We were always under the impression that if you had a strong enough belief in Neo and what he was trying to do for Peace, you were EPN.

Now there is an . . . application process?

Hmm. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I think of the Kid's followers as those who were going to follow Morpheus anyways. There's a number of Redpills, such as Morpheus, who were declared enemies of Zion because of the fact that they jeopardized peace with their avid code-bombing routines. Any E Pluribus Neo who is not aware of this is surely driven by ulterior motives and using their affiliation as a temporary vessel for violence against the Machines (and bluepills) or misguided by their choice in organization.

Michael has ridden the coat-tails of his savior for a long time. I find his Redpill handle to be fitting of his immature characteristics. Leadership skills? Pfft.

(( Morpheus continued to fight the Machines despite all that Neo accomplished. He had a prejudice for them that would not end. He constantly found reasons to keep fighting. It's funny that the General created a simulacrum for Morpheus. I find that they have a lot in common, being soldiers without a war. Now we have war once again, though. I expect that we must not blame all of Zion for it, though. Kid was going down that route anyhow. ))

Actually, the tool slot code launcher was specific to Vector, Recursion got some sort of hacker glasses, Syntax got something, but no one on Syntax never knows what it was.  Those items came at the end of a event, just can't remember which event it was, I think it was before the SOE days.  But I do know the tool slot launcher was specific to Vector, cause it took a Vectorite giving me a copy on the test server to know what it was.  Anyway, carry on, nothing else to see here.

Feedback Forums Player Versus Player Feedback Jumping to avoid interlock an exploit in constructs? Re:Jumping to avoid interlock an exploit in constructs? Zerotolerance 0 01/22/2007 12:35

I feel that if used sparingly against more than one enemy, the jump to avoid interlock tactic is one that should not be removed from the game. Personally, I feel that many people use it far too often and then it becomes an exploit. Bottomline, if it can be exploited then people are going to use it for that advantage. I'm indifferent, but oh well.

On the downside, I've been interlocked from mid-air and rendered unable to use anything in my hotbar aside from evade or switch tactics. So jumping and hyperjumping have their disadvantages.

Same thing with MA's loading some of the Patcher tree to buff themselves. Destroy health, destroy resolve.

As well don't forget that all the downgrades a hacker can hit you with are influenced by the hacker's bonuses. So destroy health, for example can be quite devastating to the max health and health regen rate of the target if the attacker's Vitality is maxed for a 50% bonus. IS regen rate bonus also affects destroy resolve.

Hacker downgrades and patcher buffs are all affected by their own stat influence bonuses. I always thought this was pretty much OK for it to work that way but not intuitive and therefore misleading to the new player who might think all the vitality bonuses should benefit them all them time and therefore assume they don't work.

Specifically, there's other things tied to how you flag that are far too integrated to be altered. Such as missioning, reputation, etc.

Currently, the CYPH tag falls under Machines for missions and reputation. EPN falls under Zion. Changing it so that EPN or CYPH flags to their parent orgs would mean that they're no longer in those parent orgs -- as the game wouldn't make sense of it. Now you need two more Org Controllers -- Shimada and Veil -- and you'd also need new mission contracts for each chapter. So instead of an update every 1.5 months or so, it'd be every 3 months. I don't want four updates in a year.

Vector - Hostile Next Renaissance - Vector The Real. - W4rbl4de The Real. - W4rbl4de Zerotolerance 0 08/24/2007 16:16
My feud with certain individuals has sat at a standstill. Time spent outside of the simulation has allowed me time to reflect without the impediment of code running through virtual veins.

Merovingian Operatives move about their practices with pirated ships and signals broadcasting their residual self-images across the great digital, wireless world that exists all around us. In the continuum of the Matrix, we are nothing but code. Our selves are preserved through procedures such as the emergency jackout protocols invoked since the time of the Truce. Our lives are guaranteed to continue within the simulation providing the unexpected is kept at bay. Our ships, barges, and strongholds exist within the Real for the sake of our survival as flesh. Our enemies are elusive in their ways; ensuring their own survival in the Real by burrowing deep into the Earth, emerging for brief and sometimes long broadcasts of illegal contraband signals into the System. Hacking their way into a System that allows for far too many loopholes, I find that those who serve the Machines - like myself - are the last defense against the unpredictable menace of humanity.

To fight fire with fire, that is the reason why we are allowed to exist and serve the Machines...

When your existence is threatened, however, you are oftentimes left to stumble across greater truths and realizations. Interference from the subway station in Creston Heights made her attack that much harder for me. I found myself clutching on to life as I might have done were my Hovercraft attacked by violent pirates and mercenaries in the Real. Being one of the smaller crews attached to the Ronin network, I've considered the possibility of physical, permanent retaliation far too many times to count. The thought of it leaves me clutching my throat in anticipation of my lifeline being severed by the enemy - something that I cannot afford.

