Cheers for that - although I have seen that page before. I can't seem to be able to 'load' abilities, so I can't tell whether my template goes over the 100 Memory limit.

Is there an Ability/Memory Loadout Planner for MXO? A planner where it is essentially an off-line duplicate of the Abilities Tree to help players play around with potential templates all the way up to 50?

No worries, just get with a group of others leveling and take your time. It's not that bad if you have friends.

As for an info boost I say no. There are many and I mean many people with way more info than they need. Even I have 200 million on my person which I think is high considering the most expensive item in game is 100 million. Minus the inflation we have on new items cause everyone has a billion info. I remember a time when buying something for 5-10 mill was tons, you would scoff at paying more than a few hundred K for enhanced clothes, stuff like that.

They need a info sink not to give us more easy info.

Skull made a good point, they do listen to the community and the latest updates did bring nice content to the game. BUT, we need more people. Seriously it's straight-up depressingly quiet sometimes.

Agreed. I originall knew of MXO purely by the bad rep.  But recently I decided to give it a shot and make my own mind up (following watching the trilogy in a marathon session) rather than listening to the criticisms second- or third-hand. And I have to say, the poor reputation is thoroughly undeserved. Yes it could do with some serious content injection, and marketing needs to be resuscitated , but as a game... MXO is fantastic. Nowhere else can I fight with a myriad of guns, knives, kung-fu/karate/akido/good old fashioned brawling in a contemporary setting... in bullet-time... in an ever-evolving story.

I've played a few MMOs in my time (SWG/CoX/POTBS) but in a time-for-time comparison, I'm having more fun here. If potential players knew of the pros of this game, rather than listening to the negative comments (aided by the marketing stasis) more would come.

In essence, MXO needs to stop being the mistreated Cinderella of SOE's gaming repertoire, and start getting ready for the Ball.

I will admit, I had awful trouble deciding on an avatar.  But I always enjoyed Marsters on Buffy/Angel (and now Torchwood... despite the fact I think the show is dreadful IMO) and if any character could port into The Matrix well, it was Spike.

I tend to agree. The only other comparative contemporary MMO out there for remarkable 'powers' is CoH/CoV. And I've played them to death. But there's something special about MXO, I've come to learn. I can't put my finger on it, but I think it has something to do with the gritty realism - ironic as that may sound - of the premise.

So. Taking a break is always a good idea. But you'll feel a stirring in the blood soon enough, and you'll find yourself swallowing a red once more. And it'll still be here for when you do.

Finally worked out how to purchase/upgrade my abilities - boy was I woefully underequipped. It's all so clear now. Great system, if you don't mind me saying so. Harkens back to the ol' pre-NGE hybrid templates in SWG *wipes tear of nostalgia from eye*

As for flagging red - I relish the challenge when the time comes.

Actually, I tried to download the Trial a good while back, but the installation files were always corrupted. I stopped trying in the end (which explains my 2007 forum reg date and only recent jibber-jabber.. ). Tried again a week or so ago, and it still failed (something to do with a checksum). So I purchased the full game on trust and patched directly from the Launchpad. I've /claimed a couple of times, but only seemed to have recieved the Mobius Code thing. Ah well. Not really an issue - looking forward to leaping like a gazelle very soon.

For what it's worth, I do find the marketing of MXO atrocious. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving this game... but I knew of MXO purely for its negative rep, rather than its obvious accomplishments. I finally subbed because I wanted to make up my own mind about the MMO, and actually have been pleasantly surprised that despite [Vista] glitches, repetition and other small - minor - issues here and there, this is a game to be proud of.

Hell, I'm a long-term SWG/CoX gamer, so I know all about "wasted potential". LOL!

I think MXO could do with a lot more positive spin out there. I just don't know whether the franchise has enough life in it to warrant it. Unlike Star Wars for example, I've not heard of any future Matrix media in the works. This is a problem when there is a game based on a series of movies (and limited comic run) which has run its course. What else besides MXO is there which continues to be present in the consumer's retail consciousness?

At the end of the day: it's not the game which is flawed - it's the silence of marketing which needs a redpill.

Hi all. Stupid redpill question, but figured rather than creating a whole new thread, I'd post in here for peer-focus. It's related to 'changing organisations' in so far as in order to change, you have to belong.

At what point is one deemed a 'member' of an organisation? For example, I have been doing missions for the Phone Contacts, and earning Rep. Is there a Rep threshold where I'm automatically flagged as a member, or sent an invite?

Speaking of which.... there's "Hyper-Leap Beta" in my Abilities Tree attached to the root Awaken. Not entirely sure how to get this (if at all). I suddenly recieved a "Mobius Code" somehow too.
