operates and you're like everyone else -- resistant to change. I'm not stating that as a flame; I'm just using it to detail your feelings -- your apprehension towards my suggestions. Many people on Vector griped about the Pacification Zones, but then they found that the Zones were a good idea. I feel as though making Downtown and International into PVP zones on all servers, Richland and Westview into Pacified Zones, would change things up. Make Clubs in International and Downtown pacified, as safespots (or "holy ground" and you've created a more MATRIX-like experience of danger and hostility lurking around every corner. * Maybe /pvp doesn't, tho? I have lowbie alts on Syntax and Recursion. More often than naught I find that Mara Central on both of the non-hostile servers is rather boring. Only a few people flag and you have to deal with blue Logic Cannons. I'll sum it up to them being carebear servers and needing to exist for a reason. Not everyone wants to PVP, just as you stated. But there should be areas setup in the Matrix where you're safe as well as areas setup that have you constantly living in fear. You're going to be more careful Downtown, obviously, if you're flagged while there. You'll be forced to adapt and learn something new. It might even be fun. * I'm not saying that they aren't doing a good job with this game. Certainly, other people have griped from ALL servers about not getting enough attention. I think the players are somewhat demanding, but that goes hand in hand with their dedication and a desire to want more, more, more. So maybe it's not demanding, afterall? In due time, we'll all get more attention but there are days, weeks, and months where Vector seems to be a dying cancer-patient. In the event that Vector becomes so dead that we'll need a realistic solution for all of the players on Vector to keep playing, merging it with another server -- if not both -- is going to be the logical answer. Of course, Vectorites won't like this one bit. So there'd have to be a way to appease both crowds. Having an entire area of districts as Hostile would be an answer, but I understand you don't want to have that on your server. It's opposition like that which SOE will listen to, so luckily my suggestion will probably never come to reality. You deserve to have your peace and diplomacy. It's all that's going to be left, Recursion and Syntax, when we've finished losing the rest of our players.

Additionally, there's plenty of roleplayers on Vector. Afterall, a third of those roleplayers left for Recursion. We'd all win, because then we'd have those people back.

You can solo someone who has this build quite easily if you manage to keep them Powerless and/or Stunned long enough to interrupt their heals once they're below half health. Also, use desperation periodically for an initiative boost.

Your statements there are godly, dude.
It sums up the issue we're having. With a higher population and therefore a more diverse group of people you'd find it much easier to pick your targets instead of trying to snipe one MKT with another two in Sneak. :D

No they couldn't. And if the servers are restarded, they're automatically moved into the owners inventory. You're proposing that every piece of eyewear be somehow binded to your character. From a developer's standpoint, this is far too difficult for such a meager, aesthetical change.

RP and PVP are both alive on Vector, if you know where to look. The only problem we have stems from the majority of our population moving over to Recursion to participate in the Vector Olympics, er, Recursion Olympics or from the original migration of almost every large faction from Vector to Recursion. Dark Mavericks and Furious Angels were once very prominent groups of Mervs and Zion, respectively, until they opted to leave. Personally, I've had a hard time stumbling across RP on Syntax and not so hard a time finding it on Vector. Unless all of the RP that takes place on Syntax happens through tells, I haven't really seen anything outstanding. If anything, I'm more bored to tears over the lack of anything to do on Syntax. With the exception of one person who has helped me quite a lot, I find that my life on Syntax is spent slow and boring. While running missions, I am flagged in the hopes that I'll stumble across someone who is my level to fight. If I stumble across someone who is much higher and they kill me, so be it. At least it's something... I'l just kill them when I am 50 in carebear land.

PvP is overrated, personally if you can use teamwork to kill an opponent fine, but I've only seen one or two examples of that in the whole game, what we have atm is "chase the guy till he's out of emote distance or too far from my friends" and "he's in IL, shoot him" In the end I'm not a Mara C fan, I'll go there on the odd occasion if I want to do a little sniping but I'd prefer to find a 50 standing alone and release everything I have on him and move on to another hardline and another 50 standing alone. On vector it's generally known that when /duel'ing you don't pop a pill, TB, HB or get buffed (unless it's a self buff build) saying that people who duel use exploits is complete BS, with not a scrap of evidence to prove it, and last time I checked Macro's are allowed ingame for fighting, although I wouldn't recommend u do it since if something goes wrong and you need to rearrange yer attacks, I wouldn't like to start scrolling through abilities tab. I enjoy fighting Tytanya and all of a sudden I see her in area chat with:

I remember asking a lith Dev as to why it wasn't going to be work on until it was fixed; his response was something on the lines of "We now have PvP hostile areas and even servers, so there's really no need." Meh... I don't know if that's what the current remaining Dev team will say, but I always thought it was a poor excuse on the matter. I think if this was ever completed it would expand alot of the possibilities for RPvP and give us plenty to do, including figuring it into Tournaments. Thanks for the response, Insertion. Even if it crushed my hopes.

