For anyone who's watched it, what do you think? This is probably the best TV show since Sopranos went off the air, intriguing storyline, but maybe not as tastefully done as Sopranos or Six Feet Under, but right up there. Maybe with the actors delving more into their characters and gaining confidence with time, we'll be able to see better performances. Most people I know who have watched an episode are getting hooked on the show. I think the setting in the rural deep south is perfect, louisiana is known to be kind of off beat and full of mysticism. If it took place in New York, San Francisco, or a big metropolitian city, the show just wouldn't have had that charm and would've fallen into the trappings of lame vampire cliches. ###Spoilers for those who haven't seen the finale### So who do you think was in Andy's car? Was it the dead body of Lafayette? Do you think Lafayette was the one drained by Bill? I'd hate to think they killed off Lafayette, the character was hilarious and a bright spot among all the serious faces. Maybe Bill felt guilty afterwards, feeding on a friend of Sookie's and turned Lafayette into a vampire? That way he can help Bill put that new whiny vampire chick in check. And why do you think Sam is emptying his safe? Running from Mary Ann? Who is the lady helping Tara? Is she a shape shifter as well? I think she might be either a shape shifter who is a former lover or relative of Sam's or maybe a witch? I was surprised the killer turned out to be Renae. I didn't suspect him until seeing the fax at the end of the 11th episode, but thought the clue was too obvious, and figured he was in town hunting down the killer of his sister, taking a fake identity to find out who the killer was. I'm a bit disappointed in seeing Jason Stackhouse becoming a born again evangelist, I thought they could have made him into a hippie or something more edgy. If you've read the novel, please refrain from posting spoilers, thanks.

General Petraeus is heading to Capital Hill and giving an assessment on the progress in Iraq. Unfortunately he'll be linking Iran fighting a proxy war with the US through the Iraq theatre. Iran will be pictured as being responsible for the Shia militias who are in battles with the US backed Maliki forces. Maliki was the one who launched the ill advised offensive to secure his party's position before local elections to be held soon. I expect the media outlets using the same slogans of "proxy war" and linking Iran to the instability in Iraq. Democrats and Republicans in Congress will swarm around the Bush Administration in supporting an attack on Iran. Why? Democrat and Republican Senators and Reps have profited near $200 million from their investments in defense companies, eager to hand out more war contracts.

We're entering within the next two years into a long cold cycle for the Earth. This is due to how the Sun is changing. I'm not debunking the Global Warming theory, I do believe gas emissions and human pollutants/consumption has played its part in the warming of temperatures the last couple decades. But the Sun has always played a bigger role in how the Earth enters a warm period.... and an Ice Age. Not saying we're entering an Ice Age, we're just entering into an extended period of cold climate. NASA has just released its report on the Sun spots and how that's going to affect our climate.

Again, I didn't mean to imply anything about you Night, and this is just an opinion. The only thing I ask is that you refrain from name calling, and attack my opinions with constructive criticism. I don't form my opinions and thoughts by what I read from someone else's post on the internet. Like you, I enjoyed reading about military history and tactics before. My stances come from reading foreign policy briefs, think tank analysis, and comparing US and foreign news. Of course I always filter the information I take in, not going to be a sheeple and just follow what someone else says. I'm not making any Nostradamus esque predictions, this is just a perceived danger, and an opinion.

