I have one of these but found it hard to use. The movement mapping I had setup was difficult because of turning and straffing. The eightway controls can only handle forward, backward, left and right and combinations of those. Even then I found it difficult. Perhaps assigning the left\right strafe would work better. In additon I didn't spend the time coming up with any good assignment key layouts for the keypad. but it does work, you just have to play with the setup to get something you can comfortably use.

I got to say that Dreami and her team is still hanging in there providing side events for Vector. It may not be much but it is something. Perhaps this is what LESIG should be doing, side events and storylines that help fill the times between the new chapters. I certainly loved the watchmaker, program 991 and the other seemingly unrelated story elements. More stuff like that and I would consider playing again.

Tough choice, It came down for me to three possibles, The nightmare, Succubus, and Ill Persephone. Succubus won out though just because of the shear naughtiness that has been a staple these past 4 years.

I would agree with ingus on this, With the new regen clothing the duels will take forever. Heck I remember my 20-30 minute hacker duels with tripity last year and those were without the regen pants Plus it would add a new level of strategy for players. If you can't finish your oponent, can you at least outlast him?
Well, all the points really contradict each other. Why should we outlaw one item of clothing when, as SkyBruin said, duels can take that kind of length anyway? IMO, having faught many duels with the new sleepwalker pants and finished off my opponents in fairly decent time (nothing to the scale of 30minutes) the jeans are fine. I've battled previously without the jeans and had some battles last 20minutes. Again, outlawing the pants would actually take away from the level of strategy in these duels in terms of outlasting them. IMO, outlawing them really has very little point.
Sorry for the confusion there, I was really just in favor of a set time limit for duels incase they go the distance. I like the regen pants, as I am sure many other do. but they do increase the likelyhoood of extended duels. I thought I would mention what was done at the ZIOn vs EPN tourney since several of the matches came down to the 7 minute limit to decide the winner.

I would agree with ingus on this, With the new regen clothing the duels will take forever. During the ZION vs EPN combat trails the duels were 7 minutes max and the person who had the most health at that time won the duel. You could go with that format or set your own limit like 10 minutes. Heck I remember my 20-30 minute hacker duels with tripity last year and those were without the regen pants . Sure they were fun but, but in the interests of keeping a reasonable schedule it might be better for everyone to set a limit. Plus it would add a new level of strategy for players. If you can't finish your oponent, can you at least outlast him?

it allows you to grab screenshots and save to one of several image types without having to cut and paste, it even allows you to grab userdefined rectangular sections of your desktop as well. I use it quite abit for both work and personal screen captures.

I mean Dreami isn't the only LO logging in on Vector but fair has to be fair and I've heard she's one dedicated mutha and posting up event she runs herself is a nice thing to see liaisons do aside from "Go to coordiate x, y z, floor 4" in Live Events and then nothing is heard from them until the next month, maybe it was time for some 2.5 or 3.0 or what they call themselves to get cracking and make something for the Mervs to participate in. (from a Merv point of view not that the event didn't have that but I would feel like a fool running in one single Merv while the rest of my organization is farming overridden exiles in Chelsea - I'm gung ho but not a that gung ho.) /shrug. A recap of how we got ganked for five minutes and than a total rose colored glasses approach to a ruined evening for alot of people? Yeah thats pure dedication...
I think from alot of people I have talked to in all organizations agree this is one of the generally worst ran events ever. We went into planning builds heck I even farmed Valrkie consumables to give us an edge as well as brought my buff bot. We talked about Merovingian involvment what it boiled down to was 15 Zionites in a room a character using bugged un attainable items to get this done even more skewed and us getting killed at the very end with no real moderation or guidence. Honestly this entire thing struck me as if it was intentionally done to favor Zion and expect us to Jolly Gee Wizz RP it off at the next event...
The fact that this was posted and I can only assume ran by a Cypherite liason makes you wonder how much our own officers really even care about our organization our enjoyment of the game or our involvement when putting something like this on... Obviously this was not thought out because we had mentioned to her many times our concerns for a vast population difference and the only reply we got for days on end is "Well learn from it" Honestly learn from it...? What exactly do you learn from jacking in at 9 PM getting zerged by 15 Zionites and having a non moderated and skewed event who's center piece is wearing bugged items?
Don't even get me started on logistics regarding ability timers and the realistic chances for anyone to even catch this guy within reason. Put up a real fight. Than we can also go into the fact that this event started Im guessing before the official time. This resulted in a 10 minute event which even than would have been honestly a waste to begin with being cut even shorter. As you can see in many peoples posts in resulted in multiple people in every organization logging in just a few minutes late and missing the entire event. "And if the excuse applies that they should have been there on time I suppose we can say the same for the Courier". All Im going to say is the fact that stuff like this isn't even confronted and in alot of regards people are made bad guys in this game when vocalizing these issues and not dropping them for social comfortability is saddening. On a personal note this event had been hyped for a long time now. I passed up going out to a steak dinner to make it thinking it was going to be something epic. Instead this is what we got for as close to an official content source as were going to receive in a subscription based Sony game.
You would think after something as out there as this we would get something outside of "What have we learned?" In an attempt to shift the conversation in a direction that results in no conforntation of how utterly tragic this entire evening was. I can tell you heres what I learned. 7 Cypherites arn't a match for 15 to 20 EPN and Zions. MKT timers don't permit me to properly catch a player whos wearing pre nerf Widows Gi and Boots. Actually starting events on time especially when their entire duration is that of somewhere between five to ten minutes allows what little Cypherite population is left playing MxO to actually participate. Not doing this scares off Syntax Cypherites that some of us have worked very hard to make feel welcome on this server because were in desperate need of quality population. And what I learned most of all is it seems some people just dont care and thats the biggest let down of all on this.
Priv,
You do have some points but some need clarification. The event started on time as far as I could tell. It was maybe even a few minutes after the alotted time when the courrier hit the street. I believe this because we were fighting accelerated exiles until the alloted time. and had to rush to get to the event on time. But that does underscore the speed issue since it was over before late arrivals could get in the event. Next time may be a different story, though.

