Remember though, those applied bonuses only work on applied buffs, so if you don't use say hyper-dodge, you are not taking full advantage of the ballistic defense bonus, though you might think the defense with that buff from spystyle will be enough, also those bonuses are only good against a gunman and MA, they will do nothing to make you stronger against a hacker or another Spy in interlock. Also, you can only ever apply 1 title buff no matter how many possible choices you have, the other "title" buffs that you don't apply can only give passive bonuses from loading them.
Hmm, boy I've got a BIG learning curve ahead of me - lol

Agreed, Zudrag, I've not seen you succeed with that at DM with the right mix - you've been killed too.
Like TimeMaker said, I doubt you'll have it easy with a hacker and mkt's/ms's present.

I don't think there needs to be "catch up mode" like in children's multi-player car racing games.
If an experienced and confident player meets with two level 50's they have never heard of, the two level 50's are in a world of trouble. I don't believe in level cap of 50, equipment/experience/confidence can make a level 50 into a lvl 60.
With CR2 I have seen 2 win against 7, in CR1 I have seen 1 against 7 hold out for a very long time killing most of them. It's not the norm but it is within reach.
I agree 100%, and to add, communications is KEY!
I've seen a zerg; hell I even heard some say is the game on easy mode - lmao. That's because of NO organization and communication and lack of the right mix to counter opposition. Once organized, easy mode went away. Confidence and experience go a long way, but if you're not part of a group and communicating, you're supposed to lose.

PvP is fine the way it is - cept for the stupid smack talk; thank god for ignore.
No single individual should be able to systematically take on and kill more that 3 opponents, no matter how good they are in PvP. Then there's the zerg - well such is life. I've been zerged, but I've been part of a zerg too. I've seen some of the best die just the same as the rest, so I change strategies and even LO's.

I managed it not to long ago TM aikido plus thrown def FTW Agreed, the advantage of a super buffer is nullified when more than 3 AND the right mix (Hackers, MS's, MKT's) show up - strip'em, lock'em down, beat'em down FTW.

Just be wary of griefers/prowlers while you are farming - they'll pick you off while you're in IL and at half life. Aside from the MA, Guns, and MKT, make sure you have a MS and a Hacker with a build that *censor* the crap out of a prowler.
If the prowler gets ignored; which we used to do, he'll just pick you off 1 by 1 and farming will take longer. So farm and keep scanning - when you see the *censor* heads on scan, be rdy for them. When you farm Dernick - have a lvl 43-44 with you; let him/her take Dernick, you mop up the rest and always be on the lookout for prowlers. Hope that helps

Spy tree at it's finest.

Edit: sorry should of pointed out incase you didnt know that:
Master Assassin is based on Damage Master Knife Throw is based on Accaracy

To be honest its a personal prefference any good spy load will have atleast the 3 interlock knives and foot sweep from there its a preference if you want frankensteiner or punt. the only bonus Master assassin tree has over Master Shadow Tree is the paralysing throw which is a good knife to use as it gives a extra root chance if your cripling throw misses and also it can be used in interlock. other than that punt does about 100 damage more than frankensteiner. id stick with using the MKT buff tho as the extra dameg points Master assasin gives are rulled out by all the missed attacks due to lack of accuracy. some times its best to hit 75% of the time and cause 300 damage per hit than hit 40% of the time and hit 400 damage per hit.

Master Shadow is more of an 'Evading Combat' tree, most of the attacks are ones that require you to be in Sneak and will put you back in sneak after it has gone through. The title buff isn't a buff, it is an ability so your losing accuracy and damage and such there, your best off going with MKT (for accuracy) or Master Assassin (for damage). With the normal Punt/Staggering Throw/Suplex/Subduing Throw/Deadly Throw/Throat Cutting Throw combo with Disguise and you should be able to send testicles flying and fill them full of knifes before they realise they need to Reconstruct. ^_^
omg - still laughing at the visualization of that. Yep, I kinda noticed that MS is great on evade but disappointing on dmg. I really don't like the tree at all, however, the prowler I refer to, and I hate to admit, uses MS and does wicked damage; so maybe I need to mix MS and Assassin instead of MS/MKT. Any suggestions on tree build?

Hi guys, I've been playing MxO for a while, but I'm new to the spy tree. I'm currently using MKT and MS (Master Shadow); which I just started using at Data Mine to defend against other MS's that attack. I've spent a lot of $info leveling mkt and ms, and really don't want to spend any more to lvl Master Assassin so I'd figure to pose the question to Spy experts. Why would I choose Master Assassin over MKT? Is there a situation that calls for Master Assassin over MKT?

Yep, when I say MS, MS=Master Shadow.
I've never tried Master Assassin; I don't know why I would get Master Assassin over MKT. All I know is griefing is significantly reduced when predators/prowlers see MS's defending at DM (Data Mine).

This will depend on your actual loadout from various other trees and the buffs applied. If you apply the MS buff, you have less Accuracy but does MORE damage than if you apply the MKT buff. So if your finding that MKT does more damage, then it can only be due to the buffs you are applying. If you can, please list which ability you are using with which buffs. Are you comparing different abilites from each tree? Which mobs/players are you comparing the damage to? I'm loading all cept bulldog and disable security - due to a lack of attacks I also load neuro dart, detect weakness, and crippling throw from mkt tree.

ok - will the initial hack attack go through shield, or will the shield need to be down first?
All hacks are designed to be mostly OOIL, infact you will notice that the debuffs all have to be applied OOIL and can't be cast inside, so shield on/off makes no difference. Buffer overflow is good, but your better off having a hacker cast powerless = no ability can be used during that time, which means no MS, but no jumping away when they release they can't cast it. You only ever need to take down a shield to execute IL attacks. ok - bear with me because I'm new to this. That answer brings up another question - IF MS goes up, will same approach work? Cos the MS I'm referring to attacks and MS remains up and I'm told MS buff is supposed to go away when MS attacks.

