Darkness fell across the crisp night sky like freshly spilled ink, drowning out the fleeting sun. The streetlamps hummed with energy almost on cue, bathing the cobbled road in ochre light.
Footsteps. Faint at first yet growing dangerously more prominent, pounding the pavement with unwavering rhythm. Rain began to fall as if the heavens themselves were crying at the sight of him.
From the shadows he made his way into the open street, the raindrops bouncing up off the concrete below and crashing back down onto the tops of his heavy leather boots, unblemished, pristine.
She had called to him. As her world fell apart once more, as her heart lay shattered in light of endless torment, he felt her soul cry out, to the one man who had always known her better than she knew herself.
So many wrongs to put right, his mind had wandered so far from the path, over the brink… yet his faith remained untarnished…
Machiavellian in his virtues he had escaped this insanity once before, and now the very mind which struggled free from the bondage of madness had led him back to the world he vowed never to enter again… this world…
The players have changed, yet the game remains the same as ever. The same ego’s… the same treachery… the same bureaucracy… it stung his senses with every breath he took.
Those week of mind and will had changed allegiances with as much ease as the sun sets, new contenders grasped for a seat of power that existed nowhere but in their own minds. Such fools… leave them be.
Long gone were the days in which such neanderthalism clouded his judgement. Long gone were the days in which the drive to prove his worth was an albatross on his soul. Long gone were the days of gesticulating, of mindless violence and needless conflict, of pride, of anger, of hatred, vanity and a lust for power…
Now… there was her. Only her.
And the cause.
There will always be the cause.

(I think the above post was supposed to be a PM regarding a different event - however our site, which is currently under reconstruction, is http://www.siradio.fm)
In the build up to our Xmas Tour, we have had the honour of teaming up with factions from each server we'll be visiting - so a huge thanks to The Glitch Society (Syntax); Fallen Horizon (Recursion) and Children of Zion (Vector) for their support - and we look forward to working with you all soon to help everyone out there party Split Infinity style!
Dates and venues to be announced within the next few days

At long long last, we can finally confirm each stop of the Split Infinity Xmas Tourbus!
We cannot tell you how excited we are to come and party with all three servers for the first time, and with the support of our fantastic co-hosts, each and every party promises to be a big one.
So - throw that Xmas list away and hop off Santa's knee, because all you need to celebrate Xmas in style is right here - and not a cheesy Xmas carol in sight.
See you all there!

Amusing, isn't it?
How fickle and churlish the imputent minds which occupy this reality truely are...
These followers of the Antichrist, with their misplaced faith in their fallen saviour's quest for what he called freedom. Freedom into to bondage of a cold, unforgiving and conflicted society. A society in turmoil as they claw and scratch their way into nothingness - clambouring for a grasp on power, the lies flowing effortlessly off their wicked tongues, soothing their consciences against the travesties they have commited.
The Awakened.
Ironic, perhaps, that they are more blinded to the truth than any among us. Our Eden, our sanctuary, our hope - that was how it was intended, that is how it shall be. Once more into the peaceful sleep.
E Pluribus Neo. Mindless sheep to a child. Nothing more than a boy, swept away from his brush with a man whom he blindly idolised, a man who spared him no second thought, no second glance - yet he so foolishly has convinced himself and the weak minded imbeciles who surround him that he carries the faux-saviours mission. Such children should not interject themselves into the affairs of men.
And what of the turncoats? Watch how they scurry back in the wake of recent events. Watch as they paint themselves blue with their words, the blood of our comrades still fresh on their hands - and yet they speak of the Cause.
The Masked Agenda, reborn. 'Tis the season to rise from the grave it seems... yet what motives lie behind this predictable turn of events? Old scores? Old loves? Or perhaps blue is in fashion this season. Such fickle alliances by fickle men are never meant to last. The Agenda was put to rest with reason, and for that very reason it will no doubt dwindle again.
As for its figurehead? The public face of this reignited path? So lost without purpose, so blind to the fact that while sitting at the head of the Agenda's table, in days gone by he was never its driving force. Some strings are easier to pull than others.
The Blue Order. One true path, one true cause. I stand alongside them proud to have found those with the pure and noble intentions of true Cypherites, those who deserve to wear their masks with pride.
Where do we go from here?
Only time will tell.Message Edited by kingcaw on 03-23-200612:11 PM

Depends on what you play it for - I wouldn't be so quick as to write it off, especially for new players. Its easy to forget that features etc we have grown so accustomed to seeing every day can still have some appeal to people just starting out in the game.
I switched to SWG, which I was using as my "secondary" MMO, however now mxo is my secondary game, I play it simply to fill the RP void that isn't filled by SWG, and for those purposes it works well.