I have my crew and Krytical to thank for conducting a detailed scan of archival data and code signature left behind in the wake of the attack. Merovingian operatives knew that I was a thorn in their side and for that reason I was the mark of an assassin I've encountered before. Admittedly, I am still not quite right after reliving that fateful moment repeatedly during what can only be described as a comatose state. I nearly died. Were Sable still around, he might have commented: Unacceptable. Too many soldiers have fallen at the Front Lines and now, with the Truce depleted, I will be forced to Jack In and contribute to the suppression of infestations such as Zion, E Pluribus Neo, and most importantly mercenaries serving the Merovingian. My other choice is obviously remaining in Zero One, where steel and silicon maintains an uneasy ceasefire with my fragile flesh and blood.

My conscience always gets the best of me. Not only do I feel as though such a decision to remain on the outside would lead to me outliving my own usefulness but it will also do no good to preserve the System that we must maintain - the System that provides an escape from this wrecked world of fallen monoliths and pyrrhic empires. Could this really be the existence that Zion fights for? Freedom amongst ashes and ruin? They can have it all. It is not worth it to release a coppertop from their blissful existence when the truth is an atrocity to the eyes and the heart. Zion, in their complete and utter denial, work laboriously to kill a System that is their only escape from the eye-sore that is our world.

And I will defend my world, where the Machines provided us an escape from our own hubris. Their deification of war has lead them down a path where not even Neo can protect them. They've abandoned everything that our hero gave us, twisting and distorting the messiah's intentions like humans always do. Don't ask for peace now. Peace is gone.

Look at your wasteland and realize that for each and every bluepill you wake from slumber, you have given them nothing and taken from them everything.

Signature Gear = Items found on Signature Characters (Live Event Characters).

As end-game content perhaps instead of temporarily being made to look like Cryptos or Ookami, we can be granted items appropriately made famous by these individuals? Level 50 clothing items with insane buffs that are perhaps very difficult to get (PB4 difficult?). Perhaps even hand out these items as rewards during Live Events?

It'd just be nice to have the pendant on Cryptos' neck as a Tool Slot item with some sort of benefit for Cypherites. Area Stun? Have it operate off of Viral Accuracy, still.

Perhaps the Twins' glasses for Merv operatives that allows for a 15 second movement speed buff and incorporeal form? Give it a cooldown timer of 300 secs.

I'm thinking items with decent buffs and perhaps an ability tied into them, similar to the Tiger Master's Gi and its reflexive toughness boost.

I love the Area K Trench.

The Signature Gear I mentioned doesn't have to be Live Event characters' gear. It could be new level 50 items. Perhaps even some Area K gloves, boots, etc. The bottom-line is I'd like even more rare items for level 50's. Now, the Area K isn't exactly rare anymore but it still has a nice pricetag attached to it and if you want one, you need to do a bit of farming in Zero One.

Our Archive rewards all have nice little effects to them, but nothing beneficial to us in PVP or PVE beyond looking cool while we're killing stuff. The idea behind this is to suggest new items that not only have buffs but also have a special affect to them as I listed above. Something that might not be as easy to attain as Seraphim Shoes or the Area K, but something with an added benefit. Maybe not even unique to a Live Event character like in my Cryptos' Pendant suggestion above, but something with a similar affect.

Well thats what i meant by if they were to do a Pbox 5-8 arc. Make the loot insanely hard to get from Box 8.

I'd settle for two more boxes or hell, even one additional box will do.

  noctivagus wrote:

The Vampire coat has a melee damage bonus, I forget what percentage it is.

There are a few players on Vector who make great use of the Direwolf coat still.  Once you wear it with buffs, your health can shoot up to 3,850.  The downside is obviously the lack of resistance, especially when there's no one around to give you those buffs.  Even with the loss of damage resistance, it's still more difficult to take someone with that much HP down in a hurry.  If you have a 'Vitality-based' health regen build then it's worth considering as an alternative to the Area K.  It all depends on the situation.

To answer the OP's question, you'd have to test the affects of both 350 HP and an additional 32/36 resistance.  Personally I'd go with the resistance because more HP leaves you open to taking on more damage, thus nullifying the coat to some extent.

A Vitality-based health regen build would benefit from the Area K a lot more as it has a Health Regen influence on it as opposed to a health-amount increase. Also, regen is safer from a Buffer Canceling ability like Cancel Upgrade. Remember, all that extra health is gone if your buff is removed. Regen is only affected by... a few less-used abilities in the hacker tree. >.>

Finding your target isn't always as easy as a simple macro to point yourself off in the direction of the enemy. It usually requires a threshold of patience and plenty of time. In certain scenarios it requires that you track down another target first so that you can milk them of the information you seek. Sometimes you wait in one spot for a very long time with no results.

