Considering how I have seen you treat some members of the MxO community in the past, there is no way would I (and perhaps some others) want to visit the "official post mxo" boards if you were the admin. Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware of many positive contributions you have made back in MxO's hay day... but if you ran things I feel it would be a clone of the DoE boards behavior wise... and thats no fun at all.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't but think that due to the whole "guilty by association" thing, and before you say something like "I'm glad you wouldn't want to use our boards" let me point out how that would be proving me right. So do yourself a favor and don't say anything like that.

Now before anyone gets all butthurt over what I just said, relax. Just my opinion. I'm entitled, and I sure as hell wasn't gonna stay quite about my thoughts on the future of the MxO community.

You've got your history wrong, mate. The original mxoboards was Jurymen's thing; it had to be shut down because his participation was a conflict of interest with his position on the DN1 forums. It was his forum, and I'm glad you wouldn't want to use his boards, because we (i.e. over 300 people from all three servers) had a lot of fun on those forums until they were shut down. I couldn't imagine what they'd be like with you posting your nonsense on them.

Not like it matters, because no one is forcing you into which forums to use. No one forced you to visit the DoE boards either (which is a terrible idea if you're from TC), where the administrators (of which I am not one) only come down on those who deserved it, like you -- usually for posting stupid stuff with no factual information to back it up, like your post above.

But obviously you have negative thoughts on the future of the community as it stands, so maybe it would be in your best interests to remove yourself from its future instead of bringing it to another forum, whichever it may be.

Hate to break it to you, but you wasted all that time. So did I. All for pixels and points of data that will be rendered worthless in eight weeks.

Now it's just a matter of making that rare stuff worthless now, or two months from now. I got one of the first FM-1500s and I wouldn't mind one bit if everyone had the opportunity to play with one for the time we have left. I'd rather share the enjoyment than keep it to myself.

Since the world is ending in 2 months, can we give players, new and old, the opportunity to get rare items that are either no longer obtainable, or require far too much effort to farm for? Perhaps set up a vendor that sells stuff like the Area K Trench, Patcher's Headgear, org items, etc. for a small amount of $info.

I don't think anyone's going to care much that their uber-rare items are going to mean anything for the duration, so why not let everyone enjoy what they previously couldn't obtain while they still have the chance?

I'll miss Beta. The game was so buggy, but so much fun. +80 CT clown suit was epic while it lasted.

I'll miss those first few live events when MxO first went live. The amount of effort that went into those first events, with the special spawns, weather effects, ever-changing billboards, and the random clues lying on the ground put them in a league of their own and they will be sorely missed.

I'll also miss when the outcome of live events actually meant something. You really had to work for it.

I'll miss when having an FM-1500 actually meant something. You really had to work for it.

I'll miss the feeling of excitement when I solved a puzzle and the subsequent frantic attempts to get in contact with Niobe with the solution before anyone else did. I especially liked the part when others thought they had the thing figured out before me and gloated about it -- hours after I already met Niobe (and later Agent Pace).

Most of all, I'll miss all the great people I met in Kings of Never, The Trust, and of course, the DoE. They aren't lost forever, as the legend lives on in other worlds -- mostly ones involving zombies. Yay zombies.

Unless you've had to face that decision in real life for something or someone you truly care about, there is zero truth to that. It's been painful for a long time and it's come time to put it down for good.

The fact that it's not economical to the operators of the game and no one who can affect the decision that has been made cares otherwise, it's best to put that argument to rest.

Wow, I'm sorry to have not gotten to this thread sooner.

After having left and returned to this community so many times, what kept me coming back was due to the hard work and dedication of a person whose talent made MxO what it is today, and always aspired to make it a game deserving of its fan base.

Many people say that video games are another way for artists to express themselves, a new media for the future, and Rarebit, I think we can all say that you are an artist that has touched us all in some way.

You will be sorely missed, but your work will live on and never be forgotten.

So long, friend, and thanks for all the toast.
