Archive Mission bug

I am still experiencing the mission bug but I don't think it has anything to do with too many people doing missions.

I have been attempting to activate the Merovingian Archive Mission 4.3.2 on the Recursion server for several days now, at various times of the day, I think I've attempted it at least 50 times.

Today I went to try to see if it's a problem on all the servers and went to Syntax to get 4.3.1 ticket. I had no problems activating 4.3.1 and completed it, then could not activate 4.3.2.

I went back to recursion and asked a friend to try, incase it was my account, they had the same problem.

Perhaps the mission has crashed on someone and the building is locked out or the npcs are not available, I don't know. What I know is that it's highly likely no one can access this mission at the moment, and it would be appreciated if a developer can look at it. It's taken ages and ages to collect these tokens, and it sux being so close to the end. Esp with all the tokens filling up my inventory! If some other people would help me verify this or post if you managed to complete this mission today that might help!

Some more info...

I tried to activate this mission on the syntax server, it didn't work, I got a friend to try to activate it after doing 4.3.1, it didn't work.

So I guess the mission is bugged across all the servers, for everyone!

I am still experiencing this bug.

I have been able to start merovingian archive mission 4.3.1 and complete it several times (by just recycling the ticket) but I can't start the next one (4.3.2).

I've been to every single hardline in all the districts and I have been trying to start this mission over several days at different times of day. No luck.

I don't believe the bug lies in the fact that many people are doing it, it is either related to the character or the mission building (if it is a specific one, I don't know if 4.3.2 needs one or uses a random one nearby).

Please devs have a look and try to fix it? I'd love to get my trench!

This is great news, although I must admit I am not that thrilled by either developments. I would rather have a new area to explore and new types of missions (not just the critical, assasinate, etc) instead of old ones that we could access with our alt characters if we wanted to, lol.

 

However I'd like to add a couple of very annoying bugs which I hope the devs also know about.

 

The evade bug. NPCs in hideouts and open areas (not seen it in missions strangely enough) seem to randomly go into evade, instantly regenerating their HP. Solution might be to destroy the npc and respawn it immediately instead of going into evade mode, so that it is reset and not in evade mode for some minutes.

 

Body stacking in missions. When doing pandora's box missions bodies pile up and you can't loot all of them. This is particularly annoying for PB Box mission 4 where you need to retrieve a key from a body to open the door to the boss. I've had to abort many box4 missions with keys stuck under bodies. Solution here would be to let the empty bodies disappear like they do everywhere else, allowing us access the ones below it.

 

Devs would make me and a whole load of other players very happy to see these old old bugs fixed.

 

A couple of things to help us day to day would be also welcome, such as sorting on the inventory in the load out area for abilities, code bits and frags and additional filters in the market window. (e.g. female/male, min level, attribute/stat filters)

I've found that the Upgrade Master buffs are much harder now to keep up on more than 2-3 people. When you are in a team all the team members are expecting you to buff them and keep them buffed.

 

Is it possible to have group versions of the Upgrade Master buffs or to make them last much longer, say twice as long? Group versions could work like this: If you target someone outside the group it will buff everyone in their group excluding yourself, otherwise it will buff everyone in your group including yourself. The reason for this is to help time the buffs, i.e. you'll know everyone in your team is losing your buffs by simply looking at what buffs are on yourself.

A larger library would be so much appreciated... also if you can have a quiet word with the devs, some way of sorting them, e.g. per level or per tree, would be awesome. Same for code bits and frags.

A lot of people are disappointed with the fix to the area radius. In my faction alone 4 people have elected to sell their hacker trees and concentrate on the soldier ones. I suggest that the % increase for the range booster should be 200% as it does not last very long anyway, and has a long recast time, it would be a nice ability worth loading up. It would actually be useful in certain situations like PVP.


I also suggest that loading the hacker upgrades give a minimum of 100% increase to the radius. Loading tree upgrades should give worthwhile boosts.


As it stands the puny bonus increases to the area radius are not worthwhile and are perceived as 'not working'.


Alternatively, increase the base radius, 6m is pretty low, when caught in interlock if you activate any area hacks you only seem to get the one who is fighting you because they others stay within the range of the guns they are using while the npc fighting you tends to push you around everywhere. Hackers should be stronger than this, they already give up damage resistances to enable them to connect with their hacks.

I have a suggestion.

That the Test Server is loaded with the current player account database that is on the live servers. Including all crew and faction data. To see if there will be any problems on the release date. Maybe just one of the live servers for one day.

Just out of interest, do you guys use any commercial software auditing tools like Microsoft Visual Source Safe or PVCS?
 
You store all your code in there and release, then between releases you have the option to roll back your changes or at least systematically go through what you changed to track down any bugs like this. It's child's play to use and essential in a commercial environment.
 
Before the last patch the game was extremely stable, by all accounts. Now if you can compare and isolate what you changed between the two patchs I shouldn't think it would take you longer than a couple of days to find out where the bug is, beats looking through all the junk submitted to you when people crash.

I have also been crashing several times a day after the patch, before the patch the game was running very smoothly for me. I usually crash when killing gangs farming frags, sometimes when doing box openings - I crashed once during a mission but I don't do a lot of missions. I once crashed just standing at an HL looking through the marketplace, I think either there are several bugs or just one random one doing a sweep now and again. Might be due to the new billboards when they change ads, I dunno.

Hope the devs reading this will take a look at it, it's annoying as hell.

So I guess the bottom line is...don't laugh at an FM....lol

I personally think you are right that the trees need rebalancing, I love the SMG tree, well OK I love sub machine guns, and it's way underpowered with ridiculous IS costs but I doubt anything will happen until after cr2 is live.

I agree with you noVus, I have a long history with SOE like you and I am also concerned. It takes a lot of courage to take on a game based on an evolving storyline rather than an evolving game and I doubt SOE can meet the challange, that is why they are concentrating on the mechanics rather than building up a respectible and effective LET.
 
Well they may prove us wrong and future updates might bring exciting storylines to us, I hope so. SOE is excellent in other areas such as the development team and they have a lot of experience with support.
 
One thing ArtherEld is forgetting tho, is that SOE have already spent a lot of resources on cr2.0 so I think most of what we see on the test server will stay with us, and knowing the company's attitude towards their player community ... we WILL have to like it or lump it, afterall it is THEIR game not ours.

I personally like the interlock fight commands (red blue green etc) separate from the hotbar, but it would be great to be able redefine which keys these are tied to.

 

For hotbars, how about allowing upto three of them available on the display which we can reposition by dragging. One set for 0-9, another for ALT+0-9 and another for SHIFT+0-9.

 

To manage them we can right click on any Hotbar to get new options to Hide Hotbar, Show ALT Hotbar, Show SHIFT Hotbar, Lock/Unlock Hotbars. You cannot hide the primary 0-9 hotbar of course.

 

To flick through the 10 hotbars you can have [, ] for normal, SHIFT+[, SHIFT+] for the SHIFT ones and ALT+[, ALT+] for the ALT ones.

 

Then we can have upto 300 slots to play around with macros, changing clothes and emoting like crazy. Yayy!

 

If you put the interlock commands in the hotbar that will eat up our hotbar slots - this will actually make combat a lot tricker for us as we will need almost always shift into a new hotbar when interlock starts and if we want more than 5 commands available to us during interlock we will need to shift between 2 or 3 hotbars DURING combat - I am thinking of things like easy access to health pills or activatable items.

I completely agree with Deathbound.


Real world advertising doesn't belong in the Matrix game, unless they are timeless and in line with the Matrix films (though I can't remember seeing one ad in them at the moment).


I don't want to log in and be bombarded with ads about buying Dells, using Google, taking out a Barclaycard or a loan or a mortgage with the Halifax, thanks. I think most players will agree with me that this will completely ruin the atmosphere in the game, if I want ads I'll surf the web.


Next think you know we'll have cool outerwear with great stats and McDonalds stitched on the back of them.


I don't know what's wrong with SOE, instead of advertising other company's crap to us they should be marketing MxO in the real world, that's how to increase the player base and bring in revenue.