But sometimes it pays off.

"I've been waiting for you," I tell the Exile, "I need you to show me the right direction."

"What?" He looked at me puzzled. He wasn't quite certain that I work for the Machines, but I'm sure he suspected.

"No, no, no. Not what. Who. I'm looking for a Redpill." I offered a smirk.

"Go look in a mirror."

"Original." I smirked wider. "I'm looking for Tytanya."

"Get in the elevator. Lead the way." He made a gesture and I stepped by him, the stench of hostility in his code aura.

You don't exactly recognize the sound of a shotgun coming out from beneath someone's coat, but in my line of work you learn early on to familiarize yourself with the safety lever being depressed. He already had a shell in the chamber as I didn't hear the distinctive click-chk of the firearm... I might have waited for it to be certain, but that wasn't a chance I was about to take. You end up dead that way.

Dodging shotgun bursts wasn't as easy as weaving through scattered bullets. Especially at a point-blank range. I had to remain close enough to avoid the expanding walls of murder and at the same time avoid being directly in front of the barrel. At this proximity, one failed bob of the head or one stupid error in judgment concerning the position of my hands would turn me into virtual hamburger.

"Go find your answers elsewhere, toaster!" He sneered as he turned to run.

I thought I was leading the way?

A jumper. I hate aerial combat within the simulation. It never ends well.

I could see the Matrix coming apart at the seems, bleeding through into a visible spectacle of bent light, distorted color, and visible sound.

"Escape is impossible," I try my best to fill an agent's shoes. He doesn't listen. He obviously knows the difference. Judging from his poor execution skills with a shotgun he's a fugilist by nature. I had to prepare myself for such a case.

"Operator," I speak into the cell, "I'm going to catch this guy, but I need some reinforced gear. Operator?"

"I'm here," Outlash acknowledged.

"You're relentless, toaster. You want to catch me?

Fine."

"..."

"Now you're listening to reason, code-trash." I grinned.

But that grin was fleeting.

He was fast.

A blur.

I was left with little time, but I was easily reminded of where his skills were lacking. I move out of the way where it counts. Despite his existence as a renegade program he was no Insertion, Tytanya, or Krytical.

"Give up." I insist.

"You're going to tell me..."

"...what I need to know."

"Y-You... *CENSORED*... t-toaster." He slumped to the floor of the catwalk. He was out of juice. Through it all I had yet to go on the offensive and he made the wise decision - he realized that if I wanted to kill him, he could not fight back at this point. Me? I hadn't even broken a digital sweat. I was more than prepared to delete him if he didn't tell me what I wanted to hear.

"Talk."

"You don't want me, toaster. Y-You want Ingus."

"Excuse me?"

"Ingus. He has the connections. If you're looking for a contraband signal, he's the one that will find it for you. He knows them all. Xeros. Ikkaku. Tytanya. He knows them all. H-He... He knows them all."

It wasn't what I wanted to hear. It didn't matter, though. He was too scared to lie to me at this point. In times such as these, with war on every edge of the Front Lines, sometimes you have to show a bit of compassion to your adversary. As I checked my Bedlams I'm sure he let loose a glob of brown code all over his Merovingian underpants.

"Get out of here. And mind the gun laws in Mega City, will you?"

So now I have a new target in a series of targets... I need to find the Fallen Anomaly... Now, I know as much about the code signature that ran through Neo's veins as the next guy. I may not be the most brilliant, most cunning, most powerful Redpill on this side of the iteration but I do know one thing about anomalies... I know I'm not one of them... Could I have prepared myself for something such as this? Will I be able to face him and get through this alive? Or will he finish what Tytanya started?

I still feel that cold metal at my throat to this day, attempting to sever my lifeline and leave an empty husk back aboard the Armitage.

So long as I reach my mark, I don't care what's at stake. I will give my life to see her pay for what she did.

I wouldn't mind seeing bandanas that end up being worn around the forehead as opposed to over the face. But that's asking for a bit too much, perhaps. While I wouldn't mind seeing higher level bandanas, I feel there's no way to make the Sakura obsolete. From an Influences standpoint, none of the level 50 Archer Fedoras really compare to it. The IS regen and the Viral Defense are both invaluable, in my opinion.

Unless, of course, you're an MA. Then perhaps you don't need the VD as much as your Viral Defense is already pretty decent.

So you'll end up with a bunch of Bandanas that nobody really uses, unless the buffs were very sweet, such as 3% accuracy or resistance buffs.

More items is far better than an item overhaul that's being asked for. So the occasional addition of new items is still great.

People complain about the 'trivial' things as it is, so I doubt those same people would be accepting of a high risk change.

Actually, didn't someone say elsewhere that Rarebit was working on new bad-*CENSORED* items?
