I'm looking to add some labels to screenshots, but everything I've conceptualized has sucked once I've put it onto the pics. I'm just looking for some simple shapes that I can put some text into in order to describe the screenie. Anybody have something simple yet nice looking? I'm not much of a PS wiz.

I feel jacking in is akin to being sucked up by a vacuum cleaner, getting whirled around for a bit, then being dumped in the bin with the rest of the garbage. I swear I wasn't always this cynical…

"How about Alphaea? Sheesh…"

"Yes Alph-ae-a," deadpanned my operator with particular emphasis on each syllable of my handle.

Still a smarmy little bastard.

I appear, code falls, everything turns from green and black to, well, less green and blackish. The faint sound of The Rolling Stones' "Paint it Black" echoes from my jacket pocket. How appropriate… if he spent more time coding and less time changing my cell phone rings who knows what I could do?

"Yeah? Yup, I understand. Transfer data, not much time, the usual."

The Magog subway was less crowded than it should have been for rush hour. But I couldn't account for the lack of people as an anomaly yet. All Blues going about their daily business. I was wary, but this wasn't the place I had to put my guard up. Agent attacks had been reported in all districts but the slums. Didn't make me less prone to keep an eye on the bum who lived in a cardboard box by the station map. Finally!

"I'm outta the subway Pattone, you better keep your *CENSORED* glued to that code. If I get followed by Agents I'm holding you responsible."

"Yes Ma'am, my eyes are your eyes. You know they'll be looking for you after a personal transmission from Lock," I was glad to see he was still as dedicated as anyone when it came to the nitty gritty.

I began to run. No hyper-jumps today, I wasn't about to do anything extra to put myself on the radar, being here was enough.

"Left and down the alley Alphaea, take the long way through those two buildings ahead, find the northwest exit from that warehouse and it'll be 500 meters due west to the drop."

I leapt over trash, hurtled dumpsters, and banged through doors until I made it to the calm before the storm.

"Where's that transmission! I'm here right on time."

"Got it Ma'am, building directly behind you with the four doors, Go!"

Going to a spot then waiting for final word from Zion on a data drop location was not my idea of fun, but I suppose it must be done.

"Box 405, key's in your pocket. A terrible choice of number if you ask me," the well-seasoned Pattone opinioned. It was a terrible choice, that number would never be right with me since Farplane's miserable experience with that deranged being. I can't call 405 a man, he was too pitiful for that.

As soon as I opened the box I knew…

"I'll have those Codes from you Ms. Preiss." The Agent's voice was unmistakable.

"So, who is it this time huh? Agent Dong? Agent Biddledeepoop? I heard you guys were running short on names with all the blues you've taken over lately." I had to buy just a few seconds.

"That is not the issue Ms. Preiss. The issue is the New Zion access codes you are currently holding in your right hand. Give us the codes or die." Never could take a *CENSORED* joke.

"Didn't you guys have a similar conversation with a fella named Morpheus? Oh yeah, how'd that work out?" The three Agents glanced at one another after the mention of Morpheus.

It was just long enough. Good thing I shoot better with my left. I shoved the data disk through the mailbox so it would land on the other side and dove desperately to my right. I knew I wouldn't hit them, but at least it would make them dodge something. The plinks and plunks of bullets plunging into the steel mailboxes gave little comfort. At least it wasn't the thud or crack when bullet meets flesh and bone. I rolled and came up pushing off just with my left leg. I sprang off to my right and used a square concrete column to springboard me back through the glass pane of the mailroom door.

Sliding on my belly across the floor, I simultaneously spotted my doom and my salvation. The disk had graciously landed on the floor in my path and an air conditioning duct purred lazily directly above it, a few streamers tied to the duct vent flowed weakly as if to prove it still existed.

It's moments like these when I thank some of the people who have come and gone for making me explore the city with them. It was an old friend Tsomai who encouraged me to explore every inch of the buildings in International, it was me who decided I would download and study the schematics. With this particular building, the vent I was looking at was the bottom of a long shaft that went straight to the roof. The air conditioner pushed the cold air down from an adjacent shaft and allowed the condensation and hot air to go out of this one. Now all I had to worry about was the curved aluminum "porthole".

