He wasn't late usually, he was setting up event related things like NPC spawns and decorations and the like... it just took a while for him to do that.
Ahh. I remember one Cypherite event where he played Cryptos, and we were to meet him at one of Cryptos's box. He had this great smoke effect. Any idea on hiw he did that?
Put a dev animation on it, smokecloud or cloudsmoke if I remember correctly. Was funny, it was Rej's idea to do that and Rare had forgot how to do it so one of the other LESIG members had to track it down for him.
It was "message cloud" :p I requested that effect for several events, including some exploding mainframe
Yeah IV smacked me with the real name a couple of pages back. :p And sorry about the mix up there IV, I could have sworn that Rej requested that for that particular event but it's been a long time since it took place that I'm sure I'm wrong.

You know, the toughest thing about it all was not being able to spend more time on my mains but I always said that if I got in I was either all in or not at all. It was really tough not telling you guys but I think we all agree it was probably a better approach to not say anything. Lessens any kind of conflicts of interest and all. The hardest thing was seeing people basically disappear one or two at a time, not only from the faction but from the game in general and not feeling right about keeping secrets. I made good friends not only with you guys, people like Lucadello, Staticzero and Nem and never did say anything until earlier in this thread. Hell Harpalos and I were in Novus Imperium together and I always knew something was taking a lot of his time but never put it together lmao. But while I'm back here, IV, Rej and Kerevola...wow when the four of us were together those were some great times. I always liked the reaction our events got as they were almost always good and to me they were always fun. I had a blast hanging out with you guys and doubt I could have asked to be teamed with any better. You guys were all truly awesome and I enjoyed every minute of it! As for Rarebit, well I didn't include him originally because I thanked him in a PM before he left and wasn't expecting a response because I knew he was busy lining things up for his departure but he did take te time to reply and I was flattered by his response. Doesn't really matter what anyone says about him to me, he did what he could with what he had and was trying to learn other stuff on the fly. That's something I'll always appreciate. Anyway, those who are in LESIG still or were recently, you know my gmail info for Stanten and please feel free to drop me a line there. I do still check in on it a few times a week. I also threw my main XFire details out a couple of pages back, like on 11 or 12 I think, so feel free to add me there if you want. edit- Oh and NightTrace, heh. Made for some pretty interesting conversations brother but I always enjoyed them. Definitely had fun with it and it was a pleasure to get to know you. Still surprised you eventually came over to the Cyph side though heheheh.

Bayamos wrote: I'm curious in knowing these identities, because nearly everyone else's has surfaced already. Recursion.Stanten
Scratch this one off of your list. That was in fact me, AbraCadaver aka Devistate aka DesperAuto from the Syntax server. Well, still is me I guess because he never got renamed from when I left a few months back. I mostly hung out in my own circles until getting the invite so it doesn't surprise me that the ID didn't really get out, especially since no one knew for months and then only a few knew after that. It wasn't until I was about to leave when I told some people, including LO's that I worked with for a long time such as Tranta and the one formerly known as Haigen. Both were surprised even though they had spent a good deal of time around me.
Anyway since I'm here and never gave a good bye post, I really appreciated the time I spent in the group. Recursion was very good to me from the start, both within the Cyph Org and also those outside of it. The first nigth Rej and I were official I remember meeting with MetaLogic, Goligoth and Ebola, all were incredible to be around in the time I was there. I also remember having contacts with other org's members such as a couple of run ins with Fenshire and a few with Tranque off the top of my head. It really never was a dull moment heheheh. Don't know what else to say except that I thank all of those I was in the group with very much. All of you were awesome to work around to say the least and a few special shout outs: Vogt I watched you from a distance since I was Merv and Cyph, depending on my character logged in at the time, and I was in awe. Absolutely one of the most creative minds I've ever seen. Tranta, you reminded me a lot of myself with the attitude and sarcasm. I think that's why we got along so well for the most part. :p Haigen, still the most fascinating LO I ran across. Always made time and always checked in. Stayed active and busy while jacked in and that meant more than can be worded. Anyway, for anyone looking for AbraCadaver or Devistate, you won't find either as they've both been donated to LESIG and renamed. Abra last played in the Blood Requiem event on Syntax as DropFree and was killed at the end of his part so it would be kind of weird to log him in. Devistate was renamed and took part in a side event written by Haigen. He was accepted by the Cypherite Org and was an associate within the LESIG crew and was known as Recant, making occasional appearances. So that answers that part of your question and probably a hell of a lot more than you ever wanted to know. :p

