For those who believe TB guarantees victory, it doesn't. Especially under the new system. I was surprised to run into this level 50 player who not only assumed that a booster would ensure victory, but also assumed that if I missed him once, I wouldn't be able to bring him down. I caught up with him a little while later after he jumped away, and I convinced him otherwise while adding to my CQ count. I get the feeling he never really 'got' what I was telling him, but I can sleep soundly knowing that I will never hurt for CQ with level 50's like this one running around. Oh yeah, and don't brag about someone NOT being able to kill you and you running away... brag about killing someone. Better yet, don't brag. Be a man of action. Vector, fight the fine fight and gank like there is no tomorrow, for tomorrow you might be suspeneded.

So I'm down in Mara pre-CR2.0 knifing up some 50's. I've probably killed everybody there at least once, and a 50 doc shows up and starts healing and rezzing my marks. I did what any self-respecting ganker would do and killed the doc, which is what I normally would have done anyway. Apparently, the doctor took issue with being killed. Now, I usually wouldn't care, but it seems a little silly for a 'red' to aid my enemy and not expect me to take any action. You know, friend of my enemy is my enemy or something like that. There are basically three things to do in that situation, 1) Run. 2)Fight the target until they overcome you with the help from the doctor, or you win because they are weak, or until a min-zerg arrives. 3)Immobilize your target. Kill the doctor and then kill your target. This option makes sense to me. Then, the person starts talking about 'csr'ing' as if I had issue with the patcher tree. I love the patcher tree. There is a difference between complaining about a tree, complaining about usage of a tree, and saying why someone else should not be complaining. I was doing the latter. I consider it politely admonishing them to *CENSORED*. Basically, the person complained about being killed. I let them know why they were killed, and if they did not want to be killed again, they should avoid specific behaviors. I believe this is the kind of discipline children of today's world need.
After this, the person loaded up hacker and died repeatedly.

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. I even try to be nice sometimes. I'm pvping on QA, and I kill some guy who is in mara central... a few minutes later I get this...
Now he's not making too much sense to me so I assume he'w writing a bug report, got killed and lost it. Ha! However, as he raves on, the plot thickens.
I see. He had some level 49 pants that were destroyed either by my kicking his *CENSORED*, or they had already been destroyed and he was trying to write down the name. Either way, I guess the combat spam cleared the name from the system chat before he had a chance to write them down.
It's not as if it he was going to be able to transfer those pants to live. He's just going to have to find them again regardless. I'd feel sorry for him if he hadn't flipped out like that, but it seems like the worst things happen to the most neurotic people... or is it just that they act like whatever happens is the worst thing in the world. I can't believe he said "I am **bleep**ing going to die".
As is my custom, I talk to him until he puts me on ignore, kill him a few more times, and have a hearty laugh about it. But I will say this, when my mission team left, it was me vs 4 people, this guy tried everything from ma, to guns, to knifer, to hacker with his friends to finally kill me one time. He didnt' say anything because I think he realized that killing me wouldn't bring his pants back, make him look any less stupid, or bother me at all because I'm coming right back. He logged out shortly thereafter. The moral of the story is: Learning a new system, getting new clothes and all that may be frustrating. Remember, this is a game, and you are supposed to enjoy it. It takes time to be good at almost anything, so just stick to it. Have fun, and if you find you're not having fun, take a break, go outside talk to real people, and again, remember it's just a game. Don't take it so seriously, and don't freak out and get your pulse and blood pressure all up. That **bleep** can kill you in real life. Tadow! To be counted, each kill must have a /time timestamp in system chat, and show proof that the person was actually killed, whether that be a corpse, or a soandso was killed by... in systemchat. You do not actually have to be the person to kill the target for the kill to be counted. The kill is counted by who posts the qualifying picture first on the thread entitled The Hunt IV, no matter what the timestamp says. With this hunt, I would come up with a strategy. You might want to decide if you're going to try to take out as many players as possible as soon as possible, or if you're going to try to take out who you think might be the stronger players first. Because of the number of players you might want to consider alliances... even with players of an opposite org. The Hunt IV starts at 9 PM (Mega City Time/pacific), 12 midnight eastern time, 5 AM GMT Above all else, have fun... you could die at any time. Now, I realize there are times when hardly anyone is online. You can go hours without seeing another person in-game. However, don't let that lull you into a false sense of security, Vectorites. No, no. You must keep your shield up and press your target closest enemy button frequently if you wish to avoid teh gank! Now, I'm sure many of you know how I feel about coding in Richland... much less coding as a lowbie... with no shield... in busy parts of Richland. Now I ran into a lowbie doing just that... and the education begins where their life ends.
Now silly me for not paying attention to his level... whoops, I thought he was a level 20... not that I cared if he was 20, 30, or 50... What really got me is the fact that he didn't put me on ignore, but he completely logged off!!! Now that means one of about three things... 1) He was so upset that he couldn't bring himself to play anymore (god, I hope not "jesus christ" , 2) He has another character on vector, and he went back to it, or 3) He has another character on another server, and he went back to it. Since his faction is one of the new factions I've been seeing a lot of lately I think it's one of the last 2, but most likely number 3 as a vectorite would have likely went and got their 50 and fought me (fun) or called the zerg (fun, sorta). I really didn't realize people still got this bent outta shape after getting killed on vector, so that further supports my assumption that he's from another server, along with the fact that my experience on alts on the other servers tells me that people whine more there than here... I say all that to say this... even in these challenging times for the game, there are still people who would like nothing more than to leave you in a sizzling heap on the ground. Watch your back, and don't get all emotional when you catch a beatdown. Everybody takes one occasionally, "son of a abivth".

