It's just bad business to force the people who are still paying the $15 on the game to have limited access to names. I understand how some of the vet's might not like the idea of a name wipe but honestly, it deters new players from joining the playerbase.
Someone has already mentioned City of Heroes doing a name wipe on accounts that had been inactive for a certain time period and that was pretty well received. Why punish those that are still contributing to the game by denying names?

Although I've recently come to MxO in the past few weeks, I couldn't help but notice the seemingly abundant number of character names with "L33T" speak. At first, I thought that this was because of the "Sci-Fi/Tech" feel of MxO but after spending over an hour and a half trying to come up with acceptable names, I'm starting to think otherwise. It occurred to me that, given the length of time has been around as well as the size of the initial playerbase, a lot of these names might be taken up by account that are no longer active. If that's the case then, I think it's a fair request to do a name wipe on some of these abandoned accounts in order to free up some names. Not only would this encourage new players to come, it would allow for names without relying on "L33t" speak.

Hey there,
I've been basically solo grinding for about 7 levels now and am getting pretty sick of it. I'm a recent convert from City of Heroes and one of it's biggest features was the user friendly way in which to form a pick up team. From my experience thus far, two of the biggest reasons behind this lack of teaming can be attributed to two things:
1. Utter lack of Map Wide Broadcast Chat. I realize that there aren't different city zone instances so to speak but relying solely on faction chat or local chat makes it extremely difficult to find a team. Which leads to my next observation.
2. Futility of team search feature. While I admit to my newbness here and that maybe this search feature works for some people, I can never really detect anyone on. I'm sure this a direct result of the extremely low playerbase but man, is it that low that there really isn't an opportunity to form pick up teams?
I really want to like this MMO but, solo grinding the semi-redundant phone missions get's old real quick. The separation from WB must've taken a huge hit on the playerbase here. Unfortunate really.

Huh....well, I guess it fits the "Hacking" concept fairly well although I'll admit, I thought Hacking was going to be more visually pleasing. I suppose I'm used to the powersets of City of Heroes and need to get used to them here. Funny though as I thought "Hacking" meant being able to change the Matrix in ways that could resemble more awe inspiring animations. Oh well though, thanks for the screencaps. Once I'm able to finally run this game i'll stop pestering you vets about this stuff *grins*.

Huh...well...that's a bit disappointing. What's the fun of causing widespread carnage if it's subdued and repetitive animations? In fact....are Gunman capable of inflicting burst AoE damage?

Thanks for the quick reply Gerik. One thing though...
I get the sense that a lot of the stylish combat animations are reserved for the melee classes and this makes me wonder how aesthetically pleasing the Hacker abilities look in-game. Can anyone give me some feedback on this please?

Hey there, I'm coming off of playing City of Heroes/Vills for about 2 years now and am looking for a class that best resembles a Blaster or possibly even a Defender. As I read that Hackers are supposed to be the Glass Cannon "Mage" class for MxO, I'm wanting to know if Hacker is really the direction I should go in?
I haven't been able to actually login yet as I'm still downloading all of the updates so forgive me if this is something I can figure out in-game. I've had a solid 2 years of experience with MMO's and really enjoyed doing massive burst AoE damage, with the possibility of debuffs. Is Hacker the way to go here?
I've read that with whatever most recent update, Hackers are more viable in interlock (which I'm assuming is melee) and dish out some pain there as well. If that's the case, then this class sounds even more like a CoH Blaster and I think I'm on the right path. Can anyone provide some feedback or insight into the matter? Thanks in advance.