Too late, they had already shot the doorknob off. I coiled myself into a human spring and jumped.

I may have a few of these lyin' around from waaaaaaay back when. They still work to a degree. So anyone have any offers? Not sure how much they'll go for.

Yup, it's time for me to go. I've run my course in MxO and I have too much going on in the real right now to actually jack-in that much anyway. Thanks for making it a good time kids while it lasted. Good luck for those of you that stay, I do hope MxO fulfills much of its original promise. I'd rather try and thank people individually instead of putting it here, expect to hear from me.

As for the Trust, Gruk and Farplane will be taking over. I think they'll do just fine.

And don't ask for my stuff Roukiepoo, I'm giving it all away to Trust members.

Does anyone have any particular affinity to some of these crazy looking things? I'm also curious if anyone has used them in RP stories or player events.

I know the Ascension monument is quite popular ever since it was rumored to be the way into the Merv's famous "Blackwood" construct. But what about some of the one's that you don't pass by everyday like the Mjolnir monument? It's name is the name of Thor's hammer, it even looks like a really big hammer. But what the heck is it doing there in a vacant lot? Am I the only person who thinks of these things?

I found this picture of my conversation with an enlightened gentleman, MrAnderson2, from way back in the days of my old faction 'The Eudai'.

He had just been killed by some local gang members and stopped to talk to me at the Guinness E HL. Naturally I fled to a location he was sure not to find me.

Typical day in Camon. Gunfire in the distance, lesbian vampires on the roof. And who do I see? Why that old reporter fella, Andres Bonafacio. We exchange pleasantries and he starts by mentioning this database. I decided it was time to discuss what he had to say away from the usual crowd near Camon Central.

He said I was to meet someone and add the information they gave me to this database...
Always a nice fellow, I decided to abide by his request and wait for word of a messenger. It didn't take long. A young operative began asking my fellow faction members if I could meet her in Camon. We rendevoused in the back of the church and she gave me something I couldn't believe. These pictures, and a cryptic statement that she was in danger. It clearly became apparent that she was not the only one.

If this is truly who I believe it is, then I'm going to need your help.

All I ever see are the drops as they hit the pavement...I see streaks on my craptop that I have to have on the lowest settings minus 10. Anything wrong with my settings? Screenies of proof!

Many of the female citizens of The Mega City have complained of a certain operative attempting to "Mack" on them. This has been created to counter this operative's desperate attempts.

More Barn building missions FTW!

It's simple and dark, but I like it. I know whoever plays her probably can't use it since she's LESIG and doesn't have a second SOE account, but who knows? And she's been to good to us Recursion Zionites not to make a sig.

Figured I'd mess around with shooting at people and take some shots for sigs. I'm still mucking with the text, but any help with that is appreciated.

With MKT and Master Assass loaded both at the same time, there are quite a few free fire assassin attacks that you can pull from a disguised/stealthed state. When using a disguise, I can hit with one attack, but then when re-disguising and going back I immediatley become un-disguised as soon as I try another free fire assassin ability. This happens with any assassin free fire ability, even the one's that don't require stealth.

I need to do some more testing...but this is an extremely annoying bug.

Since we've been getting all this high level clothing I thought I would help by handing out the +14 to decomp catsuit and the +12 to decomp red arasiki zipper pants. These two items make sure I never fail when decompiling.

I'll get the stats on here and the level requirements when I get home.

I've been getting a lot of coding requests lately and I have some weapon, upgrade, ability, decompile and tool enhanced clothing. Just need this last little bit to help get all those extra little purity dots my customers crave.

I'm tired of putting on that big ugly metal clunky thing for shades. Anyone found any high level face coverings that aren't code launchers?

And I have the widow's moor lenses, I just like to diversify.

