Earlier today four members including myself of a machinist faction raided a zion zombie party in mansen park. This is not bragging nor is it an invite for FLAMEBAIT. So don't do either.

This is a discussion on wethor it is right or wrong to do this.

I have played several MMO's including WoW, GuildWars, MuDs, and messed around with a few othes. In all of these Ninja Looting was seen as wrong. However unlike those worlds ((with the exception that I will get to in a second)), The Matrix Online exists in a contest state of war ((especially on this servor)) and we are not supposed to be chummy chum's with the other party.

However your not my org or my faction and 99% of you have don't seem to mind taken pot shots at me during in an LET event ((and a lot of you anyother time)). So how does that change anything when its not an LET event.

World of Warcraft, your enemies are clearly defined they look evil/good and you look the opposite. You attack them, and they attack you. There are incident's when they are 40 lvls below you and you just don't touch them and there are raid's where anything and EVERYTHING is for grabs.

Espi has dissipeared into the shadow's content to let them protect him as he forgets who he is, Authority seem not to care for the live's they take. What am I left with then but myself. And my hope.

To those who this may concearn.

Over the course of time since release this game has been rocked
by a large group of incidents the most recent being the Bug
Feedback Forum. Like myself most players when they first picked
up the game thought the possibility of meeting Morpheous and Seraph and
other LET characters was incredible. While that possibility is
incredible it leads to incidents and accusations of favortism.
Which is why we now have ORG meetings in Clubs. This game has
slowly become politicly correct, well at least in a matrix-esqe format.

What we now have is the current state of affairs were one on one's are
rare if ever. The idea of unique item's similer to the assassin's
mask has been destroyed. And people rage because they were not
chosen to report bugs or be privy to the going ons of LESIG.

The reason behind these is not SOE's or the Dev's fault it lies in the
players. We exist in a state of constant fighting. Over
knowledge of the game, over CQ, and over storyline interaction.
Not everyone is as good as everyone else. Each of us needs to
acknowledge that fact.

Not everyone can have an assassin's mask. Like items from World
Of Warcraft, while they exist the difficulty in getting them would be
the same as assassin's masks. Not everyone can meat Niobe
because face it. Your not that high on her list. Not
everyone can be the one. As a group we need to grow up, because
if we don't were gonna get pissed.

You see it all the time in PvP.

"You got pwned", "You suck newb", "You got beat by a carebear"\

This state of mind exists in all formats including storyline and in game knowledge.

Knoweldge is power and to much power is not a good thing, not
everyone is destined to know everything. And not everyone can be
trusted with knowledge and power.

Out of all the MA trees. Aikido GM is probably the one that see's the least use.

The Idea behind it was that it was a defensive style that utulized
moves that created special states rather than your powerless/stun/dps
of karate and kung mu

However there are several factors that turn this tree into a gimped tree.

Lack of stacking buffs- The Main two Aikido Master abilites serene calm
and iron body do not stack with the awakened abilities. both are
timed unlike only the +defense abilties. Its usually just better
save of memory if you do not load them because its not worth it due to
those other abilities being better/longer durations/

By letting these buffs stack you increase a aikido GM's survivabilitiy

Lack of Combo's-Both Speed Tactics and Power Tactics have combination
moves that basicly let you get off two high dps moves off of one state
((though not in same tree)) Grapple which is the main stance of aikido
does not have that though it does have some incredible moves (aerial
take down and tomo-nage). By letting you chain these to oh say
triple front kick a player would be more likely to try and combo
that. ((Tomo_Nage's ability is made up for the fact that it is
much lower dps.))

Inefficient Low Lvl Moves.

Most players stay with the classics. Sky High Sidekick and
Kung-fu's blinding strike both come to mind. Both create
effective states both are decent dps. Then you have
dim-mak,piston kicks, and ki charged punch and they both turn into main
stays even at higher lvls.

Compare this to Counter throw and Maki-Otoshi.

Counter Throw is a low dps state required move. Causes confusion((acts like powerlessness)) and 30 dps.

Maki-Otoshi is a decent is decent dps move that has a 30% of causing melee accuracy on your opponet to go down for a bit.

Maki-Otoshi needs to be able to affect both Balistic and Melee in order
to be effective at that purpose compared to moves like misdirect punch
and sky high sidekick. While Counterthrow needs a better affect
and a little higher dps to put it on par with moves like piston kicks
and dimak strike

And zen master of course...but thats a whole nother story.

Okay this is not a flame war post this is me posting my own independent thoughts on a subject.

Nerfs.

The Basic Rule is that someone will always use a build that is in their
eyes the most effective, that is until someone comes along and builds a
better load. This is what happens in MMO's. Now the dev's
have thought to nerf the following tree's

-Virel

-Patcher

-Spy

Now before these nerf's these trees were inherently powerfull and now
as people move from tree to tree and other's try to take advantage the
tree's get nerfed. Unlike most game's the devs for MxO are very
very client oriented and like to pay attention.

