May as well call it that, I couldn't find a name. So out of El Conquistador, Red Bear or Brown Star (on the drumkit) I'd prefer El Conquistador as the clubs name.

So basically, scrap the existing engine/game code (Basically everything that is MxO) and create a GTA clone MMO from the ground up? You expect SOE to do this? Also owning property in the Matrix is a strange idea explainable for exiles, but for humans?

It maybe just me (It usually is) but when in ranged shoot-outs and you activate a move, say disarming shot (I'm still fairly low level) the animation begins as soon as the yellow timer begins and its usually finished before halfway. So you're left standing there firing off normal shots and if you get hit there's a possibility of being interrupted, AFTER you've already completed the move. Shouldn't the move begin near the end of the timer thingy? Is this the same as everyone else or is it just me? realise it's only a minor point, but when your watching the fight and working out the best next move it gets annoying!

Now my main character is a female and is in a rather respectable faction with a top notch dress code. When missioning, however, I wear what I need to survive, which could mean wearing a dress or skirt. Now when you start the hyperjump I know you can 't have a lot of dignity you need to go through certain actions, but when you're on the way down, is it really necessary for women to have their legs open? Why do they need to float down with their legs akimbo? Any self respecting woman would at least have their legs closed until about to land! Also i'd like to see me land like trinity when blowing up the security office with a motorcycle!! Comments, questions welcome!

Then again, in beta, we had one, and I'm still satisfied with the flip Well I had originally said keep 'em shut until just about to land, but I understand what you're saying! If you had more animations in beta, it sholuld't be too much hassle to de-bug the animations, if necessary, and re-introduce them.... I personally like the twisty version but would like to see more variety!

Does anyone else have the problem of some tagged hardlines not appearing on the Atlas? I run most of my missions in Westview, I know I've tagged them all as they are still listed in my hardline directory, the icon for hardlines only shows up for a few and is absent for all of the others. Is this a known problem? Do I need to re-download any files? I've tried the full file check at the login prompt but it says everything is ok. Thanks

The scratch/rub head animation is a little cartoonie and you would get used to it after a few times. I think a short , quick recoil animation would settle the problem. I dont think, however, that changing the animation is that high up on the Dev's change list so I don't see anything happening anytime soon (I'd love to be wrong). I am fairly new so didn't know about the jump-back move, but do now, although I don't think it should be allowed if it's being used to a players advantage.

I often use the atlas to find out the closest HL to a mission, usually because I miss my op's suggestion of HL due to me reading the mission details. Sometimes there would be a hardline closer to the mission area than one which I see on the atlas, so I get annoyed when running or HJing through an area, getting shot at by everyone and their dogs and see a HL right next to the door i'm trying to get to!

I think that if pregnant in the real, the womans RSI would, except in the case of some exceptionally disciplined women, reflect the body's changes. Their mind would change their RSI. I understand the point above that the foetus wouldn't have it's own mind but it is the RSI of the woman not the baby creating it. If for some reason the redpill were to give birth while still jacked in then just before or during labour the simulation would want to change the reference of the child RSI to the childs pod which is obviously impossible. The result would be a stillborn child inside the simulation (as it has no point of reference for instinct and mind) but outside it could be alive and hopefully, as healthy as anything. I've always thought that when, as a young child, you start to gain awareness of yourself and your surroundings and memories start, that is when the childs jack starts performing as it should, until then the RSI of the child is just funtioning on instinct from the childs brain. I agree with the point that if two redpills were going at it inside the simulation, then no pregnancy can occur as there would be no real physical exchange of fluids. Probably the ultimate form of safe sex... as long as they aren't flagged!

One other question comes to mind and I am sure it was asked before but wouldn't there be some directive against having a pregnate woman running around in the Matrix doing missions? Regardless of org loyalties I don't think any Captain is gonna allow a pregnate woman to put herself in that much danger. I know this is splitting hairs but I was curious about how that is handled (rp wise).
I guess that would be up to the type of persons that both the woman and the captain are (the woman could be the captain) Naturally most Orgs would have rules set down about this but when it comes to the crunch they may decide that her presence is vital to mission success... As long as the woman's mind doesn't think that there has been some trauma to her body, the real baby should be unaffected. If her mind says that she's been shot in the stomach.. there is a real danger to the child. Recon missions and non-combat missions would be fine I would say.

The real child wouldn't be jacked in so wouldn't need the benefit of an EJP, however... the issue of the woman's body reacting under the physical stresses that happen under an EJP situation, may very well be damaging to the real child. Hence the reason why any reasonable Captain, Faction, Organisation would have, or would make, rules for the situation probably restricting missions and activities to non-potentially hostile situations or just prohibiting access completely.

