But I've got a new incarnation on Syntax, and I am looking forward to farming up a storm. Great news.
You're joking, right?
Who exactly is going to code and implement all of these wonderful items for our fabulous 6th Anniversary in March 2010? BTW where's all of the wonderful items for our fabulous 5th Anniversary in March 2009? Please explain.
Pleasure needs no explanation. Smarmy smugness accepts none. Have a nice day!
Well said. Some individuals may see this as an insult, while others accept what can be granted for paying fifteen dollars (or X amount of insert currency here) a month to enjoy a game that is obviously dying. There are optomists in this world who try to find a silver lining in the darkest of things, sugaree just happens to be one of those people. Pessimists can't see past the fact that someone who can hope and dream are actually doing only that (or in rare cases, hopeful wishing) for things to change. Will it happen? Probably not. But...why take that away? Why don't you try to explain who will undertake her requests for all the 'wonderful items' for our fabulous anniversary? She probably doesn't have an answer (and neither do most), and her wishes do not warrant an explaination, as she stated. Some of us just try to explore and enjoy the game for what it's worth and not worry about trivial details on trivial things...like who is going to code all the items she'd like to see or implement past iterations of unattainable items at present. As for me, at least we're getting something. SOE could have easily said screw you guys, just rot and burn until you cannot any longer! The fact they're still putting the game on life support at least leaves me to believe they're not quite done yet. Then another part of me says otherwise. Moral of the story: If you don't like the game for what it's become, the cancel button is in your subscriptions page. Take a couple clicks of the left mouse button to just leave this game alone. But if you're going to stick around, respect what people wish and don't ask trivial questions about trivial issues when someone is merely trying to give ideas and support for a game she likes to play. Just my two cents on the matter.

I concur with PBlade on his statements. I've been playing this game near constantly for three to three and a half years. It's been a constant thing in my life as well, despite the rather rough RL that I've had over that timespan. I've met a lot of good friends whom I'll end up keeping well past MxO's demise once it gets here - many of which I'll probably see again in another universe. A lot of my personal skills have evolved over my timespan of playing this game, such as communication, logic and even improved my personal writing ability (as I am now close to 200 pages into a novel I've been manuscripting) as well just the general knowledge that were others out there like me who enjoyed the trilogy. All in all, my time in my MxO has been positive, with a few rough points here and there. However, when you deal with people from different walks of life, that's to be expected. Life just wouldn't be interesting without hurdles.

I'd almost have to pay to see this, while this update was very disappointing, props have to be given where props are due. Rarebit did what he could with the limited resources at his disposal. Yes, I was disappointed by the update, but like many others, I wasn't expecting a whole lot. On topic, SWG-type storyteller tools would be nice, but I believe it's a finer point to accept what's there and move on than get upset over something that we have no control over.

Best thing I've seen to do, is if you use an ability that switches styles, just keep Kung Fu on your interlock style, and hit it after you use a move that switches out of the style, such as Cheap Shot. Use that move, then immediately after it hits (or misses :S), hit your - key or click that particular icon and it'll put you back in Kung Fu stance, albeit depending on how quick you hit it, may have to go a round in self defense. Hope that helps even more.

That argument could be made, seeing as how the same guy who made the 100 yard fumble rumble earlier, should have been thrown out for his belegerant punching of that one Cardinal tight end while he was down. Got off with an Unnecessary Roughness call, where as in another game, he'd of been thrown out for that. Penalty wise, the Cardinals shot themselves in the foot a few times, 11 pentalies for over 100 yards. But as I said, Warner's experience showed tonight in orchastrating a come back from a 13 point deficit at halftime. It was the defense who ultimately let them down, a defense which stuffed the Steelers on their previous drives, which helped fuel that 13 point come back. Maybe they ran out of steam, or maybe they lost focus. Who knows? But meh, I don't look at it from a rigged perspective - all I see is a bunch of 'experts' who said that the Steelers would blow the Cardinals out of the water, and they won by less than a touchdown. It also shows that experience (ala Warner and Fitzgerald) can account for a lot in turning losing games into nail biters up until the final whistle. And another thing, just because you're ranked #1 in defense doesn't mean anything when it comes to the team who won the other half of the trip to the Big Game. Just remember that

They always say a good defense is the catalyst to a winning team, and the Cardinals' D certainly let them down on that final Steelers drive. It's a shame to see such an awesome drive by Warner and Co. that gives you the lead by wasted by lousy defense. At any rate, a very good game tonight.

So after a 100 yard fumble rumble by the defensive player of the year, disrupting what would have been a 14-10 Cardinal lead going into the locker room, the Steelers currently lead 17-7. Funny how quick a football game can be turned around. Oh well, keep hope Arizona fans, permanant and temporary! Still a half to go, lol

They are just now capable of getting the roads cleared, so I should be able to return to work today, seeing as how my employer doesn't shut down for anything less than the apocolypse, and even that has to be pondered deeply. We get a couple days reprieve before another potential Winter Storm gets poised to charge at us. Fun stuff, oh well - we're overdue for a rough winter.