Now here's the deal.

Stop complaining about nerfs. The Same People who complain and
moan about nerf's are the same one who go and swap to the next most
powerfull build they can find.

This has been done before with MKT, Patcher/Gunslinger,
Spies in the recent cr2, and will continue to be done. Now how
about you just enjoy your class.

Me I am probabaly gonna stay As a MA on my alts and hacker as my main. Sniper/Riflemen lacks in the intrlock department.

Please stop complaining about the dev's choices in what they
nerf. Just enjoy the blasted game. and whatever loadout you like.

But I know you will ignore that and go about trying to spam others with cheap abilities and try to rack up cq.

Well earlier this morning...((My time))decent sized pvp batttle In Mara C. Zion vrs Mach for the most part. Now I have to ask myself this very unusual question.

How does Grace Do it.

Extremely High Defense All Across The Board. Decent Damage ((mostly from normal attacks)). And high resis as well.
Shows up as a riflemen.

Any thoughts?

*walks in sticks his head around, dodges a few flame posts, notices the authority/system psts and the various locks on them, narrowly escapes a few Locks himself. Gets hit in the face by authority/system and stumbles out the door*

Hello Syntax. It's been a while since Iv'e been here like this
and well, I am not sure if I can continue to play the Matrix
Online. I am doing this as much because I don't want to leave but
there are so many reason's that I should.

-Becuase I live in Japan I find myself missing out on LET, which is the primary reason I play this game.

-I suffer from continuous Lag to the point where intrlock and split
second actions, are not something that I can do reliably. IE it's
impossible for me to do what player's like anxiety and HT do on a
continual basic.

-I have been in this world since release and seen many people come and go, but I am forever a second string player.

-As a player and as a character I am generally disliked and
unknown. DM is no the most well liked player, and for that matter
I am not the most well liked person.

There are many reason's for me to go and not very many for me to stay.

And I am unsure of what to do.

::Again the screen flashes images of virtual carnage. Death , destruction, and blood; all virtual but real to me all taking its toll on my sanity and my sense of self.::

Each org to me represents differn't aspects of our mind. The Merovingian interested me, they are a representaion of Passion and Greed. I wanted my other character to be a Merovingian.

The Finest Merv factions out there in my opinion are the Commission and Consequence. I contacted Nephillim of Consequence on Penombra looking to join consequence and solidate Her Position as a Merv. I acceidly let slip to him that my main was a cypherite and told him who I was. Knowing full well that StaticZero the leader of that faction and that he would have to be told and wanting to be the one to tell him what was going on I talked to, and I was immediately shot down. And told that Pen could not be a member of any merv faction connected to The Cirlce organization which consists of all the ones I could want to join. And not only that but my main charcter, DM was KOS to all mervs. I exploded a bit and I will admit. I didn't want to turn this into a shouting match and it did. *sighs*A bit afterwords I was told when I proved my loyalty to the merv I could join. But in the eyes of those that matter , It's MY(the players) Loyalty that matters and not the characters. Which will never happen because DM is where he is for a reason.

I am not writing this to flamebate as one person put it, but because that i find this unsat and that the only thing that stopped me was the fact my other character was a cypherite. To me the greatest thing rob a person of is their ability to choose. Maby other can't keep their characters differn't from each other. But to those that say I was wrong I say this.

A lot of the movie character's have special cloathing that you will never see on the drop tables.
The Merovingians Lounge Coat, Serpeph Spectacles.

Here is an idea, introduce the concept of world Movie Drops. Unique extremely rare drops for lvl 50's with extremely high end buffs. Some can be from the actual characters from the movies.

Similer to the assassin's mask.

Like Morpheous Coat, Seraphs Overwear, and Cypher's Shades.

Or they can be other items that are unique. This way the high lvl's have something to work for and attain.

Like Agent's Smith's Berratas.

Btw make them non decompable of course.

Higher lvl opponet and higher chevron the higher chance for dropping one ((still astronomical))

Now first of all, why would anyone in their right mind go and try to make info in this game....It's pointless.

Now I will be the first to say your wrong. $Info on this game is precious for four reasons.

LvLing up and buying those semi important abilities....

Yes the abilities.....

It takes millions and millions of info to lvl up those abilites to lvl 50.....

Buying those sweet outfits on the market place....

Yes those sweet outfits with those lovely buffs....

Generally speaking due to the fact that most decompile them as soon as they make them...well cloathes spread like wild fire.

The Occasional In Game event requiring info...

Again sounds weird... but it works rather well..