The memory I was using when MxO would crash also tested out fine and worked well on other games. You said it yourself: "So - I updated my system from 1 GB to 2 GB of RAM the other day. And ever since then MxO keeps crashing on me." Coincidence?

I'm assuming you're running 2x1 GB sticks for your 2 gigs, in which case one of your sticks is bad. I had the same issue a couple of years ago.

If you'd like one, please post here to claim 1 key and then PM me your contact info. I've been working a lot lately but I'll send it to you as quickly as I can.

By the way, I do have a Vector character who was even in your faction, Causality yes? Great group of people and I was really sorry to stop playing him because of you all but RL stuff happened and main char duty called when I was able to finally log back in.
Anyway as I said before, try to justify or explain it away all you want but Paperghost epitomizes the end result. Screw people around like this and don't expect them to pay good $ every month to chance it continuing to happen. Every event has to have a winner and a loser but no event should have any side sitting around asking 'So why the hell are we here again?'.

It's not part of the set storyline if there is Player or LE planning involved. All of that is subject to change and adaptation, but nice try. *Sigh* It's either people complaining that LE's are scripted and players don't actually determine the outcome etc... now that an event was planned by players and Liasons with the acceptance of a Dev thus progressing the storyline... people are still complaining. I realise that timings and communications were an issue, but they'll get better with time. As for Merv cake... the vendors were out in the club, Machinists took over the club. It's only Cake tho' nothing that I would get excited about, FM-1500's are much more valuable and useful. (although I agree that all Orgs need a unique Item such as the FM-1500) Meh, plan a raid on a machine armoury and then see if you can pick up a few FM-1500's but you may have to stand in line behind all the Machinists who don't have then.... Cool. So now it's acceptable to plan and win an event by putting the targets of your attack to sleep via boredom and to tell the others involved basically to deal with it and then to plan their own event where they can 'wait in line for those wanting 1500's'. Yeeeaaaaahhh, still doesn't justify it. Honestly I fully believe that every Merv there who was force flagged should get a 1500 as a way of you all admitting that this event was horrible from the beginning and before you point fingers, as I said before I bailed so I wouldn't get one. You can try to explain or justify this as much and as long as you want but the point will always remain that this was by far and away the absolute worst excuse for an event ever. Never before has there been members of the victorious Org even siding with those who were the ones that were the object of a set up such as in this one. I already linked it, scroll back through and click through pages to find what others have posted. To argue this point any further would mean that you condone actions such as what happened in this even in which case everyone should just change their rep to Machine and stand around saying things like 'ZOMFG we r teh pwn' because nothing will be left but....that.

Just so you know. no Rewards where given out for this event. No FM 1500's or anything. SO bring that up for this event is pointless. Heh pardon me but I was under the impression that Machinists were allowed access to Merv items such as cake which are typically not available to non Merv's unless in a holiday setting for the most part. What I posted previously was a comparisson or something called an 'Analogy' if you will. Call it a 'what if' scenario just so you could put yourselves in the position of what the other side might have seen going on. So yes, sorry to say it but rewards were given out for this complete and total waste of time by allowing Machinists access to something that they normally wouldn't be able to acquire, again in a non holiday setting. Basically I'm saying that you missed the point of the post and contrary to what you might want to think I couldn't really care less about how this turned out for as I said before, it was painfully obvious that after an hour of no LESIG or LET appearance at a 'Merv Function' that something stupid was going on so I bailed. That said, I can definitely see where those who stayed are bent and even understand why several Machinists were less than happy with the event. Anyway, guess we can always hope that the Developer initiated Machine against Merv Zergs are over now seeing as how this is officially the second one and was even more pointless than the first which really says something.