Nothing really to do wwith EPN and Zion Bruce, There was a zion courrier mission about an hour after this occurance Started, but as it panned out the mission didn't take long so it was back to chelsea again in little time.
Would have been more interesting except our group didn't seem to get too many Accelerator bits from this so we stopped after a time. It seemed to get too boring after a bit. However, It did remind me of the Corrupted spawns that a Team of ML fought one day in Historic north for about 6 or 7 hours back during the days of the assassin.

In the chaos of the moment, I didn't realize I stepped on your rezzes. sorrows If you got them in before me, I appologize. But the big thing was we got the courier back on his feet. And can I just say Speed Demon? That guy was hard for his escort to keep up with. Maybe next time tone down the speed a bit and work in a hand off or multiple drop situation to extend the play time of the event for everyone.

Locations for these nodes starting out. You could do one per district. Here are what I think would be Fun places to battle for each district. Westview Gracy Heights Southard International There are so many Interesting places here. Akasaka Kwoloon Downtown Union Hill Morrell Oh and to borrow a bit of coloring from Steele's battleground Idea, Note the colors above. these colors could be used as a lighting color for the node once hacked and lasting until the node is reset.

I'm not a pvper by any means, but I would do this probably a LOT if this was implemented well.
The "reward" for controlling the hill, whatever it may be, should be something worth the fight though. Might be interesting if you could put hooks into the game that reported how long the hill has been held by the current owner (pwner) org on the Web, with things like "shortest time held" "longest time held" with breakdowns for org, faction, crews, individuals, etc. I like your thinking on this, Not sure if this is something that the devs could pull off at the start, given the amount of time it took to get a CQ list going. I know they Already have much on their plates so I wanted to try and implement the idea with as much already created content as possible.
As for the location, I'm thinking it could be a club or maybe the top floor of a building. Perhaps the area hides a door which leads to a special construct, kind of like the white hallways, where consumables or luggables or whathaveyou can be farmed/acquired? Although a Nice Idea, this might be too much. As I said above, if we could use Already made conent in new ways it makes the process easier to pull off. I was thinking of the already existing access node locations for these points. In fact I'll probably go search for likely candidate locations soon.
Rarebit and the dev team should seriously consider doing this.

As possible additional/alternative reward for holding the Hacked node for the Entire time period of the Hack, How about A CQ point for everyone on the team who held the node. It would give more reason to defend the nodes for the entire time and if the Agent spawn chance increase is used, it might not be a cheap way to get CQs without risking anything. Opinions/ideas on this?

I would really like to see something along the lines of this being implemeted. Mara is ok to pvp in but gah it gets borin. Its been done to death. Something like this would make pvp more meaningfull in a way and would get us around the MC. Like maybe have it that its 1 random node in every district, changes every server restart. Oh and *cough* every1 runs to the RP servers to RP, if something like this was to be done, PvP server only please
As far as I'm aware, anything applied to the game world (such as permanent pacification zones etc..) would be applied to all servers. Besides, there is nothing inherant in the game's code that forces people to go to Recursion or Syntax to RP, As far as I've heard there is quite a bit of RP on Vector, so even if the idea were to happen, I don't see why Vector should be the only server with it. Indeed, no reason not to include the Non Pvp servers in something like this, they probably have similar problems with mara that we do(Everyone is there and it gets boring) but that does raise one particular item for those Servers. For the person/team that hacks a node, They would become pvp flagged for the duration of them controlling the hacked node. From reward should come risk and vice versa.