I'm with Wraith on this one - whether we like/liked RFZ/AWR/MMO as a station, there is no denying that they are the reason stations such as Split Infinity, Radio Megacity, Exile Radio and Radio Athena exist today - if anything, they gave us all something that we wanted to beat, to improve upon, and that can only be a good thing for the community.

Faction-chat feeling a little empty? Needing an influx of new recruits? Well, never fear, Split Infinity Radio is here!!
Over the next two weeks, we are giving all factions across all servers the opportunity to have themselves advertised across the airwaves of Split Infinity Radio.
If you can provide your own audio sample, then fantastic! We'll put you on air right away! If not, then don't worry, simply send us a basic transcript or premis for your advert and we'll throw something together for you!
To tune into Split Infinity Radio, between 6pm-3am GMT each and every day of the week, simply type:

Ok, this may be a very stupid question, but here goes...
I have just signed up for an All Access account, as I have just purchased SWG and want to keep playing both that and MxO...
When installing SWG, I was asked to intput my station account details. On doing so, I was told that my subscriptions did not include SWG. After inputting my CD key, I received a message saying it had now been added - my card details did not have to be taken a 3rd time (already input for MxO and then again for All Access)
Now, on my subscriptions summary, SWG and Station Access are shown seperately.
I just wanted to check that this does not mean 2 seperate amounts are going to be billed.
Also... as MxO is still not showing anywhere on the Station website, will what I have already paid for it be refunded and then the sub for MxO be covered by my Station Access payments?
If i'm honest I found the whole billing process to be very poorly laid out, as I was directed backwards a forwards for a while before having to actually use my MxO launcher to access the correct page - so now naturally I am concerned that I will be charged seperately for MxO, SWG and Station Access.
Any help would be appreciated...

(( I'll try my best to be there - although I know i'm not exactly a main player in the RP-scene, and am probably not even a blip on many people's radars, I would still definately like to attend something which I hope will be a constructive and positive first step in rebuilding the apparently broken down community.
I can fully respect the decisions of those who have pulled out of association with the Espi-related storylines - I do not know enough of each individual out-of-character to disperse any judgement in either direction - however the beauty of Roleplay is that it belongs to each and every one of us. No-one controls your character, no-one controls your level of participation - however the reason that the Linenoise RP community garnered such a positive reputation prior to the merge was the seamless way in which the community seemed to band together. I am saddened more by the breakdown of a community than the disruption of roleplay.
I definately hope that this meeting helps - and hope that everyone can approach it with an open-mind. One thing I am mainly concerned with is that there will no doubt be a split - I do not want all opportunities to roleplay with the likes of Zealot, Chesire and Dare to be severed simply because I am associated with someone who's writing style clashes with their own. I have no problem with the level of violence and the twisted nature of the storylines focused on - simply because I have a high threshold for that sort of thing, imparted by a wide-variety of film and literary works which stretch beyond the deeds despicted as of late.
However, the last thing I want is to be typecast and "black-balled" simply because my character follows Espi's command - I would hope that sort of ignorance is not rife within the community. If it is, then I fear the RP community will not recover.))

My roleplaying experience outside of MxO amounts to absolutely Zero. Before this game, I only ever played console games - never really had an interest in any of those table-top games etc, so never really was in a situation where RP would ever cross my mind.
I did, however, spend a few years as a columnist for numerous websites - throwing together commentaries, reviews and discussions for everything from movies to games to books.
In addition I also dabbled quite heavily with poetry between the age of 15-17, and managed to get published in three seperate anthologies.
Otherwise, actual RPing never came into fray until the server merge was announced, and like many from Output/Proxy, I started digging around the Linenoise forums, trying to pick up on the storylines and plan how I would enter them.