Operatives,
Ignore the threats being processed by the Children of Zion. They are a minor annoyance to our agendas at best, and a thorn in the side of the truce at worst. Any group who aids in the protection of the General refuses to adhere to Machine Control within the Matrix. The General is an Exile program that takes priority in schedules for deletion and those who wish to interfere with mandates from the System will be punished for their meddling in our affairs -- or so I would suspect, as orders are pending from Gray.
The General is a dangerous program, redpills, and has proven capable of tainting the mindsets of those who he keeps within his company. Do not let Zion militants and their words deter us from our course. Any ill that comes of their allies being targeted will be dealt with separately, I hope. The decontamination of commando code is on the top of our list, as even now it threatens the fragility of the truce with Zion.

I have started a character on Vector and there I will expect to be flagged constantly and I will be in my combat gear a lot more often. I wear RP gear on Vector. Luckily, the Ronin uniform has some Enhanced level 50 items in it.

There is a lot to change in something like this, CR2 took ages to make, and even when they did it took a month or 2 to fix it again. "Melee" implies weapons as well, so it could stick within the realm of Melee Acc/Def/Dam/Res. So yes, it would still be MA. Of course, it still not going to fall under MA because it's not going to happen.
Remember, before CR2 Spy was a mix of Melee and Ranged tactics. Your sneak attack had its own stat, but melee was needed to finish off your opponent in IL if they weren't already dead whereas Ranged was attached to all of your knife attacks. Sorry, just reminiscing there.

Through Kaku's philosophies, everything that happened in the Matrix storyline is theoretically possible.
Once a civilization reaches class 2 it will no longer be subject to death. Science can overcome it, with technology obviously being much better than it is today. Of course we're a ways away from attaining such an existence, as Kaku mentions the possibility that many past civilizations never made the transition from Class 0 to Class 1. Pride and arrogance has a way of tearing civilizations apart. It's worth noting that we are classified as a Class 0 and that things like the internet are the precursor to Class 1, where communication is spread across the globe in an instant.

(( Formatted and edited for more of a flow, with some mild grammatical adjustments. Nothing was removed or added, just rearranged to make more sense. This goes back to a live event that took place months ago, though I was not here for the continuation that followed in the wake of meeting with the Bluepill and attempting to track down Sarv. If anyone can refer me to what actually happened in my absence, it would be appreciated as it would fill in the gap that I missed. Apparently Charubin is at odds with Sutola and I, but most likely with other Cypherites too. ))
W4rbl4de (Phone): Salutations.
Charubin (Phone): Hot *CENSORED*, how'd I end up in the middle ages?
W4bl4de (Phone): Such a greeting is old form, I suppose. Would you rather I introduced myself with gunfire? In my experiences, it is much more commonplace.
Charubin (Phone): Whatever. You want something?
W4rbl4de (Phone): What I 'want' makes no difference to you, I'm sure. What I am requesting, however, is a brief meeting so that you might introduce yourself properly... I like to familiarize myself with the would-be power players of the simulations. The fact is, I've heard of you. Your reputation precedes you and I don't just keep tabs on anyone.
Charubin (Phone): You know what? What the Hell, come on up to Duality. I am just by the elevator door.
W4rbl4de (Phone): I am already in the area. I will be arriving shortly.
--
W4rbl4de enters stealth.
Elevator door opens.
Charubin: Oooh, scary.
Charubin taps his foot.
W4rbl4de: Stealth protocols are for a reason, operative. I don't like surprises. At least not ones I am not already privvy to.
Charubin: And I don't like talking to thin air.
W4rbl4de deactivates stealth.
W4rbl4de: I assure you, I'm quite solid.
Charubin taps his foot and shrugs.
Charubin: So who the Hell are you?
W4rbl4de: My name is Bryce. I do what I can to watch over the simulation and its denizens. Those who haven't been pulled from the System.
Charubin: Oh? A toaster, then?
W4rbl4de chuckles.
W4rbl4de: Please... I am not affiliated with the Machines. Not anymore, at least.
Charubin: So a freelance hippie, then?
W4rbl4de: Freelance Samurai, if you will. I hold a certain respect for the Law of the Land; those green characters that comprise your very essence in this place.
Charubin: Okay. Ronin, then?
W4rbl4de: ...though that's not a name I've gone by for quite some time. Yes. Ronin.
Charubin shrugs.
Charubin: I wasn't asking for your life story.
W4rbl4de: You asked who the hell I--
Charubin: Bryce was enough.
W4rbl4de grunts.
W4rbl4de: If I was going to tell you my life story, I'd ask you to take a seat--
Charubin: Okay, so, what... are you done?
W4rbl4de: ...
W4rbl4de: Either way, I am somewhat of an investigator. I'd learned of your presence not long ago.
Charubin: Lucky me.
W4rbl4de: I'd like to hear your story, if you will, more direct - more to the point. You know how word of mouth distorts things... I'd like to hear it from you...
Charubin: Okay, well... Once upon a time, I gave the big screw you to some guy asking questions!
Charubin insults W4rbl4de.
W4rbl4de: I see.
Charubin: You see? Hmf. Warblade, is it?
W4rbl4de raises an eyebrow.
Charubin: I remember you. I remembered you the second you stepped through that elevator... You were there when Sarv got me out of here. You're the one that a$shole - Sutola - sent after Sally.
Jedi44 uses root on W4rbl4de.
Charubin: So sorry if I'm not gonna open right up for ya.
Jedi44 prepares Logic Cannon; Root wears off.
Charubin: See you around.
W4rbl4de opens door and jumps to the lower roof. Jedi44 follows...
Fight ensues and Jedi44 is sent to her loading area by W4rbl4de.
W4rbl4de tracks Charubin to the yellow line subway...
W4rbl4de: You will need to send more contraband signals than that. Sutola sent me for a reason. Be seeing you, Charubin.
Charubin shrugs indifferently.
Charubin's signal is lost...

