I said I would never do this, but, it's now pointless to play this game, 90% of all my friends have left and they were the real reason why I kept playin, not for content, not for story, not for pvp, for the community. But like I said that's really all in the past and I think it's time for me to move on.

This game has had a huge infulence on my life over the past 4 years, I've had my ups, downs, took a few vacations to get my life right in rl, but now I think that MxO has nothing more to really offer me, plus, all the negativity on these boards really brings me down, and I said I would never quit this game, but there is alot more better things I can do with my time and money then playing a game that wont go anywhere ever, So I'm canceling my sub today and I wont be jacking back in. Which I'm sure will make a few people happy, including myself...

If this game ever does come back from the grave, I will return, but I don't see that happening anytime soon, so I'll take my leave for now, I wish you all the best of luck, I wish MxO a better future, like I always have, and one more thing...

The ability to help this game is not on some website, it's not in some story some guys wrote and just said, yup that's good enough, lets go with that, the matrix story should've always been for us, by us, not writen by bs devs. They should randomly pick a player, give that player the ability to be teh bad guy for the month, give em lvl 60, ability to spawn npcs, and then we could create our own kick arse stories, but sadly, we are givin nothing, so all we can really do is pvp, rp, or just farm, or do what peeps on teh forums do, create edrama.

Ideed, operative, however, harrassment is one way to look at it, another is to look at it like, "we give you candy, joo pull some strings and get us more content and get more attention from soe kthx."

However, a fire that will never go out is something everyone knows is impossible, not to be negative or anything but letters to SOE with candy? I think someone should do some research and find out where the big wigs at soe live, send the candy and letters directly to them, and someone find rarebit's house and send him a box with a letter tellin him what he's done by leaving us, if this was done right, I think that if the head's of soe were given this gift by the community, it might do more then just sending it to the offices of soe.

IMO, this is a good idea, the way in which you act on the idea will be crutial, and is the real importance of any plan, so like I said, send it directly to the people that matter, not the SOE offices where all you will do is feed a couple mail room idiots and probly make a small mess with the letters.

So yea, I'll leave it on that note, and one more thing, if someone has the time and money to do this, and everyone in different cities around the US and even people in Europe went around and tried their best to get subs, in multiple ways, weither it be making posters and posting them around town, near schools or collages, weither it be going to over 100 other games forums and post about the matrix or just sending the letter and candy to soe, it's the combination of all these things and more that might get some attention, not just 1 single large event planned by a group of community members.

lol u guys are funny, and I have lvled mostly on vector, got to lvl 34 with one char and 20 with another, but due to the lack of people, I just got bored of it. Which is why I'd want my main on vector.

I think if I were a dev I'd have to redo this game, give the story back to the players, the way it was originally intended.

But mostly if I were a dev I'd hire under my own dolla, 15 good assistants, to help with all the difficult work, then I'd get all teh stuff done faster and everybody happy yes?!

How's about a random storyline rendering system, pick by community vote, 5 players from each org that are by far the best rpers around, have them write the stories, then number them randomly, put a list of the said numbers on the forums, have a vote over say a week as to which of the 15 different stories gets to be acted out this month, and the top ones from each org would be acted out for said orgs, and also there should be a overall storyline for the matrix, which could be done the sameway, random vote, random outcome to the story, = cannon storyline run by players for players.

This, I'm sorry to say, could possibly help mxo. You seen what he wrote about the story being in our hands, well people, are those of you that have been around as long as I just going to let the overall story die? We are the Red Pills of a community where nothing was ever givin to us without us having to bish about it.  Perhaps now, it's finally time, to do what I've been saying this whole time, Give us some dev abilities so we can create our own events, I say give us the ability, through a pill to make hostiles appear outa no where and attack anyone.

Rare, you did try, you weren't given enough stuff to go with, however, the 1 really big mistake that you all made was never giving the players total control of this game. In my opinion this is the main reason MxO is going to die. You think that a small group of devs can continue a story as complex as The Matrix??????? Hell no! It's up to the creative minds of the people that loved it so much, why in the world did you ever give into us players by not focusing on the story and focusing more on bs content that only managed to drop people's intrest in the game even further.

TBH I never gave a **** about the content, I cared more about intresting new events that would happen from time to time, intresting new things that could happen, I for one know my charactor was a big! part of the matrix story, I for one know that most of the story that I attempted to go with was only to help this game. The story should have always been writen by us, not by SOE, the game should be run by those truely dedicated to it and it's continuation, not by those just trying to make a quick buck. First objective: head over to club hel for the party the merv is holding cause the truce just died.

Second objective: Party with sexy bondage bishes and drink alot, and eat merv cake untill everyone passes out.