I cancelled my subscription to MxO today. Just wanted to say
thank you to the people who kept me interested for so long and give a
few reasons why I'm gone

This game
just isn't fun for me anymore. I wish it was, because I like you guys
and that's what's kept me around so long. I just can't justify 15 bucks
a month for something I don't enjoy that much.

It was really the
server merge that did it for me I think, Method was a bunch of
egotistical *CENSORED*hats (no offense to those of you from Method who aren't
*CENSORED*hats - some of the Zionites I've met from Method are decent people)
and they've really proved it to me the past few months. I'm tired of
the whining and b*tching. I'm tired of no interaction with LE
characters. I'm tired of losing old friends, faction mates, good
people, and Iteratorians. I'm tired of being swallowed in the sea of
munchkins.

This game for me was all about the community (that's
why I wanted to reach lvl 50 and have been so for a long time), but now
that the majority of the community has gone to sh*t, I have no reason
to stick around anymore. I just liked being lvl 50 and hanging out,
helping the faction and other like-minded Zion folks...but I can't do
that anymore without running into someone who feels like their goal in
life is to be an annoyance to the universe.

People will say
"Just ignore the bad one's" - I've tried doing that for a looooong time
now and it's getting harder and harder. I've tried to be active on these
MxO forums and participate in some RP there with some good people only
to get flamed and disparaged. I've tried to be active in PvP and do so
with respect and good representation for Zion only to be insulted and
annoyed. I've tried to do some of the new Pandora's content missions
only to get looted and screamed at, I can't get away from it.

Maybe
I'll be back someday, but the entire community is going to have to take
one giant leap of maturity and I can't see that happening. I'll be
transferring leadership to my faction mate Elexa in my absence and you
should contact her for anything Eudai related.

I'm sorry to
leave you guys, but this has been building for some time. Good luck and
thanks for all the good (and bad) times, it has been enjoyable and I'm
sure I'll miss it every once and a while, but what's done is done.

A little background story on Alphaea's awakening:

Carrie Preiss always had a high opinion of herself. A philosophy professor at Mega City State,
Carrie drew on her "superior" intellect to make those around her feel
worse about themselves. As anyone with this kind of attitude can
attest to, she was avoided by the general public and lived alone with
her cat Socrates and her bust of Aristotle.

One
evening while she was working late (adding disparaging comments to her
students term papers) she received a phone call. A dark voice on
the other end replied "Only you can want to become more than yourself,
by freeing your mind you can achieve Eudaimonia." Carrie
attempted to speak, but the caller hung up without allowing her a
response. What could this mean? Who would call her and
reference the ancient Greek goal of humanity - Eudaimonia?

Carrie
dismissed this call and had almost completely forgot about it when
after a long night of grading papers at home and watching some
tearjerkers (An Affair to Remember was one of her favorites) she heard
a voice in the room with her. It whispered
"Only...you...free...eudai". Scared out of her wits, Carrie
grabbed her mace from her purse and took a defensive position against
the couch. The voice whispered it's cryptic message again and
Carrie noticed the movement out of the corner of her eye...but she
couldn't believe it! Wouldn't believe it! Her idol
Aristotle was speaking to her through the porcelain head of his Carrie
had displayed in the living room!

She
was near fainting when there was a single knock at the door.
Carrie froze. After a minute of blessed silence again came a
single knock. The head spoke again, "I can only show you the
door, you are the one who has to walk through it." Her head
reeling again, Carrie staggered to the door and peeked through the
keyhole, the only thing she saw was a figure surrounded by white
light. She unlocked and opened the door only to find a young man
in leather wearing sunglasses ("Indoors at night? I MUST be
mad..."). He spoke, "My name is Lexeus, I have someone who is
very eager to meet you."

By now Carrie was completely lost in the dream. She followed Lexeus just down the hall to apartment 303
and again he repeated "I can only show you the door, you are the one
who has to walk through it." She clasped her clammy fingers
around the doorknob and turned. She was greeted with a very
unimpressive and sparsely decorated apartment. There were only
two leather chairs that looked like they belonged in an old folks home
and a round wooden table with a black rotary phone on it. A voice
from the chair facing away from her said "Please come and sit.
I'm sorry about Aristotle, but my First Mate has a strange sense of
humor".