So now the justification is 'A set up by the Machines' basically implying that this is our world, etc...etc...for basicaly an entire night and an event lost. In the end you get to claim a supposed Org locked club for your own and indulge in another Org's supposedly specific (non holiday) event reward for having made them wait while whatever the hell you people were doing was going on? Glad I left when I did and am even happier that a few of you seem to think that this event was worth while, especially seeing as how multiple Machinist Operatives seem to disagree. I do have to ask though that seeing as how some of you are gloating about indulging in Merv items, how would you have felt if the event the day beforehand (the supposed distraction) had been an attack on a Machine base that you had no access to or involved serious Developer assistance (such as the undamagageable Agents involed in this particular event) and the Mervs upon completing their assignement were rewarded with FM 1500's which were found by Ookami, Malphas, or whoever. Would you be singing the same tune then? I'm thinking quite a few of you would be crying foul and rightfully so.

You proved nothing that night except for the fact that in the time it takes for Machinists to execute 'Efficiency', most others will get bored and seek entertainment elsewhere. (( Sorry in advance to all who were involved in planning this but when people start bailing after waiting for an hour and the Mach side says they were into it for even longer, well that's not exactly 'efficient' or even entertaining ))

Good change of pace, and an interesting one at that.) *grins* Thank you, hun. ((It was a fun event! I wasn't really sure what was happening at the time either am only slightly more in the loop now, unfortunately. I was amused at Devistate's version of a "distraction" though... )) ((Hey! I only did 2 things before we all started fighting.
1) Told the Merv and Effy that Static was perfect for this job because he's the master baiter 2) Teleported to random yet normally populated hardlines whilst donning my latex disguise and shouting 'TROJAN MAN!' Like any of that is really a distracion or something!))

The 01 Construct, Agent Gray did a world broadcast and it led us straight to Ookami. I understand that Ballak but what I'm getting at is that it sure seems funny that Mach/Cyph get events that can't really be interrupted yet the one time Mervs go to a construct, well.....

I just hope the LE-thread for it will be posted soon. I'm sure the negative thoughts about the event won't change, but at least the idea behind the original operation will be known. Might shed some additional light as to why some choices were made. I'm sure the negative thoughts won't change as well. You see, what many have forgotten is that this isn't the first time that Merv's have been the target of a Developer initiated Zerg. Don't remember the first one? Look under the LET forums for a topic called 'Of course I'm waiting for back up you imbecile', posted by Flood.
Now yes all of the screen shots in many of the LE posts have vanished so I'll refresh your memories. There's a Machininst event going on when all of the sudden Merv operatives are hit with a request to provide Flood with assistance. This was in regards to cheat code research. Somewhere around 6 or 8 Mervs show up at the provided location to find the building full of Machinist operatives, at least 30 and that's probably a very low estimate for when we were force flagged it was nothing but a sea of red. I think the problem with things like this is as followed: Yes, many of us have other Org alts so we know who is doing what and when they are doing it. The biggest factor here is some people pass on this info they learn from one character to another org, most likely their own character at that. The reward, a 'party' ((announced on the forums, first warning bell right there)) where only Mervs operatives showed up for at least an hour after the scheduled time. Am I mad? Nope. As I said before I knew that after waiting for an hour with no LESIG or LE shows that something stupid was up, especially when most of us had already found out about the ongoing Machine event. That's why I burned off. I'm simply stating facts and explaining why a lot of Mervs are probably pissed and have somewhat of an apathetic view of things at this time.

*shrug* Things happen... some of them, you may not like. As Vogt said, a warning. And hopefully one The Frenchman will heed. (( and I agree about the event being anti-climactic... especially with all of the build-up on the Machinist side of things, it just kind of.. fizzled at the end. ))
((Probably didn't help that we were told to meet at a club at 4:30 MCT and no liaison or LET showed up until 6:00 MCT, long after several Merv's had lost interest and chalked it up to BS))

Well I went around the city telling people that huge fight broke out in lamar south. I know that helped the numbers there. It was a very odd mission. I ported around the city and shouted 'Trojan Man!' at every hardlne I went to. Seemed like a good diversion.