A conspiracy nutjob? This is just an opinion I'm forming based on conclusions I'm drawing from actual facts. So everyone is called a conspiracy nutjob when we're trying to alert others of the possibility of another misguided war? First, yes I know almost all destroyers have Aegis, and I know the functionality of what an Aegis system does. We've sold outdated ships to Taiwan equipped with Aegis a few yrs ago and Beijing had a fit. My point was that the US Navy has repositioned destroyers in the MEDITERRANEAN SEA, not the PERSIAN GULF. We have far more US Naval presence in the PERSIAN GULF than just a couple destroyers armed with the Aegis system. And if you want me to be more specific, the two destroyers in the MEDITERRANEAN SEA are the USS Ross and the USS Philippine Sea. Please read what I've written before misquoting me next time. I never stated that having US destroyers in the Gulf with Aegis was provoking Iran, those ships are off the coast of Lebanon and Syria, and clearly are antagonizing Iran's allies. An Aegis system is not outdated in that region of the world, again it serves to protect our allies in the region from incoming missile attacks. In addition, my conclusions are NOT solely based on the destroyers having an Aegis system redeployed in the MEDITERRANEAN, but many other factors in addition to that. Interesting that you've brought up the Gulf of Tonkin. During the past few years, more classified information about the incident has now been declassified, and a general consensus is that Lyndon Johnson lied to Congress and coerced the US into an escalation in Vietnam. Same happened with the Spanish American War in the late 1890's. Brilliant analogy Night.

lol @ Conspiracy
Some talking points: -Recent beefing up of US Navy presence in the Mediterranean. US Destroyers equipped with Aegis are off the coast of Lebanon and Syria. -The Destroyers are probably intended to shield our ally Israel from missile attacks from Iran/Syria in retaliation of a possible joint US/Israel strike on Iran. -Possible scenarios: *Pearl Harbor like surprise attack by either a joint US/Israel strike or solely by the US. *Provoking Iran into attacking our US ships in the Persian Gulf, probably at the Strait of Hormuz. -If an attack occurred, there will be no debate, no US Secretary of State going to the UN Security Council to ask permission, no vote of approval by the public. The President will give the order, and 12 hrs later our bombers will drop their payload on Iran.

Complete media blackout. Why is the media failing to report of an imminent attack on Iran? Red flags are raised, the alarm bells are ringing. First, we have *CENSORED* Cheney making the rounds in the Middle East, in the guise of rallying peace in the region. The trip serves one purpose, to assess the support of US allies in the region. McCain has even toured the region recently, rallying up support for the war cause. Bush made the visit earlier this year. Admiral Fallon has resigned his post as head of Cent Com. Fallon has been outspoken in his views against an attack on Iran. He has either resigned in protest, knowing the imminent attack is unavoidable, or pushed out by the administration to clear all obstacles. Chief of Russia's general staff, Yuri Baluyevsky, said last November that Russia was beefing up it's military in response to US aggression. Russian Colonel General Leonid Ivashov has said that the Pentagon is planning a massive air strike on Iran. Saudi Arabia, after Cheney's visit, has begun preparing national plans to deal with nuclear and radioactive hazards in the aftermath of a perceived US attack on Iran's Bushehr reactor. The recent crackdown on Shiite militas by the US backed Iraqi leadership under Maliki seems to aim at crushing factions that Iran might support to cause chaos for US troops in Iraq after the attack on Iran. Seymour Hersh is one of the few journalist that has exposed the ongoing planning by the Bush Administration, Neocons, and Pentagon of drawing up war plans for Iran. The tolls from the Iraq War is already 4,000 brave US soldiers dead, tens of thousands wounded, and probably hundreds of thousands having serious health problems in the years to come from exposure to depleted uranium. An estimated 1 million Iraqi deaths are attributed to the War. If war breaks out with Iran, expect a high increase in US casualty, and high collateral damage, unimaginable civilian carnage. What should the sleeping citizens of America do? Demand impeachment hearings of Bush and Cheney from your local Congressman. If impeached, hand them over to the Nuremberg Courts. Of course this will never be allowed. Pay our troops real wages, stop giving it to private military contractors with six figure salaries, give that money to our troops as bonuses.

