I'm certain that the creators have probably never played mxo, but their first place procedural content demo looks like some kind of glitched out megacity coming to pieces around you. Makes me wish for an area in the game based around the same idea.

I was wondering if anyone else here uses Greasemonkey, and has created/downloaded any custom scripts that might be useful on DN1.

I gather that was one of it's original functions during development anyway. Does anyone think that, bringing it back and adding hyper strength requirements to the carrying of certain luggables, would add anything worthwhile to the system?

Because I can never remove "Luggable Detected" from my HUD. If it's not possible to make it so we can remove waypoints with spaces in their names, then something like "etc_etc" or "blah-blah" would be helpful.

As of update 47. It would appear that audio recordings are no longer uploadable. Bad news for me, who got out every audio recording he had because a voice in the new cinematic sounded familiar. So just a heads up to everyone. Don't take audio recordings out of your code archive.

Ever felt camera shy?

I've never seen that name before on a spotlight machine. Also, small bits of green matrix code seem to be coming from the ground beneath them. for example in these three screenshots:

Those screens are a bit small, but in the second one you can definitley make out a character. I've checked very carefully and these bits of code are not coming from any ability, selection circles of dead NPC's

They are most certainly coming from the ground, around these new spotlights.

Is this the cause of those power fluctuations Gray was talking about?

Knife throwers and hackers are dependant on their special moves for good damage output. While other trees such as gunmen and now in CR2, MA's have a free fire weapon which their style enhances the damage for.

My suggestion is to create free fire Hacks and knife weapons. Something you could equip and fire as if it were a gun, only the damage caused was enhanced by their respective styles (Hacker style for viral, spy style for thrown)

This way, I believe all the various disciplines will be on a level playing field in terms of combat mechanics. Both having a standard free fire weapon that compliments their style, and abilities for high damage and special states. Perhaps with this change hacker abilities could be modified to require states, like other offensive abilities.

Do they even exist? I'm not sure.

If you have one, I am very interested in purchasing it. Buffed or unbuffed, I don't particularily care.

Right, If you want to. I suppose we could keep it an "uber l33t secret" like our hotbars and such, But It might help people find a combination that works for them.

My stats are:

14 Vitality
20 Perception
20 Reason
21 Focus
14 Belief

I chose not to max out anything, It was leaving me too weak in other aspects. My favourite builds are Gunman builds. Despite not having max Focus or Perception (Ballistic accuracy and Ballistic Damage) It works out comfortably. And I can perform competently with MA and Spy trees too.

I really think its about balance now, I need the extra reason, belief and vitality as much as I need the others. It's the best set of stats I've come across while playing around with RSI hacks.

What does everyone else prefer?

While surfing, I came across a modified version of bliss, a standard windows XP wallpaper, it had some code overlay and a sentinel floating in the center of it, I liked it so much I decided to have a go at adding a matrix mood to the supplied desktop images in my windows XP installation.

After re-reading The Raven, a well known poem By Edgar Allan Poe. I was put in the perfect mood for a brooding, slightly depressed, lifelong funeral attendee type of character. The following four Images were made for her formal introduction.

There's my go at a glass window with condensation on it. I dont remember exactly what I did. Layers, some glass filters, linear and color dodge, faded clouds and a dissolved layer wen't onto it in some order.

A status effect that starts when you run, and finises when you stop
running. Adds a little to dodge ranged and combat evasion. But lowers
combat tactics for a short period after you stop.

I decided to make this thread to let everyone know the kind of
character I like to RP as, this way you can "use" me for Roleplay
sessions you think would be appropriate for TheTaxidermist.

Personality:

Taxi is a studier of the matrix at heart. He examines the system for
errors, and malfunctions in the hope of better understanding the nature
of the program as a whole. He beleives that somewhere in the code is
the "meaning of life" for want of a better expression.

This makes him a distanced and remote person. He is very learned but
not at all agressive. And will often remain in the background of a
scenario, observing the events that take place instead of being up
front and confrontational. He prefers to avoid a fight at all times,
for it gets in the way of his study, this makes him a medicore fighter,
best suited to escape and evasion.

Beliefs:

In addition to his belief that the matrix holds the path to enlightenment, Taxi also has opinions about other things.

He is not a firm advocate of good and evil, he asserts instead that
everyone has an ambition, and that from their own position that
ambition seems righteous and others appear dishonorable. He accepts
that becasue of this people are destined to be enemies, and that all
that can be one to resolve the conflict is for one side to defeat the
other.

He had no interest in the "politics" of the matrix. He doesn't really
care about the moral issues brought up by the machines keeping people
sleeping, nor does he want to see neo's remains or the surface
reclaimed, He is more or less, too involved in his observations of the
matrix to care.

Loadouts:

I have only two roleplay loadouts, I chose the ones that I felt
most suited my characters personality. In roleplay, these are the ONLY
two loadouts I will use

Data miner:

Becasue he's always examining the system, I thought this made sense to have, the effect from the goggles too.

Sniper:

For two reasons, I need someting offensive, since I'm not ruling out
getting into a fight all the time, and secondly It really chimes with
the distanced nature of the character and I can very easily imagine him
in the distance, watching everything through a scope.

Strengths

He knows a lot about the matrix, if you want information about something, chances are He'll know what you want.

He's a reasonable fellow, calm and focused. He can keep the peace fairly well.

Weaknesses

(I'm gonna have to put more in here than strengths, or youll all accuse me of tryong to be godlike :smileytongue SMILEY

We've already covered he's not a killing machine (I intend to play this out ingame as much as possible)

Loner, if you ever want to ambush him, its a sure thing

He's a reasonable fellow, and would most likely help you even if you were an enemy.(yes, its a double edged sword I feel)

Mob tokens (for trading at collectors) - $i8000 each

Syntax is the resulting merger between three older servers, linenoise,
proxy and output. This merge combined two timezones and yesterday it
seems, US time won :smileysad:

Im fine with that to a certain degree, US game population is higher and
they deserve as much LET interaction as we do. So my ideal situation
would be a chompromise;

There are several LET appearences staged. We know this thanks to a certain slip up :smileywink:
Perhaps some or at least one of those could occur at a more GMT
friendly time. It needn't be drastic change, 9pm-1am would be perfectly
acceptable for me. Thats 1pm-5pm PST anyway

For anyone who's not sure, myself and Bittype figured it out this morning

Every 10 minutes, 2(last time I checked) corrupted spawn at a level 2 or 3 lower than the person they spawn for.

They will spawn anywhere, regardles of location, population density, or
the presence of the fly virus. So if youre finding it hard to gank them
before you comrades, head out alone to an isolated area, or get a
mission team together and do the same, youll be swimming in frags before you know it :smileyhappy:
