Ok my point here is to highlight a flaw in the xp trades of the corrupted quest.  I have been conducting research on the best method to level from 1 to 50 without having to run missions or needing a team of 50's.  basically i settled on the corrupted quest as the xp trade in is on a par with 01 parts and you can do it using a lowbie on a second account and a 30+ operative.  At the corrupted quest hand in vendor "The Fumigator" there are 2 options to trade in for which you gain XP.  One being a corrupted archive which at level 45 gives 1,350,000 XP and 250,000 info and the other being a corrupted code trade in which again gives 1,350,000 and 1,250,000.  Ok the problem here is the second option is highly imbalanced due to the fact in order to get a corrupted code you have to kill a Level 100 Wasteland Corrupter which requires 340 Decayed Code. 

 

If I was to trade in 340 decaying code at level 45 i would get 11,475,000 XP and 2,125,000 Info.  as you can see the second XP trade option is highly imbalanced, even if you take into account that there is a small chance you will get 2 Corrupted Codes drop from the 1 Wasteland Corrupterthe numbers dont work out any where near the values they should be in order to make the trade in worth while.

 

This conclusion is not even taking in the fact that it takes 15-20 mins to kill a corrupted in which time you could of gained your self another 40 decayed code by farming the corrupted spawns.

 

How to fix this, I think a way to fix this would be to increase the XP on the Corrupted Code to 8.5 times that of an Archive and also incease the info given to 2,125,000.  This would bring the trade in into balance and the reward of 2 corrupted code having a low chance of dropping is a reward for killing the spawn instead of just collecting the decayed code.

 

Id like to hear if everyone thinks this change seems fair and hopefully it attracts the eyes of Rarebit and makes the patch.

 

Also while ive been looking into this i think it would be beneficial if there was a trade in added to "The Fumigator" that allowed you to change 1 archive for 40 insecticides.  This would help store large amounts of decaying code in a players inventory and reduce the ammout of inventory space needed for the decayed code by half. As the farming process for the headgear is a long process your inventry space is taken up during the farming process, if the trade i sugested is implemented it would half the ammount of space needed while players farm the required amount of decayed code to take on 1 corrupter.

Does anyone know how to get triple clienting working with xp.  In vista i can use the -clone to let me triple client but in xp I can only dual client. Any ideas???

Then we have the Party's while i respect that some people do like attending parties in the matrix i for one get no enjoyment at all for standing around doing nothing in /dance(random number) emote.  In order for the parties to be more enjoyable for both those people who like to attend or those who like me cant be bothered to just stand around how about having something along the lines of the brewko quizies in order to give everyone something to do while they /dance. I think the only party ive enjoyed was the one when effy popped a pink box on each server and that was only because recursion finished it first.

If we are only going to have limited interaction with Live Event characters i  would hope these would be quality sessions with either detailed conversations about current events with feedback coming and going both ways or some sort of task such as the ones used in the 01mainframe puzzle giveaways where by a character comes on for instance,  the one i remember clearly was the sous chef  and we were given a list of items to collect the first team back recieved a part of the puzzle.  This could be done in place of the meetings on some updates when meetings arnt required and would require very little work from Rarebit.  All it would take is for Rarebit to set a unique mob spawn somewhere like he did for the neo agents and overide node spawns in the past and have these drop a series of unique collector items any players that return with all the items on a list given by the Live Event character within a set time limit recieve a reward, kind of like the old perp FX rewards but not as special.  For instance you could recieve a stack of 20 overide bits (the ones that spawn npcs) or something to that effect.

In summary a new approach was needed and parts of the format in action at the moment work where as other ideas do not it would be nice to see if rarebit plays with the format a little more and maybe we can get more small scale live events like the ghost one we had on recursion. 

Oh and another point I almost forgot about where is the new sentinal we were told previously it would be coming out more frequently this could be used to advetise more private live events like we used to have where by those willing to decode hidden messages could find out the time for the event.  I remember everytime a new sentinal was released i would spend hours scouring over it decrypting messages and such and provided me with out of game content.  This should be produced more often maybe at least a new copy released every 2 updates.  Which also brings me round to scanline on the 5/8/08 it was posted that BA52 was coming soon now its been 5 months since then and nothing when are we going to hear about it or will this be left as another plot hole like the sarah edmonton story and the other many storylines that have just been abondoned.

With Xmas just around the corner i started thinking of all the different consoles ive aquired as xmas presents over the years and it made me think of my old Sega Master System that had the Alex the Kid game built in so having thought of this i went on the search for any of you who want a little retro gaming memory this xmas i found the game remade as a java game.

Ok i was thinking today about a new construct idea that utilizes the current things we have in the matrix but adds a bit of a twist to it also it would be something to spend all that spare info on that is going around.

 

Ok so here its is the construct is pretty much in 2 stages.

 

The first stage being a Key that can be purchased from the archivist for a high mount of info like the org construct key.

This key can only be used in the Richland/Westview area.  What this key does is when used runs a mission like the org construct key which takes you to the assention monumnet in roger way.  (its about time that door opened)  we go through the door and then it takes us to a whitehalls like the Commando gear items.  except there is only one route.  the hallways should be populated with with mission nps in each hallway.  the door to get to the next hall way should be locked and unpickable this is the only part im not sure about can be implemenetd as i know lock pick is a lvlable ability but can the locked doors be made unpickable.  anyway to carry on because each door is unpickable you have to kill the npcs until you get the key to open the door. so once you fight your way through the many hallways with increasingly higher npcs you get to a final room with either an npc who will teleport you to the construct known as the tower or give you an archivist book and send you back to your org archivist area.

So thats stage 1

 next is stage 2

Right once youve either obtained the book or been teleported (notsure which is easier to implement)  if you can be sent by the mission NPC there should be a HL to tag in the construct so that you can get there again.  or if a book is dropped it should have a decreased decay limit but still decay.

 any way this construct should be a lvl 100 boss (yes lvl 100)  who should drop all the construct boss loot already implemented plus a few extra items such as some good pants as we have no uber buffed pants. These should be all round buffs with maybe 2% acc and 2% damage to all trees with 33 pts resist to 3 of the trees to be decided.  This would be fair as the chance of getting the new drop would be small because of all the loot in the loot table for all the other construct drops.  also it would be a piece of clothing comparible to the commando pants for everyone.

  Would it be possible to make soem of the RP items droppable so that they show up like the lugs do i think that would be cool as then we could set up out own RP scenes like leaving an RP item in a Perticular Building for people to hunt down.  Would encourage more Player Events and also give us some more content to boost the RP scene.

  I was pvping today and noticed what i consider a bug with master shadow.  im not talking about the usual gripe of it being to easy to cast. the bug i found was that dot attacks do no damage to some one who has run master shadow after the dot attacks have been applied even though the system screen states that damage is being done.  from my understanding of master shadow it makes the player impervious to attack but if a dot has already been applied i think the damage should count unless a antibiotic or sweep is done i think this would balance out some of the problems with master shadow
