The First Annual GQubed's Fight Club to Benefit Kids Who Can't Read Good and Stuff!

Begins: Wednesday March 25 at 7:00PM EST.

Ends: When all are beaten, bruised and bloodied... and broke!

Place: Sai Kung SW (bar/fightclub behind hardline.) 386, -280

The Rules:

MA only this time. No pills, boosts, rsi signatures. No SleepWalker pants, no clothing that gives a healing buff ect. I have total authority in this venue and will be available for questions concerning other equipment if needed.

The first 2 fighters will be chosen by me, with the winner of 1 fight staying on as the current ring Champ.

At this time the other fighters can offer challenges that include what they are willing to wager at that time, to the current Champ. for example: fighter 1 >"2 million info!" Fighter 2 > "500k info"

The Champ has the right to choose any challenger and any bet that they can afford to cover. Once the Champ accepts a challenge the fight will begin, the loser will pay the winner whatever the agreed upon wager was and must sit for 2 fights before challenging again. The Winner stays on as the current Champ and we begin challenging for the next contender which, once again, is totally up to the current Champ.

In the past there have been fighters who have beaten 9 straight contenders. It is a 1 fight chance to prove yourself, step up and put your info where your mouth is. If you lose, wait 2 fights and try again, maybe you will have the longest streak.

At the end of this Fight Club, the person with the longest streak will be given an extra 10 million info (I would give more if I had it) however with the info made during the fights and with side wagers the opportunity for financial gain is within the grasp of everyone who attends, including those not suited as MA and are there to watch and have fun!

So come show your support for the kids around the MegaCity that aren't good readers by beating people up, or cheering the beaters on! Together we can stop bad reading.

He turned his back on all he knew. Tired of the story, tired of same dreary tale from those that escaped their hollow reality for an even more hollow unreality. He tolerated a few, but he knew that in the end even they would weigh heavy upon him, and this disgust he felt consuming him would take them with him.

Instead he began his journy through real world. As one day turned into the next and still he found himself alone, he felt almost optimistic that solitude was indeed the answer. The Earth, it seemed, was a wasteland, and how fitting it was that it's desolate surface matched perfectly with the feeling in his heart. The bones of the long since departed turn to dust under his boot.

He didn't expect an answer, but after awhile the sound of ones own voice can be of some comfort, and this was a question he has asked aloud countless times before. This time was different however... this time he got an answer.

"Since man first stepped upon the planet, there has been war." The voice was deep, almost robotic in its lack of emotion or tone. "Since blood has first flown through the heart of man, man has sought to spill it. "

Turning in circles and seeing nothing he scrambled to where he heard the voice. "Who is out there? Are you following me? "

No answer this time. He told himself he had imagined it, and set off back down his path.

2 Days Ago

That voice is at it again! After all this time, after all I've been through, this is how I end up... hearing voices and yelling into the blackened night? The voice says strange things, things I somehow feel that I already know, yet had forgotten. I think it wants something from me, or I want something from me if the voice is truly me. I have no idea what it is, although I am sure I will be finding out soon. Even if it is in my head, I must admit that I am comforted by it. Perhaps I was hasty in leaving, maybe that's what it wants.

Yesterday

Was digging through junkpiles and found something very interesting. It's definitely not human made, too advanced for me to even tell what it is... the voice say's it is just scrap and that I should throw it away, but it's so pretty. I think I will keep it.

I threw that machine out and am heading back to civilization. Too long have I wandered the wasteland. Must be kept safe until the time is revealed.

I really wasn't going to write a "Goodbye" post, because although my account will expire this month, my intention was always to come back a few months down the road. Events that have gone on recently have lead me to question whether a return is going to happen. The stuff with Capone was hard to watch, I always thought he was a cool guy, but that punk'd business was an attack at the whole community and then to find out he planned it from jump... well safe to say our community is not what it was in beta and the year or 2 following launch, but now I'm thinking, maybe it never was as tight as I remember.