Okay, so I got a response from a senior Mod, and told me he didn't know why this thread was removed, there wasn't enough cause in his view and he sent me a PM with my original post to repost it. The only reason I'm reposting is because I believe individual views should not be infringed upon, healthy debate and discussions are important to a progressive society. While the majority of the replies were civil, a few were on the verge of flame baiting. Please, let's keep the name calling to a minimum. Heated arguments are great, but don't attack the integrity of the individual, attack his argument.
Hi everyone, a little rant by me.
This is going to be a turbulent year for the good ole US of A, effectively having a ripple effect throughout much of the world. Issues I would like to address is the souring economy, the Surge in Iraq and the farce of the 2008 Presidential Election. The warning signs have been present for the last few years. I’ve been saying since 2005 when crude oil was around $50-60 that within a couple of years it might skyrocket to $120. Everyone thought those figures were extremely high, since crude was at an all time high at around $50 and seen to be at its peak. Don’t be surprised to see crude reach $200 by 2010, especially if there’s another major conflict in the Middle East, or China and India increases their demand exponentially. But crude could also very likely begin to drop to a more reasonable $70-80 a barrel by the end of 2008, start of 2009. I’m more worried about the potential spikes. Eventually, I believe crude oil is going to be very cheap within 1-2 decades. As alternative energy goes from development to being introduced on the market, demand should start to decrease, especially in the US. The hope is for China and India to follow suit and after stabilizing their economies and growth, begin to promote either alternative energy or nuclear energy. While the world will still use crude oil in some forms of energy production during the next 50-100 yrs, demand should decrease within the next decade or two, causing a dramatic decline in the price. I’m beginning to see why OPEC countries, in partnership with the oil consortium companies, are refusing to increase oil production to alleviate the high crude prices. They realize oil’s use as a form of energy is in its final stages, and the commodity won’t be seen as valuable in the near future. These countries and companies are trying to squeeze out every dollar they can, manipulating the price of oil, blaming it on a weak dollar and the increase in demand from China and India. Look at the huge profits being raked in by consortiums like Unocal, BP, Shell, and Exxon. Best way to describe it is if someone sees the end coming, and they’re trying to make as much as they can and cash out before the bubble goes bust. Oil price is completely manipulated, just like diamonds. De Beers controls 2/3 of the diamond cartel in the world, and the extortionate price of diamonds is completely artificial because of the controlled quantity produced annually. If diamonds were mined on a large scale, they would still be valuable, just not extortionately expensive, and deterring the incentive of rogue countries/rebels to force people to mine for Blood Diamonds in order to maintain their power. The production of Oil is controlled by OPEC, the only competitor might be Russia, but they barely make a dent. Prices are artificial just like diamonds. The rise in Crude Oil has been partially responsible for the rapid rise in real consumer goods prices, rapid inflation is a real danger over the next couple of years. Inflation devalues individual savings, and also reduces real wages. Do you think companies, in a recession, are going to generously give their employees pay raises to keep up with inflation? What about the gov’t increasing Social Security to keep up with inflation? Real income is actually going to go down over the next couple of years. Still boggles my mind how the Bush Administration is still in denial of a recession in the US. Why is the media even still debating if we’re in a recession while most financial analyst realize we are in a recession? Forget about the recession, we should be worried about a looming Depression at the end of this summer. Gas prices at the pump is at $3.70-$3.80 in the San Francisco Area. Many analyst are projecting a target price of $4 when the peak summer driving season hits, and that’s a national average of $4, which means people in SF are going to be hit up for $4.50-$4.70 a gallon! Still don’t believe a Depression is looming? What did the FED just do? They pumped over $200 billion into the housing mess. Yeah, I wonder where they’ll get the $200 billion. Normally when the FED bails out an industry or gov’t spending, they print more money out of thin air. Since the FED dollar is a fiat based currency, backed by absolutely nothing, the FED can print as much funny money as they’d like and devalue the dollar even further. What happens when the dollar plummets even further? Crude Oil prices rise. People need to realize that there’s a correlation between rising oil prices as the dollar slides. While the euro rises against the dollar, and oil prices rise, it’s funny how prices at the pump haven’t risen as much exponentially in Europe as it has in the US over the past few years. The US has been able to maintain a huge debt, and incur a big annual deficit since the Reagan years without defaulting on our loans. How? Look up the Petro Dollar. It pretty much explains why countries around the world are forced to buy up huge reserves in US FED dollar, and actually buy US Bonds to support our debt. It’s not because the US dollar is a stable currency, but the fact that countries have to buy the dollar in order to purchase oil from OPEC. During the Nixon administration in the early 1970s, there was an agreement reached with OPEC nations, they would only accept US currency when they sold their oil on the market. The only two oil bourse markets in the world until recently were in New York and London, and they only accept US dollar for trading. The dollar was kept strong because countries were forced to buy into it in order to purchase oil, and US defaults on loans were avoided because countries were buying up US bonds (debt). I don’t even want to get into how the FED operates, it’ll take the length of a graduate thesis to explain that. The US has delayed this looming crisis over the years, we’ve seen a couple bubbles go bust, the Tech Bubble of 2000-2001, and now the Housing Bubble. In 2005, I’ve warned of a stagnate housing market for ’06. In the summer of 2006, I warned about a little something called the looming Sub Prime Mortgage Crisis, although I didn’t know much about it myself except for the few financial reports that was available. The foreclosures these next couple of years is going to drastically shape the psyche of the US population, people are going to feel defeated seeing the banks take their homes away, and for the most part not to a fault of their own but because of the greed from mortgage lenders. Giving home loans to unqualified borrowers, repackaging it for wholesale, making their commissions, and now the banks are extortionately raising the interest rate on some of the current sub prime borrowers, knowing some will still be able to pay until they foreclose themselves. The mortgage firms are just trying to make as much of the worthless greenback before the whole housing market collapses and people begin to hand their property back to the banks. Again, a…. Mild Depression in late ’08. The Surge in Iraq. Success? A complete FAILURE! Let’s look at the intentions and