I crashed today using a hardline, and again while trying to go go the loading area. I've compiled a comprehensive list of things that cause crashing. If you avoid these activities you should have a crash-free Matrix Online experience. - Hacking
- Getting hacked
- Interlock
- Hyperjumping
- Use of hardlines
- Going to the loading area
- Use of Tactics boosters
- Pandora's Box
- Data Mining

I've been doing odd jobs for this executive producer guy cuz he pays well, but, he sounds kind of serious here. I've seen him make one phone call and someone came and sniped a zion where he stood talking trash... I hate to do this, but It's him or me... Cryptos said so in a recording I found on a mission. He said neo is basically rotting in a tunnel after being killed by operatives of Zion's Council. It that turns out to be true (which I doubt), that'd be some of the funniest **bleep** I've heard in a while.

Part 1 Ok, This morning is the second time I've logged on to QA. The first time I didn't even play, I just looked at the hacker nerfs with great joy. I couldn't do much as my knifer tree was still loaded, I couldn't unload it, but I could throw knives. I hit an NPC with crippling throw for 5606 dmg... I figured I better not pvp on QA till that was fixed. After that was corrected, I was quite happy to log in and begin to test. I quickly threw on a duelist/MA build and when to work. After an hour of messing around I decided to pull some missions and test things out on some lvl 51 npcs. I went up to the mission floor in the elevator, and I left myself in the elevator and went and grabbed a drink. I was flagged at this point, and one of the recursionites that vector had been abusing followed me into the building. He apparently went floor by floor to find me, and by the time I got back he had gotten a couple of attacks off. I turn around and kill him. I say gf, and he comes back in a matter of seconds, I still don't know how he came back that fast, but I was by no means ready, as he had full health and IS and I was about half, so I roll and go in my mission area, while he "lol"'s at me. I heal up and come back out and he's still waiting out in the elevator. I kill him again, and I give him a little 'lol' and he starts complaining saying everyone from vector uses duelist. Seriously though... does it matter? you knew I was duelist before you attacked me. If you had such a problem with the tree do not hunt down and attack a duelist... and then attack again after you've been killed. Furthermore, the trees are f'ed up and unbalanced, I don't think I should be able to kill a level 50 in two hits, but I can... Why complain at this point, use the bug report, that's the whole point of QA. I'm taken back to the cries of the ganked of the past several months: OMG ZERG I CAN"T WAIT FOR NEW COMBAT SYSTEM! NO MORE 5 ON 1 OMG KNIFER NOOB I CAN'T WAIT FOR NEW COMBAT SYSTEM! OMG HAX! THAT'S GONNA GET NERFED THEN I WILL PWN YOU BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! Well QA is here and the more things change, the more they stay the same, you'll still get hacked, zerged, stabbed, ganked, and killed. In fact, you'll be killed in a much more effecient manner without multi-on-one interlock. You will have to find new things to **bleep** about.. I suspect it will be OMG I HATE THIS NEW SYSTEM IT SUCKS!!!! Why? Because some fail to realize that the system does not make a player good. What makes a good player is strategy, adaptability, resourcefulness, and reflexes. Even if MXO goes to static rolls, this will still hold true. Some people have it, some don't. Bottom line, don't **bleep**. Develop a sense of humor, a healthy sense of self, and Learn to play.