Last time I checked my /play time was nearing 300 days. I remember roleplaying with Foxxdie and the Revenant, conversations with Morpheus (Wow LET was just an amazing concept). I have vivid memories of every event, of fighting alongside Fenshire when he was Zion and when he was Mech <3. In the beginning we really thought we could change the Matrix, we were all die hard fans of the movies and games and this was our chance to immerse ourselves in that world... it was a dream come true for us and that is why the community was so awsome.

Anyways, I promised myself I wouldn't cry SMILEY<img src=

I hate to be the one to bring this up, but what the hell is going on with our community lately? Drama, well yes thats normal and acceptable since we are where we are; however, I am talking about all the trash talking. I myself have enjoyed the occasional barrage of verbal fire that I let loose sometimes .. ie... "Take that" or "ouch, GF" or even on a bad day "You are mean."

Seriously tho, Mara has always had its share of loudmouths, we all know this, but that was mostly in good fun. Even the shake and bake thing was funny until all the colors made my pupils bleed. Now people are getting all serious and making threats, racial statements, flagrant CCRs ... has it always been like this? Ive been here since the start and I certainly don't remember it always being like this. In my opinion Factions should at least give eachother some respect no matter what the pvp of the day has transpired.

This isnt a thread to call anyone out and it's frightfully emo as I re read this, but come on people, even the "RP" folks get along outside of their vampiric love triangles with demons of other dimensions ... ask Fen.

PvP is just for kicks, lezel taught me that. Lets get over the who is a better trasher ... or who can pee further business

I am the king of my Matrix. Lesser beings scurry out of the way as my approaching footsteps pound the ground eternal. The Truce is a thing of the past, and again people are scurrying to find their appropriate sides, and to draw their chosen line in the perverbial sand.

Whether you have been here since beta, or just took the red pill yesterday, what is it that you have accomplished ingame that you are most proud of? Met the Oracle? Kissed Agent Pace? you dont have to show screenies although Pace has made out with plenty of females (and Foxxdie ) and those are always fun pics to see SMILEY

Ive stopped pvping, dueling, even went and changed my attributes to hacker for a bit. now im finally in range (110 short) they stopped spawning... its saturday night guys help me out SMILEY

This is how is works: The winner stays in the ring and once every person has rotated through once the Champ takes challengers of their choosing based on the $bet. Myself, Turokhan or TheHidden will be there to make sure things go smoothly.

Side bets are encouraged, this is a good time a nice way to earn some extra $info.

For duels lately I am wearing my Trollhide and the defense pants, although I prefer wearing the melee accuracy shirt and pants for the extra resist, it just seems that i need the trollhides initiative to be able to counteract the onslaught of specials in the recent weeks.

For pvp (which i admit I do not do a ton of) I have been wearing massive thrown resistance and foregoing the normal sakura bandana and widows lenses i wear for dueling.

Anyways I was just curious what you all were wearing these days SMILEY

PvP which, in general, has been lacking for awhile is even worse since everyone found out how overpowered the MKT tree is. 9 out of 10 people are packing that loadout and it's borderline... well over the line ridiculous. There are a few gunman and MAs out there that still give it a go but in the end it is waiting around until the MKT can get a punt off for more damage than any other move ingame.

My question is this: WHY? Cuz some guys like to kick people in the nuts, everyone is going for it? Do we need a new piece of clothing like a cup for protection against 1780 dmg? In an environment meant for open combat, why is it so popular to hit a hyperjump away hoping and praying for a CQ? maybe its just me, idk thanks for letting me share.

1) Waking up with some good hot pancakes for breakfast is a must.

2) Start up the computer and then press the connect button. Next
I hear the wonderful and awe inspiring sound of the Dial Up calling,
followed by the heart warming screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech and after a few
moments I see the lovely bubble pop up telling me that I am connected
at 28.8 kbps. :smileysurprised:

3) I check the DN1 boards and catch up with my all time favorite soap
opera, then continue on to check my faction boards and a few
others. I usually will only post if I feel I can add to the
thread or a quick flame:smileytongue:

4)Open my launcher and jack in. I check my outfit and load into
Vauxton West and start saying hello to everyone in faction chat.
I open my buddy list and see who is on... this will usually tell me
where the busy place in the Matrix is since most people seem to be
pretty territorial. For the first couple hours I spend time
helping out my faction mates with coding or nodes or whatever they need.