goals of the Surge laid out by the Bush Administration. -Temporary increase in combat troops. -Stabilize the country. -Begin withdrawal of troops to pre Surge level. -With stability, start the process of reducing the troop levels incrementally. Amazing how McCain and Bush are hailing the Surge as a success when the initial goals have not been close to being remotely reached. Even more amazing is how the Democrats (Peace Party?) has refused to attack this glaring indiscrepency. Has the troop numbers been decreased to Pre Surge levels? No. Has there been a decrease in US combat casualties and civilian casualties? Yes. Is the current violence in Iraq less than under Saddam Hussein’s regime or during the first year of the War? No. Is Iraq close to being stabilized? Not even close. A better term to replace the Surge would be Escalation. Just like in Vietnam, at the start of the Iraq war this was only suppose to be temporary. Just like in Vietnam, we’ve divided the country into two… wait, three zones (Sunni, Shiite, Kurds). Remember how the Johnson administration and the US media was spewing the positive progress in Vietnam in 1967? Remember what happened in 1968? A little military campaign called the Tet Offensive, which signaled our doom in that war. I know many have dismissed the Vietnam comparisons, but just because this is a different terrain doesn’t mean the same fundamental tactics can’t be used against us by our enemies. Currently, the Administration is patting themselves on the back, trumpeting the success of the Surge, and the so called “Awakening” of the Sunni Muslims in Iraq. The plan laid out by the Saddam/Baathist gov’t before the US Invasion was to prolong the conflict, fighting an unconventional war, and win by attrition. Does this sound familiar to Vietnam? Bush/Neocons are convinced the country is stabilized since the “Awakening” of the Sunnis, and their willingness to help the US forces in going after Al Qaeda in Iraq. Al Qaeda in Iraq was welcomed and partially funded by the Baathist insurgents to distract the US forces. We’re now currently training and arming the Sunnis. The Baathist insurgents since the first days of the Invasion have infiltrated and become embedded among the Shiite leadership, including Al Sadr’s militia. The Sunnis are not going to work in any sort of coalition gov’t with an Iranian backed Shiite leadership, this is a façade the Sunnis are putting on. The situation in Iraq is probably going to explode by this Summer. Imagine if the US had armed and trained the Viet Cons before the Tet Offensive. Things might get extremely worse if the Bush Administration attacks Iran. Provocation with Iran seems almost inevitable, the Neocons have hungered for war with the Persians. There’s been reports of many senior Generals and Admirals threatening to resign if this Administration goes to war with Iran. The Pentagon was formerly divided under Rumsfeld, with civilian war hawks arguing and belittling Generals and Admirals for their more sensible approach to war. Gates may have temporarily stabilized the situation in the Pentagon, but as war approaches with Iran, there will be dissent among the Generals and Admirals, and we may launch another War without the brains to plan the logistics. Recently, the resignation of Admiral Fallon is a disturbing sign that war is very near. Either Fallon resigned in protest knowing the Administration is planning to launch strikes in Spring or Summer, or he’s being forced out by the Administration and replaced with someone who is more willing to be a parrot for the Administration as it finalizes its war plans. Since the trend of conservative gov’t coming to power in Europe, like France and Germany, the likelihood of broad based European support for a US lead attack on Iran is likely. In essence, I still believe most European governments openly criticize the US for the World to see, but the US is fighting a war for the stabilization of oil that Europe needs more than the US. Does Europe have oil reserves? The US has recently discovered a reserve encompassing North Dakota, Montana, and S Dakota would could increase the domestic reserves by up to 10x. The US may just be the muscle for “Western” colonialism, but in the guise of American aggression, of course no facts to back this claim up, just an opinion. We have to go back to the Petro Dollar in order to understand why Iran is a target. Until 2002, the US Dollar was the sole currency used in trading for Crude Oil. Iraq began selling some of its oil for Euros in 2002. Next year, it was invaded. The Gulf Arab OPEC nations have discussed the possibility of taking other forms of currency as payment for their oil. Iran has opened a new oil bourse market this year, which has been in the planning for many years now, and is accepting other forms of currency other than the US Dollar as payment. If we attack, imagine the instability it will cause across the whole Middle East, and the ripple effect around the world as the Strait of Hormuz is blocked and Mid East oil is unable to easily reach the world. The 2008 US Presidential Election. Our choices: John McCain (Manchurian Candidate), Hillary Clinton (prolific liar, power hungry, and a criminal), Barack Obama (a disturbing support from his Cult of Personality). McCain would be a third Bush term, even advocating 100 years of troop presence in Iraq. People should realize that Obama and Cllinton aren’t the Peace candidates either. Though they are criticizing the current policy in Iraq, they both realize that there’s been huge military bases built in that country with the full intention of being permanent. The US Embassy in Baghdad will be the largest embassy in the world. Obama and Clinton have advocated actions be taken against Iran. Obama has sought a continuation of the War on Terrorism to Pakistan and increased presence in Afghanistan. As we’ve seen lately, both Obama and Clinton offer plenty of rhetoric, no substance. They engage in smearing each other’s credentials with personal attacks, not talking about the issues affecting our country, no solutions being offered, or stating any platform to run on. Obama and Clinton may try to reach out to the blue collar workers and Ohio and Pennsylvania, “understanding” their difficulties and struggles, promising to do as much as they can to help relieve their problems when they get into the White House, but neither has told what solutions they have to rectify what’s plaguing America. Obama and Universal Health Care? How? Clinton as her medical plan to have everyone covered, how? She wants to force everyone to buy medical insurance, and penalize those that don’t by deducting from their taxes. How about offering Federal medical coverage for those in need and can’t buy medical insurance? Clinton is vague with her health care plan only stating it would cost over $110 billion, no explanations for the cost, not even having a working paper to present. We’re suppose to blindly believe in the promises Obama, Clinton and McCain offer. More broken promises. Real choice is taken away from the population, we have been given hand picked candidates to choose from, none of them offering real change, just the same old rhetoric politicians use to get elected. Why isn’t there a 3rd party in the US political system? Hell, why isn’t there a 2nd party? The US is ruled by a 1 party system, with 2 competing factions. It is not a democracy, but a polyarchy. Because of the horrendous acts of a bunch of brainwashed religious zealots on September 11th, 2001, the US Empire is once again able to use a catastrophic event as an excuse to expand, the New Pearl Harbor of the 21st Century.