Third Objective: Collect a pay check for being such hardworking partiers.

First Machine critical mission.

First objective: Track down all zionite computer systems and take any and all information from them and upload it to the machine database.

Second Objective: Kill all enemay noobs you see trying hard to escape but can't hyperjump inside buildings so they keep hitting the ceilling and are easy targets.

Third Objective: tap the zion database and steal the codes that are required to enter the city of zion.

Fourth objective: Forward all information to the machine database where it will be collected and analyized, then we will send the information to one of our skilled operatives that will enter zion itself and pretty much destroy it from the inside out.

First off, I'm glad I am making you all "LoLz" including you Rarebit, and to rare, no this isn't a petition it's a random rant on how much I think the story is going into the wrong direction. As for me rewriting the last 4 chapters of this game... I don't see why not. I mean I am a busy man but otherwise I could come up with some free time and write out a couple stories that could have been better then this. You people don't seem to get it, I'm not trying to get the attention of the devs, I know full well that nothing will be done because just as I have stated before no one at soe cares about the customers, no one cares about us gamers, us people that believe this is more then just a game, it's the story being continued by the people that loved the movies!!! And in my opinion, you cannot tell a story with static content that doesn't even relate to the movies, the story or hell even any real relavance to the matrix at all.

I've been holding my frustration about this game dying back for so long now, but I'm to the point to where it's pointless, I can no longer stop myself from complaining about something I love and hate to see go. I love this game, and I love alot of the people in it, I love how much effort Rarebit has put into this game and how much all the devs have tried their best to solve the problems that cannot be solved by soe. The problem is not the game, it's been the story, people lose intrest in the story because it's no longer intresting, it's no longer even Matrix theme anymore, it's some alien bs that makes no sense and is told by a 5 minute bunch of pictures that really don't even tell much, followed by a lame little 3 part mission that again makes no sense, tells no story and has nothing to do with the matrix story. Then we have the so called content that isn't even useful to a pvper like myself, it's so out of this world difficult to gain that only through alot of mindless farming will one ever see something that no one really needs other then to look good. Sorry, but looking good doesn't matter to me, I rather run around with no shirt on pwnin noobs left and right with gear that actually matters to a real pvper.

I don't want to leave MxO, but I feel like everytime I say something I only get looked at like "ohhh look that noob skull is posting on the forums again, lets go talk trash and tell him he is wrong for expressing his opinions! hahahaha!" It's simple, the reason why MxO owned so much for going on 3 and a half years now was because the story, unlike in other games, had someone telling it, now we have NPCs and content that doesn't matter telling a half baked story about what? Overrides? Some random colorful people that seem to be all mighty??? These people aren't even really a story!!!! The story of the Matrix should be epic! Not half baked!!! ffs people come up with an original story for this game, one that will excite people, not drive them away!!! You need real people playing these people, NPCs are bs imho, and you can raise their lvls all you want, you can make them ubber and even able to call for backup like these new nubs, but the fact of the matter is, that no matter what you do, nothing will compaire to the awsome events we've had, where you could rp with someone that accutually matters in the story! Now all we get is bs content and npcs with nothing but text and alittle reused content.

I'm going to try to do something I haven't for awhile, I'm going to try through this thread to get through to SOE, others can help me if they like but my words will more or less have the most impact in this thread.

I've come to the conclusion that MxO is indeed being killed off, Rarebit's new approch is the cause. I'm not saying rare is to blame for this, I'm simply saying that I think this new approch of his is alittle off. As I have stated in another thread, I feel like MxO, which has been my 1 and only online game for 2 years is losing my intrest. I mean, really, why did you kill off live events in a game where they mean so much to the community?! I mean it was something to look forward to, and while we waited for one to happen, we pvped, rped, dueled or just stood around, oh and farming lol don't forget farming. I mean I cannot understand why SOE wants this game dead, it's a great game, and it's still got a story to unfold, mind you, lately, the story has been garbage, no offense to whomever is writing it, but it's not very fun. I remember back in the day when we would wait around for random things to happen, new threats to the simulation to come out and just attack people, I remember when the live events were so awsome you could bearly hold yourself back when they were over.

Now adays however, you give us content with a story that doesn't even back up the content. You give us a game where there is 1% interaction with the community and 99% npc related farming. Imho this is not what you should be doing to this game, you are treating mxo, just like you always have, as a second hand game and now you treat it as it's not even worth selling this game for 10 bucks! I'm sorry, just alittle frustraited. I remember when this game had a certain element to it, a certain vibe, that no other game could even come close to, but lately that vibe has nearly gone completely, and I myself am so close to hitting the unsubscribe button... I don't want to do this, but unless something is done, unless at least something intresting happends inside of the matrix, I will have to.