It would be nice to see some of the forgotten teams of the 70s, 80s and even 90s, make a good comeback to their yesteryear days. Raiders, Lions, Bengals etc. All teams that, in the past, were forces to reckon with, yet in recent years, not so much. I wish I could go to the Super Bowl, it's definitely on my to do list one of these years.

This is true, isn't he supposed to be an expert analyst? hehe. But it's like you stated, anything can happen. To make it to the Super Bowl takes more than just luck, and I read another article on ESPN.com here, that was talking about the match up and what to expect. He makes a good point that the blitz that did well in the playoffs for Pittsburgh may not work as well against an experienced QB like Warner. He's a calm individual, even the face of a blitz and is not afraid to stay in the pocket until a receiver is open. I guess we'll have two weeks to wait and see. I'd imagine it'll be a good game, if only for a bit.

Oh I know, I'm really surprised that he got away with that. I saw that and did a facepalm, but they didn't call it.
Poor officiating can ruin games. But as much as I like to think otherwise, I'm pretty sure Pittsburgh will end up running away with it. But, I'm not a Pittsburgh fan, ergo, not really an Arizona fan either, but they are the lesser of the two evils.

Why is it stupid? The idea has been around in physics circles for quite a while now. I fist heard of it in the early '90's. If have any other data to specifically refute the theory, let us know. And as always, Show your work.
First off, I never pay attention to physics - the only laws of physics I understand are gravity, laws of inertia, terminal velocity of a freefall, and the rate at which an object falls. I'm not refuting anything, I'm merely stating my opinion, is that a crime now?
My own reasons are simple, I believe certain things (such as the existance of our world, ourselves and so forth), do not require a physical explanation. I was raised to believe the way things came about according to the Bible. I won't go into that because it's not allowed on the forums. But when people ask me why I don't believe in the Big Bang Theory, or why I don't believe in evolution, it's because I believe that life doesn't require an explanation and that things came about as stated in Genesis. I only believe that I'm not in charge of the way things run, and that it's a power higher than anyone on this Earth. So, in essence, any data I have - you wouldn't accept, because you wouldn't believe it anyhow, would you? So...why should I have accept your data, because I wouldn't believe it anyhow, would I? To restate, I disagree with this because my own beliefs don't require an explanation to life. Therefore, I fail to see where people get these ideas, it's beyond any form of stupidity. People can believe whatever they want, it's their own opinion - like I have mine. I just find their's a bit farfetch'd, and the fact that people have to go to such great lengths to prove that our world is fake is just plain stupidity in my eyes.
1. Its not saying the world is fake, its saying that the universe is beautifully elaborate and complex. The hologram metaphor is just that - a metaphor to help physicists explain aggregate information.
2. If your faith does not allow for reason, then you're doing it wrong. 3. Look at it from a telelogical perspective. If we agree that 2+2 is always 4, then its fair to ask, why is 2+2 always 4? Or, why is math? You might say, because God says so. A physicist might say, "That's a good question! Let's investigate further." The end result isn't necessarily mutually exclusive, unless you insist that the only thing you must find at the end is literaaly a giant older white man with long grey hair and a long beard clad in white robes and seated on a golden throne on a giant cloud. No offense, I hope you understand what I'm getting at here.
I listen to reason up to an extent, but only until it becomes obvious you're rambling on. And I'm not saying that there isn't a reason to look into things. I personally, key word, personally - just find it a waste of time. Some people like to investigate into certain things, like: 2+2=4, and I don't say it's because God says so. I just say that's so because, well, that's how I was taught in school. I don't look at it from a perspective of why it's like that, because in the end - there is no point, at least in my mind. To some people, there may be. It's all about opinions.
I don't insist on anything, because things do change - and I don't plan my life around the end. I'm not one to question the nature of things, if only because I don't time to do so. Some people do.
The only time I question anything involving something, is when I know there is an underlying truth (such as investigations into stolen property, or questioning someone about an incident), OR when I'm writing my literary works and trying to find contridictions or inconsistencies with it OR just to carry a conversation on about an interesting topic that has some more information behind it. The same may hold true for a physicist when it comes to this matter, touche.
Once again, I'll reiterate what I've said for two posts now - it's my own opinion, and the way I think. If people wish to waste their time on this, then have at it. I mean no offense either, just stating my own opinion, as I've said about five times now. And thank you Capt. Obvious Cadsuane I think I'll let this go now, because I have a feeling it'll just keep going on circles...

So, is it possible or not? Just a way for that L next to the flagship's name to be something more than eye candy (if you can even call it that...). Leaders may just as well be a regular crew in the faction the way things are right now. I just really think it would benefit us a bit if we had a bit more control. Right now, the hassle of remaking an entire faction just to deal with an inactive or insubordinate crew seems a bit extreme to maintain peace within the faction.

Just goes to show that the little things in life can make a huge difference. That's an awesome story though.

Thanks for the quick reply Virrago. Man, I was really hoping to get in game and see some snow before I went off to work, hehe