Patch 7.938
Sister Margaret has been fired for soliciting, and will be replaced by Rev. Feelgood
The Mara Central hardline now comes equipped with Hacker Bases, from which they can attack freely but cannot be attacked themselves.
The timer for Stun 1.0 is now the equivalent of your total playing duration multiplied by the number of times you have harrassed us with pointless petitions.
New Mission content focuses around beating the Downtown Lag - longest response to input time wins the whole game and unlocks Neo and Agent Smith as playable characters.
All non-beta players have now been granted Hyperjump Beta.
You will now actually lose your connection if you jump into that area.
The story progresses with Cinematic Chapter 4.2: The Oracle Has A Nice Cup Of Tea And A Jam Scone
We will henchforth deny any knowledge of the existence of Neurophyte and the continuity errors caused by the server merge, instead replacing her with everyones favourite rogue alien, Mork From Ork, who's mischeivious adventures will be guaranteed to deliver hillarity time and time again.
All Nightclubs have been changed to Cantina's.
We have taken the first steps to implement a new and dynamic feature in which Exile raids will be coupled with our usual contact mission format, climaxing with endless NPC spawn waves, with the hope that this will mask us being too drunk on this huge party we had last weekend to put together anything half decent. But seriously guys, it was a great party, man I was so wasted...
To combat our current lack of content, we have now increased the level cap to 762.
The next patch will be due in exactly 37 months and 2 days, which should give you enough time to grind to the level cap again, and will hopefully stop you bitching on the forums. Good Luck Losers!

-One Pvp
The only major issue I ever heard about regarding pvp on this server was the activities of the 4 Horsemen. Since it appears that they are no more, then the complaining about pvp seems to have died off - although you'd have to speak to people who still pvp regularly.
-Two The Cypherites ((primarily the fighting between Espi((and co)) and Fygment(( and co)) both Ic and OOC which needs to stop))
I agree, it needs to stop, i'm bored to tears of having these issues become the focal point of the RP community, and i'm sure many feel the same, including the main parties involved in this 'conflict'. However there are still some people who insist on dragging it out into the public arena of their own behest, without any apparent prompting by the main individuals it concerns.
The issues are becoming very old, very fast. There will never be any reconsiliation over it, bridges have been burnt, lessons learned - so lets move on, finally.
-Three the OOC feelings between people coloring and hurting the IC
((Which created the whole RP meeting a few weeks ago))
Personally i've never experienced any RP involving myself that has been negatively tainted by OOC issues or problems. Initially I was concerned that everyone involved in "The Masked Agenda" faction were being tarred with the same brush as the members embroiled in certain OOC disputes, however i'm more at ease now that people can see my membership of that particular guild as being a character decision, which fits my storyline and the story of those who I am attempted to aid with their RP.
I have no problem with Dare or Fygment. Neither have said or done anything to me OOC to cause any negative feelings, and as far as I am aware, I have done nothing to either of them to instill negativity either. Likewise, I have no problem with the "other side" of issues... not one single member of "The Masked Agenda" has demonstrated to me any of the slights of character they have been accused of. I will not choose sides in this from a personal OOC perspective - even if my RP character appears to do so.
Also, despite some members of the community wanting to distance themselves from the violent nature of particular RP threads and directions - it is a measure of our community that I have not been treat as a leper by those people, some of whom have spoken to me OOC to tell me that they are still happy to RP with me, some who have demonstrated that same open-mindedness IC.
-LET and creating solid player events that can advance the sytntax storyline and I am not talking like the "bread maker " events im am saying a serious group of events that creates a soly syntax based story....... a real story.....that will keep playeres here while the devs are making the let big storyline
I think now is a very exciting time when looking at the potential of Player Events. The Winter Brood event was a fantastic success, and I look forward to being able to have activae participation in any future events they may hold.
There is a player event currently building up amongst the "Masked Agenda" and the "Soldiers of Unreality" which promises to be a strong one.
We also have the SPLET (Syntax Player Live Event Team) looking to make a strong comeback.
On top of that, I have one or two things up my sleeve that, if I have time, I'll be looking to turn into events that are open to people right across the spectrum.
I don't feel we need a have a universal storyline, created by players, for the Syntax server... that sort of limitation flies in the face of what RP is about, which is its wonderful flexibility and adapatability - however we have some extremely talented and gifted creative minds within our community - I look forward to seeing those applied more towards PE's in the coming weeks and months.

