  Purity would sure as heck be a good counter against all those CR2 hackers spamming auto-hit DoTs in interlock.

I don't really understand why the devs don't bring back Zen Master. Sure, it was added to balance out the hacking fest in CR1, so what? It's already coded so might as well fix the damage numbers and implement it, I doubt people would care if it's a gimped semi Aikido tree. It's definitely better than nothing.

  I remember creating a similar thread shortly after QA went live with CR2. I just had to adapt and use 123 above WASD as speed, power grab. Just place them in the hotbar and set whichever hotkeys you feel comfortable with in the options.

It'd be much better to have the arrows hotkeys back though.

  They've already stated that transfers from non-hostile to hostiles won't be allowed because it wouldn't be fair to those who leveled in hostile environment and had to put up with the ganking.

  Because unlike other trees (where abilities have different versions, such as Logic Barrage, have different versions and therefore make the low lvl ones useless), MA doesn't suffer from this. The damage of your abilities scale up with level and some them continue to be essential at level 50.

  The best way to "learn to PvP" is by trial and error. If you teach someone to use build A to beat build B and C then he'll have no idea what to do when the opponents change tactics or when he finds build C. Once you master the basics of the combat system it will be easy to come up with good builds. Practice will do the rest.

  Don't get me wrong, no one dislikes the idea of "dumbing down" the combat system more than I do. However, not using this "tactic" will put you at a HUGE disadvantage against most players. Either make it official or admit it is a bug.

Don't ya mean cast timer? Unless tactics themselves are 'used' every round, im not sure.

No, I'm talking about a re-use timer. Kind of like the re-use timer that Suicidal Butterfly undergoes when you use EFK, except smaller. A re-use timer of two seconds applied to the tactics after the ability goes through will prevent players from switching tactics right before it does the damage.

  Sixth sense detects ALL hostiles within a radius from you, not just the sneaked ones. It's weird that you mention it needs PvP or duel to work. I usually find zionite lowbies quite annoying because they come up on my map when I use sixth sense, whether flagged or not.

  The problem with switching tactics is that it circumvents the penalties associated with each tactic. For example, you use grab to get a good defense and accuracy bones, its downside is that once the move goes through it shouldn't do maximum damage. This can be easily exploited switching to power once the ability goes through, getting the most benefit out of the two tactics and avoiding their penalties. The way it should be is that if you want to do damage, you should start with Power and accept its -10% Accuracy penalty, not use speed/grab to win the roll and then switch. It gets even worse when you factor in Style switching as well.

I know this is so widespread right now that is almost part of the combat system. However, you can't deny that it defeats the whole purpose of different tactics, might as well just have one. A simple fix for this would be to add a small re-use timer to the tactics, say like 2 seconds, so you won't be able to change tactics at the start of the animations.

  This is probably a known issue since, at least in Vector, 99% of the people I've fought do it. It's widespread to the point where if you don't do it you will be at a disadvantage. I'm talking about switching tactics when your move goes through, i.e. from speed/grab to win the roll to power to do maximum damage. Then we have the more advanced ones which involve macros switching styles too, i.e. speed/kung fu to win roll, then karate/power to hit hard once the ability goes through, rinse and repeat.

I really HOPE this is not intended that there's a fix in the works, any ETA on it?

Intended or not, before the patch specials always hit in miss-miss situations, causing damage. Now specials don't cause any damage but the animations still go through. Making the fights last longer because there is less damage being dished out and more abilities getting blocked. I'm glad that defense actually works against specials now, and it's probably really fun in duels. However, you can't deny that the longer a fight lasts in a PvP battle the higher your chances of dying. I don't think it's that hard to get.

Haven't you noticed the time wasted waiting for an ability that won't do damage to animate? I'm convinced it'll be fixed but as it stands right now it makes interlock fights much longer.

Before this a spy or a hacker could do many abilities in IL in a row braking the opponents timer because the animations for most spy attacks are still 2-3 seconds and not 4. The 4 seconds animation bug has nothing to do with this patch. It was fixed a while ago. Although some interlock abilities, specially in the gunman and MA trees, still bypass the 4 seconds animations. For a spy ability to do 500 dmg (I assume you're talking about Leg Sweep here since it's the most damaging interlock move for spies) your opponent has to have poor TDR. Using that logic, some MA abilities can do over 2K damage to someone with poor MDR or over 1K without requiring states.

I was simply pointing out that the patch affected trees that rely solely one specials to do damage in interlock, spy happens to be one of them. Obviously some of you can't miss the chance to point out how flawed MKT is in. every. single. discussion. Heck, you'd probably have a different opinion about spy if you spend half the time you spend complaining in the forums actually PvPing against them.

This is a reasonable thread and I'd hate to see it turn into another MKT debate. I know this is asking a lot from you and "someone like you", but please refrain dragging your MKT campaign into this discussion. Forum PvPers FTL

  Probably not. Unless you want to buy into the "Macs are for artsy people" mentality.

...And the most important reason of all: Macs can't run games. You'll have to boot on Windows. Might as well just get a computer in the first place. It's trading overpriced hardware for overpriced software.