5)In the evening I will attend any events I read about in DN1 and then
switch to my alt and play in the archives until my heart is content. :smileyhappy:

This is my routine for most days, and in between these things I find
time to duel and chat and anything else that needs attending to.
I have yet to take a "break" from MxO, but hey, I like a good routine
hehe.

Anyone got something they do everyday? I could probably fit them in somewhere :smileywink:

The
rain trickled down on GQubed's head, letting him know that it was just
another day in the Matrix, same as the day before. He looked at the
growing number of his people gathered around the hardline at Vauxton
West where his surrogate family, Exodus, met daily. They were indeed a
remarkable group of operatives, and even better people. Truthfully, he
never expected there to be this many when he first set out on the quest
that lead him away from the safety and security of his former faction,
and yet here they were, all looking to him for something, anything to
do to help further their common cause.

Peace was not any
closer than it had been the day they decided to work solely toward the
goal of peace and prosperity between man and machine, and yet this
loyal group had not given up. They had fought and bled for him. They
had sacrificed and put themselves at great risk by not attacking
machinist operatives until they were themselves attacked first. They
had gone out of their way to hunt down Merovingian followers, and
Cypherites hellbent on causing mayhem and turmoil in an already hostile
world teetering on the brink of war. He had trained them to the best of
his knowledge and pushed them harder than he had ever been pushed
himself in the hope that when the time came, they would be able to rise
above their emotions and focus clearly on their combined goals both in
battle and in real life.

As his eyes moved from one to the
next he sensed that perhaps they were tired. It is indeed hard to work
so diligently for something without seeing what headway you may or may
not be making. They needed something to put their minds at ease... a
test, perhaps, to prove to themselves and eachother that all the hard
work and training would pay off, but how?

The answer came in an
a most unexpected way. His cell phone rang, and a unnamed informant
told him of a battle being waged between Machinists, Merovingians,
Cypherites and Zionites in the Appolyon region of Richland. GQubed's
stomach churned as he thought of how he loathed Richland and the
violence that it seemed to be the breeding ground for, but what better
way to test his operatives on their belief in their cause, as well as
their skills in battle. It would be difficult, no doubt, as the
Machinist would surely attack whether Exodus was fighting Cypherite or
Merovingian, but the true test would be if his people fell to the
desire to attack the Machinists first.

With a short call to all
of the Captains, and little instruction as to what they would face,
GQubed lead them into the fray. Hours later, when the smoke had cleared
and the blood had dried on the hot pavement of the poor excuse for a
nightclub's parking lot, he looked at his faction with pride. They had
not been 100% victorious in the impromtu test, but they had indeed made
him proud. War is a harsh business, but then again, that is what they
were trying to prevent. The skirmish was over and everyone had made it
out of it in good condition, perhaps a little wiser and alot more
tired, but in his eyes they had done justice for the truce that Neo had
given his life for.

He sent a short broadcast commending them
all on a job well done and with that, gave the order for everyone to
find their exits and get some rest. The Matrix would be there tomorrow,
and thankfully so would they.

It was a hot day in the Megacity, but DJ Konfliq helped out with a pool
party in Vauxton. The clothes went off and the agents even paid
multiple visits (thanks agent Long) I had the magnificent Imagene
by my side and it turned into a very fun time.

Some of us were fortunate enough to share a conversation with TheTailor concerning these Sleepwalkers that have been attacking throughout MegaCity. Although I cannot put these ideas out as eloquently as TheTailor did, I will do my best.

It is his idea that the Sleepwalkers are partially awakened bluepills. Innocents trapped in the their pods, still connected directly to the Matrix, but aware. Imagine the state of mind of these inidividuals... lost, scared, confused and angry.

Who would do such a cruel and heartless deed? EPN would gain the most by destabalizing the matrix in this manner. Every time a sleepwalker is killed, the Matrix loses power, even the Architect is concerned about this, which says alot.

For now this is just a theory and TheTailor was certain to make that clear, but also that in the sharing of theory we can possibly find some truth.