Hi guys, I've recently tried MKT; which takes a little getting used to and I find does great damage. So I decided to try MS, and I find that the damage is considerably less, so here are my questions: 1) Are the stats for MKT amd MS the same (Perception/Reason)? 2) If stats are the same, why do I do less dmg with MS? The above is with same gear

Little known fact, Master Shadow is a buff that is applied to the user, much like Hyper-Speed. Because of that trait, it uses up Buffer space.
If you have a friend or if you're loaded for Hacker, load Buffer Overflow 2.0 and cast it on them after a root. No matter how hard they try, they will not be able to cast Master Shadow on themselves because their buffer is maxed.
Ty Mave for your input, but I need to be sure - Can the root be applied right away (sry, never hacked before) or after shield is down? Will a root take hold with shield up?

Hi all, I need help against MS - I've read the other posts and they say it's to get away; however, I've seen a player use MS, attack us in Data Mine, and get this, ALL his attacks connect and NONE of our attacks or IL attempts succeed. What's unbelievable is that the evade appears never to go away. How can a MS be stopped? On one of my encounters a MS showed up, attacked, evade never went away from what I saw, and no IL attempt was successful. Guys, there were 10 of us and one of them. I don't mind getting killed when IL'ed with Raeder - It's PvP; however, when we focus on the MS, we should be able to take him down; against one, two or even three, BUT against 10 -c'mon! I was told to get powerless/stun on them, but you can't because you can't connect to begin with - very, very, frustrating! Can anyone provide input? Especially about attacking with evade up the whole time. Thanks in advance

Ty ZeroTolerance, Sphairo, SuperStarX, and Marias, Zero - For your time and patience on clearing things up. Sphairo - For providing a base number; that really helps in clarifying how much thrown res I should have. (On a side note Sphairo - I've seen you on Mara C engaged in PvP; lol, You vs many) SuperStarX - For making me aware of the color of the cross-hair; I was completley unaware of it. Ill begin to check now that I am aware. Marias - For providing a Loadout/outfit and feign. I stil need to code sniper and get the Halsey sniper rifle. I do have the Expert rifle tree coded but haven't used it much, and the one time I did I used steady aim and the IS drain was a big turn off.

The root thing is pretty important i find in a duel. It basically puts things as a stalemate and may delay enough time for you to put your shield back up. They won't want to attack you or they will break the root. You just have to remember not to attack them either. If you can't root them and they have you rooted and shield down switch to block cause the punt or suplex is coming. The thrown hyper is important too. Also anything you can do to interrupt the MKT's inital combo is a good thing.
Additionally you can try using the concealment countermeasures tool now that it supposedly works. I haven't tested it myself though.
Ty Hanzyl - experience just spoke - lol. It's as though you were there to witness. Yep, I was rooted and I attacked without bringing up shield 1st, and a punt followed.
So the next thing is interruptions - what/how? Ionwind

Hi, Thanks for your input, all of you - I was referring to Duel with a MKT - PvP is just crazy and anything can happen from one moment to the next - lol. Aquatium, you are correct, I try to cause a state first; and in the process was unaware that I have moves that don't require a state. Also, my stats are: Focus/Perception = 30, with remaining in Vitality. The question now is, am I setting my stats correctly. Vitality is awesome; all I know is I flow much smoother and get more specials in. Yasamuu1, Hanzyl and Gretyl, thanks for the dropping the shield trick and Tenshi, for the input on clothes. I have an area K, Widows moor and cap;but I'm finding that the dueling is slowly breaking them. I can always get another area k, but I don't think the widows stuff is replacable. So I'm working on getting clothes that can be replaced. Harpadzo (Ionwind in Syntax server)

Hi, I'm new to PvP, and I love it. I'm a Duelist and I'm having problems with MKT's. Can any of you Master Duelists provide any tips/strategies. I'm getting rooted and I need states to do my specials, while MKT's don't. I do nice damage, but by the time I get going it's too late. I guess knowing what to attempt 1st would be a good start. Thanks in advance

Hi Blank Frank, I was able to replace my router for $80. If you can't replace, I suggested you make certain your routers firmware is up to date. I had a really old Linksys Wireless router and I chose to have a newer, latest greatest router. Umm, and regarding phi's post - simple; NOT a routing issue, because my network has a single point of entry, meaning, I only have one router. The chipset in my router could not keep up with the data through put. When I replaced with the new router, problem was flatlined. Hope that helps.

Hi all, I struggled for 2 weeks with this error. It was pretty difficult to find, but I'll spare you the long details. It was my router. I had an old Linksys BEFW11S4 v2 on my Network which gave me this error (Login rejected shutting down) every 15-20 minutes. I got a tip from this forum and in-game support to bypass the router and go direct to DSL modem. It hadn't occured to me because I play other MMO's and didn't have this problem- so that's what made it hard for me. So I bought a new NetGear Max Range wireless router (WPN824) and voila - NO MORE CRASHES!! Check/replace old router. Hope this insight helps the rest of the community experiencing this same issue. Regards, See you in-game (Syntax - Ionwind)