If you really, really cannot do live events anymore, for whatever reason, be it because you have other work to do, then why not let the players do their own live events, with the story charactors?

Devs, I'm giving you a chance to help this game, do something for it, I understand everything needs to be approved cause it is your job but might I suggest looking to the community to hold dev powers from now on, Give veteran players that know the story, that know how to rp good, give them the LE charactors and let us make our own story. Give these players the ability to run live events and make npcs outa thin air, I mean what could go wrong? Most of us here love this game, and we don't want to see it die, so why not let us help? We play this game for the interaction, not for the bs content that isn't even helpful in pvp. We play this for the real story the unfolding of the Matrix story, not some (no offense) halfa$$ed writen story that someone just wrote down once and didn't even really think it through.

Give these chosen players the ability to reward the community through there own live events. Most of us, even myself when I'm not working would be willing to do this for this game. We would be willing to help this game and you wont give us the oppertunity.

Think this through SOE, it could help this game in the long run, making players that love the game into devs that pay you to do the job you wont pay others to do seems like a pretty good offer. And unless I see some kinda response to my offer, some kinda, "we will think about it and get back to you" kinda comment, I will leave this game. And I'm sorry but this isn't really even alittle fun anymore, it's a waste of time unless something is done, it's a waste of my time to just farm random content and watch a story that isn't even remotely intresting unfold...

Maybe I missed something somewhere but I did the first two machine missions and umm, well all Agent Gray tells me at the end is to go hunt down and kill a Lupine in Northwest Downtown.

Now maybe it's just me, but aren't the machines supposed to be alittle more direct then somewhere in northwest downtown? I mean in the last set of missions at least coords were given, but this time all I get is somewhere in the northwest part of downtown.

Rare, I'm not saying your new approch isn't good, I'm saying it seems more like the real fun in the game went with the weekly live events, I mean I haven't heard of any live events since the last update other then the org meetings and the party. Which btw I didn't even attend...

I agree with your method to give us content and story at the same time, however removing weekly overall interaction with the player base is a step in the wrong direction imo. I for one loved live events and even though I've only been to a handful of them during my time with mxo, the memories of them still made this game fun for me, the content is fine, pvp is fine, org meetings are fine but overall live events are really what should be looked at for next year. I know you guys have alot of stuff to do in short periods of time, however the story was the main reason why this game has been fun for me for so long, fighting ageinst npcs spawned from ubber powerful dev controlled charactors was the best and it really is sad that those days are gone. Or are they?

I see how you're guest style gameplay could help the game, but the live events still need to happen, missions cannot fully tell the story of something so complex as the Matrix. You need live events, devs, cool stuff happening all over the city, so inbetween pvp or farming we can have fun. Now it really only seems like pvp is all I have to look forward to, and the next great item to use in pvp, and to be honest, make more items that will help in pvp, more IS Regain items, more health regain, stuff like widows moor lenses or Sakura. But enough of my ranting, just my two cents, bring LE back, and more frequent.

From my stand point, mxo has been left in the old folks home to die.

This game for 3 years has been awsome, but lately when you look at the otherall content and storyline based content it's like well can we have the rest of the story, just bring the 1 back and have one side win the game then either make the game free to play or just pull the plug, SOE has made it clear for 2 and a half years, MxO isn't their top of the list things to improve, we keep getting shafted and frankly, it sickens me, it might just be a game, but I for one have put alot of time and money into this game with nothing to show for it. The reason people are leaving mxo is because for the past year, all the devs have been worring about is content, not to much about the story, next year who is to say, I know the story is being archived through collectors and we only get 3 per what, 2 months? lmao it's a joke that the continuation of one of the most ground breaking movies is being treated like second hand trash.

The population is going away from this game, hell even me, someone that said I wouldn't leave this game even if there was no one left has to look back at that comment and say what the hell was I thinking. I don't want to leave mxo but the way it's going me and like 5 others will be pvping around mara c by ourselves for the next year. Where's the fun? Where's the story? I demand more cowbell and I demand it now kthxbai.

If I were a Dev, I'd put in place a plan with 5 steps to creating a better Game experince.

Step 1. Listen.

Listening to the players, we as the people are not here to play a game where we make the content, however, sometimes players can come up with very intresting ideas, if they are plausable, they should be looked at.

Step 2. Fun.

Having fun with the players and helping them to have a better time, such as Live Events, Devs pvping, just for fun. Because they use storyline charactors doesn't mean they cannot make a charactor and play the game on weekends and have fun with their powers.

More interaction with the player base on a more personall level is always good, helps when people really listen and interact with the community they find out more then you could ever read on the forums.