I think Eliot Spietzer is a hypocrite. The guy is known to wear his badge of integrity proudly on his chest, and fast to criticize others who aren't up to his standards (thank goodness many aren't close to his standards). This is one of the few moments when I can say that I'm soooooo proud of my Governator! Arnold, you rock! Anyways, back to the *CENSORED* in question. I'm not going to be too judgmental and point fingers on how he's such a naughty boy. What bothers me is his arrogance, like many politicians, who think they are above the law and have a warped view on reality. They live a double life, one of illusion and the other of self delusion. Clearly, in this case, the girl was not a victim, she's a high priced courtesan who's gonna make her $$$ during her Warhol's 15 minutes of fame. But in so many other circumstances, these girls are victimized, forced to underground brothels where they aren't allowed to leave and forced to service some of the filthiest people on earth. Also, what I suspect the FBI is investigating is not just if he slept with a prostitute and paid for the service. Think about this scenario: A Governor of NY frequents a high priced brothel. The owner of said brothel gives the Governor "special" rates, in return for favors. The Governor pressures the local police chief/commissioner to lay off of a particular brothel, special treatment. Tell me if this doesn't sound like racketeering and money laundering. BTW, my newest friend on Facebook is Ashley Dupre, lol. Gonna ask her a few questions, then take her off my friend's list before some of my uber feminist friends start bashing me, hehe.