The young woman in front
of her was dressed in a Crimson Martial Arts robe with deep red boots
all the way up her legs past the knee. What kind of freak show is
this? She was also wearing sunglasses. The woman spoke with
a tinge of an air of superiority "I am Velvette. We have been
watching you for some time and believe you to have great potential in
the fight for humanity. I am here to give you a choice; come with
me and learn the true meaning of Eudaimonia or stay here, with your cat
and your porcelain head and live out your meaningless life to no
end. I give you the chance to truly be free and happy, choose
wisely."

For the first
time in her life, Carrie felt an emotion that she had buried long ago,
humility. She felt like a very small grain of sand in the desert
of the universe. This opened her mind for the first time to an
entire new realm of possibilities and before she could blink, she was
being pulled from the primordial garbage soup onboard the 7th Circle, a Zion hovercraft.

That's a little bit about Alphaea (yes, Carrie's still a little egocentric)

but here's some about the Eudai faction:

Eudai
is short for the ancient Greek word "Eudaimonia" - which implies
success, happiness, and fulfillment. We believe this greater happiness

virtuous, honest, brave, and true. We fight for Zion and all humanity.

I
believe in Lock, though his ends are sometimes selfish - and I believe
in Morpheus, though his means are sometimes extreme. I believe in my
old allies from Iterator and plan to make new ones very quickly.
Together all of Zion can reach true happiness, and we will be there to facilitate the means. Our end will be glorious, FOR ZION!

We
are a close knit group of players who I think have really formed a
supportive family within the Matrix. We can be laid back and serious
RP'ers when the chance arises. Formerly Sacrifice of Neo, I have
recreated our faction in the same spirit of Zion as SoN was created. We are always welcoming, if not a little immature But we aim to have fun above all else, it's a game right?

As
faction leader, my goal is to get everyone involved as much as
possible. Be it meetings with Live Events Team Characters, or helping
out other factions in PvP - I'm always trying to get all of Eudai to
rally for the cause of Zion. Please join us, I'm always excited to hear new voices in faction chat!

If you haven't met me yet, my name is Alphaea - faction leader of Eudai
(Zion). Even though I wasn't around in beta, I started my first
faction (Sacrifice of Neo) on Iterator within the first week the game
went live. Since then, an entire crew and my faction leader have
left the game for various reasons and I have recreated the faction at
the server merge as "Eudai". We aren't the biggest faction (10-15
truly active members), but they are good people and I enjoy gaming with
them. I haven't recruited anyone lately because I haven't
really found too many new players that I like. And now that SOE
seems hellbent on making MxO like every other game I don't think I will
find a lot of new players that I like.

So here's my quandry:

I kind of feel lost in the shuffle so to speak since the server merge
and have actually lost quite a few old allies from Iterator since
then. I really enjoy being in my faction and love leading and
helping out my faction mates (Coding, access nodes, lvling, anything).
But like I said, I feel like a small sardine in a big shark pool.
I try to get the faction involved in stuff, but school has started and
many don't have much time to play at the moment. I feel like I
should give in and join a larger RP-type faction and I have even
thought about switching orgs. I don't want to just leave my
kiddies behind (I feel like a mom sometimes :smileyvery-happy:). But I don't want us to be left out of some events because of our size or lack of playtime.

I do enjoy RP and would like to be involved more often but I'm not
quite sure where to start. I love the player events so far
(Gothique, Fenshire, LadyReturn, Anubis, etc), but haven't really known
much about the players involved and want to get to know the RP
community better. I think I'm just rambling now, but this is a
start to see if I can get Eudai more involved (Removing AIM really hurt
my ability to be contactable because I can't talk at work anymore :smileymad:). Any constructive advice/criticism is welcome.

Btw, I really do like what I see on the forums lately from our Recursion community, keep it up RP'ers :womanvery-happy:. You definately keep me from being bored at work.