I'd personally log in with my Dev powered char and pvp at mara with everyone, FFA mara c just for kicks and have fun.

Step 3. Content.

Reuseable content is fine, but when it comes to things that come alittle too easy or alittle too hard, content is the basis of this game, mostly gear for pvp.

So I'd work on 3 different types of content that may please the Community.

1st type of content, Story Content.

Story content would consist of 3 aspects, Sticking to the story, but allowing it to unfold in a new way. the way they are doing the content atm would be thrown out the window, I'd create more detailed missions, with contacts around the city, basicly these contacts would be only known to their org through certain missions given in the normal way. the contacts themselves would be updated with new missions and 1 new org based item each time there is a new update.

2nd type of content, PvP Content.

Over 3 years I've based these ideas off what people have either wrote on these forums or what I've wanted.

3 types of PvP content will be implemented.

1. Better pvp gear, No offense to Rarebit, but most of the newest content isn't even fit to be on a PvP battle field. So content that pvpers can actually use will be implemented in different styles and all of it will be pvp ready gear and all soloable to get.

2. Areas where pvp will be really useful in, Certain areas, in westveiw, International and Downtown, will be changed, once you enter these areas your PvP status will be shown above your head, the more kills you get in these areas, the higher your ranking, CQs mean nothing, ganking means nothing, these will be last hit on players and number in a row before killed. Ranks will be made and shown above the players head aswell as in their details, at the end of each month, whoever holds the highest rank will be given an award, A black Assassins mask that will be the best item a pvper can have, this item will be held for one month by the person and can only be worn in the areas that have been prearranged pvp areas.

3. A new Reward system will be implemented, for new CQs. In the details there will be a new CQ counter placed, these are Monthly earned CQs, they add onto the normal CQ count but they are reset each month back to 0. These CQs will be based on a Reward system for 1st highest earned in a month, 2nd, and 3rd. These players will be given a gun that is unique in terms of it will have a 5% chance to Stun, Powerless, Blind, Pacify, Daze, Stagger, or off Ballanced aswell as have a range of 20 and a damage base of 15, in any style the player wants.

Step 4. The City.

New additions to the city would be worked on and every six months a new one would be implemented into the game, these would be completely new districts and or constructs. These areas would not be just half and then just thrown at the community like Datamine was and then Sati's Playground, No offense but it should all come as a package not piece by piece.

I feel that 1 new Construct fully built with bosses, npcs and newer better loot would really be good every 6 months.

Once a year a new District would be placed in the city, these would be accessable by hls but once inside of the districts the only way out is Desk phones inside completely open areas of the district. These districts would have npcs, hideouts, fully accessable buildings with npcs inside of them, aswell as items only found there. and these districts would only be accessable to players that are experinced enough to not die in them quickly.

Also, other aspects of the city will be looked at, like the adding of new contacts and Collectors with special items more probly in the new areas then the city we already have.

5. The Community.

The dev team aswell as SOE would help the community to get larger, become stronger and keep people intrested in the game for the long run. A player base fund raiser will be placed, players can donate money to the advertising cause, to get a commercial on TV for MxO or on other popular sites. Aswell as keep the community informed as to the new player base each month, progress will be shared with you all.

Also a new area will be placed in the forums just for people to share their opinions about new content we place in the game, and ideas that could push the game to a better future.

Merge for what? So Syntax can flame Recursion and tell everyone from that server to log, cause they can't go back to anything lolz.

I don't really see a reason for this to not happen, personally, I'd like to just move my Main Skull086 from Recursion to Syntax just for giggles, though I knew Recursion was dead about 3 months ago, which is why I made SkilledNoob, which is sometimes better then my main due to his awsome rp skillz and the fact that he can be any org I choose from 1 mission.

Course if they could, just add my main's CQ count to my new main SkilledNoob cause everytime I go on Recursion I pwn one or two hjing noobs then get bored cause they all run away with knife wombs in their lower extremidies. I would like to reach 15k CQs with my main, but am unable even though I'm like 160 cqs away, no pvp = bored quicker on Recursion, then I log and head to Syntax to pwn teh pros and nubs over there.

I am Skull086, and I approve this message for a better tomarrow, Merge teh servers and add more cowbell to all teh noobs that sneak constantly so we can at least hear em coming and pwn kthxbai.

I for one think that Abilities are the way to go, Clothing can be dull at times, those players that have had Mobius forever like myself had that advantage in pvp, so why not have pvp skill abilities, instead of making them org-wise, make them so they work off cqs.

Just as he said, but really, just reballance the org abilities, change em around alittle to make them more suitable to pvp and have them really show other players that pvp is something to get into, and not just a past time, like rping...