If we had a storyline/world event that implemented a semi-permanent De-pacification Zone that would pwnzorz. I'll second that.

Due to the collective effort of Zion, the Machines, and Les Enfant Terribles we were able to complete the Watchmaker's code and he was able to return to the Source as a result, deleted by Agent Harris to preserve memory space and valuable resources.
Thanks to the JoKeRz, Morpheus' Legacy, Les Enfants Terribles, Likwid Hyuzu, Network Imperium, Children of Zion, Protectors of Neo's Sacrifice and the Furious Angels. Others who participated that were not mentioned I apologize to, however these were the Factions present and/or accounted for when we assembled strike teams and closed in on Club Succubus to retrieve the stolen code.

This is still going down tonight, right? It's my last night...
But on a positive note, I will be returning to MXO in about a week. The event was fun and both the Machines and Zion worked together well throughout it's duration. To be able to ally two orgs and defeat the Merovingian forces in a way that felt as though we were following the storyline -- whereas Machines usually fight Zion alongside the Mervs -- made me realize that the community here on Vector really is stronger than ever.
It's nothing personal, Mervs.

I'm pleased that it's not an "Elite Commando mask" or a single item that gives you the suit. I enjoy that the Elite Commando drops are in pieces that can be mixed and matched. And the fact that you only need three to six people to kill the spawn means that this is probably the best content they've added in a long time.
Area K Jacket = Best ever. Elite Commando gear = Very nice addition. Patcher's Headgear = not worth the effort for me. Ability Pills = Not sure yet; haven't seen them. Data Mining Spawn = Makes Data Miner fun. Overdrive Bandana & Quicksilver Gloves = Great items.
I would love more Box-type missions that offer quest-chains and special spawns for groups.
Of course the buffs on the new Elite Commando gear only means we'll see more knifers and riflemen about. I'm hoping that at some point some new gear based around Hackers or Martial Artists will surface, offering content that will reward other loadouts with something useful. I think it would be great if the Merovingian (or Persephone) gave Beirn his own construct where we could do battle with a level 60 or 70 Beirn.
What I like is the goggles and other pieces of the new content is unique - different from the same old stuff. Black bandanas are getting kinda' old after a few years, imo.

Haha, you're joking, right? XD
Anyways, although these are nice items, we now have even more ballistic clothing. Heck I finally want special MA clothing, and some hacker clothing too FFS
Did I say 'lol' at the end of that statement? Yes, the Area K jacket is currently the best coat for a Gunman in PVP. It's also very useful against Gunmen as well as Hackers, even if you're not a Gunman yourself.

Not every gunman LO works best with Area Ks, it doesn't provide protection for close encounters against the nemesis class (spy) or MA. I at all times prefer wearing other ballistic outerwears, even in duels.
That's subjective.

It is a bit disappointing that the suit includes the headgear, again this will lead to a lot of indistinguishable rsi's - headgear in general in MxO needs a serious review the definability of your rsi is a cool feature that is too easily lost under an all obscuring mask Don't worry. My green locks will remain flowing while I shoot you.