I know, that's why ppl should post and say if they like the idea for Smith coming back, or don't like that idea and would prefer a new theme. We are the community, and we should be able to shape the product we purchase and pay for.

Let's pitch some ideas to the DEVs before everything becomes formalized.
My ideas: Have a new concept different from last years. 1st yr was the Sleepwalkers, 2nd year was the Smith Virus. How about something that ties to the Intruder, but doesn't have to affect the official storyline like last yrs, or better yet it does affect the storyline. -the spawns could be Intruder clones, lvl specific to who they're being spawned on. -Reward items could be an Accelerated Pill, having buffs similar to the Smith Pill. -Oracle Anniversary cookies could be an option again -I don't think the Shirts with the same words from the 2nd Anniversary should be a reward option this yr, it was special for the 2nd Anniversary, just like how the Blue Sky gear and Security Gear was specific for the 1st Anniversary and was never given out again. -Rarebit and 9mmfu could jack in as the 2 Intruders, Halborn and Carlyne. -Maybe a mission with a reward, like the 1st Anniversary where a mission was available for 1 of the Security Gear. Or maybe just a fun Critical Mission for the Anniversary.

I enjoyed last years Anniversary Event, but to rehash it this year would be a big disappointment. The 1st Anniversary Event was pretty fun, not so much the concerts, more the Live Event where DEVs jacked in as characters, there was a chase, kill, etc. I'm also sure many creative players enjoyed making their videos for the concert. As far as storyline goes, I agree the Cypherite story is dead, and bringing back the Sleepwalkers would not be a good idea. Plus, we're... I mean the Sleepwalkers have long been defeated. My wish would be a return to the 1st Anniversary Event, more of a Live Event on the last couple days, or 1st and last days, with spwns to kill for items to trade in to fetch rewards. I don't think we should bring back the shirts from the 2nd Anniversary Event, it should be a special item pertaining to that Event, just like the Blue Sky items not being brought back the year after.