Thought about this today. I understand the fact that there are more important things to get put in game first, and also the fact that they'd need to motion capture it, but its just a suggestion I want to throw out there... We already have the /danceX emote for individual dancing, thats cool, but I'd like to see an interactive dance emote for two people. You could have a normal 2 person generic dance (I'm not suggesting any type of style) a /slowdance for then end of the night... and possibly /dirtydance....?

You know i think i just answered my own question, i could see the Machines allowing the birth of a handicapped person even though it wouldn't be optimal because it would just add to the illusion of reality. If everyone was walking around in perfect health, no deficiencies people would start to notice that. probably one of the things that happened with the first Matrix.
True... but would a person whose mind or RSI are handicapped in some way have the same handicap in their physical body? I guess that's a topic for a whole other discussion (and one that's close to my mind and heart since I'm disabled myself), but I imagine that the Machines would use only the "best" humans or at least the ones with the fewest flaw as batteries, then edit some disability or quirk into their RSI to keep things from being too perfect for them.
I thought of this a while back and you answered in along the same lines as I did.

You make a good point, but I don't see the Machines not perfecting a technique which would allow for large flaws to be prevented. After all they have had years to grow the Babies and learn. Certainly weighing it up, minor flaws would present negligible effects upon the system of pods and the welfare of the system and it would be a waste of resources to simply get rid of the child. However if the handicap of the Child had to potential to severely limit the functions in the pods the the extra cost of sustaining that child through its life may cost more than simply starting over.

Do agents spawn whilst you are on a mission for the machines in an area that you haven't made safe? Seems silly that they should hunt you down if you're working for them. Mind you I know that'd give all machinists out there a bit of an advantage and would probably unbalance the game! While I agree that Agents need more of a role, I don't think the area they spawn in should dictate their level, it should be the level of the person they are chasing that should dictate their level. A higher level certainly but not one that can kill you instantly, so you can put up a small fight, but you should be able to run from them, but not escape, easily. They should chase you down indefinitely, well until you reach a safe area. So when you upgrade, they upgrade. Perhaps, as well as guarding restricted areas they should turn up if someone demonstrates any matrix powers in front of bluepills walking the streets....

You left because you are perma flagged at level 16?? I'm sorry but thats bull if you're flagged and are going to get killed in 1 hit then generally you should have the good sense to keep your evade up and make sure there isn't a red around.
How exactly, when jacking in initially, do you make sure there isn't a red around in firing or attacking distance? Also how can you get your evade shield up when you need to be in the simulation first?
Does that mean then that you have people camped out at HL's waiting for low levels to jack in and kill them before they've had the chance to apply their low end buffs and even evade shield? Hell... it's a wonder anyone uses HL's there at all....
/jackout is your friend I guess....

People don't "Camp" generally unless you're heading to a PvP hot zone where there are some people continuously clicking the "nearest enemy" hotkey and waiting for a punt but generally it's not worth the time.
Finally as a level 26 on Syntax I've been killed more times than Solid due to accidental flaggings or running through one of those PvP area's and not noticing the flag came on.
Don't patronize me. Not all of us have a nice speedy connection and quick loading computer. It usually take me about 3 seconds to even be able to move let alone activate any abs when jacking in or moving to another HL. Easily enough time for someone to target someone, root them and get them into IL before the code dissipates.
I am aware that there are a few HL's which can be used by a lvl 16 in Richland that aren't near any gangs that are around your level, and that the population of the server isn't as high as Recursion or Syntax so the possibility of there being a 50 standing there when you coalesce isn't high. I have a low level alt on Vector so I know what it's like to play there...
I just don't like the snotty attitude of people who belittle others who don't play there and who have their reasons for not doing so, reasons that people have no right to judge them for.

That's where you have presence of mind and common courtesy not to 'goof off' in the first place. People can still see his OP while he/she is editing it. Generally 'goofing off' is just a plea for attention, but SoE has it right here, a plea for attention should not spoil peoples enjoyment of something. I've not read the books, I don't plan to, I just watch the films when they come out, but I can understand someone's frustration when they are waiting to see something and someone decides to let the cat out of the bag thus spoiling what ever the person wants to see/read. SoE and Jury have not stopped people talking about it, that's why they have two threads, one for spoilers, for those who want to know, and one for no spoilers. If you wanna 'goof off' do it in the spoilers thread.