The dank rain streamed down his forehead as he rubbed his weary eyes with a deflated sigh. Directly behind him amidst the shadows, a nameless figure spoke seemingly to himself, recounting the events of late.
As he absorbed the news he stared forward at the twinkling river before him, the brisk wind breaking through his long padded jacket, sending chills down his spine.
The voice behind him had long since faded as his memories turned to what once was, almost a lifetime ago.
As he raised his right hand the distant moonlight accentuated the deep scars across his knuckles, a gift from the real world that he chose to bear in this one to remind him of how far he had come, and how hard he had fought.
With a quick flick of the wrist he signalled the messenger away to leave him with his thoughts.
He slumped forwards only slightly as he drew a long, weary breath, before speaking to himself in a voice that had not met conversation for endless months now.
"Oh Aiya, Aiya, Aiya... Sweet, Dear Aiya... look at how lost you have become... look at what this world has turned you into..."
He flicked his barely lit cigarette that had burned down to its filter down to his side as he turned to walk away, back to his solitude, a final phrase escaping his lips...

After a massive amount of deliberation, I am going to be leaving MxO indefinately.
The game just doesn't hold the same appeal for me as it used to, as i'm sure a lot of you will agree. I do still see huge potential, but right now, it feels almost a chore to jack-in to the Matrix, only to be sat warming a bench somewhere, staring at a static screen.
I'm usually one of the first people who will say that the game is as fun as you make it - however right now, I have done all I can to enjoy the game, from organising Player Events, to DJing for Split Infinity, to Roleplaying.
No doubt I will still keep my eyes on these forums, and will more likely continue writing stories in the Next Renaissance section... and i'm sure I will show my head for the occasional 30minute session every time we get new criticals or new Live Events, but for all intents and purposes, i'm done.
I'll be in-game occasionally over the next few days as I finish off my current RP story, however after that, i'll be focusing my attentions to other things.
To the old Output community, thank you for making the bulk of my playing time enjoyable. To people like Euphraxia, Kanjo, Revolt, P0ET, Phunkyfella, aMUSiK, Jamicus... to the listeners of Split Infinity and all of my fellow DJ's, to our party regulars, Shadow, Kisani, Asagi and Sazcha - god rest her soul - a huge huge thank you only exceeded by my apologies to anyone I forgot...
To the RP community, who gave me a reason not to leave following the server merge, who have unleashed my creative juices and enriched my playing experience over the last month or so; Aiyalla, Espi, Zealot, Fygment, Dare, Gami, Cheshire, Jobi, Sykin, Gnev and many many more - keep doing what you all do best, and I hope the issues amongst the community are laid to rest sooner rather than later. There is far too much potential going to waste right now.
For my character, the door remains open, as anyone interested in my stories will see once they are finished - however for me, the chapter is closing.
Thank you all once again,
Miky/KingCAW

Expanding on an earlier post in which the machines connection to the creators was a contributing factor, I've always thought along the lines that machines are as capable of emotive judgement and behaviour as humans are - after all, for them to become sentient would require them to develop a mind, one which it is possible to assume is able to form basic emotions.
I believe that their 'emotions' were very primative and even infantile prior to them conducting further study of the human brain - similair to the bond a child has with its mother. From that, I feel that a large factor in 'enslaving' humans was merely the fact that they wanted to preserve humanity in as logical a fashion as they were able.
Given that their intellects are beyond out comprehension - it isn't far-fetched to assume that they could devise a much simpler and more efficient way of creating energy other than to harvest it from neuro-kinetics, and that fact that they choose to do the latter could be taken to support their desire to sustain the race who created them.
Another factor which could support this, is the fact that, initially, the machines attempted to present us with a Utopic world, a paradise of our own. There are far more negative emotions than there are positive ones, and therefore the logical step, if all they wanted was to farm us for energy, would be to present us with a world full of pain, misery and torment.
Considering that, as someone else mentioned, we had already scorched the sky, and demonstrated the insane lengths we would go to in order to maintain our position as the dominant species, it would only be a matter of time before we caused our own extinction for no other reason that foolish pride. The machines prevented that - and are probably the only reason humanity still exists within the world of the Matrix.
Or perhaps, as someone else mentioned, its because the movies would suck with Cowanu Reeves in the title role :smileyvery-happy:

Detrius, that last part of your post opens another cans of worms - something which I also enjoy discussion about. If the humans actually won the war - would they want to destroy each and every sentient machine? If they were looking to keep the machines active yet harmless, in order to conduct further research on them, then fooling the machine mind into processing such a complex scenario as the one the Matrix presents would be enough to keep them dosile.