Part 2 On another note, I've found that there are quite a few expert riflemen/hyperjump grandmaster/master hypersprinter hybrids out there on QA. I caught up with one who was shooting from the bridge, broke his shield and killed him. He came back on the bridge, and I killed him again. Then, this lovely discussion began: I'm not sure what's funnier: The whole "If I don't know how to do it it's an exploit!" idea, or the idea that Vector has some jazzy little exploit that *gasp* LET'S YOU USE YOUR **bleep**ING ABILITIES IN INTERLOCK THE WAY THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE USED!!!!! Then there's the fact that he used "shake a stick at", "girlyman", and "pansy" (seriously, does he have a problem with women?) in a sentence in the year 2006. The fact that he tried to set me up in sai kung, then came to mara as a GM and lost to me again. The fact that he threw ever accusation in the book at me to justify his loss. He accepted the duel knowing I had evade up, and didn't say anything about it untill after he lost the duel. He thought he was going to embarrass me somehow... I wonder how because that never happened. The fact that he said "2 twices buffed to the *CENSORED*" like I'm supposed to understand what the **bleep** he was trying to say. The fact that he thought he was gonna have the last word and put me on ignore, but I ended up getting the last word and putting him on ignore first. If you're trying to be a bad *CENSORED*, never reveal your evil plot until it is too late to stop it... The icing: After all that talk of pansies and such (I think this dude has some personal issues for real) I catch up with this guy again in mara, he's a rifleman again, I break his shield and he starts doing that thing where he flips around to try to prevent me interlocking, but I catch him under the bridge in mara, beat him again, and drop a "LMAO!!!" in area chat, and the last thing I caught as a walked away... "f u" I laughed so hard tears came to my eyes.

It's especially sad when level 50's complain to me... My new thing is once I get that first tell, to trash talk them until they ignore me. This guy was upset because I used a booster in pvp. I and many other people use tactics boosters in pvp. As far as I'm concerned, it's expected, and I know many of the people I fight use them as well, which is the primary reason I use them. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm here to declare that it is ok to use tactics boosters, especially when you are outnumbered. Now take them out in the open rather than hiding behind buildings, in alleys, and in elevators. When you feel the need to use them in private, that indicates you have a problem. I think the poor guy didn't realize he didn't have a chance to kill me regardless, as I still would have outrolled him without the booster, but the weak usually have to justify their loses. If you are against boosters, then you should be against buffs, self buffs, and clothing buffs. In fact, you should fight naked/awakened. I like how the guy said he would join forsaken just so he could get a rez, and then he instantly jumped away. I like the last comment he said to me, he says I should look up the big word I like to use, I still have yet to figure out what 'big word' I used, then says it's cool to use the very thing he was complaining about. Next, he says if I can't take jive (for real though, who says that anymore), I should uninstall the game. Then, he puts me on ignore and leaves the area, indicating that HE is the one that couldn't take a little 'jive'. He finished off by saying, hate the game not the player, which would flow better if he used the proper expression, which is, "Don't hate the player, hate the game." Another person making zion look bad. The point of the story is... I dunno, complain to somebody other than me... And no, swif7 was not the person.

Same Game, New Rules. Several Redpills have been contacted already by TheDirector. They and only they know who they are to target. We all will find out together as one target after another falls. To the contestants. Your fighting for your life, be aware because you never know who is looking for you. When you accomplish one of your assigned objectives, post here as soon as possible with a screenshot and timestamp. The first person to post will be counted, regardless of timestamp (as long it is after the date/time of this post). The Prize is your life and 10million info. Bonus info may be awarded for especially brutual, stylistic, controversial, or otherwise distinguished kills. Any questions? Email, PM or post 'em. May the most twisted MoFo win. Also: there is a new player in The Hunt saga that has arrived and given me a special assignment. I ask myself, do I really want to work for someone who has his hired hands take out his longtime employees? You guys think I can trust this dude?