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off! Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up. Remember the five simple rules to be happy: Free your heart from hatred - Forgive. Free your mind from worries - Most never happen and those that do worrying about them doesn't help resolve them. Live simply and appreciate what you have. Give more. Expect less
NOW ............
Enough of that crap . .. . The donkey later came back, and bit the farmer who had tried to bury him. The gash from the bite got infected and the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock.
MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:
When you do something wrong, and try to cover your "donkey", it always comes back to bite you.

So does that mean Rarebit that the situation still has not changed as far as the luxury of resources to accomplish this content? I was trying to think of certain elements of our world that already exist so as to reduce the amount of new work needed to be done. Thinking in steps of implementation. To start with the 3 access nodes for one area that gives a set amount of xp and info every 10 minutes over 2 and 1/2 hours of time. This would be for the individual or team that hacks the node. Then attach a chance of npc spawn on the hacking team to discourage AFK macro exploiting.

While this is an interesting thought, there are some problems I see with it.
There are too many of these overall, and with a small playerbase, controlling alot is gonna be hard. If there were maybe...2 of these overall ingame, and maybe in the constructs, you're guaranteed large player density and pvp. Another issue is will people still fight for these in the long run. Again, due to how we act, everyone swarms the first month or two, and then it dies out. During oddball hours or random hours, one group doing this could be relatively left alone. And once this happens, what stops them from using AFK macros/scripts? I think I see your point with the number, I'd like to see it in every district but with our current popluation that would be too much. but only 2 per instance, I think that would be too low a number. Perhaps 3 to 5 per Area might be more resonable number starting out. then perhaps adding more if the population ever increases enough.
As for the afk macros and Scripts, Perhaps place a certain chance of an agent or tactical seciruty squad spawn on those that hack the node to discourage this behavior. It would also add an element of danger to those hacking nodes beyond the pvp environment. Make them level 55-60 npcs and spawn one for each person on the team and the team can have someone to play with if there are no pvpers around.

I was thinking of a possible new idea for pvp purposes and for future content. Using the Access nodes outside of richland, allow characters that have already unlocked the district to be able to hack the access node to their organization using a special tool or ability. This hacking would take a set amount of time to accomplish and more than one Access Node could be hacked at one time. If a node is already hacked, the node must first be un-hacked using the same set amount of time it takes to hack a node. So to control a node already under another orgs control you have to hack it twice. A node already hacked to your org can not be hacked until the timer runs out. Once hacked, the individual (or each member of the team if the individual is on one) then gets a periodic reward (low to moderate xp and Information  over the course of a set time period based on an average Level of experience for as long as they are logged into the matrix and remain on the team that hacked the node. A person who hacks the access node and any person on the same team are flagged for pvp for the duration of the time they are still on the team and the node is still hacked. A possible additional benefit for the org in general, the Ability to identify hostile entities within controlled districts. i.e a \who like command or website giving a report (also periodically updated) of enemy org players flagged for pvp within controlled districts. This would give pvp minded individuals objectives to obtain and defend and get them away from the standard areas where pvp occurs. It also gives lower level players the ability to gain money and xp outside of the standard mission grind. I Invite the community and devlopers to discuss and evaluate this idea Further. Some questions to consider, How long should hacking the node take? How long should a node stay hacked? What kind of graphical effect should a hacked node show? How much and How often should the reward be given for a hacked node, bearing in mind that more than 1 node can be hacked at one time? Should a reward boost be given to orgs who controll all districts in an area(i.e Downtown, International or Westview)? If Yes, How much? For the devs, How hard do you think this would be to work into the game? Would doing this be possible with the current resources available?

We tried inadvertantly to interfere with those experiments. Sadly In the process, We took maybe three or more blue pill lives. Seeing more of the experimentation done in there Perhaps we saved those blue pills some measure of pain. I know they died Quick from our efforts. May god have mercy on all our souls.

Rarebit I do have to say, after some time that making sati's hostile on vector was a mistake....We're having a very hard time with the contect bc of the off and on server population. Even when were try working together anything that is an aoe damages the other org etc. My rational is if every construct up to satis is hostile on recursion and syntax yet satis is not.....then why does it have to be hostile on vector.. Thank You.. It isn't.
Ohh wait you must have got over level 16 or whatever it is. =p
EDIT: Gratz! =D
rare while i dig the humor just check back after a month how many people are able to complete this on vector..it's not a very full server and awafully hard to get enough help... Ohh we'll all get them, and it will mean more to us by being a harder challenge.

What if Nothing is somehow related to 991? The joker seemed to have a knack for incorporating other programs and personalities into it's programming. what if the last remains of 991, it's base programming, Some how coopted Nothing and together they are becoming something greater. That would also mean that this nothing website might be the new basis for a 991's modules.

I took a look a few days ago when I watched the wiretap clip: seems to be some conspiracy theorist freak's little corner of crazy, but we might be on to something. I entirely agree with your assesment, Definate freaky corner of craziness. But how is this linked to Fallout?