Any long-term method of making more $info than there was previously will inflate the economy eventually, that's inevitable.
Atem's probably on the money that it has to be more like around x3 base to remove serious inflation threat. At that rate, there's still incentive to try it solo (you can make x3 times the cash that you can missioning or tapping in the high level areas of DT), and even when you take a guard in with you, you still come out ahead, since you're both up for 150% payoff for time invested--if you're good at avoiding ganks.
That's probably what I'll end up going with, although if I do, then I'd put the say two "super taps" at x3, instead of just x2. That way, there's always the chance that if you go in there, you can make x9 for a while, but since it's limited to just a few people at a time (and possibly under heavy fire), that should put a pretty effective bottleneck on its damage to the overall economy.
One thing that I think is interesting about this FFA mining thing is that it actually benefits those who play in low-population hours more than those who play during US prime-time, since there's less competition for the area.
And there will be several more reasons to want to go in there besides the node tapping, at least...hmm...at least one of which should be along for update 59.
I'm not too worried about people making x10 for 3 more weeks (until the Anniversary Event update). It will create a bit of an economic "bubble," but that'll work its way out of the system after a little time goes by.
Rare, ya hit it right on the "money." I think leaving the info at 10x until the Anniversary will be fine, sure there'll be a bubble, but like all bubbles (ie, tech bubble, real estate bubbles in RL) they burst and values will become normalized over time. I love the fact everyone is becoming an economic analyst in Mega City, lol. As long as there'll be no more than 2 Super Taps on each server, the 9x rate will be a great incentive for people to mine, and the "hunters" will be happy seeing that shining rabbit run around. I'm excited when Rare makes suggestions that there'll be more content coming in Data Mine, you rock! Phase 2 should be interesting....

Wouldn't have helped even if the clothes were around, since Tap Data is maxed at 50pts

I seriously don't see much of a problem with nerfing the info rate in Data Mine. It's 10x now, with the nerf a normal tap will yield 5x. We're talking about 70-90k per tap. The construct is not going to turn into a ghost town with the nerf, because ppl are still going to make huge sums of money, instead of making 100 million in 4 hrs, they'll make 50 million. And with the devices, and making people smile with rays of sunshine, that'll keep the Mara PvP crowd in there looking to play hunt the rabbit. Even if the info nerfgoes into effect, it's still going to change the MxO economy. Wreck the economy? No. Hyper inflation? Yes. Just like how some "Real" economies have gone through inflation, with soaring prices, same goes for MxO. The grandpa players in MxO who've been around since launch, farming and building info will grumble about how much things cost, that they remember in the old days how a beer cost 10 info, but it's now 10 million. There's no avoiding it. The same grumbles happened during the ability buy back weekend. The Data Mine is going to be around for much longer of course, so prices will rise on items, no matter if the info is nerfed. Sorry, but the Mega City Federal Reserve decided to print money out of thin air, not seeing the consequences, and people will start noticing the devaluation of the currency within a week. If you really wanted a balance and constrain the possible inflation explosion, the nerf needs to be at least 3x, and 1-2 device per server, yielding 5x. Maybe a Super Node that spawns a few times a day, accessible with the Device, yielding 500k to 1 million. Just my opinion, and maybe the doom and gloom scenario some are warning us about won't happen.... but there needs to be constraint. Content is what should bring people into the construct, greed will last for only so long, and when people begin to join the Filthy Billionaires Club within a couple weeks, the Data Mine will start becoming a ghost town. With no content and a vast amount of rich lvl 50s, the incentive for entering the ghost town will disappear, the players seeking to take out data miners will lose interest gradually because of a lack of Data Miners, and after PvPing amonst themselves, they'll eventually head back to Mara C. But in the meantime..... I'm having a blast, and think everything is swell... cause I'm gonna be a member of the Filthy Billionaires Club soon and spend it on strippers in Westview!