Back before you had a chance to miss me?
Ok, I have a little build I use from time to time that I use to run missions with lowbies, It cons as hacker, and has some essential patcher abilities I use; the drawback to this build is it's low VT. Anyway, I come across a level 45 amidst the mission gringing, and I cast a few half-hearted hacks at him, expecting him to simply jump away. He doesn't immeidiatly run, and as I hack him, he deflects one of my hacks. He proceeds to jump away shortly before he dies, he comes back nearly dies again, then leaves for good. Minutes later, this lovely interchange takes place....

Now, around this time, I accidently put the poor guy on ignore before finishing our conversation... I think this really upset him because he got worse. He got quiet, I asked him if he brain hurt, and then he actually started making less sense. Then he put me on ignore. Now I figured him for a follower and not a leader, so I predicted he would think I ignored him on purpose and he would do the same thing I did, and remove me from ignore, and that's exactly what he did. So, since it obviously bothered him the first time I ignored him, I did it again... for good this time.

Of course, I goaded him on because that's the kind of mood I was in from all the mission grinding, but really, this guys heart rate and blood pressure probably went up, and he was probably genuinely trying to find a way to 'get at' me, but he couldn't. Why? Because I've been through enough in life to not be bothered by some 14 year-old e-gangsta who is typing on his pc with pictures of Hilary Duff behind it. If any negativity from this game ever bleeds over into my real life, I will immediately cancel my account, pull out my Atari, and play Combat and Asteroids.
What's the point here? This kind of behavior has no place in a game. Makes me concerned that some of the folks who behave this way under the cloak of the internet live and work right next to us.... Maybe I should practice my real life knife throwing skills...

I'm hyper-jumping in the vicinity of the Tabor East hardline and I see a lvl 50 ability coder coding on a roof. I was going to just keep moving as I was in the process of doing something, but I noticed he had no shield... WHAT?!?!
Now I'm a Karate master, and I know once I lock him he's just gonna roll out, but that's ok because my objective is not to kill him, but to remind him that he 1) Shouldn't code in richland 2) Shouldn't code with out his shield 3) Shouldn't code without ancillary abilities loaded. If I wanted to kill him I would have loaded just about anything but MA...
So I interlock him, he rolls out and jumps, I catch him interlock him again and again. When he realizes I'm not going to let up and he's almost dead he hardlines out... then, minutes later.. the real fun starts...

This guy wavers between sounding like an idiot and then sounding like an idiot trying to sound intelligent. Perhaps he underestimated my abilities in a battle of words. I guess he didn't have his mental 'oofensive' abilities loaded either. "Jokerz u r jokes, clownz" You kidding me bro? That's not original, creative, or funny for that matter. But he sure taught me a 'leson'... Riiiiiiight...
The funny part is that he puts me on ignore right after he says something so he can tell himself he had the last word.
Bottom line: Don't code out in the open in Richland. Protect yourself while coding, and if you don't, don't be mad if someone attacks/kills you. If you think for one second you can't handle getting a smart-assed reply sent right back at you, you shouldn't send that first hate tell.
Prediction: I'll kill him at some point and he'll complain about the tree I used to kill him. *sigh* A Ganker's job is never done.
- This message has been brought to you by McGanck (Mega City Gentlemen Against Non-safe Coding Kids)
Maybe I should start some PSA's about safe coding with billboards around Mega City. They'll feature young people saying that they only code for someone they know and they always use protection.

I kill someone as a hacker, they complain.
I kill someone as a knifer, they complain.
Rifleman? They complain.
FM/UGM? They complain.
Assassin? They complain.
MA? You guessed it. "Sidekick combo rolls too high!"
Duelist? "duelist! you noob, omg stunzz!"
I even had some level 50 complain saying I used too many special abilities... WHAT?!?!
I've had people complain for me using SMG's to kill them. How do you get mad about that? The abilities have entirely too close ranges and *CENSORED* IS costs. I should get a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie for killing a 50 knifer with SMGs. What are you gonna say? "30second root is overpowered OMG HAX!"
In reality, every tree has it's strengths and weaknesses. Some trees are strong against others, and weak against others. Stop complaining about trees. A lot of times it's about being in the right place at the right time. If you're a hacker with your back turned and your shield down, and i'm an assassin... it's a wrap. If I'm a concealed sniper and your an MA, it' might take a while but i'll probably get ya.
I was in mara as an assassin and this level 50 kung fu master attacked me, trying to break my bubble. Something bad happened to him. He tried to run, but he stopped, thinking he was safe, I found him, and finished him off. Then, TEH HATE TELLZZZ!!!!11111one!!!