Pandora;s box was the biggest, was funny listening to people who didn't have a million info on their person.

And of course Pills and Shots..

Health, Antibiotic, TB's and health boosters....

They sell for a lot of info on the market and you WILL go through them like wild fire...a stack of 20 doesn't last through ten mins of PvP in Mara C.

So how do you make that Info.

Crafting.....

Farming....

Raiding.....

Special Events.....

Crafting-

Coder is one of the most underutilized diciplines in the game to my opinion. And most people don't even bother ever lvling it. This is a mistake. Until you reach lvl 50 and start lvling up 75% of the trees out there. Lvling coder will make you self-reliant. And an ever popular man with the crowds. Yes....having any form of coder on will get you spam of ./tell XXXXX from the masses for free abilties, cloathing, etc. Especially in Mara C.

Now....the true power behind coder is *drum roll* RED FRAGS. Yes the red frags worth a million each and steadily growing RED frags are pain in the *CENSORED* to get. In order for any ability past lvl 20 to be crafted you will need one of these. *Warning* These are hard to get. They drop off mobs in certain districts, each district dropping one of these and only one kind. You will be farming here if you need them.

Pills, these are generally Marketplace sold items. Even beyond crafting abilties and cloathing, even fewer coders will code weapons and consumables. Consumables are your pills and your boosters. These are desperately needed for any form of PvP especially if your by yourself. Don't bother selling ./shout in mara C just post them on the market. They will sell.......

And as for cloathing. That tends to be a sticky mess. One player will find a extremely powerfull item and A. Keep it to themselves like they should, or B.put it on the market place for a high amount of info. do not be this person.....keep it to yourself....and if you see it on the market....resist the urge to hit buy.....someone else will and then craft the item and sell it for less.....just have patience ((This is not as true in today'sgame as it was back during release)). So if you find an item...keep it TO YOURSELF. I can not stress that enough.

Crafting tends to be the slowest of the info gaining, however it also tends to help you in the long run. I reccomend you use it at least for your own private use. The BIG KEYS

-Do not attempt to sell In MARA C. Even during busy hours most people really don't pay to much attention to whats actually being said.

-Use the market place. There are a lot of items placed on the market for no apparent reason that shouldn't be there. Go through the market and see if you can find any good deals.

-Lvl up ability, cloathing, and consumables. you will become a self sufficient player..

-Stock up on Red Frags....you will need them for crafting and selling...they are where most of the costscomesin

Raiding....

Raiding is going through archives and hide outs with the express purpose of repeatedly defeating the boss in order to get his drop. The boss in the archives are extremely difficult to beat and require teams. The drop rate is rather bad as well, but the items are the best for their lvl with no exceptions....

The bosses in the hideouts drop a item every time but they have three lvls of items with the most powerfull being only a 1% drop rate.... bosses also spawn slowly... keep this in mind....

Archives Boss Drops Routinely sell in the tens of millions if not more.

Hideout Boss drops sell for 500k a pop for tier one increasing to 10 million for the rare drops.

Keep these in mind while your raiding.

-The Archive boss drops will be fought over if you find them, don't be an *CENSORED*.

-The market is flooded with items from hideouts....you will have to sell lower than others to make a profit and constant sales....((unless its tier one then go ahead and charge they will pay for the extra buff))

- A semi constant way to make money from hideouts and a incredible way to make money if you manage it from the bosses but don't expect much.

Farming.....

Farming is a repetive action designed for the sole purpose of gaining info and code to decompile.
A warning before I start. SOE may take some farming actions to be Exploits....because some of them are that cheap.

Farming is Player Dependent. Each player comes up with differn't places to farm and differn't items to farm for.

Come up with your own stratagy. Some strats will rake in 10million info a hour if you know what your doing, and some will gain you the same amount if your combing for subroutines.....keep that in mind as you play.....

Destroyer/Howitzer builds are a must for any farmer due to constant area dam, decentIS use.

Also now with CR2 its possible to inflict area damage over a far greater area than before ((THIS IS A BIG HINT ABOUT ONE OF MY FARMING METHODS))

-Farming can be the quickest way to Make INFO

-Downtown. General Area. Use loadouts and just generlly spend time aimlesly wandering. Kill for subs and the occasional drop.

-Archives. See RAIDING. Also for the ocassional drop.

-Grinding. Doing repitive missions... worst method.

Special Events happen every few months from the pandora boxes to the blue frags.....

Blue Frags were being bought out for a million a frag up to 3 million a frag. If you can get on top of those buyers and sellers you will be rich like you wouldn't believe.

Special Event Items arepriceless.

The Assassin's Mask no longer exists on the syntax servor due to the owners not playing mxo.

That alone could have made 500 million info.

Special Events....are exactly that special events, they requrie patience time and a bit of luck.