The thing is, people will complain about whatever kills them. If I killed him as a proxy tech, he'd complain about that. If I was buffed he'd complain about that. My thing is, he saw I was an assassin before he attacked me. If he knows how overpowered the abilities are, why attack? That's like people who attack a group of people then complain about being zerged. Doesn't make sense. I understand if he doesn't like the ability, but what do you think complaining to me will accomplish? I'm not going to stop using it. Just send a ccr to customer care to express your concerns. This is just a veiled attempt to justify being killed. I wish we had the mortal kombat voice-overs saying "PERFECT" when you kill someone without taking any damage. And, I think I'd like to see it where you can't talk after dying, and there is no recon button. You just lay there for 10 minutes contemplating how you got killed... heh, that'd probably cause a lot of these folks to hurt themselves in real life...

This one is good for a chuckle...
When Keeping it Real Ganking Goes Wrong.
I'm running missions w/ a lowbie friend, and some guy attacks the lowbie while i'm in the mission area, I come out and the guy goes to another floor. It's one of those buildings with two elevators facing one another, and while I'm in one elevator the guy comes back in the other elevator and finishes off the lowbie. Very clever. However, i'm able to interlock him at the same time he tries to flee to another floor, and he goes to another floor, but we're both stuck in interlock... I didn't see him die, but after a few rounds of interlock, I got a CQ. I bet he was screaming every flavor of obscenity at his computer and calling me an exploiter.
I rez my friend and I notice the guy left a follower in the first elevator...
So me being the evil ganker I am, I wait next to his follower for him to come back to I can kill him again just for being silly enough to bring baggage (a follower) along on a gank. Funny thing is after a few minutes, the follower disappears. Either he had to abort because he couldn't find his follower, or he didn't want to fight again, either way, he kept it real, but I kept it realer.

Dark sat in his chair swirling his glass and watching the dark liquor flow over the ice. His spirit was almost broken by the moderating of a recent installment of The Chronicles. The ice cracks and settles as if to signal an epiphany. "Some of these folks take themselves too seriously. Vector needs The Chronicles." Dark cracks his knuckles, sits up in his chair and gets to work....
A phenomena that I have yet to get my mind around... the lowbie threat. I've touched on this one before, but it still trips me out. This is when you kill a lowbie, and they scrunch up their cute little lowbie face and make the most menacing threat possible, but it just serves to make me chuckle. I guess they really think i'll fear them... heh. I'm sure this works on someone, because people usually make threats that would scare them if they were used against themselves. So, if i threatened this guy he'd probably wet himself. If you're gonna threaten someone, make sure it's someone who cares. Don't threaten a level 50 who ganked you as a level 39, because they probably don't care. Me? I look forward to a challenge in battle. Also, if you do get to 50 and you are trying to fulfill your threat, make sure you get right and come correct, because, if you don't you'll get clowned if your opponent remembers you, and you'll feel like an *CENSORED*, and there's nothing you can do or say to justify it that wont make you look like an even larger *CENSORED*. Finally, if you're gonna take the time to threaten someone in a game, make sure it's a good threat. Don't say "OMG U NOOB i'm gonna gank u when i get to 50." That's just gonna make me laugh.
Try these:
- When I hit level 50, I will hunt you down to the deepest regions of this "rabbit hole", and slaughter you with passion, and I will show you the insides of your own RSI, keeping you alive long enough for you to see your own digital heart stop beating.
- I will appear in every where you go until you lose all taste for battle. Then, I will abuse you in whatever dark alley you chose to hide in, and when your so scared that you wont even jack in , then I will haunt your nightmares.
- Quote almost any line from Samuel Jackson in Pulp Fiction, or just about any line from just about any Tarantino film.
- Enjoy your minor victory, for my wrath will revisit you tenfold, infidel.
- Damnit, you made me spill the blood I was drinking!
- The voices in my head have told me to bite my tongue and bide my time. We will meet again.
but, instead, this guy chose to say this...
Lucky for me, he has a memorable name... Message Edited by SableTheDarkWarrior on 11-24-2005 03:03 AM

This eternal darkness is a ganker's dream! Ganking from the shadows! I am the ganker of your destiny! Ganktastic! CQrific! Thanks devs!
[evil villian laughter]
It's exciting to be killed by or kill someone whom you can't even see. A nice little twist from the stun and hack, stun and knife, stun and gun, or whatever.
Anyway, would anyone else like to see the sky turn this dark every night? Maybe in the constructs too... or maybe an eternal night construct that's got undead folks running around... the possibilites are endless!!!!!

I'm back... by popular demand... for a limited time.
Ok, heres one for you, I'm missioning some of my lower level faction mates, they get attacked, the attackers run when i come thru. I catch up with a lvl 50 gunslinger, slaughter him, and a lvl 50 scattershot comes after me, he dies, recons, and i kill him again. Then a lvl 49 doc comes thru, i break his shield, he runs, and a lvl 43 MA or something comes thru, takes some shots and runs. The doc rezzes the scattershot and switches loadout to MA, and they all attack me. After an unnecessarily long battle, I die. It happens, and it's expected when your outnumbered, stunned, blinded and such. I say gf and get ready to recon. However, what shouldn't happen is this:
Unacceptable. I go back and try to 1v1 the scattershot, (who claims he was a coder when i killed him the first two times although his stats clearly said scattershot...) and yet again, the other two jump in. Poor me. I go back immediately, one more time, and they have completely left the area.... oh well... maybe i'll catch them one on one sometime, but they'll just run away i'm sure.
I say all that to say this. I realize no one likes to lose, but sometimes you just have to admit defeat. You can't be the best at everything. And if you are having such a poor life that you must make yourself feel better by "pwning" in a game, you need to turn off the computer, and go improve your life. Hit the gym, read a book, take a class at your local community college. :smileyhappy: You were beaten one on one, you say gf and recon. Come back if you wish, heck, bring your friends, but if you couldn't fight 1v1, you don't deserve to talk trash. Period. Talking trash after gang kills is like putting on a blindfold and shouting, "I am lord of all that I survey!" Oh, and teabaggin.... that is just stupid, and it speaks volumes about the person doing it... No one cares, and no one wants to see your screenshots of it.
It's a game, you're supposed to be having fun.
Gank on Vector!

I will judge on creativity and skill.
Verses must be kept forum friendly (watch the language).
Verses must be loosley MXO related (about the game, your character, your faction, The Matrix in general, etc)
NO BITING!
Have a sense of humor, this is just to pass time w/out flames until we get some area revamps and combat upgrades and such *cough* looks in direction of devs*cough*
have fun.

What would Neo be doing in MXO if he were jacked in?
Would he...
...stand in mara c buffing himself and his neighbors and giving cake to a character named trinnitdee, and giving dap to a character named moorfeeeyus?
...attack a machinist knowing that it could cause a swarm of sentinels to converge on zion?
...after attacking said machinist with a group of crewmates, would he vomit on their corpse, 't-bag', taunt, and shout "NOOB u got pwned!" "I'm teh one i could have killed u alone!"
...if bested by a rival operative scream out in his dying moments, "5 on 1, *CENSORED* gankers!!!, noob hackers, rez me pls pls lol *CENSORED* f ur mum, rez meh i' got code frags!!!!1111!!!"
...accuse other redpills of exploiting when they use skills, when his power is based on bending the rules of the system.
...slaughter Zionite fanatics who would jeopardize the truce?
...join zion?
...join the machines?
...join any org at all?
I'd like to think that in his last moments Neo saw the reality of the human situation. The earth is ruined by man's own hand, it may repair itself, but that may take a mighty long time. The truth is humans have been saved from their own destruction by the being that they themselves created. Now, as a matter of choice (which Neo often spoke of), humans can live in the glory of Matrix or in the destitution of the real. Isn't that the best way? Choice. Wouldn't he chose the way that would allow most people to be happy in following their own choices?

OK, is that dude that neo met in the train station in revolutions related to the assassin?
He was head of recycling in a power plant or something like that. Rama-Kandra was his name I believe.
And the assassin was a disposal program. Hmmm?
